Pesantren is basically a traditional Islamic education where the students lived with and studied under the guidance of one (or more) teachers are better known as kyai. Although pesantren was considered traditional, but still exist and survive in modern age and global era. Obviously because this institution has its own characteristics and maintain institutional elements that have formed since former. The characteristics of education in pesantren classified to two: (1) the general pattern of education, which are pesantren institutions introducing levels, from that teach simple texts until sublime pesantren that teach high level texts. (2) Teaching systems are the sorogan system and bandongan system. As for the institutional elements in pesantren are cottage, mosques, students, kyai, classical islamic books

Abstract The present paper is concerned with the lecture hall as the natural home of lecturing. We will focus on constructed, designed and equipped space as a material and communicative manifestation of science which fundamentally contributes to the multimodal practice of lecturing. Taking an interactionist point of view, we start off with introducing our concept of architecture-for-interaction which aims at spatial built-in features as a resource for social interaction, namely for situational anchoring among those present. In a second step, we identify key architectural elements of the lecture hall as material sediments of communicative problems connected with the social practice of lecturing. In doing so, we will also give a high-level overview of the historical development of the lecture hall (and its precursors) since the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Age. Turning to current data from lecturing in times of the pandemic, we will then deal with so called „ghost lectures“ behind closed doors. This current development brings out a refiguration process due to which the lecture hall undergoes a change from the classical auditorium with copresent participants to a multi-media hub allowing for tele-present participants.

A globalization, which looks like both sides of one coin, has both positive and negative impacts. The globalization inspired not only by capitalism but also by pragmatism has practically affected the education in Indonesia. The roles of education become practically unfamiliar and faraway from society needs. The globalization takes some issues such as competence, standardization, and commerce. To face this era, what should Islamic education do as sub-system of national education? The Islamic school (madrasah) as a sub-system of Islamic education in Indonesia, had extremely strong experienced to face the challenges at the last era of Dutch colonialism. The fact that madrasah had not only an autonomy but also an intellectual resources had proven that it could fulfill the needs of Islamic community. These are cultural potencies which should be kept and not be abandoned for the sake of globalization interest. The globalization as a cultural transformation process affects the world, especially the practice of education in Indonesia. All people using science and technology can easily access the global culture. The global culture which is value-free should be faced by transformation of values of which Islamic scholars had transformed in pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) and Islamic schools (madrasah). In other word, both pesantren and madrasah should not be entrapped in capitalism ideology and could serve all people. It is because the paradigm of Islamic education differs from that of both capitalism and pragmatism. The article tries to elaborate how Islamic education in Indonesia especially madrasah should be positioned in the global era

The study aims to identify the development of the Islah and Tajdid movements in Malaya and the impact on Islamic education for women starting at the madrasah level to the high level in the late 20th century. This study discusses the movement of Islah and Tajdid which appeared at the beginning of the 20th century in Malaya and analyzed the influence of thinking on Islamic women's education. This study was conducted using a qualitative study, where all data information from primary and secondary sources was scrutinized and analyzed by taking an inductive approach. The study found that the characters involved in this movement in Malaya since the very beginning of their return from their studies in Egypt have supported the thought of Sheikh Muhammad Abduh and Sheikh Rasyid Ridha in the case of women's education. They wrote and worked on publications through newspapers and magazines that voiced the importance of Muslim women to be given freedom of education to engage in society. In order to realize these thoughts and awareness, they also set up special madrasah for female students in Penang, Melaka and Singapore. The influence of their thinking has led to the awareness of the Malay community with the establishment of madrasah in the states of Kelantan, Kedah, Perlis, and Johor and opened the widest opportunities for female students to receive education. Until the Independence era of Malaya, these madrasah have expanded to whole land of Malay as the efforts and awareness of group of religionist that support the thinking of Islah and Tajdid. In 1952 Malaya Islamic College was established and followed by Yayasan Pengajian Tinggi Islam Kelantan (YPTIK) in 1956 as a result of this group's efforts. Women's students also have the opportunity to pursue higher levels of education until there is an Islamic women's education network between Malaysia, Indonesia and Egypt. At the end of the 20th century, Muslim women had succeeded in occupying various career fields, especially in Islamic education as teachers in schools, as a lecturer at higher learning centers that offering various fields of Islamic studies and as civil servants in government departments.

