<p>Based on teaching observation, some students were not able to orally deliver their ideas in English class. One of the reasons is because the students are not getting enough exposure to speaking in English during the class. The aim of this research is to improve students’ speaking skills through the implementation of the Round Robin Technique with peer feedback. The research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) of Pelton’s conducted at Sekolah Palembang Harapan, Palembang. The subject of the research is seven students who are not able to orally deliver their ideas in English class. The instruments used are mentor feedback, students’ questionnaire, speaking rubric, mentor observation sheet, and mentor checklist. The result showed that by applying the Round Robin Technique with peer feedback, their speaking skills are improved. There are some aspects that should be considered when  implementing the Round Robin Technique with peer feedback such as the setting of the group, roles of each group member, time given, and the explanation of the materials.</p><p><strong>BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: </strong>Berdasarkan hasil observasi dalam mengajar, beberapa siswa tidak mampu untuk menyampaikan gagasan mereka secara oral dalam kelas Bahasa Inggris. Salah satu alasannya adalah karena siswa-siswa tersebut tidak mendapatkan paparan yang cukup untuk berbicara dalam Bahasa Inggris selama pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa melalui penerapan Teknik Round Robin dengan umpan balik teman sejawat.Penelitian ini adalah sebuah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton, terlaksana di Sekolah Palembang Harapan, Palembang. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah tujuh siswa yang tidak mampu untuk menyampaikan gagasannya dalam kelas Bahasa Inggris. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah umpan balik mentor, angket sisiwa, rubrik penilaian keterampilan berbicara, lembar observasi mentor, dan lembar ceklis mentor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menerapkan Teknik Round Robin dengan umpan balik teman sejawat, keterampilan berbicara siswa meningkat. Terdapat beberapa aspek yang harus dipertimbangkan dalam penerapan Teknik Round Robin dengan umpan balik teman sejawat seperti pengaturan kelompok, peran dari setiap anggota kelompok, waktu yang diberikan, dan penjelasan materi.</p>

This research is a Classroom Action Research which aims to improve students' speaking skills by using the Time Token model. The subjects in this study were students of class X SMA Negeri 5 Medan who collected 35 students. The tool used in data collection is observations made during the learning process in order to get the speaking skills of the main students of anecdotal language texts. This study consisted of 2 cycles, namely cycles I and II. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Based on the research, it was shown that the initial observations obtained the following average values: In the first cycle of meeting 1 there were 9 people (26%) who were skilled at speaking, 26 people (74%) were less skilled at speaking. conducted on the teacher showed 65 and observations of the activities obtained 56.87. In cycle 1 meeting 2 there were 18 students (51%) who were declared skilled at speaking, 17 people (49%) were less skilled at speaking. conducted on the teacher showed a value of 67.5 and observations of activities obtained from the value of 65.50. In the second cycle of meeting 1 there were 29 students (83%) who were skilled at speaking, 6 people (17%) were less skilled at speaking. which was carried out on teacher activities showed a value of 75 and student activities showed a value of 73.87. In the second cycle of meeting 2 there were 33 students (100%) who were declared skilled in speaking. And the results of observations of teacher activities show a value of 85, and student activities show a value of 85.75. Based on the results of this study, it can be said that using the Time Token learning model can improve students' speaking skills in Indonesian subjects on the subject matter of anecdotal texts in class X SMA Negeri 5 Medan. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa dengan menggunakan model Time Token. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Medan yang berjumlah 35 orang siswa. Alat yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah observasi yang dilakukan pada saat pembelajaran berlangsung guna mendapatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa pokok bahasan teks anekdot. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus, yaitu siklus I dan II. Setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada observasi awal diperolah nilai rata-rata sebagai berikut : Pada siklus I pertemuan 1 terdapat 9 orang siswa (26%) yang dinyatakan terampil berbicara, 26 orang siswa (74%) yang kurang terampil berbicara. Pengamatan yang dilakukan terhadap guru menunjukkan nilai 65 dan pengamatan terhadap aktivitas siswa diperoleh nilai 56,87. Pada siklus 1 pertemuan 2 terdapat 18 orang siswa (51%) yang dinyatakan terampil berbicara, 17 orang siswa (49%) yang kurang terampil berbicara. Pada siklus II pertemuan 1 terdapat 29 orang siswa (83%) yang dinyatakan terampil berbicara, 6 orang siswa (17%) yang kurang terampil berbicara. Pengamatan yang dilakukan terhadap aktivitas guru menunjukkan nilai 75 dan aktivitas siswa menunjukkan nilai 73,87. Pada siklus II pertemuan 2 terdapat 35 orang siswa (100%) yang dinyatakan terampil berbicara . Dan dari hasil pengamatan aktivitas guru menunjukkan nilai 85, dan aktivitas siswa menunjukkan nilai 85,75. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Time Token dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada materi pokok teks anekdot di kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Medan.

