In mountain quarries, the main factor influencing safety is dust aerosol of host rocks in the air. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the environmental safety of mining quarries and improve health of the population. Due to a large number of factors influencing the distribution of dust, one of the main ways to obtain reliable information about this process is to study the distribution of dust. On the example of five mining facilities, an environmental risk assessment was conducted using statistical data on the control over activities of the enterprise. The index of atmospheric pollution was determined and the main parameters of the distribution of dust aerosols of granite, migmatite, marbled limestone, ophiocalcite, serpentinite, jade and charoite were identified. The area of distribution of dust aerosol for five quarries located on the Baikal natural territory was established. The consequences of dust pollution for ecosystems were described.

Острый панкреатит за последнее десятилетие занимает лидирующие позиции в практике абдоминальной хирургии, уступая место лишь острому аппендициту. А так же имеет ряд осложнений с неблагоприятными исходами. По данным литературы определено около 120 факторов, способные привести к развитию острого панкреатита. В данной статье преведены статистические данные социологического опроса, указывающие на ряд факторов способных привести к развитию данной патологии, частота их влияния, гендерные особенности а так же связи их между собой. Over the past decade, acute pancreatitis has taken a leading position in the practice of abdominal surgery, giving way only to acute appendicitis. It also has a number of complications with unfavorable outcomes. According to the literature, about 120 factors have been identified that can lead to the development of acute pancreatitis. This article presents the statistical data of a sociological survey, indicating a number of factors that can lead to the development of this patho logy, the frequency of their influence, gender characteristics, as well as their relationship with each other.

In the Republic of Moldova, the main factor contributing to the floods is the torrential rains from the warm semester of the year, which create favorable conditions for triggering strong, sometimes catastrophic floods in the rivers of the republic, especially in the smaller ones. During the study period, 40 floods with significant damage were recorded in the country, with an annual frequency ranging from 0 to 12 cases. In the administrativeterritorial profile, the damages caused by the aforementioned floods varied greatly. Based on the statistical data, a digital map was developed reflecting the degree of exposure of the territory of the Republic of Moldova in the administrative-territorial aspect to the mentioned risk, expressed by the value of the damages caused. In order to reduce the impact caused by the flood floods, measures have been developed to prevent, reduce and combat the negative effects of that risk.

The idea that allometry in the context of brain evolution mainly result from constraints channelling the scaling of brain components is deeply embedded in the field of comparative neurobiology. Constraints, however, only prevent or limit changes, and cannot explain why these changes happen in the first place. In fact, considering allometry as a lack of change may be one of the reasons why, after more than a century of research, there is still no satisfactory explanatory framework for the understanding of species differences in brain size and composition in mammals. The present paper attempts to tackle this issue by adopting an adaptationist approach to examine the factors behind the evolution of brain components. In particular, the model presented here aims to explain the presence of patterns of covariation among brain components found within major taxa, and the differences between taxa. The key determinant of these patterns of covariation within a taxon-cerebrotype (groups of species whose brains present a number of similarities at the physiological and anatomical levels) seems to be the presence of taxon-specific patterns of selection pressures targeting the functional and structural properties of neural components or systems. Species within a taxon share most of the selection pressures, but their levels scale with a number of factors that are often related to body size. The size and composition of neural systems respond to these selection pressures via a number of evolutionary scenarios, which are discussed here. Adaptation, rather than, as generally assumed, developmental or functional constraints, thus appears to be the main factor behind the allometric scaling of brain components. The fact that the selection pressures acting on the size of brain components form a pattern that is specific to each taxon accounts for the peculiar relationship between body size, brain size and composition, and behavioural capabilities characterizing each taxon. While it is important to avoid repeating the errors of the “Panglossian paradigm”, the elements presented here suggests that an adaptationist approach may shed a new light on the factors underlying, and the functional consequences of, species differences in brain size and composition.

