Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati dan upaya pelestariannya melalui metode karyawisata. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTsN Model Banda Aceh. Metode penelitian adalah metode eksperimen. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 2 kelas yang ditentukan secara random terdiri dari kelas eksperimen menggunakan metode karyawisata dan kelas kontrol dengan metode ekspositori. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan uji-z dengan bantuan program SPSS 16.0 for window. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara penerapan metode karyawisata dengan metode ekspositori terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa; (2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara penerapan metode karyawisata dengan metode ekspositori terhadap peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Kata Kunci: Metode Karyawisata, Pemahaman Konsep, Keterampilan Proses Sains dan Keanekaragaman Hayati The purposes of this study were to know the improvement of students’ concept understanding and science processing skill in biodiversity material and its preservation effort through field trip method. The study was conducted in MTsN Model Banda Aceh. The method used was experimental research. The sample of this study was two classes which was determined by cluster random sampling that consisted of experimental class that used field trip method and control class that used expository method. The data then analyzedby using z- test with SPSS 16,0 for windows. The results showed that: (1) There was significant difference between using field trip method and expository method toward the improvement of students’ concept understanding. (2) There was significant difference between the aplication of field trip method and expository method in improving students’ science processing skill. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in students' understanding of biodiversity material and its preservation efforts through the field trip method. This research was carried out in the MTsN Model Banda Aceh, while the field trip location is the Mata Ie Forest in Darul Imarah sub-district and the Taman Rusa in Suka Makmur sub district, Aceh Besar. The research method is experimental method. The samples in this study were 2 randomly determined classes consisting of one experimental class of 36 students using the field trip method and one control class of 36 students with the expository method. The data analysis technique was carried out with the z-test with SPSS 16.0. The results showed that the concept understanding for the control class was 70 and the experimental class was 76. There was a significant difference between the application of the field trip method and the expository method to students' understanding of the biodiversity concept. It can be concluded that the application of the field trip method can increase student interest in learning, specifically for biodiversity material and its preservation efforts.

The purpose of this research was to determine whether Improvisation Technique gave significant difference in teaching transactional and interpersonal conversation text toward students’ speaking ability. This research was also aimed to find out which components of students’ speaking were mostly improved after using Improvisation Technique. True experimental research was used where the sample was chosen by using cluster random sampling. The result of this research showed that the students had made some progresses. It showed that the mean score of students’ speaking ability in experimental class (79.50) was higher than the mean score of students’ speaking ability in control class (72.21). It means that teaching speaking by using Improvisation Technique gives significant effect towards students’ speaking ability. Based on the research finding, it can be concluded that using Improvisation Technique gave significant effect towards students’ speaking ability at class XI of Senior High School 12 Padang. Thus, it is recommended for English teacher should consider the use of Improvisation Technique as an alternative technique in teaching speaking for getting significant effect towards students’ speaking ability.

This research was done by applying experimental research and the design used was factorial design 2x2. The aims of this research were (1) to find out whether there is any different effect of students’ reading comprehension between an experimental and control class. (2) To find out the different on students’ reading comprehension between students who have high reading interest in an experimental class and a control class. (3) To find out the different on students’ reading comprehension between students who have low reading interest in an experimental class and a control class. (4) To find out whether there is any interaction between teaching strategies and reading interest on students’ reading comprehension. The samples were two classes of eleventh grade students of Social 1 and Social 2 of SMAN 16 Pekanbaru. The writer took the sample as cluster random sampling technique. The total sample was 60 students. The forms of the test were reading comprehension test and questionnaire. Finally, the results of the research show that: first, there was the significant score (sig.) 0.02 < 0.05 in students’ reading comprehension. It means that there is significant difference on students’ reading comprehension between an experimental class and control class. Second, there was no significant difference on students’ reading comprehension between students who have high reading interest in an experimental and control class. The sig value was 0.841 > 0.05. Third, there was significant difference on students’ reading comprehension between students who have low reading interest in an experimental and control class. The sig value was 0.03 > 0.05. Last, the sig value was 0.045 < 0.05. It means that there was an interaction between teaching strategy and reading interest on students’ reading comprehension at SMAN 16 Pekanbaru.Key words: Infographics, Reading Interest, Reading Comprehension

This research was aimed to find out whether significant effect of using Spot the Dictogloss to students’ listening skill at second grade students of SMAN 17 Batam in academic years 2015/2016. The research conducted experimental research in April 2016 and was held on second grade with the number of sample was 60 students of SMAN 17 Batam. The writer used cluster random sampling technique to determine class of the research. In this research, the writer conducted in two classes, XI IIS 1 and  XI IIS. The experimental class was taught listening by using spot the dictogloss, whereas the control class was taught listening by using running dictation strategy. Data was collected by multiple choice test. The result of the research showed there was a significant difference of the students’ achievement before conducted treatment which they had mean 40.5 for experimental class and 42.5 for control class. The average of the students’ achievement after conducted treatment in experimental class was 55.33 and in control class was 48.33. Based on this finding, it is suggested that spot the dictogloss could be used by the teacher to improve students’ listening skill.Keywords: spot the dictogloss, listening skill

This research aims to examine whether or not Collaborative Strategy Readingsignificantly affects on students’ reading comprehension. The research samples weretaken using cluster random sampling, with the total number of samples being 72students.The location of this research was SMK Pusaka 1 Jakarta. The research methodologyadopted was Quasi- Experimental methodby involving two groups, namely experimentgroup and control group, with the research design being randomized post-test only controlgroup design. To collect the data, the students were given objective test, numbering 30items. The research data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The findingsindicated that there was significant difference of post-test score between the students whois givenCollaborative Strategy Readingand students who did not getCollaborativeStrategy Reading. It can be seen from the data analysis by using ANOVA that showedFobserved (10.530) is higher than the critical value of Ftable (at the significant level of 0.05and df = 1/70), namely 3.98. It means that Collaborative Strategy Readinghas significanteffect on students’ reading comprehension in recount text.

