Introduction:The cardio respiratory fitness is having an greater role in the reduction of morbidity mortality related to the cardiac disease .In India cardiac diseases are the major cause factor for the mortality. Around 80% of death is happening in India due to cardio respiratory diseases. In 18th centuries cardiovascular disease risk age groups lies in the age above 40 years but in the current situation its being reduced to the 25-30 years due to lifestyle changes and dietary alternations. This statistics reveals the importance of early detection of risk contributing factors and the modification of such risk factors. Which can effectively beneficial for the upcoming adults. Need and Significance of the Study:Researcher have noticed high incidence of mortality due to cardiovascular disorder among young adults. The causative factor behind this is poor cardio-respiratory fitness. Thus researcher felt the need to undertake this study to identify the influencing factors of cardio-respiratory fitness among young nursing students. Aim of The Study:To identify and explore the influencing factors of cardio-respiratory fitness among young nursing students. Objectives: 1. To assess influencing factors of cardio-respiratory fitness among nursing students. 2. To determine association and correlation of cardio-respiratory determinants (VO2 max ,HRR & Tolerated time in TMT) with selected demographic variables. 3. To determine association and correlation of cardio-respiratory determinants (VO2 max , HRR & Tolerated time in TMT) with selected clinical profile . 4. To determine association and correlation of cardio-respiratory determinants (VO2 max, HRR & Tolerated time in TMT) with selected diagnostic tests findings.. Background:Filariasis affects millions of people in tropical and subtropical regions of the world and is caused by nematode roundworm. In order to develop a vaccine and specific diagnostic tests, it is important to characterize different stages of the filarial worms. Microfilariae (Mf) stage of the roundworm is found in host’s blood or lymph vessels and can be important not only for developing better immunodiagnostics but also for understanding immune recognition and its relevance to immunepathogenesis and protective immunity. Objective:The present study aimed to immunocharacterize Mf and adult worm antigens that could be helpful in future diagnostic tests.Method:Four different immune sera against Setaria cervi intact live, intact live with adjuvant, intact glutaraldehyde fixed with adjuvant and total somatic Mf were prepared and used for the immunocharacterization of Mf antigens. Results:Our study results suggest that compared to fixed intact Mf, live intact Mf are more immunogenic, as the immune sera generated against intact live Mf showed high ELISA reactivity with Setaria cervi Mf and adult worm antigens. All the four immune sera IgG fractions had surface specificity as determined through considerable ELISA reactivity with S. cervi intact Mf. When tested under native conditions (immunoelectrophoresis and crossed immunoelectrophoresis), all the four immune rabbit sera were able to detect antigens of S. cervi Mf and adult stages. Conclusion:These results can be useful in detailed understanding of the complex nature of the Mf and adult antigens, which are prerequisites in the development of vaccine and more specific diagnostic tests.

Abstract Objectives Cervical component of thymus is noted more in children and young adults than in older age group. CT texture (lobules of soft tissue interspersed with fat), similarity with CT density of mediastinal thymus and continuity with mediastinal thymus on sagittal/coronal images, are given as the criteria for diagnosis of the cervical thymus. But CT densities of cervical and mediastinal components of the thymus may vary. The purpose of our study was to compare CT densities of cervical and mediastinal parts of the thymus, in cases where ultrasonography correlation was available. Methods We retrospectively identified 22 patients who had undergone CT between May 2015 and May 2017 and in whom ultrasonography (USG) correlation was available. CT densities of cervical and mediastinal components of thymus were measured. Results CT density of cervical thymus is lower than the CT density of mediastinal thymus by ~ 25 HU. There is a moderate positive correlation between CT densities of cervical and mediastinal parts of the thymus. CT densities of both cervical and mediastinal thymus were found to reduce with age, but the reduction was statistically significant only in the cervical thymus in this study. Conclusions CT densities of cervical and mediastinal components of the thymus may vary, with CT density of cervical thymus being lower. There is a positive correlation between CT densities of cervical and mediastinal parts of the thymus. CT density of cervical thymus reduces with age. Understanding these may help avoid confusion on CT and avoid the need for correlative USG, saving time and effort.

Abstract Investigating the underlying predictors of speeding behaviour deserves the full attention of research. This study aims to examine the effects of demographic variables on the perceived deterrent mechanisms and to predict speeding behaviour to target appropriate prevention programmes. In this study, 212 randomly selected drivers having a valid car driving licence participated in an online survey. The results revealed that demographic variables influenced drivers’ perceptions towards social and legal sanctions as well as material loss. The model revealed that two sanction-related constructs, that is, legal sanction (b = −0⋅227, P = 0⋅007) and material loss (b = −0⋅218, P = 0⋅005), as well as lax perception towards traffic accident (b = −0⋅176, P = 0⋅025), were the significant predictors of speeding behaviour. These findings suggested that prevention programmes should prioritise young and single drivers. The most effective targeted prevention programmes are highlighted accordingly based on the study results.

Teaching methods to improve the safety of care for patients has been a priority for nurse educators. This article discusses the student nurses’ use of error reporting tools in the clinical setting, revealing study results completed by the Quality and Safety Officer in a School of Nursing and Health Professions. The aim was to report on the use of safety tools and the perception of safety issues in clinical settings identified by 121 prelicensure baccalaureate nursing students. Responses suggest that it is challenging for nursing students to report errors and near miss events. Barriers exist for the nursing student. The survey reveals difficulty in reporting but discloses that safety for the patient continues to be a primary concern for the nursing student.

The absence of nursing students from classrooms and clinical has a negative impact on their performance and prolongs the length of their studying. The aim of this study is to identify the influencing factors of absenteeism among nursing students at Minia University. This study was conducted at the Faculty of Nursing at Minia University, and Minia University Hospitals. The sample of students that participated in the study represented all academic levels as follows: first level 49/370, second level 49/292, third level 52/248, and fourth level 50/220. Data were collected with the use of a self-administered questionnaire. This study revealed that influencing factors of absenteeism among the studied nursing students indicated that the highest mean scores were associated with teaching factors, followed by assessment factor where means scores were (18.3 ± 4.5, and 17.1 ± 5.6, respectively). Also, the lowest mean score reported was associated with social problems (mean = 8.9 ± 3.2). This study concluded that the most common contributory factors in student absenteeism were related to teaching factors including a shortage of staff in the clinical area, and lack of understanding of the lecture content. Recommendations: Providing a safe learning environment, keeping accurate records of attendance and calculating absenteeism rates at frequent intervals are required for identifying each individual’s pattern of attendance.

PurposeThe purpose of this research is to examine gender differences while controlling for select variables on job satisfaction using data collected from employees in the hospitality industry.Design/methodology/approachThe study was conducted on 397 employees (234 males and 163 females) in five‐star hotels in Ankara, Turkey.FindingsThe level of job satisfaction is determined by four factors: “management conditions”, “personal fulfillment”, “using ability in the job”, and “job conditions”. The study results show that significant gender differences exist with regard to the “using ability in the job” dimension of job satisfaction. After controlling such variables as age, marital status, monthly income level, education, type of department, position held, length of time in the organization, length of time in the tourism sector, and frequency of job change, most gender differences remained significant.Research limitations/implicationsThe use of hotel employees solely representing five‐star hotels may be considered a limitation of this study. The results provide information that can be utilized in understanding, maintaining, and increasing the satisfaction levels of both female and male employees. The findings indicate that fairness and equity in salary and wages are effective tools to increase the job satisfaction levels of male and female employees.Originality/valueThis study focuses on the identification of gender‐specific drivers of job satisfaction while controlling for select demographic variables. The study provides insight into employees' perceptions of certain aspects of the nature of the hospitality and tourism sector in Turkey.
