This paper develops a comprehensive framework for choosing teaching methods in accounting courses. Since teaching methods vary as to the conditions they can create and different types of learning objectives require different conditions for achievement, the premise guiding the framework is that the choice of teaching methods should be based primarily on the type of learning objective. The development of the framework yields two important conclusions. First, a single teaching method typically cannot create all the conditions necessary for a given learning objective. Second, learning objectives involving complex skills require teaching methods that promote active learning on the part of students, while learning objectives involving simpler skills can be achieved with more passive teaching methods. In practical terms, an accounting instructor needs to carefully employ multiple teaching methods to achieve all the learning objectives of a given accounting course, since these objectives likely encompass the full range of types of objectives.

This study aims to identify the design and historical Tafsir studies at Dayah in Indonesia and in Aceh and analyzing the teaching method used and to know the extent influence of the methods practiced at integrated Dayah Al-Muslimun in North Aceh. A qualitative study was employed to collect the data from the respondents. A semi structure interview was conducted from four subjects’ teachers to explore the influence of the teaching method at Dayah Al-Muslimun Aceh. The result of study showed that the history of Tafsir studies at Dayah in Indonesia cannot be separated from the history of early spreading Islam in the Malay Archipelago. Moreover, the majority of Tafsir’s teachers at integrated Dayah Al-Muslimun used translation method and telling story in their teaching method. In term of interpretation of verse the majority of teachers used “tahlili methods” (problem solving). The impact of learning Tafsir was reviewed from three aspects, namely understanding, practice, and the result of examination. Moreover, this study emphasized that the teaching methods used for teaching Tafsir are good and have a good influence on students, this proven from the good aspect of understanding, the appropriate practice and the result of examination, however it still need to be evaluated and improved.

UNSTRUCTURED Hematological medicine is a practical discipline that difficult to study. The cultivation for postgraduate majored in hematology is rather hard. Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered innovating teaching method that students define their own learning objectives from clinically based problem. It has been widely accepted in student-centered medical education. Owing to the geographic and time dispersion of the students, traditional PBL has its own limitations. WeChat, the most popular platform among university students in China, was introduced in hematology teaching. In this study, we combine traditional PBL and WeChat together to explore a new WeChat Problem-Based learning mode for postgraduate majored in hematology. 100 questionnaires were distributed to evaluate how the students and tutors think about the WeChat-PBL teaching mode. The data showed that the WeChat-PBL teaching mode was popular and widely accepted. Our new PBL mode is time saving, convenience and easy to conduct. It emphasizes interoperable, interactive, effective and more participatory. We firmly believe that using this new WeChat-PBL teaching model will certainly help students be more excellent.

In architectural designs teaching process, to enable the students to think in complete accord with the users thinking logic, under the premise of the effect of a comfortable usage, teaching process needs to return to the user's needs as the main purpose. By studying the psychological needs of the user, the sense of comfort of building space in people's daily life can be explored, and by integrating this approach into the teaching of architectural design , different types of spaces can be divided from the perspective of human behavior patterns,. After the investigation and analysis in different types of space which people have different psychological needs, and the method for determining the sense of comfort, we can make analogies and inferences with examples, propose comfort and design guidelines under specific behavioral environment, so as to achieve the humanization of space and provide a more effective teaching method of authentication in the teaching of design.

Abstract Background Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) emerged in China in December 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic hindered dental education, as school buildings were closed. Online dental teaching provided an alternative teaching tool for dental education. However, the efficiency of online dental teaching and student preferences for online dental teaching are unclear. Aim To investigate the satisfaction with online dental teaching practices among undergraduate dental students and standardized resident physician training students during the COVID-19 pandemic in China. Methods A total of 104 undergraduate dental students and 57 standardized resident physician training students from Zhejiang University participated in the study. A 12-item survey was conducted. This investigation included the teaching methods received, frequency of classes, degree of satisfaction, preferred teaching method, whether to participate in a course regarding COVID-19 prevention, and the effects of teaching. The percentages were then calculated and evaluated for each item. Results A total of 161 students (104 undergraduate dental students and 57 standardized resident physician training students) participated in this survey. All students had online dental classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lecture-based learning (LBL), case-based learning (CBL), problem-based learning (PBL), team-based learning (TBL), and research-based learning (RBL) were selected as teaching methods. Students were more satisfied with LBL and CBL than PBL, RBL, and TBL. The majority of students had more than four classes per week. The most selected protective measures were hand washing, wearing masks, and wearing gloves. A total of 46.6% of students participated in courses on COVID-19. After training, the students consciously chose to wear face shields and protective clothing. Conclusions Dental students accepted online dental learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students preferred LBL and CBL and were satisfied with the classes. Courses on COVID-19 helped students understand how to prevent COVID-19 transmission in the dental clinic.

Abstract Objective: To determine perception of medical students about learning from integrated simulated clinical skills sessions in Respiration and Circulation module of Year 1 undergraduate medical curriculum at Aga Khan University. Subjects & Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Centre for Innovation in Medical Education, Aga Khan University (AKU) from July 2018 to February 2019. Integrated clinical skills session involves use of a combination of live simulated patient and mechanical simulator to teach clinical skills.  These sessions were conducted in Respiration and Circulation Module of MBBS Year I curriculum after which quantitative data was collected by a questionnaire that assessed usefulness of integrated clinical skills teaching method and confidence gained by students. The responses acquired were assessed on a Likert scale ranging from 1-5, (strongly agree -strongly disagree).  Descriptive analysis was performed. A focused group discussion (FGD) with students and an in-depth interview with a facilitator conducting the clinical skills sessions was arranged. Simple verbatim transcription of FGD recordings and thematic analyses was executed. Results: Quantitative analysis showed that more than 90% of the students believed integrated sessions were effective in acquiring the learning objectives and found them enjoyable and motivating. 80% expressed confidence that they had accomplished learning objectives and felt they have learned practical clinical skills. Qualitative analysis revealed that these sessions enhanced understanding of subject matter and student engagement during sessions. Conclusion: Integrated clinical skills sessions improved student interest, engagement and promoted student confidence. It should be implemented in undergraduate medical teaching curriculum. Arguably, data analytics is the “hot topic” for both accounting programs and Colleges of Business. Firms and advisory boards are requesting increased incorporation of data analytics into accounting programs. Furthermore, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International Standard A5 requires accounting programs to focus on agility and adaptability when incorporating data analytics into the accounting program. In this paper, we propose a framework for balancing industry needs and Standard A5 that incorporates accounting-specific data analytics and satisfies existing course learning objectives. This framework was developed through the creation of a stand-alone Data Analytics in Accounting course. Our framework emphasizes students moving from more structured manual calculations to less structured analysis using Excel, and then to more unstructured analysis using specialized accounting-specific data analytics software. Additionally, we provide specific examples of how this framework can be applied to multiple accounting courses.
