This study aims to analyze tourist behaviour, perceptions, motivation to visit, and satisfaction towards Banyuwangi tourism and its impact on community empowerment. This is a qualitative descriptive study using snowball sampling to collect research data. Research informants were the Culture & Tourism Office officer, an officer of the Cooperative, Medium Business, &Trade Office, 87 tourists, 4 guides, 11 micro-business actors, and 4 Local Tourism Awareness Group representatives. Results showed that most tourists visited Banyuwangi to see Ijen's blue fire, Alas Purwo, & local customs.  They gained information from word of mouth, the Internet, & social media. Most tourists perceived that Banyuwangi tourism has good transportation facilities, supporting infrastructure, and accessibility with an affordable entry ticket. The primary motivations to visit Banyuwangi were to escape the routine, gathering with family & friends, increasing local culture knowledge, enjoying sports facilities, and adventure. Most tourists were satisfied & would like to revisit Banyuwangi & recommend it to others. In the last five years, Banyuwangi tourism shows significant developments. It has a positive effect on the community, especially for micro-business entrepreneurs. Keywords: community empowerment, motivation, perception, tourist behaviour

The development of creative economy and encouraging community empowerment are the triggers of research which are expected to be able to describe the empowerment of Noken extension craftsmen with a focus on four key principles of empowerment development. This qualitative descriptive study involved informants using snowball sampling techniques, the results showed that empowerment did not work as it should and was not carried out in accordance with these principles, the failure to achieve the principle of equality supported by the justification of backing each party could participate as giving help to receive. The special program is designed from the executor of empowerment, designed by the community is still limited to mobilization so that it does not have the principle of participation. The principle of independence does not work because it is surrounded by a pattern of aid that does not support the form of independence and it is also realized that independence is only formed as a whole which begins with awareness, suspended with assistance, deferred with the assistance of craftsmen and deferred with craftsmen so that it can be done by delivering the economy. The implementation of this independence is not immediately approved for the release of assistance or in other words, the principle of sustainability is not implemented.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep dalam menyelesaikan masalah nilai mutlak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti sebagai instrumen utama dan tes uraian menjadi instrumen pendukung. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil think alouds dan wawancara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 11 Ambon dengan subjek penelitian dalam tulisan ini sebanyak 1 orang yang diambil berdasarkan snowballsampling dari 9 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa diawali dengan menerjemahkan bentuk abstrak ke bentuk yang lebih kongkrit, yakni dengan menentukan hal yang diketahui dan hal yang ditanyakan.Selanjutnya menginterpretasikan penyelesaian masalah secara algoritmik, dan langsung dapat menarik kesimpulan atau mengekstrapolasi. Kata kunci: Nilai Mutlak, Pemahaman Konsep, Penyelesaian Masalah Abstract The purpose of this study is to describe the understanding of concepts in solving absolute value problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. In this study, researchers as the main instrument and essay tests become supporting instruments. The research data were obtained from think aloud and interviews. This research was conducted in Ambon 11 Public High School with the research subjects in this paper as many as 1 person taken based on snowball sampling from 9 students. The results showed that understanding students' concepts begin with translating abstract forms into more concrete forms, namely by determining what is known and what is asked. Furthermore, interpreting problem solving algorithmically or completely and can immediately conclude or extrapolate.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendekripsikan tanggapan pembaca terhadap novel Le Petit Prince (2) mendeskripsikan horizon harapan pembaca terhadap novel Le Petit Prince, dan (3) mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor penyebab perbedaan tanggapan dan horizon harapan pembaca. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa teks yang memuat tanggapan pembaca novel Le Petit Princeyang terdiri dari 20 orang, sedangkan sumber datanya berupa artikel dan makalah yang dimuat di media massa cetak dan elektronik termasuk internet. Instrumen penelitian berupa seperangkat konsep tentang pembaca, tanggapan pembaca, dan horizon harapan. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi dan data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian yang didapat sebagai berikut. (1) Seluruh pembaca menanggapi atau menilai positif unsur tema, alur, tokoh, latar, sudut pandang, gaya bahasa, teknik penceritaan, bahasa, dan isi novel Le Petit Prince. (2) Harapan sebagian besar pembaca sebelum membaca novel Le Petit Prince sesuai dengan kenyataan ke sembilan unsur di dalam novel Le Petit Prince, sehingga pembaca dapat dengan mudah menerima dan memberikan pujian pada novel Le Petit Prince. (3) Faktor penyebab perbedaan tanggapan dan horizon harapan pembaca selain perbedaan stressing unsur yang ditanggapi juga karena perbedaan pengetahuan tentang sastra, pengetahuan tentang kehidupan, dan pengalaman membaca karya sastra.Kata kunci: tanggapan pembaca, horizon harapan, Le Petit PrinceAbstractThis study aims to (1) describe reader’s responses to the novel Le Petit Prince (2) to describe the reader's expectations horizon of Le Petit Prince's novel, and (3) to describe the factors causing differences in responses and the horizon of readers' expectations. This research is a descriptive qualitative research type. The research data consist of a set of paragraphs that contains readers' responses to Le Petit Prince's novel, while the data sources are articles and papers published in print and electronic mass media including the internet. The research instruments are a set of reader concepts, reader responses, and expectations horizon. The technique of collecting data is observation and data are analyzed by using qualitative descriptive technique. The results obtained are as follow: (1) All readers respond and valuethe theme elements,plots, characters, background, point of view, language, titles, storytelling techniques, language, and extrinsic novel Le Petit Prince positively. (2) The expectations of most readers before reading Le Petit Prince's novels are in accordance with the nine facts in Le Petit Prince's novel, so readers can easily accept and give prise to Le Petit Prince's novel. (3) Factors causing differences in responses and horizon of readers' expectations other than the stressing differences of the elements being addressed also due to the differences in knowledge of literature, knowledge of life and literary reading experience. This study discusses the positive politeness strategies in Kupang Malay on Facebook social media which are related with the politeness strategy theory  by Brown and Levinson. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with content analysis method. The research data were the status posts/comments in the Kupang Malay language on the Facebook which were selected based on the suitability of the research objectives. The selected data are then collected and analyzed according to theory. As a result, there are 12 strategies used by Facebook users in Kupang Malay namely (1) give sympathy to the interlocutor; (2) exaggerating sympathy for the interlocutor; (3) pay special attention to the interlocutor; (4) increase interest in the interlocutor; (5) use markers that show similarities; (6) seek the approval of the interlocutor; (7) avoid conflict with the interlocutor; (8) presupposes the interlocutor; (9) the strategy of making jokes; (10) strategies for making offers and promises; (11) showing a sense of optimism; and (12) trying to involve the interlocutor. Penelitian ini membahas strategi kesantunan positif dalam bahasa Melayu Kupang pada media sosial Facebook yang dikaitkan dengan teori strategi kesantunan yang dikemukakan oleh Brown dan Levinson. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi (content analysis). Data penelitian adalah tulisan status/komentar dalam bahasa Melayu Kupang pada Facebook yang dipilih berdasarkan kesesuaian terhadap tujuan penelitian. Data yang dipilih kemudian dikumpulkan dan dianalisis sesuai teori. Hasilnya, ada 12 strategi yang digunakan oleh pengguna Facebook berbahasa Melayu Kupang, dan ada 12 strategi yang ditemukan dalam penggunaanya dalam Facebook, yaitu (1) memberikan simpati pada lawan tutur; (2) melebih-lebihkan simpati pada lawan tutur; (3) memberikan perhatian khusus pada lawan tutur; (4) meningkatkan rasa tertarik pada lawan tutur; (5) menggunakan penanda yang menunjukkan kesamaan; (6) mencari dan mengusahakan persetujuan lawan tutur; (7) menghindari pertentangan dengan lawan tutur; (8) mempresuposisikan lawan tutur; (9) strategi membuat lelucon; (10) strategi membuat penawaran dan janji; (11) menunjukkan rasa optimism; dan (12) berusaha melibatkan lawan tutur.

