Eudrilus eugeniae is a foreign species that is well adapted to captivity system adopted in Brazil. The objective was evaluate the productive and economic performance of earthworms in different substrates in two 100 days. In aim 1, the control substrate composed by cattle manure and forage grass (CMG) was supplemented with minerals (MM), soybean meal (SB) and ground corn (GC). The substrate containing GC was higher than in average weight (AW) of 127% and average weight gain (AWG) of 332% when compared to CMG substrate, superior in 193% AW and 252% AWG when compared to MM and 251% AW and 403% AWG when compared to the substrate with SB. In aim 2, were used different amounts of GC in substrate. The production of the substrate that contained 5% GC was superior in 9%, 12% and 20% with regard to those that had a composition of 10%, 15% and 20% of GC, respectively. As for the difference between the costs and the benefits of each of the substrates, the 5% GC substrate showed a positive return of BRL$ 35.32 for each BRL$1.00 invested and an economic performance that was 205% superior to MM, the second best option among substrates. 5% GC performed better and more efficient and economically viable production of worms.

Water loss from the sweat glands of shorn sheep was estimated as the difference between the average weight gain of desiccating capsules placed on 10 normal sheep and on 4 control sheep congenitally lacking sweat glands. At an air tempera ture of 20°C (68°F) and a water vapour pressure of 12.5 mm Hg the rate of svveating was 10.2 g/m2/hr, and at 40°C (104°F) and a water vapour pressure of 28.1 mm Hg the rate of sweating was 32.1 g/m2/hr. The maximum amount of heat a sheep could lose by sweating at the rate of 32 g/m2/hr under these conditions is c. 20 kcal/hr. It is emphasized that the rate of sweating observed in shorn sheep must not be applied unreservedly to sheep with a fleece, because the dynamics of water movement in the fleece are unknown.

The purposes of determining the influence of the light and sexing on growth performance and slaughter results atyoung quails from Balotesti population, was organized an experiment on 150 quails, betwen age of 28 and 70 days. The chicks were divided into two groups (control and experimental), and growth and slaughter performance were determined separately by sex. Have studied 2 lighting programs, a program of continous lighting with photoperiod duration of 16 hours (16 L + 8 N, control group) and a program with lighting with asymetric hours intervals with photoperiod duration of 16 hours (10L+2N+6L+6N, experimental group).Males and females from the experimental group were recorded average performance of growth high during the period 28 - 70 days. Live weight at age of 70 days was higher with 7.54 %, average weight gain was higher with 14.86 % and feed conversion rate was lower with 13.51 % at males from experimental group compared to males from the control group. Also, the live weight at the age of 70 days was higher with 18.09 %; average weight gain was higher with 35.12 %, while feed conversion rate was reduced with 30.08 % on females from the experimental group compared to females from the control group.The results of the slaughter at 70 days were superior in the caseof females from the both groups versus males. The average weight of the carcase was higher with 17.53 % in case of the females than that of males from the experimental group, and the carcase yield was 65.37 % at the females and 65.56 % for males. Also, the average weight of the carcase was higher with 5.08 % in case of females compared to that males from the control group, and the carcase yield was 64.20 % to females 66.70 % on males.Superior results recorded in the case of females and males from the experimental group recommended the program of lighting with asymmetric hours intervals in the growth of youth quail. Also, the higher slaughter results recorded in the case of females of the two groups recommended them in the meat production through a broiler of quail that combine advantages in the production of both males and females.

The purpose of this study was to find the difference of economic growth between quartal with Ramadhan and quartal outside of Ramadhan (the average). This study use quantitative methods using t-test, to find the comparison between the economic growth from quartal of Ramadhan and quartal outside Ramadhan. Our result find that economic growth in quartal of Ramadhan is higher than the average quartal outside Ramadhan, religious practice can affect individual behaviour and beliefs in a ways that have implications for economic performance. Economic growth in quartal of Ramadhan increase, because people tend to consume more than in other months.Keywords: Economic Growth, Ramadhan and economy, The Effect of Holiday to Economy, GDP

