Abstract In today’s world, tertiary institutions provide Computer Science and Information Technology courses to students for them to have the opportunity to improve the thinking computational skills they will need to function in today's computation-dependent society. Moreover, pupils who think they can finish programming tasks successfully are likely more to become interested. Additionally, effective approaches to impart computer programming frequently rise pupils' interest in programming. As a result, the study sought to examine college students’ interest in programming. The research design for the study was a survey method. The study’s population comprise of Computer Science and Information Technology students at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The sample size was 368 where we used a systematic sampling technique to select participants for the study. The study shows that majority of college students have interest in programming. The results revealed that the total number of males who have interest in programming are greater than females and that the total number of males who study programming far outweigh the total number of females. It is recommended that females should be encouraged to study programming at the various institutions that provide programming courses to students.

Ergonomics is the science of designing the job to fit the worker. Neglect of ergonomic principles results in inefficiency and pain in the workplace. The objective of this research is to assess the knowledge of Computer Ergonomics among Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology Students in Karnataka. In this Cross-sectional study, 177 Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology Students were recruited. A questionnaire is used to gather details regarding Personal characteristics, Computer Usage and Knowledge of Ergonomics. Descriptive statistics was produced for Personal characteristics and Computer usage. The distribution of responses to the items related to Ergonomic knowledge was presented by percentage of the subjects who answered correctly. The results shows that Majority of the subjects were unaware of ergonomics (32.8% correct responses), cumulative trauma disorders (18.6% correct responses), healthy postures related to elbow (34.4% correct responses), wrist & hand (39.5% correct responses), Level of Monitor (35% correct responses), Position of mouse (47.4% correct responses) and Mini breaks (42.9% correct responses). This research highlighted the necessity of Ergonomic training regarding healthy postures and the measures to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders for the students.

Data science and big data analytics are still at the center of computer science and information technology. Students and researchers not in computer science often found difficulties in real data analytics using programming languages such as Python and Scala, especially when they attempt to use Apache-Spark in cloud computing environments-Spark Scala and PySpark. At the same time, students in information technology could find it difficult to deal with the mathematical background of data science algorithms. To overcome these difficulties, this chapter will provide a practical guideline to different users in this area. The authors cover the main algorithms for data science and machine learning including principal component analysis (PCA), support vector machine (SVM), k-means, k-nearest neighbors (kNN), regression, neural networks, and decision trees. A brief description of these algorithms will be explained, and the related code will be selected to fit simple data sets and real data sets. Some visualization methods including 2D and 3D displays will be also presented in this chapter.

ABSTRACT STIE KESATUAN campus in the academic year 2017/2018 has the highest number of students compared to previous school years. This study aims to determine the causality between brand trust and marketer persuasion on the decision of students choosing to study at STIE KESATUAN. The paradigm used is positivistic with a quantitative approach, a survey method involving a sample of 60 respondents STIE KESATUAN student class of 2017/2018. The sampling technique is stratified sample. The theory used is Stimulus-Organism-Response. The results show that there is a stronger relationship between STIE KESATUAN brand trust and the decision of new college students in the 2017/2018 school year than the causality of Staff Marketing persuasion as marketers towards choosing to study at STIE KESATUAN. This means that the brand trust variable goes beyond the marketer persuasion causality in college decisions at STIE KESATUAN.. Keywords; MarketersPersuasion, Brand Trust, Decision to Study.

As the development of the advanced information technology, the modern technologies including the information and computer technologies are bring into the campuses. The modern information technology, such as the multimedia technology, the computer science as well as the network technology are taken as the available tools to present vivid samples to the students for education and entertainment, helping the college students to clearly and deeply understand the information, knowledge and enriching their life. Specialized to the ideology of the college students, this paper presented the influence of the modern information technology to the ideology of college students. The benefit and weakness of the introducing the modern information technology into the campuses is analyzed. Moreover, we proposed a series of method for properly utilizing the modern information technology, forming a novel pattern of the utilization of the modern information technology.

Electronic procurement (E-Procuremrnt) was touted as revolutionizing the supply chain and offering organizations a vast number of advantages. Such hype has caused business to focus on the supply function to a greater extent than in the past. The savings promised were too good not to consider and many organizations needed to make these savings to stay competitive. The purpose of the research is to study the further up gradation of Information Technology (IT) to support the procurement process and to identify the significant difference of further up gradation of Information Technology (IT) to support the procurement process across industry, Size and Ownership of the firm. The current study is a descriptive study, for which, primary data were collected through structured questionnaire with the help of personal survey method. The sampling unit is an Executive and/or a Manager concerned with Procurement activities of an organisation. The sampling technique adopted for the survey is non-probability convenience sampling technique. In this study, researchers used SPSS 20 to analyze the data and using nonparametric statistics. There is a significant difference of further up gradation of Information Technology (IT) to support the procurement process across industry, Size and Ownership of the firm.

This study examined the influence of information technology on internal control systems in tertiary institutions in Osun State with the aim of determining whether or not information technology has a major influence on tertiary institutions' internal control systems. A descriptive research design was adopted while the population of the study consists of tertiary institutions in Osun State, Obafemi Awolowo University was chosen using judgmental sampling technique because of her accessibility and convenience. One hundred and twenty (120) copies of the questionnaire were distributed while hundred (100) copies were returned and analyzed using regression analysis. Findings from the study revealed that information technology significantly influences internal control systems and significantly influences internal audit processes in tertiary institutions in Osun State with t-value and p-value of 20.029 and 0.000, 19.049, and 0.000 respectively. It was concluded that information technology enhances and strengthens internal control systems and internal audit processes in tertiary institutions. The study, therefore, recommended that tertiary institutions should embrace information technology so as to strengthen the internal control systems of their institutions, internal control systems should be jealously guided to prevent fraudulent activities, duties must be properly segregated technologically so as to determine who to be held responsible when there are infractions and finally, both on-the-job and off-the-job training in information technology should be embraced by management of tertiary institutions so as to update the required skills and knowledge of their staff in information technology
