Pemahaman konsep matematis merupakan kemampuan dasar yang sangat penting bagi siswa, namun kenyataan yang terjadi di lapangan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa masih rendah. Secara teori, pendekatan saintifik berbantuan Geogebra dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan dan perbedaan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan pendekatam saintifik berbantuan Geogebra dan yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen pada populasi siswa kelas XI MIA MA Negeri 1 Kerinci. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas XI MIA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih melalui teknik random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa digunakan rumus N-gain, sedangkan untuk mengetahui perbedaaan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dilakukan uji-t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menerapkan pendekatan saintifik berbantuan Geogebra dan yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa.The mathematical concepts understanding was a basic ability that must mastered by students. In the fact, the students’ mathematical concepts understanding was still low. By the thoery, the scientific approach assisted Geogebra can improve students' mathematical concept understanding. This research aims to determine the improvement and differences in mathematical concepts understanding of students who used scientific approaches assisted Geogebra and the students’ who used ordinary learning. This research was a quantitative research with experimental methods and eleventh-grade of science students (MIA) in MA Negeri 1 Kerinci as population. The sample of this study was XI MIA 1 students  as an experimental group and XI MIA 2 students as a control group that selected through random sampling technique. The instrument used was test to mesaure the students’ mathematical concepts understanding. To determine the increasing of students’ mathematical concepts, N-gain formula was used. While t-test was used to determine the differences in mathematical concepts understanding of students in experimen and control group. The result of data analysis shown that there is the significant difference in students’ mathematical concepts understanding who used scientific approaches assisted Geogebra and the students’ who used ordinary learning.

The aims of this research to gain the result of effect TANDUR model to mathematical concept understanding and student’s mathematical reasoning. This research was quasi experiment with pretest-postest control group design. The population in this research was students of seventh grade SMP N 2 Natar academic year 2017/2018. The sampling technique used random sampling technique and divided onto two groups, experiment group and control group. The results of this research were: 1) there was influence of TANDUR learning model to mathematical concept understanding. 2) there were influence of TANDUR learning model to mathematical reasoning. 3) TANDUR model learning can affect simultaneously of mathematical concept understanding and mathematical reasoning.

AbstrakRendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Langke Rembong tahun ajaran 2018/2019 menjadi latar belakang masalah penelitian ini. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kontekstual terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa di sekolah ini. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu, dengan menggunakan desain Posttest Only Control Group Design.  Populasi yang dipilih  dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Langke Rembong  sebanyak 211 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sampling dan anggota sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 60 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes pemahaman konsep matematika yang berbentuk tes uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kontekstual lebih baik dari pada pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Model pembelajaran kontekstual dinilai dapat menghubungkan materi yang dipelajari dengan situasi kehidupan nyata. Contextual Learning Model’s Effect on Mathematical Concept Understanding of Middle School StudentsAbstractThe low ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students in grade VIII Langke Rembong 4 Public Middle School 2018/2019 school year fits the background of the problem of this research. The goal of this study was to discover the effect of contextual learning models on understanding the mathematical concepts of students in this school. This type of research is quasi-experimental research, using the design of the Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population chosen in this study were all eighth -grade students of Langke Rembong 4 SMP Negeri as many as 211 people. The sampling technique used random sampling and the sample members in this study were 60 people. Data was collected by using mathematical concept understanding test instruments in the form of description tests. The results of the study show that understanding the mathematical concepts of students who are taught by the contextual learning model is better than understanding the mathematical concepts of students who are taught with conventional learning models. The contextual learning model is assessed to be able to relate the material learned with real-life situations.

This research was done due to the lack of students' motivation in writing in MTsN 1 Agam. To find out whether there was a significant effect of using Powtoon toward students' motivation in writing, the hypothesis was formulated. This quantitative research was classified into experimental research. The sampling technique used in this research was cluster random sampling. Two groups were selected as the sample of the research that was separated into experimental group and control group. There were 37 students as the respondents in the experimental group and 34 students as the respondents in the control group. The experimental class was taught by using Powtoon as media in teaching and the control group was taught only by using an English book. The result of paired sample t-test showed that the obtained (4,722) was higher than ttable (2,028) for the degree of freedom 36 with the level significant 0,025. The null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It means there is a significant effect of using Powtoon toward students' motivation in writing at the eighth grade of MTsN 1 Agam. The researcher proved that the Powtoon as a media was able to increase students' motivation in writing.

