Caries is a problem that often occurs in school-age children. Special Region of Yogyakarta is a province that has a high DMF-T index by 5.9 and exceeds the national DMF-T index. One of the efforts to improve dental and oral health of school-age children is the health education method using simulation methods, as well as simple techniques that may attract children's attention and be understood. The aim of the current study is to knowing the influence of oral and dental hygiene education intervention on dental and oral hygiene level at SD Negeri 3 Sleman students. This research used a kind of quasi experimental research with one group pretest posttest design. The research was done in SD Negeri 3 Sleman, the sample used was the 3rd graders from 57 students in 2017. The intervention was done by dental and oral hygiene education. Respondents were examined related to their dental and oral hygiene levels. It was measured by the PHP Index (Patient Hygiene Perfomance) before and after the intervention. According to results, The average score of respondents’dental and oral hygine pre test was 0.0823 and the average post test score of respondents’dental and oral hygiene was 1.4830. There is the difference of 1.4007. This shows an increament in oral hygiene of the respondent before and after the education. The results of statistical analysis show that there is an influence of oral and dental hygiene which pvalue 0,000 <0.05. Thus, there is a need for dental and mouth hygiene education to be conducted regularly and delivered with an interesting method.

Introduction: Oral hygiene status is a condition of a person’s oral cavity. Oral hygiene status can be assessed using Oral Hygiene Index Simplified (OHI-S) by Greene & Vermillion. The education given regarding dental health is one of the health promotion with the purpose to increase the ability of children in terms of maintaining and improving their oral hygiene. The purpose of this study was to determine the oral hygiene status of the orphan children in Ar-Rohman Foster Home Bandung before and after being given dental health education (DHE). Methods: This research was pre-experimental research with one group of pretest-posttest design with total sampling technique. Subjects of this research were orphans aged 13-15 years old. The respondents got the clinical examination of OHI-S at before and after the respondent was given dental health education. The data obtained then tested using the normality test, if the data were normally distributed analysis, then analyzed with a paired t-test, and if the data were not normally distributed, will be analyzed with a Wilcoxon test. Results: The results showed a significant decrease of plaque index after dental health education was given to the orphans. The examination of the calculus index (CI-S) did not show any change before and after dental health education. OHI-S of children, however, showed a significant decrease. Conclusion: There was an increase in the oral hygiene status of the orphan children in Ar-Rohman Foster Home Bandung after being given dental health education.

Dental and oral health education provided through counseling, you should use one of the various types of counseling methods available to facilitate the acceptance of information. The media presenters of counseling materials in learning dental and oral health are needed. One of the learning media in dental and oral health education is counseling using crossword media as an alternative that can be used as an extension media. Media crossword puzzle is a game media that can be used as an extension media in dental and oral health education and can attract the interest of counseling participants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of counseling between lecture methods by filling in crossword puzzles on the knowledge and level of dental and oral hygiene in Class VIII and VII students of Mempawah District Arraudhatul Islamiyah MTs in 2018. The population in the study was 74 people. The research sample was taken purposively with certain criteria. Group I numbered 30 people and research subjects II amounted to 30 people. The research used was quasi-experimental research with Pre-Post observation research design, Wilcoxon Signed Rannks Test statistical test to measure knowledge before and after treatment and paired t-test, to measure the level of dental and oral hygiene before and after treatment, Effectiveness Test with percent to measure the effectiveness of counseling and filling in crossword puzzles. With a measuring instrument questionnaire to measure knowledge and PHP index checks to measure the level of dental and oral hygiene. The results of the study that knowledge and level of dental and oral hygiene were both counseling with refinement and filling in crossword puzzles between before and after there were significant differences p <0.05. Counseling by filling in crosswords is more effective in increasing knowledge with an average difference of 22.0% while lecture counseling is 20.1%. The improvement of dental and oral hygiene of the crossword group was 68.2% while the lecture was 54.4%.

