This study examined the importance of character education in an Islamic college, especially today or which was more popular with the term of a milenial generation. The first and foremost goal of an education is the formation of students’ character (college students). Religion theory states that the goal of human moral development is the mission of religion itself, in accordance with the purpose of the Prophet Muhammad’s sending to this earth. A character education is a conscious and planned effort to instill values so that those values are internalized in the college students and to produce a good behavior or in the religious language is often called as Muhsin. Therefore, a character education is essentially an education which seeks to instill and spread virtues or in this case a Rahmatan Lil’alamin. This research was a literature review (library research) which was sourced from the library materials using a qualitative approach. Thus, the research activity was an exploration of a number of data both primary and secondary with several concrete steps such as reading and in-depth studying the primary data such as books of the research results, theses or dissertations related to the character education and Islamic education. Character education for college students is needed because all this time students are only preoccupied with lecture materials in the classroom, but lack of attention to the meaning and value behind the process it self.

AbstractThis study is motivated by the rampant violence among students. Islamic Education (PAI) as part of character education is seen to give a hand in influencing students’ attitudes and actions. This study aims to answer the question on how to shape the potential radicalism in the material books of PAI for Elementary Schools. Through qualitative approach with library research method, the study found the value of radicalism in the Islamic education material. The radical value which may affect the attitude of the students is the attitude of religious militancy driven by the spirit of jihad and towards other group / faiths, as well as narrow religious understanding. AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh maraknya tindak kekerasan yang dilakukan oleh para pelajar. Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) sebagai bagian dari pendidikan karakter dipandang ikut memberikan andil dalam mempengaruhi sikap dan tindakan siswa. Penelitian ini dimakudkan untuk menjawab permasalahan bagaimana bentuk potensi radikalisme dalam materi buku Ajar PAI Sekolah Dasar. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode library recearch, penelitian ini menemukan adanya nilai radikalisme dalam materi pembejaran pendidikan Agama Islam di Sekolah Dasar. Nilai radikal yang dapat mempengaruhi sikap siswa yaitu sikap militansi keagamaan, yang didorong oleh ajaran jihat dan anti terhadap kelompok/penganut agama lain, serta pemahaman keagamaan yang sempit.

This study aims to: 1) find out Luqman Al-Hakim's moral message contained in Q.S. Luqman verses 12 to 19. 2) know how Islamic education is from a moral aspect, 3) know the moral message of Luqman Al-Hakim in Islamic education. This type of research is qualitative research using a library research approach/literature review, with the primary data being the Alquran Surah Luqman verses 12 to 19, and secondary data is the Al-Maroghi interpretation by Ahmad Mustofa Al-Maraghi, the interpretation of M. Quraisy Shihab by M Quraish Shihab and Ibn Kathir's commentary by Imam Abi Al-Hasan Ali Bin Ahmad, books, and scientific works, journals, and various other sources, related to research. The results showed that there are four moral messages contained in Surah Luqman verses 12 to 19 according to Islamic education. The four moral messages are in accordance with the basis of Islamic education, namely instilling aqidah in children, teaching them to be grateful and devoted to Allah and their parents, accustoming them to doing good deeds from an early age, and teaching them noble morals and the ethics of interacting with others.

This study examines the importance of character education in students of Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially those who are currently undergoing the online learning process. The character of education is really needed not only in school or college but also at home and in the social environment itself. Furthermore, students in colleges are no longer monitored by their parents during the learning process so that character or manners while studying are no longer something that must be observed and considered important in distance learning. This study is a literature study sourced from library materials using a qualitative approach. Thus, the research activity is the exploration of a number of data both primary and secondary with some concrete steps such as reading and studying primary data in the form of research books, theses or dissertations related to character education and its relationship with Pandemic Covid-19. Character education for students is needed because so far students are only preoccupied with lecture materials in the classroom, but pay less attention to the meaning and value behind the process itself. The situation becomes more difficult when classroom learning turns into distance learning and students cannot be fully monitored by lecturers and less participation from parents who pay less attention to character education at home.

This study examines psychology as an approach in Islamic studies, especially in Islamic education. Islamic psychology and education basically have the same pattern in seeing various cases in scientific buildings, so that in Islamic studies such as Islamic education, an approach is required to look at deeper social phenomena, namely by using a psychological approach. This research is literature study (library research) that is research which come from library materials by using qualitative approach. Therefore, what is done is the exploration of some data both primary and secondary data with concrete steps as follows: read and examine in depth primary data such as books which is the result of research, thesis or dissertation related to psychology and education of Islam. Therefore, psychology as an approach can give birth to findings that fit the context. In Islamic studies, especially Islamic education can be access for other sciences to serve as a tool in viewing various social problems. It then happens with the psychology and education of Islam because it gave birth to the psychology of Islamic education.