Anemia is one of the public health problems that need more attention of the female because they experience menstruation and they are in the growth phase. From the data of Semarang City Health Office  in 2011, it is shown the incidence of anemia in adolescents aged 10-19 years old are 68.24%. The prevention effort of the case is by measuring hemoglobin and prescribing blood supplement. The objective of the study is to find out the effect of Fe tablets on Hemoglobin in Semarang Merchant Marine Polytechnique students. The objective of the study is to find out the effect of Fe tablets on Hemoglobin in Semarang Merchant Marine Polytechnique students. This research used pre-experimental design with the two group pretest posttest. The population in this Study were all Merchant Marine Polytechnique Semarang at the 4th semester of female students  amounting to 50 with the total respondents 34 respondents taken with purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by performing Hemoglobin examination. The results of the study show that the average Hemoglobin before being prescribed Fe on the intervention and control group was 11.29 g/dl. After being prescribed Fe to the intervention group, it is found the average increased to 13.69 g/dl, while in the control group it is found averaged 11.72 g/dl. Bivariate Analysis uses an independent t test, the value of t is 6.136 with a p-value of   0.000. It shows that the p-value is 0,000 <((0.05), this indicates that there is a significant difference in the decrease in Hemoglobin levels in the population after being prescribed blood supplement between the intervention and control groups in The Semarang Merchant Marine Politechnique Students. It is suggested that the female adolescents to consume more iron-containing foods or consume Fe supplements such as Fe, during menstruation. ABSTRAK  Anemia merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang perlu khusus nya pada remaja  putri yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian khusus karena remaja putri mengalami mestruasi tiap bulan dan dalam masa pertumbuhan . Hasil Data Dinas Kesehatan Kota Semarang tahun 2011.  Kejadian anemia pada remaja usia 10-19 sebanyak 68,24%. Untuk menangani masalah tersebut pencegahan yang dilakukan yaitu dengan cara mengukur hemoglobin dan pemberian suplemen tablet tambah darah . Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan  pre-eksperimen design dengan rancangan Two group pretest posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian iniadalah seluruh taruni politeknik ilmu pelayaran semarang semester 4 berjumlah 50 taruni dengan jumlah sempel 34 responden dengan tehnik pengambilan sempel purposive sampling. Pengambilan data dengan melakukan pemeriksaan Hemoglobin.  Penelitian menunjukan bahwa rata-rata Hemoglobin sebelum diberikan pada taruni kelompok intervensi  dan  kontrol sama yaitu  11,29 g/dl.  Dan setelah diberikan pada kelompok intervensi  rata-rata meningkat menjadi 13,69 g/dl, sedangkan  kelompok kontrol rata-rata sebesar 11,72 g/dl. Analisis bivariate Menggunakan uji t independen, didapatkan nilai t hitung 6,136 dengan p-value sebesar 0,000. Terlihat bahwa p-value 0,000 <a (0,05), ini menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan secara signifikan penurunan (selisih) kadar Hemoglobin b pada taruni sesudah diberikan tablet penambah darah antara kelompok intervensi dan kontrol pada taruni Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang.  Hendaknya bagi remaja putri lebih banyak mengomsumsi makanan yang mengandung zat besi atau mengomsumsi suplemen yang mengandung besi seperti Fe terutama saat mestruasi

This research aims at proving that the use of using Skimming and Scanning techniques are effective in improving reading comprehension of grade-eleven students of SMA Negeri 1 Tana Toraja. The method used in this research was true-experimental design random assignment pretest-posttest control group. The samples of this research were selected from the population of grade-eleven students of SMA Negeri 1 Tana Toraja by using random sampling technique. The instruments of data collection were observation checklist, questionnaire items and tests. The data were analyzed by using t-test statistical and descriptive methods. Based on the analysis, the result score of experimental class is 80.27 and control class is 67.02. By applying level of significance 0.05 and degree of freedom (df) 48, the t-counted value (4.3) is greater than t-table value (2013). Furthermore, based on the result of effectiveness indicators showed the score is 83% it means that the techniques are effective. In other words, applying skimming and scanning techniques are effective in improving students reading comprehension of the grade eleven students of SMA Negeri 1 Tana Toraja. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) terdapat perbedaan efektivitas dalam penggunaan  media pembelajaran dengan berbasis video dan tidak menggunakan media pada pembelajaran konvensional terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian Control Group Pretest- Posttest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMPN 20 Batam kelas VIII tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Sampel penelitian kelas eksperimen VIII.4 dan sampel kelas kontrol VIII.2. Analisis data menggunakan rumus uji t dua sampel. Sebelum data dianalisis, data terlebih dahulu diuji prasyarat analisis yaitu uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Kemudian dilakukan uji hipotesis berdasarkan data tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) terdapat efektivitas antara pembelajaran dengan media pembelajaran berbasis video dengan pembelajaran konvensional yang ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Kata Kunci : media video pembelajaran, metode konvensional, pemahaman konsep matematis Abstract:This research aims to know: (1) whether there are effectiveness and the difference between using video based learning media and not using media with conventional learning reviewed from student mathematical concepts understanding. The kinds of this research is Quasi Experiments research with Control Group Pretest Posttest research design. The population of this research are all student at SMPN 20 Batam in class VIII academic years 2016/2017. Taking sampling was done by Cluster Random Sampling technique. The research sample of experiment class is VIII.4 and sample of control class is VIII.2. The data was analyzed with using t test two sampling. Before the data was analyzed, the data was first tested on the pre requisite of analysis, there are normality test and homogeneity test. Then, conducted hypothesis test based on the data. The result of this research showed that: (1) there was the difference between video based learning media with conventional learning toward student mathematical concepts understanding. Key Words : VBL, conventional methods, mathematical concepts understanding.

