The Industrial Revolution 4.0 brings society in fast-paced change. Technology and social media emerge not only as a means of communication and accessibility of modern society, but also as a means of mass news spread and provocation. When society and technology coexist, technology is able to drive people to have accessibility without time limits. The objective of this study is to describe the overview of the Era of Society 5.0 seen from the perspectives of materialism and existentialism in social sciences. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with literature review analysis which specifically discussed modern society and the idea of materialism and existentialism. The results of this study showed that the Era of Society 5.0 has indeed become an era of the unification of humans and technology. Technology has become a necessity that must be fulfilled by all people. The perspectives of materialism and existentialism view it as a critical period because society is vulnerable to division if it is not directed properly. This study concluded that the Era of Society 5.0 is described as a period when humans and their mindsets are trapped between material needs and the desire for existence. Technology that is interconnected and accessed without limits presents a complex situation. The streams of materialism and existentialism provide an overview of the situation of society in two related sides.

AbstractThe aim of the paper was to outline and evaluate the existing scientific achievements regarding the phenomenon of ambush marketing in sport, mark the dominating problematic areas, and create a literature database for the purposes of further research. The systematic literature review was conducted in the following stages: planning and conducting the review, analysis, and description of the results. The preliminary analysis included a combined number of 21,176 studies published between 1984-2013 in journals, books, and other sources included in analyzed databases, chosen using a meta-keyword: ambush. Analysis of the subject literature on the phenomenon of ambush marketing in sport allows for the classification of the works into three dominating research areas: identification of ambush marketing phenomenon, identification of the influence of ambush marketing practices on consumers, and identification of counter-ambush strategies. This review indicates the need for secondary research in social sciences in a more systematic way and more rigorously than it was done until now.

Abstract Not only does modernization offer technological sophistication and convenience for all human activities, but this phenomenon also presents a phase called the post-truth era. This phenomenon occurs when the loss of the existence of scientists or intelligentsia by the anti-intellectualism movement which is called the death of expertise. The term death of expertise which was popularized by Tom Nichols eventually became so popular globally including in Indonesia. At least the post-truth era, the death of expertise and the industrial revolution 4.0 became a very popular issue in Indonesia, so that it indirectly showed stuttering and acute inferiority in the scientific tradition in Indonesia. Because in the 90s the Indonesian Muslim scholar Kuntowijoyo had dismissed the phenomena and problems of modern society through his collection of essays such as Muslims without Mosques and Political Identity of Muslims. Therefore this paper uses a descriptive qualitative approach aimed at describing the urgency of the re-actualization and revitalization of prophetic social science in the perspective of Kuntowijoyo's thoughts. In addition, the Prophetic Social Sciences (ISP) is also placed in the Indonesian context so that Indonesia is able to have an authentic scientific tradition, and be able to deliver the Indonesian people to face all the challenges of changing times without losing the humanity and rationality. Furthermore, this paper also presents the problem of the development of science in Indonesia to highlight the urgency of the reactualization of prophetic Social Sciences in the scientific tradition in Indonesia. Keywords: Reactualization, Prophetic Social Sciences and Kuntowijyo.

Social media is a space for interaction for humanity in this millennial era. However, social media development is often accompanied by several phenomena such as defamation, hate speech, and bullying. In Indonesia, this latest phenomenon occurs in hate speech and bullying cases that befell Tri Risma Harini as Mayor of Surabaya. This research aims to analyze Indonesian social media users' ethics and power based on the perspective of Gramsci's theory of hegemony and electronic information and transaction (EIT) Law. The research method used in the study is a literature review, which contains reviews, summaries, and the author's thoughts on several sources of literature (articles, books, slides, information from the internet, etc.) on the topics discussed. Meanwhile, Antonio Gramsci's hegemony theory and Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning EIT are used to analyze the literature-status used. The findings in this study indicate that an Indonesian citizen who uses social media cannot freely express his/her will because it is regulated in the ITE Law and local laws limit the freedom of expression of every citizen, spirit (morality), society, and order. Social and political (public order) of a democratic society as contained in article 29 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As an Indonesian citizen, the case that befell Zikria is actually an act that is not wise in using social media. Although the freedom of opinion of every citizen is guaranteed by the laws of this country, an understanding of the substance of the ITE Law must be well understood. Researchers recommend citizens in expressing their opinions must understand and be well aware of the regulations that apply in this country so that there are no negative impacts that can be obtained in the future.

Article visualizations:
