Abstrak

Tracking and Chromakey as Visual Effect Design Technique (Study Case: Video Clip Visual Effect. Visual effect in audio visual media and animation is commonly use, especially chromakey technique or usually described as green screen or blue screen, a certain color element to acknowledge the alpha channel. In compositing technique, the using of tracking and chromakey technique are both known as visual effect technique. But on online editing works, the result seldom not at its best. This problem is usually occurred from early production process until the final process in the process of video making. The quality of final result based on early raw footage used. The objective of this research is to know the technical factors to achieve better method appliance in order to enhance the quality of final result. The study case is video clip that has short duration, more variative and has natural compositing result. The literature studies of software and user approached is the method use to analyses the problem. The result of this research is the understanding of tracking and chromakey method in video clip making process to achieve the visual effect needed.

The definition and creation of assembly cells is one of the most important fundamentals of production general process planning. Currently, only a few researches made on this issue are still based on 2D engineering drawings at home and abroad. Moreover, during practical production general process planning, process designers partition assembly cells especially for complex structure on 2D engineering drawings by manual way. These methods cannot evidently meet the demands of 3D digital technology development and applications for modern products. In this paper, the techniques of assembly cell partition for complex structure are investigated based on its 3D modeling. The 3D Process Split Space is defined and constructed respectively, and the methods of the component recognition and assembly cell modeling are established. The proposed techniques are initially developed and verified on the CATIA V5 system.

The research aims to obtain the professional development model needs of teachers in mastering digital technology to improve the quality of education. Technology development in education has forced all parties to integrate various educational activities according to current conditions. The research method used mixed research involving qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Data were collected through a survey which was completed with observation and interviews. Analysis of qualitative data is in the form of narrative through data reduction, data presentation, and concluding stages. In contrast, quantitative data is the result of digital technology needs presented in percentages. The analysis results show that digital technology is still not fully used in teaching and learning activities. This also impacts teachers' understanding of the technology application model in schools and students' achievement.

The long lifecycle, also known as durability and the permanence / invariability in the quality of papers and cardbords for graphic art, are today the basic requirements, imposed by printed art in terms of high quality parameters. These two factors are a manifestation, depending on different internal chemical-composition properties of the paper consistency and external influences of the ambience. Longevity and permanence are perceived as a function of aging and are actually observed at a later point in time. It is important to clarify that they are terms with different contents where „durability” is perceived as the ability of the paper or cardboard to resist the impact of wear during use, and the „permanence” is the possibility of product to remain chemically and physically stable for a long period of time.

In this paper the behaviors and tendencies in the use of digital technologies by university students are analyzed. After a short discussion of former studies and the presentation of the model for digital literacy structure and assessment in students attending compulsory school, the investigation carried out by the authors is described and the results obtained from the analysis of the university students’ answers is reported. The survey was submitted to 331 students in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Cassino, Italy, and the students’ answers show a contradictory reality: on one side, digital technologies are mainly used to communicate in social networks or to play music and movies, on another side it is evident the students’ interest for the most recent aspects of the application of digital technology and for the improvement in the quality of their use.

This chapter examines spatial confinement in the eponymous department store of Émile Zola’s Au Bonheur des Dames. A close reading of one of the novel’s sale chapters reveals that the store director mobilizes several strategies to engender a suffocating atmosphere at the temporary exhibition. Linking literary space and publicity, the chapter argues that the store’s promotional balloons act as ephemeral, yet dynamic advertisements that dismantle interior and exterior space. The balloons instantiate the ephemeral quality of the sales since, in spite of their brief duration, they produce a lasting visual effect that problematizes a spatial framework opposing interior and exterior spaces. This reading suggests that publicity contributes to the claustrophobia of commerce in Zola’s fictional ephemeral exhibitions.

Abstract Assistive technology has been recognized as a promising tool to improve the lives of persons living with dementia and their caregivers. The use of assistive technology in dementia care is expanding, although it is most often applied to manage care and promote safety. There is a lack of assistive technology designed to aid persons with dementia to participate in meaningful activities. The present study utilizes a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) design to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and effects of an assistive technology device, the Social Support Aid (SSA), designed to assist persons with dementia engage in social interaction. Quantitative data were collected initially and three and six months later, and participants in the technology group participated in qualitative interviews. Feasibility and utility scores indicated that participants felt neutral about the technology. Use of the SSA was not significantly associated with changes in quality of social interactions or quality of life measures over the six months of follow-up (P > .05). The qualitative analysis revealed three themes that described how and why the SSA worked or did not: (1) outcomes (2) reasons why (not) useful and (3) recommendations. There is a need to develop effective assistive technology that improves the quality of life of persons with dementia. Assistive technology that allows persons living with dementia to maintain some level of autonomy should be a priority for future research. Results provide recommendations for future assistive technology development and evaluation.