The study was conducted in the poultry field in the Animal Production Department/ College of Agriculture and Forestry/ University of Mosul, for the period from 18/ 2/ 2020 until 13/ 4/ 2020. The experiment aimed to study the effect of replacement different levels of sesame meal (SSM) as a protein source to replace soybean meal (SBM) on the productive performance and reproductive of laying quail, 360 quail birds (240 females and 120 males) were used, at the age of 49 days, distributed randomly into five treatments, each treatment with eight replicates, ( 9 birds in each replicate 6 females and 3 males). The treatments were as follows: the first was the control (0% SSM), the second, third, fourth, and the fifth replaced SSM by SBM with level (25, 50, 75 and 100%) respectively, feed and water was ad libitum during the trial period of 8 weeks. The results of the statistical analysis showed there is a significant statistical difference at a level (P≤0.05) in the fifth treatment (100% SSM) as compared to control and other treatments in total egg number, average egg weight, total egg mass, Hen day egg production percentage (% HD), feed intake, feed conversion ratio, fertility, and hatching percentage of total eggs, average weight of hatched chicks, and a significant increase in the embryo mortality. The results also showed a significant decrease at a level (P≤0.05) in the feed intake for the fourth treatment (75% SSM) compared to the control, while no significant differences were observed for the other treatments in all the studied traits. The results of this study showed the possibility of using sesame meal as a protein source at (75%) to replace soybean meal in laying quail bird diets.

The contents of ferulic acid, senkyunolide A, butylidenephthalide, ligustilide, and n-butylphthalide were determined by UPLC analytical method; the correlation among the grade, average weight, and content was explored by correlation analysis and analysis of variance (ANOVA); the different commercial grades with average weight and content were revealed by principal component analysis (PCA) and then rationality analysis grade classification ofA. sinensis. The results showed that various commercial grades can be distinguished by PCA analysis. And there was significant negative correlation between the commodity grades and average weight, commodity, and the content of bioactive compounds, while the content of senkyunolide A had significant negative correlation with commodity grades (P<0.01). Average weight had no correlation with chemicals compounds. Additionally, there was significant positive correlation among the bioactive compounds (content of ferulic acid and phthalides) of different grades ofA. sinensis. The content of senkyunolide A, butylidenephthalide, and ligustilide had significant positive correlation with the content of ferulic acid. The content of ligustilide and butylidenephthalide had significant positive correlation with the content of senkyunolide A. The content of ligustilide had significant positive correlation with the content of butylidenephthalide. The basis of grades classification is related with the difference levels of the bioactive compounds.

This study was carried out to determine the effect of object combination as environmental enrichment on behaviour of growing pigs. Thirty-six (36) crossbreed (Large White X Landrace) growing pigs with average weight of 34-36Kg were allotted randomly into four treatments, replicated three times in a completely randomized design. The four treatments were; Control (without enrichment), PRope (2 pieces of polyester rope), treatment SWood (2 pieces of soft wood) and treatment PRope+SWood (1 piece of soft wood and 1 piece of polyester rope). Behavioural observations were monitored by CCTV and recordings were made for 6 hours/day and 3days/week. At the end of the experiment, data collected includes average feed intake and average weight gain while feed conversion ratio was calculated. Likewise, behavioural observations; enrichment use, general activities, pen manipulation and pen-mate manipulation were observed. Behavioural data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) while performance data were analysed using one-way ANOVA. Performance data were significantly influenced (P<0.05) by enrichments for all the parameters measured. PRope+SWood had the highest value for the final weight (50.63kg), average weight gain (15.95kg) and average feed intake (56.61kg) while PRope had the highest FCR 4.18). Penmate manipulation (10.48%), pen manipulation (19.02%) and general activities (14.62%) were lower and significantly better for PRope+SWood compared to PRope and SWood and the highest interaction with enrichment objects was observed in the PRope+SWood (55.88%). It can be concluded that the use of combination of enrichment objects enhanced the performance and behaviour of pigs.