Abstract This research investigated the use of Question and Answer Relationship Reading Strategy in increasing the students’ reading comprehension achievement. The research aimed to find out to what extent the improvement of the students’ reading comprehension achievement after being treated using Question and Answer Relationship (QAR) reading strategy. This research was conducted at the grade XII students of SMK Sasmita Jaya 2, Tangerang Selatan. This reaseach administrated cluster random sampling in taking the sample then decided two classes as the samples, one class was treated using QAR reading strategy and the other class was not. The method of the research was quantitative research under quasy experimental research. The result of the research shows that there was significant improvement of their reading comprehension after being treated using QAR reading strategy and there was also significant difference between the the students who were treated using QAR reading strategy and the students who were not.Keywords: Comprehension, Reading, Strategy, Students, QAR

Pemahaman konsep matematis merupakan kemampuan dasar yang sangat penting bagi siswa, namun kenyataan yang terjadi di lapangan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa masih rendah. Secara teori, pendekatan saintifik berbantuan Geogebra dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan dan perbedaan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan pendekatam saintifik berbantuan Geogebra dan yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen pada populasi siswa kelas XI MIA MA Negeri 1 Kerinci. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas XI MIA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih melalui teknik random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa digunakan rumus N-gain, sedangkan untuk mengetahui perbedaaan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dilakukan uji-t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menerapkan pendekatan saintifik berbantuan Geogebra dan yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa.The mathematical concepts understanding was a basic ability that must mastered by students. In the fact, the students’ mathematical concepts understanding was still low. By the thoery, the scientific approach assisted Geogebra can improve students' mathematical concept understanding. This research aims to determine the improvement and differences in mathematical concepts understanding of students who used scientific approaches assisted Geogebra and the students’ who used ordinary learning. This research was a quantitative research with experimental methods and eleventh-grade of science students (MIA) in MA Negeri 1 Kerinci as population. The sample of this study was XI MIA 1 students  as an experimental group and XI MIA 2 students as a control group that selected through random sampling technique. The instrument used was test to mesaure the students’ mathematical concepts understanding. To determine the increasing of students’ mathematical concepts, N-gain formula was used. While t-test was used to determine the differences in mathematical concepts understanding of students in experimen and control group. The result of data analysis shown that there is the significant difference in students’ mathematical concepts understanding who used scientific approaches assisted Geogebra and the students’ who used ordinary learning.

This research was aimed at find out the effect of using vibration animation and swell toward students physics in academic year 2015/2016. This research was experimental research. The population in the research is all of the students VIII SMP Negeri 3 Monta Bima. The researcher uses cluster random sampling for took the sample, those were took two class VIIIA as experimental class, and VIIIB as control class. The result in this research used normality uses SPSS 17 was significant > 0,05 in succession was 0,185 and 0,033 for experimental class, although for  control class was 0,173 and 0,023. Although the result of homogenytas experimental class was 3,263 and control class was 1,831. Based on the test result SPSS 17 by using test T-test provided the value of T count it  1.498 with the standard of significant 0,151 for class experimental, as for the control T count it  2.172 with the standard of significant 0,041. And so what happen is T count it  < T table. So Ho rejected and Ha accepted. Therefore can be concluded that there is vibration animation and swell have significant effect in learning students physics SMP Negeri 3 Monta Bima academic year 2015/2016.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw lebih baik daripada pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional di Kelas IX MTs Negeri 1 Kota Palu. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw lebih baik daripada pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Desain penelitian ini adalah pre-post test control design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX MTs Negeri 1 Kota Palu dengan teknik pengambilan sampel cluster random sampling. Nilai rata-rata siswa kelas eksperimen 47 dan standar deviasi 17,04 sedangkan nilai rata-rata siswa kelas kontrol 40 dan standar deviasi 13,40. Data yang diperoleh berdistribusi normal dan homogen, maka pengujian hipotesis menggunakan teknis statistik parametris yaitu uji t. Hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh bahwa nilai ????tabel = 1,67 dan ????hitung = 2,96 sehingga H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw lebih baik daripada pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional di kelas IX MTsN 1 Kota Palu. The hypothesis is that mathematics concept understanding students who learn by using jigsaw cooperative learning model better than students who learn by using conventional learning model. The type of research is a quasi experiment. Design of research is pre-post control design. The population of this research is all students of class IX  MTs Negeri 1 Kota Palu with samples taken by cluster random sampling technique. The average score of the experiment class students is 47 and standard deviation is 17.04 and the average score of the control class students is 40 and standard deviation is 13.40. The data is normal distribution and homogen, hypothesis test using t test. Results of hypothesis test obtained value ????table = 1.67 and ????count = 2.96 it means H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. This indicated that mathematics concept understanding students who learn by using jigsaw cooperative learning model have better than mathematics concept understanding students who learn by using conventional learning model in class IX MTsN 1 Kota Palu. Understanding on concept and retention is one of the achievement indicators in learning. This research attempts to describe the profile of concept and students’ retention understanding of Primary Teacher Education of PGRI University of Semarang in the year of 2014/2015. The method of this research was a survey using essay test instrument of concept understanding and retention. Cluster random sampling method was used to take sample from 231 students in class 1A, 1C, 1E, 1F, and 1H. The overall result of the concept understanding value was dominated in high category at 57.6%. The highest indicator of concept understanding was in memorizing indicator (C1) at 83.6% and the lowest one was in the creating indicator (C6) at 50.3%. The overall retention mark was dominated in poor category at 50.3%. The conclusion was the high concept understanding was not followed with high students’ memory.