Introduction: Intestinal parasite infections werecommonintropical country such as Vietnam. Having good knowledge of parasitic infectious prevention and changing risk behaviors can decrease the infection rate. Objective: To evaluate the parasitic infectious rate in Vinh Thai community before and after being health education and the changing of knowledge of parasitic infectious prevention and risk behaviors. Materials and methods: 60 households in Vinh Thai commune were interviewed their knowledge of parasitic infectious prevention and examined intestinal parasite infection by Kato technique and then trained the knowledge of parasitic infectious prevention. The interview and examination parasite infectiousrate were carried out after 6 months to evaluating their knowledge. Result: Before health education, the rate of intestinal parasite infection was 17.4% with the prevalence of Ascaris lumbricoides, hookworm, whipworm, pinworm, small fluke worm and co-infection with A. lumbricoides - whipworm, hookworm-whipworm were 0.1%; 8.0%; 5.8%; 0.6%; 0.3%; 1.2% and 3.0% respectively. Six months later the rate of intestinal parasite infection was decreased in 12.6% even though not statistical significantly. However, there were no case of small fluke worm and co-infection with hookworm-whipworm. Receiving health education, their knowledge of parasitic infectious prevention was higher significantly but their risk behaviors were not changed so much. Conclusion: Health education can change the rate of parasite infection with higher knowledge of parasitic infectious prevention but it was necessary continuous study to change the risk behaviors. ABSTRAKWanita muda cenderung memiliki perilaku buruk pada kebersihan selama menstruasi. Ketika reproduksi basah dan basah, maka akan meningkatkan keasaman memfasilitasi pertumbuhan jamur. Kondisi seperti gatal pada vulva, area eksternal biasanya terjadi pada wanita muda di masa menstruasi. Perilaku seseorang dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pendidikan dan pengetahuan. Pengetahuan seseorang tentang sesuatu dapat menyebabkan perubahan perilaku. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektivitas pendidikan kesehatan dengan metode ceramah dalam merawat kebersihan vulva terhadap perilaku kebersihan vulva saat menstruasi pada wanita muda di kelas VII di SMPN 1 Gondang Mojokerto.Jenis penelitian ini adalah pre eksperimental One Group Pre-Post Test Design. Populasi adalah wanita muda di kelas VII di SMPN 1 Gondang Mojokerto. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling dan diperoleh 21 sampel wanita muda. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner. Analisis data dengan membandingkan perilaku rata-rata memperlakukan kebersihan vulva selama menstruasi sebelum dan sesudah kuliah pendidikan kesehatan.Hasil penelitian sebelum pengobatan (pre-test) menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 9,000 sedangkan penelitian setelah perawatan (post test) menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 14,190. Ada perubahan dalam perilaku rata-rata memperlakukan kebersihan vulva selama menstruasi wanita muda sebelum dan sesudah kuliah pendidikan kesehatan di 5.190.Berdasarkan hasil pendidikan kesehatan dengan metode ceramah efektif untuk meningkatkan perawatan perilaku untuk kebersihan vulva selama menstruasi pada wanita muda. Kuliah pendidikan kesehatan tentang kebersihan vulva dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu cara efektif untuk memperbaiki perilaku kebersihan yang buruk selama menstruasi pada wanita muda.Kata kunci: pendidikan kesehatan, perilaku, kebersihan vulva ABSTRACTYoung women tend to have bad behavior on hygiene during menstruation. When reproduction moist and wet, it will increase the acidity facilitate mold growth. Conditions such as itching of the vulva, the external area usually occurs during young women in the menstrual period. Person's behavior is influenced by the level of education and knowledge. One's knowledge about something can cause behavioral changes. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of health education with the lecture method of treating vulva hygiene on the behavior of vulva hygiene during menstruation in young women in class VII at SMPN 1 Gondang MojokertoType of research is pre experimental One Group Pre-Post Test Design. The population was young women in class VII at SMPN 1 Gondang Mojokerto. Sampling technique used total sampling and obtained 21 samples of young women. Measurement tool used in the study was questionnaire. Analysis of the data by comparing the average behavior of treating vulva hygiene during menstruation before and after the health education lecture.The results of the study before treatment (pre-test) showed a mean value of 9,000 while the study after treatment (post test) showed a mean value of 14,190. There is a change in the average behavior of treating vulva hygiene during menstruation young women before and after the health education lecture at 5,190.Based on the results of health education with the lecture method effectively to improved behavioral care for vulva hygiene during menstruation in young women. Health education lecture about hygiene vulva can be used as one of the effective ways to improve the behavior of poor hygiene during menstruation in young women.Key Words: health education, behaviour, vulva hygiene

