<span><em>Education thought of KH. M. Hasyim Asy’ari is the concept of character </em><span><em>education, but also consistently gives positive contribution to the Indonesia </em><span><em>civilization. Its dedication not only focuses on one field, but also on </em><span><em>education, politic, social, religion, physical confrontation, organization, </em><span><em>and the other intellectual works. Not only to educate young generation </em><span><em>through Tebuireng Pesantren that was built, but for next generation, KH. </em><span><em>M. Hasyim Asy’ari has inherited many books or holy books that able as </em><span><em>main reference to search alternative solution of various problems that</em><br /><span><em>faced by nation. KH. M. Hasyim Asy’ari has been given fundamental </em><span><em>conceptual framework for national education. Technical and operational </em><span><em>steps must still be reviewed to implement the educational thinking. </em><span><em>Figure of NU’s founding at some point want to do the balancing for </em><span><em>education in Indonesia. Not only formality aspects, but also substance</em><br /><span><em>of the meaning of education must be internalized and implemented in </em><span><em>the life of students. Character education is a vital instrument in determining the progress of a nation. Therefore the government needs to build educational institutions in order to produce good human resources that are ready to oversee and deliver the nation at a progressive level. It’s just that in reality, national education is not in line with the ideals of national education because the output is not in tune with moral values on the one hand and the potential for individuals to compete in world intellectual order on the other hand. Therefore, as a solution to these problems is the need for the applicationof character education from an early age.

Children’s good characters should be formed since their early time growing up because it is an individual’s set of psychological characteristics that influence person’s ability and inclination for function morally, as Marvin Berkowitz said (William Damond, 2002). Besides, Dimermen (2009:9), educational prationers identified 10 characters which have to be developed in children such as: 1) respect, 2) responsibility, 3) honesty, 4) empathy, 5) fairness, 6) initiative, 7) courage, 8) perseverance, 9) optimism, 10) integrity. These characters can be transferred by school as an agent of education, called character education. Megawangi (2004: 95) said that character education is a way to educate children in order to decide wise decision and practice it in regular life, so they can give positive contribution for environment. Moreover, character education is an education to develop good character from children, make them able to judge which one right or wrong, care deeply about the right and then doing what they believe to be right. Shortly, character education can be internalized habituation about what is right, so that student become understand (cognitive) about what is right and what is wrong, and can feel (affective) the values of good thing and always trying to do that (psychomotor). Character education has to consist moral knowledge, moral feeling, and moral action. It is related to the habit, so it has to be practiced all the time. Moreover, build the good character needs communities’ character including family, school, religious institution, information media, government, and all supported component close to the young generation. The roles of school in this case are stated in learning process, habituation, extracurricular, and socialize. To develop character from children, school should not create a new curriculum but must integrate all national system which has been strong basic in formal education world. That is the implication of the character education. Last but not least, the best way in forming good character for children is through the model. Teacher here is the main component who plays important role in giving kinds of good examples, even by interaction with the student, routine activities, or spontaneous and incidental activities in the school. From those points above we hope that our young generation has much capability not only in cognitive side, but also in their attitude, manner, and their personality. This study to analyze and describe the educational values of characters contained in java textbooks of elementary school of curriculum DIY. This research expected to produce the findings on any character education in accodance with the guide lines of character education and culture of the ministry of National Education and Culture. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative approach in order to describe the educational values of characters cntained in Java textbooks of Elementary School of Curriculum DIY the published by Erlangga, Tiga Serangkai, and Yudistira. Based on research that has been done is produced findings that not all the values of character education according to the guidelines of character education and culture of the Ministry of National Education and Culture totaling eighteen value of character education, contained in the Java language textbook published by Yudistira, Erlangga, and the Tiga Serangkai. Therefore, researchers gave suggestions to the author of textbooks, in order to pay more attention to the contents of the content of a book he wrote. Especially in terms of integrating the values of education. then for teachers, to be more selective in choosing books that will be used to teach. On the other hand, teachers should know and understand the values of character education contained in the book uses.Keywords: character, textbooks, javanesse language

Based on the goals of national education, education in schools must be balanced with character education for students, because it is not only about academic learning. Character education is an effort to make students become the next generation of the nation who has the ability to lead a better life. Character education does not only teach about science, but also plays an important role in shaping the nation's character. The function of character education is to develop the potential to become a person who has a good heart, behaves well, thinks well, and improves the nation's civilization to become a competitive person in world relations. teach. Learning activities in the classroom are replaced with online activities. Thus, teachers get new challenges on how to teach character education to students during this pandemic. This research is descriptive qualitative to find out how the implementation of responsible character education during the covid 19 pandemic is through online learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Sidoarjo.