The ability of students to understand the concept of learning varies, it is very necessary to know the level of understanding of students' concepts in learning mathematics, so that it becomes a rationale in determining the appropriate learning approach. This study aims to determine the effect learning approach of the ELPSA eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Makassar. The type of research used is experimental research. The design of this research is the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Makassar in the 2019/2020 academic year and the research sample was determined by the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The instrument in this study was an essay test on understanding mathematical concepts. The data analysis used was descriptive and inferential. The descriptive research results show that there is an increase in understanding of the mathematical concept after the application of the ELPSA learning approach; the score of concept understanding after the application of the ELPSA learning approach met the completeness criteria, namely more than 80; and completeness of students' conceptual understanding after being applied classical ELPSA learning approach is 97% complete. The inferential hypothesis testing results show that the application of the ELPSA learning approach affects the understanding of mathematical concepts in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Makassar.

The research aimed to find out the effectiveness of describing and drawing picture technique in teaching transactional speaking at the second semester students of English Education Department at State Islamic University of Alauddin Makassar. This research employed quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design with pre-test and post-test. The population of this research was the second semester students of English education department at State Islamic University of Alauddin Makassar. The population was selected by using purposive sampling technique to determine the sample for experimental class and control class. The instrument used in this research was test. The test was used in the pre-test and post-test. The data indicated that there was a significant difference between the students’ post-test in the experimental class and post-test in the control class. Based on the findings of the research, the researchers concluded that describing and drawing picture technique was effective in teaching transactional speaking. Efforts to improve caregiver’s knowledge on hallucination is by providing an education the caregivers. Enhancing such knowledge can be carried out by different methods, include lecture and watching video methods. The purpose of the present research was to compare the effectiveness of lecture  and watching video method in enhancing caregiver’s knowledge on hallucination.          The research used a quasi-experiment method with a pretest and posttest group design, with the research sample was 60. The sampling technique used was a total sampling. The scores of caregiver’s knowledge were determined by a questionnaire of knowledge on hallucination that was self-developed by validity test (0.707) and reliability test (0.968). The data obtained was then tested by using Independent Sample T-test, Mann-Whitney test, and Wilcoxon test.          The result of pretest of caregiver’s knowledge before the intervention showed that there was no difference between intervention and control group (p-value=0.624), while result of posttest of caregiver’s knowledge after the intervention showed that there was a significant difference between lecture group and video group (p-value=0.000). The research findings revealed that there was a significant increase in the scores of knowledge for both methods (p-value=0.000), but the increase of video group’s knowledge score was higher (4.23) than that of lecture group (2.57).          The conclusion of the research was that wathing video method was more effective than lecture method in enhancing caregiver’s knowledge so that video can be used as an alternative method for mental health education.

Purpose: To determine the levels of Vitamin D in children with myopia and to compare them with age matched controls. Study Design:  Case control study. Place and Duration of Study:  The study was conducted in Naseer Memorial Hospital, Dadhyal Azad Kashmir from March 2016 to March 2017. Material and Methods:  Two hundred patients were selected using convenient sampling technique and were divided two groups (group I Myopic and group II control). Myopia was labeled if after subjective refraction a Spherical Equivalent (SE) of −0.50 diopters (D) or more was found. Vitamin D levels were measured by radioimmunoassay technique with Diasorin SR® kit following the user’s manual. Vitamin D levels less than 20 ng/ml were considered Vitamin D deficient following the standards of American academy of pediatrics. The collected data was entered in the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 21 for analysis. Independent t–test was used to determine the significant difference of means between controls and patients. P-values less than 0.05 were considered significant. Results:  Mean age of controls and myopes were 10.65 ± 3.9 and 10.20 ± 2.5 years respectively. Vitamin D levels in myopic children were found to be 14.95 ± 3.75 ng/ml and there was no significant difference in mean values of Vitamin D levels in myopic and control group. Conclusion:  We found no difference in Vitamin D levels of myopic and non myopic children and concluded that Vitamin D has no role in development or progression of myopia.
