Purpose: This study evaluates the relationship between tinnitus magnitude and depression and statetrait anxiety. Methods: A total of 65 subjects suffering from tinnitus participated. None reported any hearing problems. The participants filled in the Tinnitus Magnitude Index (TMI), the Korean version of the Beck depression inventory, and the Korean version of state-trait anxiety questionnaires with 61 out of 65 subjects completing all the questionnaires. Results: No significant relationships between tinnitus magnitude and depression or state-trait anxiety were found. However, items for the TMI were found to be significantly related (p < 0.05), and depression and state-strait anxiety also had a significant relationship (p < 0.05).Conclusion: We concluded that the TMI was not sensitive when used for assessing depression and anxiety in individuals who are suffering from tinnitus, which implying that the TMI questionnaire is useful for a quick assessment tool of the severity of tinnitus in individuals.

Objective: The aim of this study is to examine factors that can affect revanchist behavior such as emotional state and sleep quality, and to evaluate the relationship between them. Materials and Methods: 461 individuals at the age of 18 and above who referred to our polyclinic for any reason, and agreed to participate were included in the study via conducting a survey after their written consents were obtained. A survey that consisted of socio-demographic information in the first section, and “the Vengeance Scale”, “the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index”, “the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory” and “Beck Depression Inventory” in the second section was applied to the participants. The data were analyzed with IBM SPSS V23. Results: 52.7% of the participants were male and 47.3% were female. The mean age of the study group was 37.4 ± 11.2 years. 51.4% of the participants had severe depression according to the Beck Depression Inventory, while 20.4% had moderate, 16.3% had minimal and 11.9% had mild depression. The median value of the revanchist behavior levels did not differ according to gender (p=0.257). The median value of the revanchist behavior levels in males were 82, while it was 75 in female participants. The median value of the revanchist behavior levels did not differ according to the educational background (p=0.727). A statistically significant relationship was not found between revanchist behavior levels and age, state anxiety, trait anxiety, Beck depression point and PSQI (p>0.05). Conclusion: The absence of a significant relationship between revenge behavior and age, anxiety level, depression and sleep quality will help us to improve the quality of life of societies rather than personal psychological characteristics, and this behavior level that can also cause violence will be minimized.

Teachers begin to experience symptoms of fatigue due to heavy workload characterized by working ineffectively in the classroom so that the interest of the students declined. This study aims to test whether there is relationship between self-regulation and burnout in teachers. The population was junior high school’s teacher. This study use population research, where all the population used as a sample. Researchers use all certified teachers in the school, participants are 35 teachers. The approach used is quantitative method. Data collected using self-regulation and burnout scales, and analyzed using pearson product moment correlation test. The results obtained from this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between self-regulation with burnout in teachers. Significant relationships are seen from the p-value of 0.017 and r value of -0.401. The r value indicates that the relationship between the two variables have a negative direction, meaning that the higher of self-regulation, the lower of burnout. Individual’s good self-regulation be able to cope stress and emotions, because of burnout arising drag on stress experienced by the individual.

We examined the relationship between verbal disclosure of sexual orientation and mental health among gay Latino and gay White men. In Study 1, we recruited 164 gay Latino ( n = 81) and gay White ( n = 83) men via Amazon’s Mechanical Turk (MTurk). Participants completed measures assessing the degree to which they verbally disclosed their gay identity to others, as well as their depression and anxiety symptoms. Increased verbal disclosure predicted better mental health among gay White men only; no statistically significant relationships emerged among gay Latinos. In Study 2, we recruited 281 gay Latino ( n = 130) and White ( n = 151) men via MTurk, in which feelings of shame and guilt independently mediated the relationship between verbal disclosure and mental health. Among gay White men, increased verbal disclosure predicted less shame and guilt, which predicted better mental health. These relationships did not emerge for gay Latinos.

The contributions of frequency of positive and negative self-statements and their ratio, locus of control, and depression in prediction of self-esteem were examined. Volunteers were 145 college students (100 women and 45 men) who were administered the Coopersmith Self-esteem Inventory-Adult Form, Automatic Thought Questionnaire—Revised, the Beck Depression Inventory, and the Rotter Internal-External Locus of Control Scale. Intercorrelations suggested significant relationships among variables. The magnitude of the relationship was strongest between the frequency of negative self-statements and self-esteem. These results are consistent with and lend further support to prior studies of Kendall, et al. and Schwartz and Michaelson.

Emerging economies have been trying to improve economic growth with the help of different policies like R&D, technology development, technology transfer and patents. Despite the large amount of literature on the relationship between technology, direct government R&D support, R&D activities and patents, it has not been clearly defined in emerging economies. With this research based on 191 observations from companies in the Aegean Region of Turkey, we have found significant relationships between technological infrastructures, inward technology transfer and patents. Furthermore, the findings prove that there is a significant relationship between R&D activities, R&D experience and patents. Surprisingly, there is no significant relationship between outward technology transfer, direct government R&D support and patents. These results contribute to the literature on the relationship between direct R&D support, R&D activities, technology and patents in emerging economies.

Although there is strong evidence for the relationship between depressive symptoms and medical problems, few studies have directly examined the association between depression and specific medical complaints. The purpose of the current research was to investigate the relationship between depression and complaints in specific bodily systems in a sample of psychiatric inpatients. 55 patients, with a mean age of 40.72 yr. ( SD = 13.98), completed the Beck Depression Inventory and the Cornell Medical Index Health Questionnaire. Significant relationships were found between level of depression and the frequency of symptoms reported in the cardiovascular, skin, and nervous systems.

The study investigated Witkin's suggestion that low manifest anxiety is associated with relatively high perceptual articulation, whereas high anxiety is associated with relatively low perceptual articulation. Previous research typically has not provided adequate control for subjects' IQ; therefore, results may have been confounded by differences in subjects' ability. This study attempted to clarify the relationship between state and trait anxiety and perceptual articulation when IQ was controlled for 60 female subjects, who fell within a predetermined IQ range and were blocked into low, moderate and high A-Trait groups. Half of each group was assigned to either low or high ego-involving conditions. All subjects completed the Embedded-figures Test, Gestalt Completion and Concealed Words Tests. Contrary to Witkin, the study yielded no significant relationship between anxiety and perceptual articulation.

This study was designed for comparing between manic and mixed episodes and the relationship between these episodes and special scores were evaluated. This analytical - observational study was performed in Kerman Beheshti hospital / Kerman / Iran : one hundred and eighty six bipolar inpatients with diagnosis of manic and mixed episodes were included in study. They were assessed with the Young mania and Beck Depression Inventory.Frequency of pure mania was 22.6%. The mean of age of onsent was lower in mixed type (P = 0.02). Young score was higher in pure mania (p = 0.026).Spearman's correlation coefficient show strong relationship between duration of hospitalization and young score (p = 0.0001).These is significant relationship between Beck score and family history of bipolar disorder (p < 0.05). and there was significant relationship between Beck score and patient’s insight overlay, comorbidity of personality disorder was 26.3 was similar in both groups. There were significant relationships between age of onset of illness and positive familial history of bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder, and between suicidal attept and panic disorder and social phobia, however rapid cycling was higher in mixed patients significantly (p = 0.009).As far as we know This is the first study regarding relationship between bipolar subtypes and severity of mood disorders in Iran. This study is a part of a larger study including several provinces in Iran.We believed the prevalence of mixed state is not well known and in many cases it could be underdiagnosed.