This article aims to examine the importance of character education to create Indonesian people who have knowledge, have noble morals, have personality and character. The writing of this article uses the librarian method and in-depth study of the literature. The issue of the character of students and the character of the nation is currently the most important issue for the world of education in the country. Education includes two main interests, namely the development of individual potential and the inheritance of cultural values. There are three foundations that make up the philosophy of education, namely: the ontological, epistemological and axiological foundation. A person who is studying education is required to think about essential problems regarding education. Various problems of the nation today can only be fixed by individuals of the younger generation with character: smart, quality, ethical, disciplined, honest, hard work and moral. It is hoped that the development of Indonesia's young generation can become the identity of the nation's children in the era of globalization and acculturation of world culture, and can encourage independence in an effort to increase the competitiveness of Indonesia's young generation. The back and forth of the nation's future is very much determined by the quality of human resources who are intelligent, have character, have good character, in accordance with the philosophy and goals of national education.

<p>Vocational School (SMK; Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan) is an educational unit that aims to generate graduates all set to the workforce. Thus, the success of learning process in the School will affect the success in the future workforce. One of the problems facing on education field is the poor quality of the student's character, since the character education is a major task on education at the same time is the mandate of the National Education System. SMK Plus Bina Teknologi Ibadurrahman YLPI Sukabumi (Engineering Vocational School Ibadurrahman YLPI Plus Sukabumi) is one of many schools that cares about the character education boarding-school-based. This study aims to determine the goals, curriculum, programs, methods and evaluation tools on character education and its implications for the students of Engineering Vocational School Ibadurrahman YLPI Plus Sukabumi. The study also aims to formulate the concept of character education boarding-school-based which can be implemented in the other Vocational School. The approach used is qualitative by using the students of Engineering Vocational School Ibadurrahman YLPI Plus Sukabumi as respondents. The main data collection techniques are questionnaires to students and observation and in-depth interviews with school administrators. The analysis technique is qualitative analysis which is the sensitivity of researcher becomes the most dominant element. The results of study in the field showed that the goal of character education in Engineering Vocational School Ibadurrahman YLPI Plus Sukabumi is to foster students to be virtuous human (<em>Muttaqien</em>) intelligent, noble and have the skills and interests for the benefit of mankind, by having ten characters. In addition, they are also required to achieve a goal that is both social and spiritual. The curriculum that is used, not only containing of the field of exacts, social, personality, and religion, but also integrated with the curriculum of boarding school. So that the program which organized by boarding school activities can be adjusted in line with the main goals of Vocational School system in general. The method used consists of a variety of methods with emphasis on methods of habituation. The evaluation tools used are in writing and not writing. At the side of the implications of the character education boarding-school-based is still weak, this shows by the evident from the number of students who have not yet established character which means they are lacking consistency. Based on these findings, the managers of the institutions should be aware of the decline in the character of their student. Therefore, it is recommended to organize a design of planning for character education in the future, since the vocational students will be in going to the workforce. On the other hand, the concept of character education should be emphasized to honesty, trust, self-awareness, love, affection, courteous, polite, patient, disciplined, independent, humble, and hard working.</p>

Abstract: An issue of character education in Indonesia has been widely discussed since the character education movement launched on May 2, 2010. Character education has become an important part of the national education system and become preventive cure on various social ills. Islamic education has some appropriate terminologies used in the character learning approach, such as: tilâwah, ta’lîm’, tarbiyah, ta’dîb, tazkiyah dan tadlrîb. Recitations (tilâwahi) is related to the ability to read; ta’lim related to the development of intelligence (intellectual quotient); tarbiyah regarding care and affection instinctively, ta'dib associated with the development of emotional intelligence (emotional quotient); tazkiyah related to the development of spiritual intelligence (spiritual quotient), and tadlrib associated with physical intelligence or skills (physical quotient or adversity quotient). The integration of character education in all subjects at the school is regarded as one way to improve the competence of cognitive, affective and psychomotor of learners equally. This study discusses the system of Islamic boarding schools with the characteristics, clerics, mosques and dormitories to be an alternative solution to implement character education in such effective, consistent and sustainable ways. The system of Pesantren will optimize the educator's role as an educator, conservator, innovators, transformers, organizers and all stakeholders of madrasah so that its value or characters can be internalized and implemented by students optimally.

