One of the main sections of the epidemiological surveillance of acute intestinal infections (AEI) is the operational epidemiological analysis of morbidity. For its implementation, a large array of information is accumulated, reflecting the results of collecting an epidemiological history in patients, the level of morbidity in microsections (regions), the etiological structure, pathways and factors of transmission of pathogens, the distribution of patients by age and social and professional groups, sanitary and hygienic background, etc. The received digital material must be quickly processed and in a compressed form to give a conclusion about the specific epidemiological situation.

The global community is racing to slow down and eventually stop the spread of COVID-19, which is a pandemic that has killed thousands of lives and made tens of thousands sick. The new coronavirus has already reached Angola, with 25 confirmed cases, among them 2 died and 6 were cured. The government has decreed a state of emergency on 24 March 2020 for 15 days, which was extended twice for the same number of days that will make it possible to reduce clusters of people and keep them at home. This study reflected on the diverse ways of leadership. It is an article of theoretical, technical and scientific reflection, based on the experience of a new epidemiological situation, with a critical analysis based on technical, scientific and professional experience, with bibliographic input of data obtained from information published in scientific articles, newspapers, magazines and other official documents published in Angola and worldwide related to COVID-19. This article emerged from critical thinking based on the current situation of COVID-19 in Angola in the world and is reflected in this article, what Angola should learn and learned from the experience of other countries that also imported the disease, their history of investment in health, characteristics of their populations, their economies and other aspects.

Chronic non - communicable diseases, mainly cardiovascular diseases, are the leading cause of death worldwide, including in the Russian Federation (RF). The article analyzes the negative and positive trends of the most relevant risk factors for cardiovascular diseases for the period from 2013 to 2017, and also provides a strategy for reducing mortality in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024 based on data from an epidemiological analysis.

West Nilefever (WNF) is the most important arbovirus infectionfor the Volgograd region. The observed decrease in the WNF incidence from 2001 to 2006, in 2008 and2009, the reducing the number ofsevere forms ofdiseases only give evidence ofa temporary regression of the epidemic process in the territory of the Volgograd region. In the territory of the Volgograd region there are prerequisites and harbingers of the complication of epidemiological situation on West Nile fever. The aim of the performed in the Volgograd region epidemiological surveillance for WNF is to provide the information necessary and sufficient for the analysis of the epidemiological situation, as well as to determine the direction of policy and activities in public health and in making management decisions.

Represented is the analysis of epidemiological situation on vector-borne natural-focal infections in the specially protected eco-resort territory of Russia - Caucasian Mineral Waters of the Stavropol Region. Climactic peculiarities of Caucasian Mineral Waters with their landscape diversity, high abundance rates of ticks and mosquitoes, and anthropogenic impact on ecosystems create favorable conditions for natural foci formation. Crucial epidemiological significance in the regional infectious pathology is attributed to tick-borne borreliosis. Registration of Crimean hemorrhagic fever cases, as well as West Nile (retrospectively) fever and tularemia cases, and identification of specific antibodies to etiological agents of these infections in blood sera of donors testify to volatile epidemiological situation on vector-borne natural-focal infections in the region, which means that there is a need for further ecological, epidemiological and epizootiological monitoring as a constituent element of epidemiological surveillance aimed at provision of sanitary-epidemiological welfare of the population.

There were studied epidemiological features of the prevalence rate of acute intestinal infections (AII) in the Republic of Dagestan (RD). The prevalence rate of acute intestinal infections in RD was shown to correspond taken as a whole, to Russian indices, however, the regional feature is the high prevalence rate of shigellosis, there is remained a high proportion of the AII of unidentified etiology. There was substantiated the necessity of development and implementation of targeted programmes aimed at the decline in the morbidity rate in problematic territories. The solution to the problem of the AII in the Republic is possible only under the coordination of efforts of federal and local authorities, sanitary - epidemiological and medical institutions.