<p>The productive performance and the variable cost of production were evaluated for different feeding strategies for tilapia during the production cycle. A sample of 2,000 juvenile tilapia was distributed (23.55 ± 2.38 g) into five treatments and with four repetitions as follows: C (feed consumption to apparent satiety), R20 (beginning feed restriction when fish reached an average weight of 20 g), R200 (beginning feed restriction when fish reached an average weight of 200 g), R400 (beginning feed restriction when fish reached an average weight of 400 g) and R600 (beginning feed restriction when fish reached an average weight of 600 g). The fish were given extruded commercial feed containing 34% crude protein until they reached a weight of 200 g, at which time they received feed containing 32% crude protein. Monthly biometrics were performed in order to determine the food restriction starting point, which was one day of restriction followed by six feeding days. The following parameters were evaluated: water quality, productive performance variables, the variable costs of production and excreted nitrogen. The results were subjected to analysis of variance, and the means were compared using Tukey’s test (5% significance). No statistical differences were observed in final weight, weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion or survival. The fish from the R20 treatment had the lowest variable cost of production (g fish-1) and the lowest nitrogen excretion into the water. This suggests that feed restriction from the early stages of life does not compromise the productive performance and contributes to reducing the variable costs and the quantity of nitrogen excreted into the environment. Thus, a one-day per week feed restriction strategy can be applied from the earliest stages of life without compromising the productive performance or body composition of Nile tilapia. This strategy can also reduce variable costs of production by means of reducing relative labour and feed costs. </p>

Honeybee (Apis mellifera) colonies hived in beehive materials that had been sterilised by gamma irradiation had an average weight gain of 29.3 kg while those housed in untreated hives had an average gain of 27.1 kg.Bees sampled from both the treated and untreated colonies were examined for the presence of Nosema apis and virus, causitive organisms of stress related diseases, at the end of the season. No significant differences were found. The slight increase in weight (2.2 kg) of the sterilised colonies was not sufficient to justify the cost of prophylactic sterilisation of beehive equipment.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of plant-based food additives on growth performance, body composition and survival of Nile tilapia. Four isonitrogenous (25% CP) and isolipidic (13% CL) experimental diets were prepared and designated as R1, R2, R3, and R4. R1 contains (3% Cymbopogon citratus), R2 contains (3% Ocimum basilicum), R3 contains (3% Mentha spicata) and R4 (control or 0% additive). 180 Nile tilapia fry with an initial average weight of 0.2g were distributed in 12 plastic tanks (50 L/tank) at the stocking density of 15 fish per tank in an isolated system. Fish were fed with experimental diets 3 times per day (8:00 am, 1:00 pm and 5 :00 pm) for 3 months. After 90 days of experiment, the results revealed that the final average weight ranged from 2.62g to 8.00g, the absolute average weight gain (AAWG) from 2.42 to 7.8g, the feed conversion ratio (FCR) from 1.31 to 2.67 and specific growth rate (SGR) from 3.06 to 4.36%/d. The survival rate (SR) varied between 64 and 100%. Of the parameters studied such as the absolute average weight gain (AAWG), the specific growth rate (SGR), the feed conversion ratio (FCR), and the survival rate, the best were obtained by the group of fish fed with the R2 diet containing 3% Ocimum basilicum. The results of the analysis of the flesh showed that the addition of 3% O. basilicum does not modify the contents of dry matter, crude protein, and ash but slightly increased the fat content. Based on the results, the inclusion of natural plant-based food additive (3% Ocimum basilicum) in the diet of Nile tilapia improved the parameters of growth, feed efficiency, and survival.

A highly sensitive method for the determination of epinephrine was proposed, which was based on the perturbation of epinephrine to Briggs-Rauscher oscillating system involving malonic acid, Mn2+, H+, IO3 - and H2O2 at non-equilibrium stationary state. The concentration of KIO3 was chosen as a control parameter to find the bifurcation point in this paper. Results showed that a well linear relationship between the difference of potential and the negative logarithm concentrations of epinephrine existed in the range of 1.1?10-7?5.2?10-9 mol L-1 with a lower detection limit of 6.8?10-10mol L-1 and a correlation coefficient of 0.9974. Compared to the classical oscillating reaction, this method has a lower detection limit and wider linear range. The effects of some foreign species, which may possibly be existed with epinephrine, on determination were also investigated. The proposed method has been successfully used to determine the epinephrine both in the serum and adrenaline hydrochloride injection.