ABSTRACT Character education is nowadays being promoted in national education system since it is consi- dered to be able to enhance the character of present and future generation. Character building cannot be separated from culture. In this case, Ringkang Gumiwang Arts House (RGAH) concerns on cha- racter education by reintroducing mother language (Sundanese) as an effort to build one’s culture. Reconstructing Sundanese play is conducted as an attempt of retaining the existence of Sundanese culture. The performance of Sundanese play grows into media of maintaining language and arts for young generation. Arts inheritance method is implemented to explore and apply the sustainment of arts in the society. Understanding of values in the performance is expected to be applied in the youth life. Therefore, the performance appreciation run by RGAH can be a model in transmitting values of a society. Plays (Sandiwara) become a good vehicle to increase appreciation among the youth. Keywords: Sundanese plays, values transmission, young generation  ABSTRAK Pendidikan karakter kini tengah digalakkan dalam sistem pendidikan nasional karena dapat meningkatkan mutu karakter generasi sekarang dan masa datang. Padepokan Seni Ringkang Gumiwang (PSRG) peduli pada pendidikan karakter dengan mengenalkan kembali bahasa ibu(Sunda) sebagai upaya membangun budaya sendiri. Rekonstruksi Sandiwara Sunda dilakukan se- bagai upaya pemertahanan eksistensi budaya Sunda. Pertunjukan sandiwara Sunda men- jadi media pemertahanan bahasa dan seni kepada generasi muda. Metode Pewarisan kese- nian digunakan untuk menggali dan mengaplikasikan keberlangsungan sebuah kesenian di masyarakat. Pemahaman nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalam pertunjukan diharapkan dapat diaplikasi dalam kehidupan siswa (generasi muda). Oleh karena itu, apresiasi per- tunjukan yang dilakukan oleh PSRG dapat menjadi model dalam transmisi nilai pada ma- syarakat. Sandiwara menjadi wahana tepat dalam peningkatan apresiasidi kalangan ge- nerasi muda. Kata kunci: Sandiwara Sunda, transmisi nilai, generasi muda

AbstractManajemen adalah suatu upaya atau usaha dalam mengelola sebuah organisasi atau lembaga secara efektif, efisien, dan profesional. Sedangkan manajemen pendidikan karakter adalah sebuah proses yang dilakukan secara bersama, melibatkan banyak orang , dan lembaga dalam rangka mewujudkan cita-cita tujuan pendidikan nasional, agar peserta didik menjadi manusia yang beriman, bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, dan berakhlak mulia. Pendidikan karakter bukan hanya mengajarkan kecerdasan intelektual semata kepada peserta didik ( murid ), akan tetapi juga pendidikan karakter menanamkan kesadaran akan pentingnya nilai-nilai moral, sopan santun, budi pekerti, toleran, moderat, rendah hati, dan berakhlak mulia. Di sisi lain, jauh sebelum manusia mengenal istilah pendidikan karakter,  Al-Qur’an telah mengajarkan kepada umat manusia akan pentingnya pendidikan karakter,yaitu : agar manusia pandai bersyukur, atas segala nikmat pemberian Tuhan, berbuat baik kepada kedua ibu dan bapak, serta peduli terhadap sesama. Al-Qur’an juga membimbing manusia agar menjadi pribadi-pribadi yang unggul. Yaitu pribadi yang gemar membaca, yang mengenal jati dirinya,mengenal Tuhannya,suka menulis, dan penelitian menjadi kebutuhan hidupnya. Even the hadith of the Prophet clearly and emphatically explains, that since birth humans have brought the potential for character education, namely: having a good conscience and good thinking, so that they can develop their potential in accordance with the demands and developments of the times

This paper describes the construct of Islamic character education based on the local culture of the indigenous Lampung people. Four constructs of character education are presented in the Piil Pesenggiri, namely Nemui Nyimah which contains the character of a sense of acceptance, including; hospitality, hospitality, generosity, courtesy, mutual respect, respect, love for friendship, submission and submission to the Creator of the Universe and His creations. Nengah Nyappur contains adaptive character values ​​in interacting, including; willingness to open up, have a high tolerance, like to deliberate, have an attitude and sociable behavior, easy to get along with, familiar or friendly, and a sense of family. Sakai Sambaiyan contains high solidarity character values, including; mutual assistance, please help, work together, give each other something that is needed by the other party. Juluk Adok contains the spirit of achievement character values, including; persistent and hard working, likes to participate, has an honorary degree. In the context of education, Piil Pesenggiri becomes an inseparable part of the realization of the nation's character education. Piil Pesenggiri becomes a principle of self-esteem which is the culmination and reflection of the accumulation of noble and noble forms of activity amid society. In the context of geneology education in the character of Lampung indigenous people, Piil Pesenggiri can be a measure or dignity for someone amid their life activities. Substantially, Piil Pesenggiri in the context of character education becomes the "pillar of the teacher" that teaches the principles of consistency, acceptance, and equality.   Keywords: Islamic character education, lampung cultural values, pesenggiri piil, and the philosophy of life of indigenous peoples