This Collaborative Classroom Action Research aimed at enhancing students’ speaking skill through the application of Circle Game. It was conducted in one cycle consisting of two meetings. The subject was the seventh of C class of SMPN 2 Alas Barat consisting of 22 students. The types of data were qualitative (acquiring observation during the learning process) and quantitative (speaking tests). The results qualitatively showed that the implementation of Circle Game enhanced the students’ speaking skills. Such improvement could be seen from their enthusiasm, their interesting feeling in various materials presented by the teacher, their active involvement. In the quantitative findings, the result also showed a higher value of the mean score of the post-test (77.34) rather than the pre-test (75.75). In conclusion, the use of Circle Game can improve students’ speaking skill.

This research focuses on the use of the Snake and Ladder Board Game in teaching speaking to the tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Mercusuar Kupang. This research aims at finding out the appropriate way of teaching speaking by using snake and ladder board game for students in the tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Mercusuar Kupang..This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of the research is the tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Mercusuar Kupang.. The procedure of the research applied two cycles namely cycle I and cycle II.  Every single cycle had fourth steps namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The result of this research shown that there were significant developments on students speaking skill at the tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Mercusuar Kupang after conducting the treatments through snake and ladder board game. In which the score of a cycle 1 am 43,06 and the score of cycle II is 71,88. It means that the snake and ladder board game is an appropriate way to improve the students` speaking skills. In addition, the researcher found the result of the observation that almost all of the students gave positive responses, such as they gave attention seriously in learning process, they had been more active than before, make them happy and  enjoy the  class,  and  of  course  they could  improve  their  speaking toward snake and ladder board game in improving speaking skill

The objectives of the study are to describe and find out the effectiveness the teaching of English vocabulary using games involving pictures in class activities at the third grade students of Elementary School. This study is action research. The subject of study is the third grade students of Elementary School of Piri Nitikan Yogyakarta. There were 17 students in the class. The data were collected from the observation, interview and test. The data were analyzed from field notes, interview transcript, the observation sheets and test result. It is concluded that using games involving picture in the class can make some progress to the students. The students can increase their vocabulary mastery and their ability both in writing words and in speaking. The students can pronounce the English words correctly. Besides, using games involving picture make the students active and enjoy English class.

Code-switching is a phenomenon that exists in bilingual societies where people have the opportunity to use two or more languages to communicate. Being able to speak more than one language, bilinguals can code-switch and use their languages as resources to find better ways to convey meaning. Code-switching occurs in English Study Program, Faculty of Lecturer Training, University of Banten Jaya, Serang, Banten. Therefore, the aim for this paper was to investigate when and why the lecturer in the class “English for a Group Activity” used code-switch when teaching L2 English. It has also looked into what language the learners preferred in different classroom situations. Alecturer were interviewed and 32learners taking the class. The results showed that the lecturer generally tried to code-switch as little as possible but that they did code-switch in some of those situations where the learners preferred either a combination of Bahasa Indonesia and English or only Bahasa Indonesia. Two of these situations were grammar instructions, where a majority of the learners preferred a combination of English and Bahasa Indonesia, and one-to-one situations, where a majority of the learners preferred Bahasa Indonesia.

This research is based on the problem of the still low social and speaking skills of children, and in general the problem of this research is "How to improve children's social and speaking skills through the application of role playing methods in the MA Assyafiiyah NW Penangsak?" the following: (1) What are the conditions of social skills and speaking skills of children before they are applied to the role playing method or role playing at the MA Assyafiiyah NW Penangsak? (2) What is the process of applying role playing methods in improving children's social skills and speaking skills at MA Assyafiiyah NW Penangsak? (3) To what extent is the improvement of social skills and speaking skills of MA Assyafiiyah NW Penangsak children after role playing or role playing methods are applied? and (4) What obstacles did the teacher experience in applying the role playing method or role playing? The goal to be achieved is to get an idea of improving social skills and speaking skills of children at MA Assyafiiyah NW Penangsak through the application of role playing methods. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) to improve the learning process of social skills and children's speaking skills through the application of role playing methods. PTK was conducted in three cycles, with the subject of children B group MA Assyafiiyah NW Penangsak, amounting to 10 children. From the results of the implementation and observations made, there was a significant increase, especially in cycle two. It is recommended for teachers so that social skills and speaking skills are further developed, both in learning, implementation and evaluation of learning. For further researchers, it is expected to be able to make research on social skills and speaking children through other methods.