In the first broad survey of skeletal crystallography in fossil crinoids, we examine 10 Ordovician species representing five orders and apply crystallographic data to questions of crinoid phylogeny, homology, and development. Orientations ofccrystallographic axes in the large calcite crystals that form the skeletal plates of the crinoid calyx vary systematically according to the position of each plate on the calyx. Plates lower on the calyx have axes more inclined toward the stem attachment than are axes from plates higher on the calyx. Although most specimens display this general pattern, exact orientations vary widely between species with no discernible relationship to phylogeny. Furthermore, the topological pattern of variation does not correlate with the order of addition of plates to the calyx during growth.Lack of a phylogenetic signal among diverse crinoids early in the clade's history implies that crystallographic data will be of limited use to high-level phylogenetic studies within crinoids. Neither does skeletal crystallography strongly favor any of several competing interpretations of homologies among major crinoid calyx plates. Crystallographic data are informative, however, for some minor skeletal plates. Brachial plates havecaxes that roughly parallel the surface of the plate, whereas interbrachial plates have perpendicularcaxes, suggesting that distinct generative processes produce these plates. Anal plates have orientations similar to interbrachials, suggesting similar developmental mechanisms.Althoughcaxes have regular orientations relative to plate morphology within a specimen, aaxes show extensive intraspecimen variability with respect to plate morphology.

Intense Precipitation Event Provoked by the Wave Disturbance of Trade Winds Over the Alagoas State A B S T R A C TThe main objective of this study was to analyze the Wave Disturbance of Trade Winds (WDTW) dynamics that provoked strong rainfall over the Alagoas state on May 27 of 2017. The analysis and systems forecasting of this magnitude arouses interest due to the adverse phenomena caused and consequences to the population. Global ERA Interim reanalysis data was provided by the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) with spatial resolution of 0.75º latitude x 0.75º longitude. This dataset was used in conjunction with OpenGrADS software to the meteorological fields plot for synoptic analysis. Precipitation dataset were collected from 25 meteorological stations spread across the Alagoas state provided by the State Secretary for the Environment and Water Resources (SEMARH). The disturbance developed after a frontal system passage that reached BNE a few days earlier. The synoptic system could be observed in the pressure at sea level field and through the streamlines at low levels (925 and 850hPa) between 26 and 27 of May, where the Trough axis was concentrated over Alagoas. The strong convection was also driven by a high-level Trough, lasted from 30ºS. The vertical integrated moisture flow fields indicated very high values from the Atlantic Ocean, reaching Alagoas between 25th and 27 of May. Through the analysis of climatological data, in May 2017 was registered the third highest peak of rainfall (692 mm/24h), where only on the 27th 173 mm/24h was recorded, which corresponded to the fence 25% of the historical average. Keywords: WDTW; Adverse Phenomena, Alagoas.

This paper seeks to uncover the urgency of the Islamization of science according to the thoughts of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas, as someone who wants to transmit Western product science with an Islamic element. From these arguments, the authors apply the science of hermeneutics of the Koran as the process of Islamization of hermeneutics, which so far has been considered an un-Islamic science and is even called infidels, which gets some consideration but through several steps offered by Naquib namely: alienating the elements including key concepts that shape the culture and civilization, fill them with key elements and concepts of Islam, inclusion or transfer with Islamic science and principles and finally, formulate and integrate elements The main Islam and key concepts so as to produce a content that embraces core science and then placed in Islamic education from elementary to high level.
