The rate of unemployment in Nigeria is increasing everyday with almost two million young graduates entering into the labour markets every year. This is indeed very worrisome! This paper discussed the issues of unemployment among graduates and the need to create an enabling environment for new start-ups. The study used a descriptive research design of survey type in assessing the impacts of entrepreneurship skills on Nigerian engineering students. Sample size consisted of 132 lecturers selected from (public and private) universities and a polytechnic in Ado Ekiti, Nigeria. Questionnaire on Impact of Entrepreneurial Skills on Engineering Students (QIESES) was used to collect data. Test-retest method was used to determine reliability of the instrument, a coefficient of 0.81 was obtained. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics such as frequency count, mean, standard deviation (SD) and T-test. The study revealed that public and private institution lecturers’ perception has significant effect on the challenges facing the implementation of entrepreneurial education in Nigerian tertiary institutions. It was therefore recommended that tertiary institutions should fulfill its roles as a major catalyst for technological advancement and economic growth. There is need to bring in to teaching, lecturers that are entrepreneurial inclined to develop study programs that enable students’ creativity, initiative thinking and enhances original leadership thinking.

The quality of a study program is assessed from the results of accreditation. Accreditation is also one of the requirements in applying for a job in a public or private institution. The hope is that the results of university accreditation will be satisfactory when students graduate from the college. With the Friedman test statistic, it can be seen the effect of the study program accreditation in the Faculty of Science and Technology on the learning intensity and future expectations in this study. It turned out that descriptively, the A study program's accreditation motivated students to study diligently and students really hoped to get a job or reputable college for further studies. In contrast, the students from study programs are accredited B, and C have medium and low learning intensity. Their hopes of getting a good job or place of further study are almost ordinary or almost nonexistent.

In view of deteriorating quality of graduates from Nigerian tertiary institutions, this study sought to determine employers’ assessment of management science graduates on key employability skills. The study involves the administration of questionnaires by means of convenience sampling on 680 employers of management science graduates in public and private sectors in Edo/Delta States. T-test and ANOVA were used to analyse data. Notwithstanding the age difference, the result obtained shows that employers rated the graduates of management sciences as slightly ‘fair’. Notably, employers in the private sector rated management graduates higher and more positively than their counterparts in the public sector. Additionally, the employers in the present study described management science graduates as reliable, employable and hardworking. It was recommended that the quality of management science graduates can be improved by placing emphasis on increased funding, infrastructural development, and educator-employer based curriculum which focuses on practical skills, as well as the reactivation of industrial attachment in the Nigerian universities. On the side of the employers, investment in the orientation and training of new entrants into work organization should not be neglected.

To assess dry eye symptoms (DES) and quality of sleep in engineering students during the Covid19 pandemic lockdown and also to assess the association between DES and sleep quality. A cross-sectional questionnaire-based study was carried out among 396 engineering students studying in Saveetha engineering college. The study tool used was a semi-structured google form questionnaire designed for assessing digital device usage, symptoms of dry eye disease and sleep pattern. Responses were analyzed using appropriate statistical tests. Overall 64.1% attained a score of more than 10, indicating the presence of DES. 70.2% of the study population used digital screens for more than 13 hours. A statistically significant association was found between increased screen time and presence of DES(p<0.05). 64.9% had a score of >18 indicating reduced sleep quality. About 77.1% of the students with DES had reduced sleep quality, and a significant association (p<0.01) was observed between the two. During the Covid19 pandemic lockdown, there appears to be rising prevalence of DES in student population, one of the reasons being increased screen time. The sleep quality was also found to be reduced, and a significant association was found between DES and sleep quality.
