Research on values is important both for the development of sociology and for. practices of social management, they provide the necessary basis for effective public policy. The purpose of this article was to analyze the current agenda for the study of values by building theoretical and methodological thematic clusters. An optional task was to describe the thematic thesaurus used by the authors of the articles on values. The hypothesis was tested that the theory of social status in relation to economic topics received the greatest recognition in the current agenda. The study was carried out in a quantitative design, the method of content analysis was used, followed by the calculation of the c-correlation coefficient between the three semantic components of the study: topic, theory, methodology. The empirical material was the abstracts of 132 articles published in 21 sociological journals, included in the 1 quartile of Scopus in 2016–2020. Articles were selected according to the author’s search method. The limitations of the study are the 5-year time period, the language of the article (English), the use of only abstract texts for analysis, and not the articles themselves, the author’s method of building clusters (it is possible to build clusters on other grounds).Results. The main hypothesis was confirmed. The strongest connection was recorded between the theory of social status and economic topics (c-correlation coefficient — 0.62). The smallest connection was found between family values and theories about values as ideal representations (0.21). At the same time, the coefficient of connection between theories and research topics is, on average, lower than that of methodologies and topics. Qualitative methodology is mentioned by authors of articles on values a little more often than quantitative one. (114 qualitative versus 103 quantitative). In the thematic thesaurus, the greatest diversity is recorded in the research area “Labor and Economics”, the least — in the areas “Family” and “Education”. Despite the fact that the group of articles dealing with values in the sphere of politics is the second largest in the sample with 87 articles (66%), only 15 frequently used terms were included in its thematic thesaurus. In the area of “Labor and Economics”, 65 significant terms were identified; in total, materials of 111 articles (84%) were attributed to this area. The directions of further research are related to the study of the isomorphism of the agenda for the study of values in international and Russian sociology, as well as the analysis of substantive discrepancies in the study of values in the same sphere of life between Russian and foreign sociologists.

Background: Epigenetic modifications appear to be dynamic and they might be affected by environmental factors. The possibility of influencing these processes through psychotherapy has been suggested. Objective: To analyse the impact of psychotherapy on epigenetics when applied to mental disorders. The main hypothesis is that psychological treatments will produce epigenetic modifications related to the improvement of treated symptoms. Methods: A computerised and systematic search was completed throughout the time period from 1990 to 2019 on the PubMed, ScienceDirect and Scopus databases. Results: In total, 11 studies were selected. The studies were evaluated for the theoretical framework, genes involved, type of psychotherapy and clinical challenges and perspectives. All studies showed detectable changes at the epigenetic level, like DNA methylation changes, associated with symptom improvement after psychotherapy. Conclusion: Methylation profiles could be moderating treatment effects of psychotherapy. Beyond the detected epigenetic changes after psychotherapy, the epigenetic status before the implementation could act as an effective predictor of response.

Abstract Background In the context of the COVID-19 emergency, the concern has been raised that people may compensate the reduction in risk ensured by mask use with an increase in risk induced by lower adherence to physical distancing rules. Purpose The paper investigates if people compensate risk in this manner when their interaction partner wears a face mask, examining if risk compensation further depends on gender, signaled social status and perceived race. Methods An experiment was conducted in two waves (June, n = 1396 and September 2020, n = 1326) in front of the traffic lights of four busy roads in Paris. A confederate asked a randomly selected pedestrian for directions following a script and keeping the recommended distance. Confederates were locally recognizable as Blacks or Whites and alternatively presented themselves with a costume indicative of high or low social status. An observer recorded whether the pedestrian kept the recommended distance. Results Both in June and September, men are less likely to comply with the distancing rule when the confederate wears the face mask, and particularly so when the confederate signals high status. When the confederate wears the mask, female pedestrians observe less the one-meter rule in September than in June. Conclusions Men’s risk compensatory behavior is constant over time. In contrast, women’s depends on the time period.

This study aims to determine the relationship between the role of farmer groups and the social status of lowland rice farmers in Cialam Jaya Village, Konda Sub District, South Konawe District. This research was conducted in Cialam Jaya Village in September-December 2019. The determination of the research area was carried out purposively with the consideration that Cialam Jaya Village is one of the centres for lowland rice production and has farmer groups. Simple random sampling (simple random sampling) takes 10% or as many as 26 respondents of rice farmers. The data analysis used was the Spearman Rank Correlation analysis. The results showed that the role of the group was significantly related to the socioeconomic status of lowland rice farmers, with a significance value of 0.019.