The purpose of this study was to determine the function of language and affective meaning on environmental hygiene warning boards. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, namely by analyzing writing data on environmental hygiene warning boards. The object of this research is written data on the father of environmental hygiene warnings taken from the internet. The conclusions from the results of the study are that there are three language functions, namely informational, expressive, and directive functions. From 42 data, there are 13 informational functions, 14 expressive functions, and 15 directive functions. Based on the meaning, 13 positive affective meanings and 28 negative affective meanings were found.

This study discusses the factors that influence French tourists to visit Bali. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research data was obtained by observing, documenting and interviewing 48 French tourists who used the services of a travel agent during their vacation in Bali in 2019. To test the validity of the data, researchers used triangulation of techniques and sources. Then data analysis through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research that has been conducted, it is found that there are 10 (ten) factors that influence French tourists to visit Bali; those are: (1) the beauty of the nature, (2) the hospitality of the Balinese people, (3) the rich history, local culture and traditions, (4) the competitive prices, (5) beaches and activities, (6) the traditional cuisine of Bali, (7) the convenience during vacation, (8) meditation and yoga facilities, (9) the availability of  Francophone guide, and (10) the existence of Francophone community. The results of this study are expected to provide a strategic plan map for the development of tourism especially in Bali and in Indonesia in general.

With the increasing popularity of the smart phones and electronic payment, WeChat shopping has become a trendy lifestyle for many people. However, the issue of WeChat business integrity has gradually appeared due to the virtuality of the Internet. This paper analyzed the development of WeChat business and its business integrity. The influencing factors of WeChat business integrity and related hypotheses had been studied based on theoretical and practical analysis. The reliability and validity of the data collected through questionnaires were tested with SPSS24.0. Empirical analysis was done to the hypotheses by using the structural equation model. The results indicated that products and service quality, after-sale guarantee, payment security and Word-of-mouth had a prominent positive effect on the integrity of WeChat business.