Background: Health education is a process of transmission of knowledge and skills necessary for improvement in quality of life. Objectives: The purpose of this quasi-experimental study was to evaluate the oral hygiene related knowledge among the population in a selected community before and after health education. Materials and Methods: A total of 106 respondents were taken purposively at South Pirerbag of Dhaka city. Baseline data were collected by pre-tested structured questionnaire. An educational intervention program was conducted by dividing the respondents into seven groups, 15 in each group; method was group discussion and lecture; poster, model of teeth and brush were the aids. Post intervention data were collected by the same questionnaire. Results: Among the respondents, 61.32% were male and 38.68% were female, mean age was 46.25 years, 35.85% had primary level education, monthly family income was Tk 5000-10000 in 66.98%. Before intervention 64.15% told that teeth should be cleaned twice daily, 62.26% told teeth should be cleaned by brush and paste and 2.83% told teeth should be cleaned after breakfast and night; whereas after intervention the result was 91.51%, 85.85% and 67.93% respectively. Before intervention 66.98% stated that tobacco is hazardous to health but 32.4% have no idea about the type of diseases that occur due to tobacco; whereas after intervention 89.62% told that tobacco is hazardous to health and most of them had idea about harmful effect of tobacco. Conclusion: Educational intervention program is effective to improve the knowledge of the respondents about oral hygiene. ABSTRAKKrebet adalah sentra industri batik kayu yang mempunyai potensi kepariwisataan baik dari sisi budaya maupun alamnya. Pemberdayaan kelompok PKK di desa Krebet sangat bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan ketahanan keluarga baik dari segi ekonomi, sosial, budaya maupun agama. Berbagai keterampilan yang diperoleh, akan bisa membekali anggotanya  untuk bisa hidup lebih baik. Kondisi pandemi Covid sangat membutuhkan daya imun yang cukup kuat untuk bisa menangkal virus Covid-19. Hasil need assessment menunjukkan bahwa kelompok PKK memerlukan tambahan informasi tentang Toga. Toga termasuk tanaman yang murah dalam produksinya, tidak membutuhkan lahan yang luas, cocok ditanam baik di dataran rendah maupun tinggi, sudah dikenal masyarakat Indonesia serta cara pengolahan hasil produksi yang mudah untuk skala rumah tangga. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat adalah mengenalkan tentang jenis Toga, manfaat Toga dan pengolahan Toga sederhana. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat diikuti oleh 14 peserta diawali pemberian pendidikan kesehatan tentang Toga dan manfaatnya, dan tata cara budidaya Toga. Kegiatan berikutnya adalah praktek mengolah jahe menjadi puding. Evaluasi berdasarkan kuesioner menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peserta sebelum dan setelah pemberian pendidikan kesehatan. Kata kunci: toga; desa wisata krebet; covid-19; pemberdayaan masyarakat; ketahanan keluarga.ABSTRACTKrebet is the center of the wooden batik industry that has tourism potential both in terms of culture and nature. The main activities carried out by mothers are mostly housewives, and are involved in PKK social activities. The Covid-19 pandemic requires a strong immune system to be able to ward off the Covid-19 virus. The results of the assessment in the area, the agreed skill to be taught to PKK mothers is the cultivation of the Toga plant. Toga is a plant that is cheap to produce, does not require a large area of land, suitable for planting in both the lowlands and highlands, well known to the Indonesian people and  an easy way of processing production for household scale. Empowerment of the PKK group is very useful for increasing family resilience in terms of economic, social, cultural and religious aspects. Various skills obtained will be able to equip its members to be able to live better. This community service activity was attended by 14 participants, carried out in three stages, namely providing health education about Toga and its benefits, as well as procedures for cultivating Toga. The third stage is the practice of how to process the Toga. The evaluation was carried out by giving a questionnaire of knowledge about Toga and skills in practicing how to process Toga results before and after the activity. Febrile seizure rate on toddler was quite high and tended to increase every year. This was because as toddler experiencing febrile seizures they were not properly handled by the parents. Febrile seizure in toddler if not treated quickly can affect the increasing in seizure frequency and can cause death. The capability of mother in handling febrile seizure must be based on the right knowledge of febrile seizure. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge of the mother before and after health education based on 10 steps in handling febrile seizure on toddler in Bandar Lampung Adventist Hospital. Experimental research method with one group pretest-posttest designed with random sampling technique approach involving 80 mothers with 0 to 5 year old who had fever being hospitalized. The researchers prepared 10 images of steps in handling febrile seizures randomly and asked the respondents to arrange the pictures according to their knowledge. The results were observed to determine their knowledge rearranging as pretest data. Afterward, health education was given about 10 correct steps. Thereafter, reobserved was made and the knowledge in arranging 10 images was obtained as post test data. The knowledge score before health education was 20.75% and after was 83.75%. While the analytical test used paired t test. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge before and after health education. p value = 0.00 < 0.05. The results showed that the value of tcount (14.26) > t table (2.26). Increased knowledge in mothers reduced the risk of recurrence of febrile seizures in toddler and the nurse who had not tought these steps needed to run regularly to the mothers whose child was being hospitalized.

<p><strong>Objective</strong>: The  purpose  of  this  case  study  was  to  analyze  the  oral  hygiene intervention performed by  nurse  in  stroke  hemorrhagic  patient  in  neurological  ward</p><p> </p><p><strong>Methods:</strong> .Oral hygiene interventions were performed by using 0.2% chlorhexidine twice daily for seven days. This case study used oral health assessment tool (OHAT) which the measurements were taken before and after the intervention every day</p><p> </p><p><strong>Results</strong>: There was a decrease in oral hygiene assessment score from 9 to 1 which implied an improvement in oral hygiene condition. This study also showed that family of stroke patient was able to perform oral hygiene practice to the patient after simulation performed firstly by nurses</p><p> </p><p><strong>Conclusion</strong>: The study recommends that oral hygiene by using 0.2% chlorhexidine needs to be delivered routinely by nurses and continues by the family at home care.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: chlorhexidine 0.2%, oral hygiene, stroke.</p>
