This study aims to describe prophetic ethics in the novel Di Kaki Bukit Cibalak by Ahmad Tohari as a source of character education. This study uses a qualitative approach. From the results of the study, it was found that the ethics of humanization in the novel Di Kaki Bukit Cibalak covers the personality aspect in the form of not distinguishing between humans. The liberation ethics of the novel Di Kaki Bukit Cibalak found include forms of activity that free oneself and others from political oppression and economic injustice. The transcendence ethic was found to include a sense of surrender to God in any situation, namely qanaah and tawakkal. In post-pandemic situations that still use distance learning, literary works can be an alternative as a medium for planting character education. The three aspects contained in the novel Di Kaki Bukit Cibalak can be used as learning media in instilling the components of social care education.

The aim of this research is to obtain a deep understanding of character education in And The Mountains Echoed Novel written by Khalid Hosseini. This research used qualitative approach, content analysis method, through structuralism and  semiotics study. Structurally, character education in this novel found in the theme, the plot, the characters and characterization, and the setting. Semiotically, the researcher found semiotics signs in And The Mountains Echoed novel relating to the character education, namely, index, symbol, and icon. The data were collected through a carefull reading of the novel, identification, and classification. The values taken are the combination between character education value from Pusat Kurikulum Balitbang Diknas and Lickona’s. However not all values are captured, among the 28 values, only thirteen caught from the novel. The values are hard working, religious, responsible, love, integrity, social care, never give up, thanks be to Allah, appreciating achievement, wisdom, creative, curiousity, and friendly/communicative. From the structure of the novel, the character education implemented explicitly and implicitly in the theme, the character and characterization, the setting, and the plot. While from the semiotics, the character education mostly found  in the form of index, followed by symbol,and then icon.

The purpose of this study is to describe the character values ​​in the novel Anak-Langit by Mohd Amin MS and to foster and apply character to students of MI, because it is seen from the phenomena that occur in Indonesia today such as the occurrence of bad habits , fighting, cheating, dishonesty, and disrespect for parents. This study uses a qualitative approach, with content analysis methods. The type of research used is literature study. The technique of collecting data is documentation study, which means that the data used can be done by examining children's novels from heaven and looking for relevant documents or books and literature. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification. Based on the results of this study, it shows that there are 18 characters in the novel Anak-Langit, namely religious, honest, responsibility, discipline, hard-working, creative, independent, curiosity, fond of reading, respect for achievement, democratic, social care, friendly. communicative, tolerant, spirit of nationality, love the country, love peace, and care for the environment. As for implementing these 18 characters, it is in activities or programs provided in the school environment such as extracurricular, intraculricular and other routine activities that can be used as a habit for MI. Keyword: Value of Character Education, Novel Anak-anak Langit, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai karakter yang ada dalam novel Anak-anak Langit Karya Mohd Amin MS serta untuk membina dan menerapkan karakter kepada siswa MI, karena dilihat dari fenomena yang terjadi di Indonesia saat ini seperti terjadinya kebiasaan-kebiasaan buruk, perkelahian, menyontek, tidak jujur, dna tidak menghormati orangtua. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode analisis isi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan studi dokumentasi yang artinya data-data yang digunakan dapat dilakukan dengan menelaah novel anak-anak langit dan mencari dokumen atau buku yang relevan dan studi pustaka. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada 18 karakter yang ada didalam novel Anak-anak Langit yaitu religius, jujur, tanggung jawab, disiplin, bekerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, rasa ingin tahu, gemar membaca, menghargai prestasi, demokratis, peduli sosial, bersahabat/komunikatif, toleransi, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, cinta damai, dan peduli lingkungan. Adapun dalam menerapkan ke-18 karakter ini adalah dalam kegiatan-kegiatan atau program-program yang disediakan di lingkungan sekolah seperti ekstrakulikuler, intrakulikuler serta kegiatan-kegiatan rutin lainnya yang dapat dijadikan kebiasaan untuk siswa MI. Character education is a form of cultivation of noble character in students. The aspect of 'social care' character is one of the most important of the eighteen character education in Indonesia, this is because the sense of sensitivity and help towards others in the environment around students begins to diminish. There are various kinds of media to succeed in internalizing character education, one of which is a novel. The novel Merindu Baginda Nabi by Habiburrahman El-Shirazy can be said to be a complete novel in instilling character in Indonesia. Therefore, researchers will explore how the value of social care character education in the novel Merindu Baginda Nabi. The research method used is qualitative descriptive qualitative research. The novel Merindu Baginda Nabi as a source of data in this study, in the form of dialogue and narrative stories about character education about social care. Based on the results of the analysis, seventeen data were found that were divided into four important parts, namely: giving help to others, caring for others, mutual respect, and sympathy.