The purpose of this study was to determine the culture of siri' na pacce in revealing the profits of retail traders from the perspective of Islamic business ethics. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study with an ethnographic approach. This study obtained data from retailers of Bugis-Makassar ethnicity and Muslim who trade at the Panakukkang Market in Makassar. Data collected through a series of observation methods, interviews, secondary data from literature books, journals, the internet, and other complementary data. Research results internalization of siri' na pacce culture and Islamic business ethics in trading produce material and non-material benefits. The internalization of siri' na pacce culture with Islamic business ethics results in the values of tongeng and the principle of truth, the value of lempu' and the principle of tauhid, balance, ihsan, and the value of adele' and the focus of truth. The values in the siri' na pacce culture can implement Islamic business ethics in trade to achieve world happiness and the end, which is the goal of human life.الغرض من هذه الدراسة هو تحديد ثقافة السيري في الكشف عن أرباح تجار التجزئة من منظور أخلاقيات العمل الإسلامية. هذا النوع من البحث هو دراسة وصفية نوعية ذات نهج إثنوغرافي. تم الحصول على مصادر البيانات من تجار التجزئة من عرقية Bugis-Makassar والمسلمين الذين يتاجرون في سوق Panakukkang في Makassar. تم جمع البيانات من خلال سلسلة من طرق المراقبة والمقابلات والبيانات الثانوية من كتب الأدب والمجلات والإنترنت والبيانات التكميلية الأخرى. نتائج البحث عن استيعاب ثقافة السيري وأخلاقيات العمل الإسلامية في التجارة تنتج فوائد مادية وغير مادية. إن استيعاب ثقافة سيري مع أخلاقيات العمل الإسلامية ينتج عنه قيم توغنغ ومبادئ الحقيقة ، وقيم ليمبو ومبادئ التوحيد ، والتوازن ، والحقيقة ، وقيم الإحسان ، وأديل ومبادئ الحقيقة. يمكن تطبيق القيم الواردة في ثقافة السيري ومبادئ أخلاقيات العمل الإسلامية في التجارة لتحقيق السعادة العالمية والغاية التي هي هدف حياة الإنسان على هذه الأرض.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui budaya siri’ na pacce dalam mengungkap keuntungan usaha pedagang eceran perspektif etika bisnis Islam. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Sumber data diperoleh dari pedagang eceran bersuku Bugis-Makassar dan beragama Islam yang berdagang di Pasar Panakukkang Makassar. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui serangkaian metode observasi, wawancara, data sekunder dari literatur buku, jurnal, internet, dan data pelengkap lainnya. Hasil Penelitian internalisasi budaya siri’ na pacce dan etika bisnis Islam dalam berdagang menghasilkan keuntungan materi dan non materi. Internalisasi budaya siri’ na pacce dengan etika bisnis Islam menghasilkan nilai togeng dan prinsip kebenaran, nilai lempu’ dan prinsip tauhid, keseimbangan, kebenaran, ihsan, dan nilai adele’ dan prinsip kebenaran. Nilai-nilai terdapat di budaya siri’ na pacce dan prinsip-prinsip etika bisnis Islam dapat di implementasikan dalam berdagang untuk mencapai kebahagian dunia dan akhir yang menjadi tujuan hidup manusia di muka bumi ini.

The Wahdah method is a method of memorizing the Qur'an by reciting one by one the verses that will be memorized repeatedly. Not a few of the students complained about the difficulty of memorizing the Qur'an, it was due to the large number of students who did not know about the methods that could be used in memorizing the Qur'an. In order to memorize the Qur'an becomes lighter, of course as a student must understand the methods that can be applied in memorizing. This research is a qualitative descriptive study which was carried out on the Tahfidz Dormitory students of MAN 2 Langkat. The sources of research data in this study are the results of observations, documentation and interviews with research informants. The findings of this study indicate that the majority of students apply the wahdah method in improving their memorization. Many students do not know the name of the method they use in memorizing the Qur'an, through this interview they reveal their way of memorizing after which the researcher concludes. The students apply this method because they find it easy with the method it uses. The application of the Wahdah Method in the Tahfidz Dormitory of MAN 2 Langkat greatly affects the memorization of the Qur'an of the Tahfidz Dormitory students. The implementation of the wahdah method begins with improving the reading, then after the reading is good enough, it is continued by memorizing one verse by one until it reaches one page. After that the memorization is deposited to the supervisor or teacher. The memorization of the Qur'an of the Tahfidz Dormitory MAN 2 Langkat students increased after the use of the wahdah method. Students find it easier to memorize the Qur'an..

Customer complaints are unavoidable in any businesses and how firms handle such complaints will affect the public's perception of the company's brand and reputation. While storytelling is being embraced by an increasing number of companies as a different way to communicate their brand, many customers are now also using storytelling as an approach to voice their unfavourable experiences on the social media in regards to a particular unsatisfactory purchase as part of electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM). Such creative and humorous complaints serve as a way to cut through the clutter in order to gain the company's attention. Those companies that embrace such complaints by responding in an equally humorous and creative manner as part of their service recovery process will manage to recover their customers as well as their employees. As such posts are often shared publicly on the Internet, they may become viral and thus can create great positive effect on the company's reputation. Hence, it is important to empower the employees to recover the services using untraditional responses.