The analysis of group morbidity of acute intestinal infections of water etiology was implemented in the Arkhangelsk region in 2000-2016. During the mentioned period, 183 ictuses were registered and 22 out of them (12%) had water way of transfer with 796 individuals as a total number of victims and 498 out them were children aged from 0 to 17 years. The ictus morbidity of acute intestinal infections realizing through water way, is characterized by high intensity of epidemiological process. The index of nidality made up to 36 victims per 1 water ictus. The cities and regions of occurrence of niduses (Arkhangelsk, Novodvinsk, Primorskiy, Plesetskiy and Holmogorskiy districts) relate to territories with surface drinking water source (Severnaya Dvina river). In etiological structure of water ictuses prevail cases of ictus morbidity of dysentery (63.7%), rotavirus infection (22.7%), ictuses of enterovirus infection (13.6%) and opportunistic flora (13.6%).

The new SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2) coronavirus causing acute respiratory disease COVID-19 (2019 coronavirus disease) detected in China in 2019 very quickly revealed its epidemic potential and was recognized as a global health problem. The situation caused by the rapidly increasing number of new cases and deaths due to COVID-19 required the rapid development of international recommendations and procedures to limit the spread of infections and ongoing monitoring of the epidemiological situation. In the field of epidemiological surveillance of COVID-19 cases, international organizations - WHO and regionally ECDC, have developed basic requirements for reporting data on newly detected cases of infection. In order to ensure the possibility of reporting new cases and activities undertaken by sanitary-epidemiological services in the country and to fulfill the obligation to report data to the European surveillance network, it was necessary to adapt the electronic system supporting epidemiological surveillance operations, for registration of suspected and confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 infections. This work presents the characteristics of the new COVID-19 module created as part of the central Epidemiological Case Reporting System and a preliminary evaluation of its usefulness for the purposes of combating COVID-19. CONCLUSIONS. The Epidemiological Case Reporting System is an efficient and adequate tool that can be adapted to newly emerging threats. In order to use the module to monitor the current epidemiological situation, it is necessary to integrate it with other systems collecting data about COVID-19 patients – ie. EWP and the clinical patient register.

Bacteriophage typing was used to subdivide Klebsiella obtained from patients in a surgical intensive care unit during a 2-year period. The 15 phages employed to type the strains were propagated by a soft-agar layer technique. In all, 23 phage types were found among the 120 clinical strains. The phage types of repeat isolates were reproducible. Only 70% of the strains tested were phage typable, but when used in conjunction with capsular serotyping and biotyping, a much greater subdivision of the Klebsiella strains was achieved. The addition of phage typing to serobiotyping for epidemiological analysis suggested that the number of cross-infecting Klebsiella strains in the intensive care unit was few, but that these strains persisted in the unit for long periods of time and could infect different body sites.

In 2017–2019 in Ukraine, including the Zaporizhzhia region, a strong rise in the incidence of measles was recorded. A retrospective analysis of the incidence in the Zaporizhzhia region during this outbreak allows us to identify the main problems in the system of epidemiological surveillance to predict future possible consequences. The aim of the work is to perform a comparative analysis of measles incidence in the Zaporizhzhia region with the data obtained in the period from 2015 to 2020 according to the epidemiological criteria. Materials and methods. The annual reports of 2015–2020 provided by the Department of Epidemiological Research of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine were used as materials for the retrospective epidemiological analysis of measles incidence in Zaporizhzhia region. Statistical analysis of the data was carried out according to epidemiological characteristics: age distribution, the residence of patients in urban or rural areas. Commonly used statistical methods used in medicine were used to evaluate the obtained results. Results. It is concluded that in the Zaporizhzhia region during 2015 only 2 cases of measles were detected for children, and in 2016 no measles were registered in the region at all. In 2017–2019 1.433 measles patients were identified in the Zaporizhzhia region, of which 68 % were adults and 32 % were children. The lowest detection rate of measles was registered among rural residents. Insufficient vaccination coverage of the population has become a significant reason for the spread of measles among residents of the Zaporizhzhia region. In 2020 no cases of measles have been registered in the Zaporizhzhia region. Conclusions. The prevalence of incidence rate among adults attests to the fact that today measles can not be considered only a childhood disease. The deficiency of an immune layer, both among adults and children, contributed to the rapid spread of the disease. Mandatory vaccination of children and the introduction of additional vaccination of adults, optimizing the system of epidemiological surveillance for measles, including continuous monitoring of vaccination, is the main mechanism for combating this disease.