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian tindakan yang hendak dicapai  adalah: (1) Untuk mengetahui peningkatkan aktivitasi belajar siswa tunanetra melalui tindakan penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif  Make A Match dengan media kartu Braille. (2) Untuk mengetahui peningkatkan hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa tunanetra melalui tindakan   penerapan Pembelajaran Kooperatif Make A Match dengan media kartu Braille. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SLB-A Yapentra (Yayasan Pendidikan Tunanetra Sumatera) Km. 21,5 Tanjung Morawa.Subjek penelitian adalah siswa SLB-A Yapentra Tanjung Morawa, yaitu kelas VI, yang  berjumlah 6 (enam) orang. Hasil penelitian tindakan menunjukkan bahwa: (1) dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran kooperatif Make A Match dengan media kartu braille, aktivitas siswa dalam setiap siklus terus meningkat terutama ketika siswa dibagi kedalam kelompok dalam mencocokan pasangan kartu braille. (2) dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran kooperatif Make A Matc dengan media kartu braille dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia khususnya dalam pembelajaran “Membaca Intensif”  Kata Kunci: metode pembelajaran kooperatif, make match, media kartu braile, aktivitas, bahasa indonesia Abstract: The objectives of the action research to be achieved are: (1) To know the improvement of learning activation of blind students through the action of implementing cooperative learning Make A Match with Braille media card. From the research that l’ve done that in class IV SDN 38 Rejang Lebong about the subject of Bahasa Indonesia still use the old method like speech method, so the understanding the students in reading. The Cooperative Integrated and Reading Composition method for the learning of bahasa Indonesia. This research use classromm action research using descriptive qualitative. The object of the research is the students of class IV SDN 38 Rejang Lebong. The learning process in Bahasa Indonesia using the CIRC model can done in 3 cycles. The result of the research show that the application of CIRC model for the understanding of the material of reading the intensif text can run effectively. The ability to read the understanding of the students are literal understanding, reorganizing and inferensial. The texts that are given to students have been swithched with the SMOG formula. The result of the study in cycle 1 has medium 69,5 and increase in the second cycle become 70 and increase in the third cycle with the medium 70,59. Based on this research can be suggested that this research well preparation and good attension in dividing a group task and avoid mistake in organizing the group and chosing the suitable text for the stidents based on their age.

The development of reading as one of the basic abilities that a protégé must possess, consists of several stages according to his age and developmental characteristics. This research is based on the low ability of the letters of ibitidaiyah madrassa students. In general, this research aims to improve the ability to recognize children with aspect 1) know and understand the letter 2) know and understand the sound of letters 3) write letters correctly. The specific purpose of this research is to improve the correct spelling through the use of letter cards for 2nd graders MI Ma'arif NU 2 Pancasan as many as 29 students. The step used in this study is by means of playing letter cards. The subject is ibtidaiyah madrassa students. A research procedure is research conducted through cycles of action as Classroom Action Research (CAR). Each step starts from: (1) planning, (2) the implementation of actions, (3) observations, (4) analysis and reflection results. The results prove that the use of letter cards can improve the ability to write the correct spelling for students of madrasah ibtidaiyah. Proven students' learning performance in the average initial condition when compared to the final condition of the child rose by 0.9 or 16.07%. From the results of this study is expected to be used as a consideration material for madrasah ibtidaiyah teachers in teaching the spelling of Bahasa Indonesia, especially in low classes in order to use letter cards as a learning aid.

 ABSTRACT            The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of Cooperative  Learning Time Token towards student’s learning activity and Communicative Competence in speaking English. This research uses Classroom Action Research procedures. The research consists of two cycles, each comprises four phases, namely planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subject of the research is the students of SMK N 2 Temanggung semester 1 2019/2020. To get data, the writer uses Brown’s Scale of Test of Spoken English. While for students’ activities, the writer uses a set of observation sheet to observe the activity of the students in class. The research reveals that the uses of Time Token technique in English class has increased the students’ Learning activities from 68 % in Pre-cycle to 78% in cycle 1 and 80 % in cycle 2. The Communicative competence in speaking English has increased from 74 to 78 in cycle 1 and 81 in cycle 2Key words : Time Token, students’ activity and students’ communicative competence
