The goal of this paper is to obtain an automated system for the control of the quality of the combustion gases of a boiler. The concentration of oxygen present in the combustion gases is detected by means of a lambda sensor, and a proportional PID controller automatically regulates, through an actuator, the air inlet to the boiler, thus ensuring the emission of CO2 and other polluting gases into the atmosphere within the parameters established by the current environmental regulations. The control system has an HMI display and a modular PLC. The results achieved also ensure the reduction of fuel consumption of the boiler.

Introduction of the “Automated system for operational control of casts production (OCCP AS)” makes the basis of an integrated automated production control system (APCS). It performs three main tasks: control and recording (production, products, materials, etc.), improving quality of casts and operational management of technological processes. Solution of these tasks was accomplished through automating data collection in real time for all production operations, recording material flows, creating operational communication channels, as well as centralized collection, processing and representation of data by the process information server. The next step in building an effective automated control system is to stabilize product quality in changing external conditions, for example, quality of materials, and to optimize production (technology change in order to reduce costs for constant or higher product quality). The second stage is based on mathematical processing and analysis of data coming from OCCP AS, it allows to determine optimal ranges of parameters of technological processes  – “Automated system for optimization and analysis of production progress (OAPP AS)”. OAPP AS consists of two subsystems: quality analysis and technology management. The first solves the problem of data analysis and modeling, the second – calculation of real-time optimal process parameters and real time prediction. The stages tasks compete for access to different hardware resources. The most critical parameter for OCCP AS is performance of server disk arrays, for OAPP AS it is processor performance. In either case, system scaling is effectively solved by parallelizing operations across different servers, forming a cluster, and across different processors (cores) on the same server. To process defect images and to obtain cause-and-effect characteristics, you can use OpenCV software package, which is an open source computer vision library. In course of processing, Sobel operator, Gauss filter and binarization were used. They are based on processing pixels using matrices. Operations on pixels are independent and can be performed in parallel. The task of clustering is reduced to definition of an expert method or using various mathematical algorithms for defects belonging to a specific cluster (data block) through a set of values of dependent factors. Thus, data blocks are formed by the criterion of the defect cause. Calculation of a data block to which a product defect belongs can be very resource-intensive operation. To increase efficiency of image recognition systems and parallelization ofsearch operations, it makes sense to place data clusters on different servers. As a result, there is a need for a distributed database. This is a special class of DBMS, which requires appropriate software. Generation of OAPPAS based on a multi-node cluster with ApacheCassandra DBMS installed and using Nvidia video cards supporting CUDA technology on each node will be the cheapest and most effective solution. Video card is selected based on required number of graphics processors on the node.

Under the constraints of resources and the environment, exploring the channels to improve the quality of China’s economy is very important for China’s current sustainable development. Therefore, this paper studies whether innovation can improve the quality of China’s economy and explore the path of sustainable development from the perspective of the city. Based on the Malmquist–Luenberger index and DEA-Malmquist index, this paper, respectively, measures the green total factor productivity (GTFP) and total factor productivity (TFP) of 193 cities in China. On the basis of obtaining the GTFP, TFP, and various pollutant emissions of 193 cities, this paper selects environmental regulations as the threshold variable and the number of urban patents as the explanatory variable to measure the level of urban innovation. On this basis, we examine the impact of innovation quality on economic quality and environmental pollution under different environmental regulatory intensities. The research results show that the impact of innovation on GTFP and TFP under different environmental regulations is always positive, but the impact coefficient and significance level vary. In addition, the impact of innovation on SO2 emissions under different environmental regulations has also changed. With the increase of environmental regulations, the effect of reducing emissions is gradually significant. The conclusion of this paper better interprets the development of TFP and GTFP under the innovation-driven strategy, provides a decision-making basis for departments at all levels to formulate innovation support policies, and explores the path of sustainable development.

The article concerns the problem of structure-and-parametric optimization of a cascade automatic control system (CACS) by an example of a boiler power controller and a fuel controller. This CACS, which is a part of automatic control systems for power units, consists of two loops, viz. of an inner loop (which purpose is stabilization of the system) and an outer loop (designed for the adjustment) and, also, of two controller, viz. an outer controller (which is a basic one) provided for stabilization of the output value of the object (in our case, of the actual power unit capacity) and of an inner controller (which is an auxiliary one) provided to regulate fuel consumption. The internal controller builds up the control action with the aid of the boiler load controller of the power unit. As compared to single-loop automatic control systems, the cascade  system provides better quality of transient control due to the higher performance of the internal loop of the system. This advantage is especially noticeable when compensating for disturbances that come through the channel of regulating impact. The article presents two methods of setting, viz. the fuel controller and the boiler power controller. The application of these methods can improve the quality of power control and reduce fuel consumption in transient modes in comparison with the setting of these controllers of a typical power unit automatic power control system. The results of computer simulation of transient processes in CACS for input step surge and internal perturbation confirm the advantages of the methods are presented in this article.

Flow corrections established based on Lambda control system of spark ignition engines, determines in a decisively way the quality of air-fuel mixture. Faults in the operation of the control system generates deviations of the mixture composition from stoichiometric report, in this way affecting the entire combustion process in engine cylinders. This phenomenon leads, among others, to changes regarding the density of pollutant emissions from exhaust gases. In this context, this paper presents experimental researches made using the simulation of faults that may occur in the control system to highlight their influence on the concentration of engine emissions.

The article discusses the issue of improving the accuracy and quality of control of the drive of network pumps as part of ship thermal installations in the ship's heating system by using an adaptive automatic control system. When using classical control systems based on PID regulators to control the power of the electric motor according to the criterion of providing a given pressure in the heat supply system under conditions of sharply varying thermal loads, situations of system maladjustment may occur due to the appearance of additional pressure in the thermal installation during thermal expansion of the coolant. To ensure the reliability and trouble-free operation of ship thermal installations under abruptly variable loads, the authors consider the possibility of using an adaptive control system to control the power of an electric drive. The article describes a control scheme with adaptation of the PID controller coefficients based on a neural network (neural network optimizer). The neural network optimizer was used as a superstructure over the PID controller in the power control circuit of a network pump as part of a ship's thermal installation. The dependences of the characteristics of control systems on the structure and parameters of the modified criteria for the accuracy and quality of control are considered. Adaptation of control parameters allows achieving the desired parameters with lower power consumption while maintaining the level of reliability and eliminating deregulation of the control system at abruptly varying thermal loads.

The advantages and disadvantages of disk tillage in severe operating conditions of forestry are examined. Various methods proposed by scientists to eliminate the problems of weak deepens capacity of working bodies of tillage equipment of this type and their fragile progress at a given depth of processing are described. These proposed solutions make heavier disc tools, which leads to an increase in dynamic loads on the working bodies and to increased fuel consumption of mounted tractor. Developed special devices complicate the design of disk tillage equipment and their production.

The possibility of improving the control quality of the rotor speed of a gas turbine engine due to the introduction of a two-coordinate fuel metering unit is shown. The introduction of two controlled signals to the dosing needle and to the constant-differential valve will make it possible to constructively perform a "coarse" and "fine" control of the amount of fuel consumption while maintaining the specified accuracy with respect to the speed of rotation.