This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of educational values in the novel Madogiwa No Totto-chan by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi with a qualitative approach that includes educational values in terms of the structure of the novel. Research methods. This research is a library research or library research that uses a qualitative approach with content analysis techniques. Conclusion of research findings: The main theme of this novel is EDUCATION, education that frees students to be creative, while the sub-theme is education must be adjusted to the development of the child's personality. The credentials found are: A mother must be wise in educating and caring for her children with special needs. A school principal or a teacher should be a leader who is brave to act in accordance with their respective beliefs and life principles. The educational values in this novel can be used as examples of learning in schools to help children with problems (special needs). An educator should be fun and not scold his students because educating children is not with anger but with advice, praise, and trust. Make kids confident, responsible, love each other, and help each other, introduce them to nature because nature stores various sources of knowledge. Educational values found are educational values related to religious education values, moral education values, social education values, and beauty education values. Recommendation: Madogiwa No Totto-chan's autobiographical novel (Totto-chan Little Girl in the Window) can be used as a learning tool for character education in schools in Indonesia because this Japanese novel has raised educational values that contain a number of noble values. One of the noble values is the value of education in the novel that abstracts the reality of Japanese society's life. This research was motivated by the problem of being able to find the values of character education in the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. The purpose of this study is to describe the values of character education in the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. This research is a qualitative research using content analysis method. The object of this research is the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. The data in this study are words, phrases, sentences and discourses which are the values of character education. The data source in this research is the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. The data techniques used are reading novels, marking data related to the value of character education, recording data, making inventory, and classifying. The results of this study indicate that there are ten values of character education found in the novel Gunung Ungaran. In addition to the value of character education, other character education values are also found, such as: 1) religious, 2) Tolerance, 3) Work hard, 4) Independent, 5) Curiosity, 6) Love the homeland, 7) Friendly/communicative, 8) Caring for the environment, 9) Social care, 10) Responsibility.Keywords: Education, Character, Novel.

Character education is closely related to moral education, which is to shape and train individual abilities continuously for self-improvement towards a better life. Novel is a literary work that can convey the values of character education. The research aims to analyzing the values of character education in the novel 5 cm by Donny dhirgantoro. This research is a qualitative study using a descriptive design method. the data analysis technique by reading the entire data, analyzing the data in more detail and restating the data by described and interpreting the data. The result of this study are the value of character education  contained in the novel “ 5 cm” by Donny Dhirgantoro, namely, religious, hard work, love to read, friendly and communicative, social care,  and love  the homeland.

This study aims to describe the character education in the novel Mendayung Impian and Chiang Mai. The novel Mendayung Impian contains the persistence of a character to achieve goals, while the Chiang Mai novel contains the search for the identity of a young man in facing life. The method used in this research is qualitative research. The validity of the data is in the form of theoretical triangulation. The results of this study are that there are three values of character education that stand out, namely hard work, social care, and being friendly.

ABSTRACT The data of this study consisted of words, sentences and discourses that featured events and figures that changed the values of character education included in Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih Karya M. Rasyid Manggis Dt. Rajo Penghulu. The technique of collecting this research data, namely reading and understanding, inventorying, and retrieving data relating to character education values in Sabai Nan Aluih's kaba and adoption when reading appreciation. The technique of analyzing the data of this study, namely data that has been collected and classified, is then analyzed based on theory. The method used is descriptive method, according to the purpose of the study. Based on the results of the study, the values of character education studied in kaba Sabai Nan Aluih by M. Rasyid Manggis Dt. Rajo Penghulu found. First, data that contains the value of honest character education. Second, the data that contains the value of the education of the character of hard work. Third, data that contains the value of Mandiri character education. Fourth, data that contains the value of Democratic character education. Fifth, the data containing the values of peace-loving character education. Sixth, the data that contains the value of social care education. <p class="apa">This research aims at describing the factors influencing the extracurricular activities especially scouting. This research also aims at describing the Scouts skills that can form the students’ character. This research is also to describe the strategies for the formation of the students’ character through scout activities. This research was a qualitative approach. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The collected data were then analysed descriptively by using three ways namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. The results show that the implementation of character education through scout activities at Junior High school (SMPN 1 Maros) on the aspects of supporting factors is still not optimal. The supporting infrastructure is still lacking. The ratio between the scout leader and students is not comparable. In addition, the amount of funding and financing sources is lacking. This research also found that the Scout skills such as rigging, doing first aid, decoding, camping, marching, navigating and mapping can shape the students’ characters. The characters that can be formed are thoroughness, patience, cooperation, responsibility, social care, courage, confidence, perseverance, creative, religious, patriotism, environmental awareness, independence, discipline, curiosity, and hard work. This research also shows that character formation strategies are intervention, exemplary, habituation, facilitation, strengthening, and the involvement of other parties.</p>

This study examines the importance of character education in students of Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially those who are currently undergoing the online learning process. The character of education is really needed not only in school or college but also at home and in the social environment itself. Furthermore, students in colleges are no longer monitored by their parents during the learning process so that character or manners while studying are no longer something that must be observed and considered important in distance learning. This study is a literature study sourced from library materials using a qualitative approach. Thus, the research activity is the exploration of a number of data both primary and secondary with some concrete steps such as reading and studying primary data in the form of research books, theses or dissertations related to character education and its relationship with Pandemic Covid-19. Character education for students is needed because so far students are only preoccupied with lecture materials in the classroom, but pay less attention to the meaning and value behind the process itself. The situation becomes more difficult when classroom learning turns into distance learning and students cannot be fully monitored by lecturers and less participation from parents who pay less attention to character education at home.
