One way of improving understanding of English for Specific Purposes is through Contextual Redefinition Strategy (CRS). The implementation of CRS is meant to enhance the understanding of students of STMIK STIKOM Indonesia mostly in computers and business terms. The implementation of CRS is done through Classroom Action Research (CAR) in 3 stages of activities; those are pre-implementation, Middle Test (Cycle I) and Final Test (Cycle II). Besides, questionnaire is used with the purpose to know students’ attitude towards CRS’ implementation. The results of reading test on pre–implementation show that out of 40 students, there were 26 students did not get the lowest score 55 as the passing score of the college. After the explanation of CRS stages, middle and Final Tests tested the topics of reading texts on computers and business through search for clues in nearby words or sentences, and paragraphs of a text. Specific context clues that should be explicitly considered to understand the meaning of the sentences are definition/explanation, synonym/restatement, antonym/contrast, inference/general, and punctuation context. The results of Middle Test show that 22 students could get the score above 55, however most of students made mistakes in making redefinition based on inference/general and punctuation context. The results of Cycle II show that all students can score above 55. Besides, the results show that the students could improve their understanding for inference/general and punctuation context. The questionnaire shows that the students are motivated to acquire more and more vocabularies based on the needs for computer and business terms. The implementation of CRS does not only improve students’ ability to understand English based on its context but also enrich the vocabularies.

This article reports on a study intended to explain  punctuations was presumed could better improve the students’ reading skill  by using google classroom application at the grade XII MS 1 of SMA Negeri Plus Riau Province and to explain what factors that change it. The data were collected by using observation checklists, field notes and tests. Qualitative data were analyzed by data managing, reading or memoing, describing, classifying, interpreting. Quantitative data were analyzed by percentage (scores of reading test by using google classroom application), matrix and graph. This classroom action research consisted of two cycles constituting 3 meetings for each cycle. The result of this research shows that the students’ reading skill by using google classroom application improved in each cycles. At the end of the first cycle, the percentage of the students’ reading skill by using google classroom application was 83.20%. But, the result was unsatisfied yet. At the end of the second cycle, the improvement of the students’ reading skill by using google classroom application texts was 90.40%.. It means that there is the improvement of the students’ reading skill through punctuations by using google classroom application at the end of second cycle. This research aimed to find the use of Patterned Partner Reading strategy improve the students reading comprehension at the SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung. The researcher used A Classroom Action Research (CAR). The researcher had conducted two cycles, where each cycle consisted of four meetings. This classroom action research was one at SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung. As subject in this research was the second class with students’ number as about 30 students consist of 7 man and 23 women. The instruments were observation sheet and test sheet. The research findings indicated that the application of patterned partner reading strategy was effective and significant in improving the students’ reading skill especially students’ reading comprehension. It was proved that the mean score of D-Test was 60.8, Cycle I 75.5 and after conducted Cycle II improved to 93 And based of mean score of students’ reading comprehension during two cycle researcher found percentage improvement that is from D-Test to Cycle I is 24.17% and from Cycle I to Cycle II is 23.17 and D-Test to Cycle II 52.96%. The aims of this research were to find whether Quantum Learning Method is effective inincreasing students’ understanding in learning poetry and how Quantum Learning Method affects thestudents’ understanding in learning poetry during the teaching and learning process. This researchapplied Classroom Action Research model, thus it used both quantitative and qualitative data. Thequantitative data were taken from the results of final test and the qualitative data were taken fromfield notes and observation sheet. Meanwhile, this study was conducted in one cycle only sincethe results from cycle one was successful. Therefore this study did not continue to the next cycle. The result from the final test showed that 100% of the students passed the test with the averagepoints of 15,05 (75,25). Thus, the use of instrumental music as one of the techniques of QuantumLearning Method helped the students to feel comfortable and relaxed during the activities in theclassroom. The selective instrumental music provided a supportive atmosphere for the students tofeel relaxed and comfortable while doing the learning activities; both reading and analyzing.Basedon the findings, it can be concluded that the use of Quantum Learning Method in learning poetry waseffective. Thus, because of its effectiveness in helping students to learn poetry, it is suggested to beused in the classroom. Keywords: Quantum Learning, Poetry, Classroom Action Research, music, instrumentalmusic.

This classroom action research is motivated learning conditions IPS in SMP Negeri 3 Belawang particular class VIII A shows the very low interest in learning and learning outcomes that have not reached the minimum standard of thoroughness is 68. The exact cause is lack of teaching and learning strategies are applied, thus requiring their approach and a suitable method in learning. The hypothesis in this study is action If implemented cooperative learning model tife Scrambel, then the interest and student learning outcomes VIIIA class in SMPN 3 Belawang will increase. The method used in this research is a classroom action research method, commonly known by the term Classroom Action Research, which is a scrutiny of the learning activities in the form of an action, which is deliberately raised and occur within a class together. Based on the first cycle there is an increase in total score of 2.00 out of a score of 75.57 into a 77.57 score in spite of the increase in the average score of the class in the first cycle small however, can be overcome with improved learning outcomes in the second cycle is counted from 75.21 into 80.15 as well as the classical completeness also increased from post test cycle 1 at 78.57 percent and the post test cycle 2 at 82.14 percent. Keywords: Interest, Learning Outcomes, IPS, Model Scrambel