This study tries to unravel the problems of street children related to character building, especially in the aspects of personal and social skills. So we need a model of character education that is considered suitable to be implemented in street children. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research methods. The results of this study conclude that, Among the character education models that can be implemented on street children are problem-based learning models, emphasizing more on the application of problem solving methods or problem solving which by John Dewey consists of six learning steps as follows: 1) formulating problems; 2) analyze the problem; 3) formulate hypotheses; 4) collect data; 5) hypothesis testing; and 6) formulate problem solving recommendations.

the existence of differences of view to education children character, and can be classified in several categories and theories. This difference is seen as some figures say families or tualah people are the most important in providing character education. Others argue sekolahlah that is most vital in respect of containers of character education. This article uses a qualitative approach, with the kind of Library Research. Therefore, the overall data focuses on books or papers relating to discussion of "rightmost character Education". Quant à la méthode d’analyse de données technique utilisée est descriptive analyse qualitative méthodes, car les données sont traitées sous la forme d’un écrit de données telles que : livres, revues, articles de journaux, caractère education curriculum directives structures formelles en 2013 en ligne En ligne) et comprend le produit brut standard sous forme de législation relative à la formation du caractère. From the results of the discussion and anlisa above, concrete conclusions can be taken, that the person in charge character education namely Educational Institutions not the independence of each other, but rather inherently. Summary this rests on a concrete analysis of the various figures such as: Thomas Lickona, Jun Sung Hong and James Garbarino, David w. Johnson, and Roger t. Johnson, even from muslim figures like Abdul Majid, Jamal ‘Abdur Rahman, Moh. Solikodin Djaelani, Muchlas Samani dan Abdullah Nashih ‘Ulwan, first product reinforced by legislation which clearly explains the RI character education is the shared responsibility of educational institutions.

This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of educational values in the novel Madogiwa No Totto-chan by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi with a qualitative approach that includes educational values in terms of the structure of the novel. Research methods. This research is a library research or library research that uses a qualitative approach with content analysis techniques. Conclusion of research findings: The main theme of this novel is EDUCATION, education that frees students to be creative, while the sub-theme is education must be adjusted to the development of the child's personality. The credentials found are: A mother must be wise in educating and caring for her children with special needs. A school principal or a teacher should be a leader who is brave to act in accordance with their respective beliefs and life principles. The educational values in this novel can be used as examples of learning in schools to help children with problems (special needs). An educator should be fun and not scold his students because educating children is not with anger but with advice, praise, and trust. Make kids confident, responsible, love each other, and help each other, introduce them to nature because nature stores various sources of knowledge. Educational values found are educational values related to religious education values, moral education values, social education values, and beauty education values. Recommendation: Madogiwa No Totto-chan's autobiographical novel (Totto-chan Little Girl in the Window) can be used as a learning tool for character education in schools in Indonesia because this Japanese novel has raised educational values that contain a number of noble values. One of the noble values is the value of education in the novel that abstracts the reality of Japanese society's life. Democracy in Indonesia is being tested. There are several the serious issues which is  highlighted recently such as money politic, political ethics, corrupt, and one of the cases of blasphemy. These problems need to be finished withthe education activities to overcome the nation's problems closely related to the issue of democracy. With the Nurcholish’s concept of democracy, it is hoped to give an awareness that the democracy is the concept of Islam on the Qoran and Sunnah. Besides Islamic education can offer a new theoretical construction of democracy that can provide alternative solutions to the problems of contemporary society in Indonesia. This research uses a library research. The data is obtained by using a literature review. Then, it is understood and analyzed theoritically and philosophically. The result ofresearch is the democratic Islamic education in the idea’s Nurcholish Madjid is Islamic education which prioritizes the principle of togetherness, change and development. Islamic education also needs to instill Indonesian-ness and modernity values in addition to Islam itself.

Duties and responsibilities of teachers are not limited in society, even teachers included in this case are essentially strategic components that have an important role and responsibility in determining the progress of the nation's life and become the foundation of expectations of children's parents to make their children good children (anaks haleh) who know how to carry out their religious obligations and have a noble character (akhlak al-karimah). This study aims to determine; What are the Responsibilities of Teachers in Islamic Education according to Hasan Langgulung's Thought ?. What are the Responsibilities of Teachers in Islamic Education according to Buya Hamka's Thought ?. What is the relevance of Hasan Langgulung and Buya Hamka's thoughts on the Responsibilities of Teachers in Islamic Education ?. This research is a library research that uses various sources of literature as a source of research data. Primary data sources are the book Hamka Institution of Life and Budi and Hasan Langgulung Man and Education, An Analysis of Psychology, Philosophy and Education. While secondary data sources in research are books, articles, magazines, newspapers, or other sources, which are then drawn from these data. Based on the results of the processed data, it can be seen that the responsibilities of Teachers in Islamic Education according to Buya Hamka's thinking based on the explanation above, then the responsibility of educators namely educating: a). Faith Education; b). Moral education (morals); c). Physical education (physical and spiritual); d). Community social education; e). Intellectual education. While the Responsibility of Teachers in Islamic Education according to Hasan Langgulung's Thought covers at least 7 things, namely: a). Religious education which includes religious education, aqeedah and worship; b). Moral education (morals); c). Physical education which includes physical education and health; d). Psychological education consisting of psychiatric education and feelings; e). Community social education; f). Intellectual education. The relevance of the thoughts of Buya Hamka and Hasan Langgulung about the Responsibilities of Teachers in Islamic Education can be seen that Education basically revolves around science, charity, morals, and justice. All three are concepts that must be interconnected in the education process. Education for humans is not only to fulfill internal interests as dynamic creatures, but also external interests, namely the orderly and harmonious organization of human civilization.