The subject of the present research is the study of the relationship between earnings management (accrual-based and real) and auditor’s opinion. Alongside putting the control variables into consideration, this this paper studies the relationship between earnings management (accrual-based and real) and auditors’ opinion. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of income smoothing and manipulation on the opinion of independent auditors. This research includes two independent variables i.e. earnings management (based on discretionary accruals) and real earnings management, one dependent variable i.e. auditor’s opinion, along with control variables. In the first main hypothesis the relation between real earnings management and auditor’s opinion is examined; and the second hypothesis involves the association between discretionary accrual-based earnings management and auditor’s opinion. In this research some 117 firms in the time period 2008-2013 are empirically investigated and studied using logistic regression method. In conclusion, the second and third hypotheses are rejected; however examination of the first and fourth hypotheses confirms their significant association with auditor’s opinion.

Television industrial organization is probably more complex than in other media industries. Reasons behind include that it is newer than others, it is highly regulated and because many changes have taken place in a short time period. In particular, public service television deserves an in-depth study. This is the starting point of this piece of research, which is applied to children as an audience of a growing complex and competitive market. In doing so, this study focuses on public service broadcasters of three European countries: the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain. A correlation analysis of these three cases will be made and the main hypothesis is that the content of all three channels and their audience profiles is quite similar. It will be implemented by Research Group on Digital Information and Communication (GICID, University of Zaragoza) and Research and Learning of Media and Communications Management (MediaCom, Complutense University of Madrid).

The article considers the current trends in the development of the food industry and the direction of food technology, which are based on the integration of digital technologies within the entire food chain: from farms and food production to packaging, storage, preparation and disposal of food. The purpose of this scientific paper is to study global trends, the growth rate of investments in this area and the prospects for the future. The author considers in more detail the Russian market for the delivery of ready-made rations, which is now gaining more and more popularity. The main drivers of the market are: new family values, health and nutrition standards, information technologies and the birth of new types of consumers. Only two serious competitors are currently represented in the Russian market: GrowFood and Performance Group, each with a market share of about 40 %. In the near future, a complete monopolization of the Russian market is possible, and this, of course, is a negative factor for consumers. The research area is in the early stages of the life cycle, and requires more attention and protection from institutional authorities.

A novel corona virus, COVID-19 is spreading across different countries in an alarming proportion and it has become a major threat to the existence of human community. With more than eight lakh death count within a very short span of seven months, this deadly virus has affected more than 24 million people across 213 countries and territories around the world. Time-series analysis, modeling and forecasting is an important research area that explores the hidden insights from larger set of time-bound data for arriving better decisions. In this work, data analysis on COVID-19 dataset is performed by comparing the top six populated countries in the world. The data used for the evaluation is taken for a time period from 22nd January 2020 to 23rd August 2020.A novel time-series forecasting approach based on Auto-regressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model is also proposed. The results will help the researchers from medical and scientific community to gauge the trend of the disease spread and improvise containment strategies accordingly.

We consider the influence of wave-current interactions (WCI) on the tidal energy resource through changes in the velocity field of tidal currents. In order to investigate this, we have run three models: SWAN (stand-alone), ROMS (stand-alone) and COAWST (two-way coupled ROMS and SWAN model). The research area of our studies is Alderney Race, France, an area with strong currents, which has a strong potential for tidal turbine deployment. The time period used for the simulations was March 2008, when a strong storm hit the Alderney Race area and produced significant wave heights (Hs) of up to 7 m and a Stokes drift near the surface close to 0.3 m/s. Furthermore, in order to see the extent of the influence of large waves on current parameters, two virtual storms with larger waves have been generated by magnifying the wave energy spectrum and changing the frequency of the spectrum of the real storm in March 2008. The 3D and the barotropic velocity field were analysed in order to see if the WCI in the waters of Alderney Race during storm conditions can cause a significant increase or decrease of the current speed and through which mechanisms. This study also investigates the Turbulent Kinetic Energy (TKE) in order to portray the turbulent conditions in the area of interest which are important for resource characterisation and device design.