The unsystematic use of mountain pastures with overgrazing of grasses has led to a change in the ecological balance of agrolandscapes, in which 80-85% of the Central Caucasus lands have turned into a state of varying degrees of degradation. In these cases, an important measure in the restoration of degraded mountain forage lands is the sowing of perennial grasses into sparse grass and on bare soil, which increases stiffness. Therefore, the development and creation of a seeder for targeted seeding of grass mixtures in solving the problem is relevant. The authors of the article have developed a new resource-saving way to improve mountain forage lands using a modernized seeder. Tests and studies were carried out at a mountain hospital, located on the southeastern exposition of the Dargavs depression of the North Ossetia-Alania, at an altitude of 1650 m above sea level. It was found that at a concentration of 17.2 MJ of energy in 1 kg of dry matter of feed, the total collection in the control plot was 29.7 GJ, and in the seeded experimental field 85.3 GJ. At the same time, the formation of a dense sod with the accumulation of 104.2 c / ha of root mass is the main factor in the environmental sustainability of mountain agrolandscapes, ensuring environmental safety

The article discusses the historical aspects of the design of sanitary protection zones. The current situation of industrial enterprises and their regulatory sanitary protection zones has been established based on the land use and development rules of Tomsk using the ArcCis geographic information system. A number of factors in the violation of urban space are noted and possible measures for its restoration are proposed.

Results of calculations and forecast of water consumption in the Dongnai River (Vietnam) for the period till 2020 are discussed. The analysis, the water regime forecast and water consumption optimization are considered the basis for sustainable water use formation and attaining of water resources use effectiveness in the Vietnam’s national economy providing securing of environmental safety, particularly, necessary hydrological conditions for preservation of the mangrove forest ecosystem of the «Kanzio» specially protected natural territory near the river’s mouth.

New challenges in the efficient management of cities depend on a deep knowledge of their inner structures. It is therefore very important to have access to reliable models of cities characteristics and organization. This paper aims at providing and validating a stochastic modelization based on statistical data of buildings parameters which can be useful as an entry for many other models considered in a wide range of fields where buildings structure is a main factor of a thorough modelization of cities. The interest of such an approach is highlighted through the detection of errors in the data or as a tool for visual clustering.

The article is devoted to the study of the role of self-actualization and profession motives in the profession selection in adolescents. Research has shown that increasing the level of self-actualization in adolescents depends on a number of factors, including the self-esteem of adolescents, changing their attitudes towards their potential and the nature of the formative work carried out with them. However, research has shown that there is a correlative dependency, and this dependence is positive, between adolescents' profession selection and self-assessment, self-actualization, and training costs.

Bioethanol production from renewable sources to be used in transportation is now an increasing demand worldwide due to continuous depletion of fossil fuels, economic and political crises, and growing concern on environmental safety. Mainly, three types of raw materials, that is, sugar juice, starchy crops, and lignocellulosic materials, are being used for this purpose. This paper will investigate ethanol production from free sugar containing juices obtained from some energy crops such as sugarcane, sugar beet, and sweet sorghum that are the most attractive choice because of their cost-effectiveness and feasibility to use. Three types of fermentation process (batch, fed-batch, and continuous) are employed in ethanol production from these sugar juices. The most common microorganism used in fermentation from its history is the yeast, especially,Saccharomyces cerevisiae, though the bacterial speciesZymomonas mobilisis also potentially used nowadays for this purpose. A number of factors related to the fermentation greatly influences the process and their optimization is the key point for efficient ethanol production from these feedstocks.

In this article we identified a number of factors influencing the consumers’ perceived risk. In the first part we conducted a review of the main issues that define the perceived risk by the consumer at the time of purchase, some of the lines of action of the organizations to diminish this risk perception and a number of influencing factors presented in the literature, with significant impact on the intensity with which risk is perceived by consumers. The second part of the article is based on the statistical information regarding e-commerce market, market in which the perceived risk plays an important role in the purchasing decision. Thus, based on available official statistics provided by Eurostat we have revealed the existence of certain links between electronic commerce and orientation towards risk and income levels, age and consumer educational level. The review is not intended to be exhaustive, the study taking into consideration only those links that can be identified from using official statistical data.
