Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most common health complaints in the community. About 80 percent of adults have experienced this condition. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The study was conducted at the Ulos Sianipar Gallery onAugust 2021. The population in this study were all weavers who worked at the Ulos Sianipar Gallery Medan as many as 54 people by using the slovin formula obtained sample of 48 people. Data was collected through a questionnaire, specifically for work attitudes with the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method, carried out with the help of cameras, bows and worksheets. The results showed that individual factors: age (p=0.003), body mass index (p=0.044) and length of work (p=0.022); work environment factors: work duration (p=0.020) and rest time (p=0.018); and work factors: workload (p=0.001) and work attitude (p=0.001) have a relationship with LBP on weavers at Galeri Ulos Sianipar Medan. It is recommended for business owners to adjust the position of the thread on the weaving machine to the sitting position of the worker so that it does not require the worker to raise his hand higher, the weaver is advised to reduce or avoid awkward postures such as bending over which can cause muscle fatigue due to frequent or repetitive weaving.

Low back pain can be caused by a variety of musculosceletal diseases, psychological disorders and mobilization. Patients who performed MRI examinations were mostly caused by indications of Low Back Pain (LBP). LBP became an important problem in the United States, in Indonesia an estimated 40% of the population of Central Java aged over 65 years have suffered from low back pain, the prevalence in men is 18.2% and in women is 13.6%.  In recent years, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been used widely, including for diagnosis of LBP. This study aims to identify factors that affect the suffered of low back pain in patients undergoing an MRI examination which consists of personal factors covering : age, habits, smoking  exercise habits, height, obesity, and work factors (tenure, work duration). The research categorize as a quantitative research with cross-sectional design. This study used a sample of all cases of MRI examination with complaints of low back pain as many as 60 patients. Statistical tests using chi square and non-parametric Mann Whitney tests. From the results of the study found that those who suffer  of LBP are mostly from personal factors covering :  men, have jobs that have more burden (weight), more at the age of ≥ 35 years, no smoking, no exercise, height ≥ 163 cm, overweight / obesity, with tenure of ≥ 10 years, with a work duration ≥ 8 hours a day, and type of LBP suffered in the chronic categorized. The factors that caused LBP in this study were personal factors in the most dominant sequence is caused by age, smoking habits, exercise habits, height, BMI, tenure and work duration and type of LBP chronik.

Worldwide, low back pain is common and linked with many risk factors. There is a lack of studies in the Saudi Arabian community on low back pain prevalence and risk factors. Therefore, the present research will investigate the prevalence of low back pain in the middle-aged and elderly community population and examine the risk factors contributing to low back pain in Saudi Arabia. The present paper is a cross-sectional study of the community living in Riyadh and the surrounding areas in Saudi Arabia. Data were collected between October 2019 and April 2020 via trained research assistants. A total of 276 participants were included in the analysis. The prevalence of low back pain was 27.9% (n = 77) among the participants included in this study. All participants reported low back pain severity with a mean of 4.35 ± 2.19 on the pain rating scale. Older age, arthritis, hypertension, anemia, osteoporosis, and a history of fractures were all associated with having LBP. Low back pain is highly prevalent in the Saudi community adult population living in Riyadh and its surrounding areas. More than a fourth of the sample reported experiencing back pain. The study outlines several modifiable risk factors (BMI, education, employment status, marital status, and smoking status) and unmodifiable risk factors (arthritis, hypertension, anemia, osteoporosis, and a history of fractures) associated with low back pain in the study sample.

Summary Low back pain is a common reason for hospital referral but little is known of the resulting workload in different specialties. All new outpatient attendances for conditions with low back pain were recorded over one month in a teaching hospital and a district general hospital. The patients were seen in at least ten specialties and two-fifths of them had been seen previously with the same symptom in another department. In the two hospitals, low back pain accounted for 15% and 12% of all new outpatient attendances. A more coherent referral policy is needed.

Low back pain is one of the musculoskeletal disorders caused by repetitive movements and poor body activities. Almost 80% of the population has experienced low back pain in their life cycle. Low back pain is one of the most common complaints related to a job. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors associated with the incidence of low back pain in brick-making workers. This research method is a quantitative research using a cross sectional design. The population is 38 people with purposive sampling technique sampling. Bivariate analysis using Chi Square test. The results showed that from 38 workers there were 25 people who experienced low back pain. The results of the chi square test showed that there was a relationship between age and low back pain (p = 0.001) and there was a relationship between years of service and low back pain (p = 0.0001). It is recommended that workers always apply ergonomics principles in doing their work so as to reduce the level of risk of low back pain, for brick industry owners it is recommended to re-design work facilities and add mechanical aids to eliminate manual hazards, as well as suggestions for related agencies should make policies and supervision of problems in the informal sector, especially the brick industry.

Over 80% of the adult population will experience an episode of low back pain (LBP). Low back pain is a pain in the lumbosacral region. When it progresses, which may be identified earlier with signs of a red flag, the manifestation might become radiculopathy. Radiculopathies are nerve root disease which may show signs of neurologic symptoms from the sensory, motoric, or autonomic origin. This study to help identify the clinical characteristics of a red flag in low back pain patients, which became lumbar radiculopathy for prognostic and diagnostic use. It is a descriptive quantitative cross-sectional study of medical records from patients hospitalized with complaints of low back pain with lumbar radiculopathy between January 2013–December 2015 in the Department of Neurology, Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, Bandung. It identifies a specific red flag and neurogenic symptoms. Patients most affected were housewives (26%), females (60%), and middle-aged adults (31%). The highest recorded symptom being sensory (76%), the highest progression was sensory to motoric (59%), affected by all three neurologic symptoms (39%), and trauma was the highest red flag recorded (48%). Low back pain patients who have signs of red flag show a high tendency to develop radiculopathy, which shows neurologic symptoms. If left untreated earlier, it may become a permanent disability.

Paving block workers are included in the informal sector and have a risk of lower back pain. Documenting the workers’ health status in the informal sector has not been done well so that workers do not get protection from the government. Heavy physical work puts pressure on the spine associated with repeated body twisting. This study aims to determine work attitude, length of employment, and exercise habits related to low back pain in Pontianak paving block workers in 2018. This type of research is observational with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling uses total sampling. The research sample of 56 paving block workers in the city of Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Data is processed with a computer program. Data analysis was performed univariate and bivariate and tested using the Chi-square test, with α = 5%. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the length of the work (p = 0.013), work attitude (p-value = 0.038), and exercise habits (p = 0.003) with low back pain.
