The basis of research problem at SMPN 4 Sungai Penuh regarding facilities for literacy activities as well selection of learning models that are not appropriate and inadequate. Research conducted using quasi-experimental research methods with a type of randomized control design posttest group only design. Samples were taken from all grade IX students at SMPN 4 Sungai Penuh in 2019/2020 school year. Population samples were determined through random sampling techniques. Research measuring tools in the form of cognitive learning test results. Data analysis was performed by testing the hypothesis obtained by tcount tcritical. Analysis of data concluded that hypothesis was accepted. In other words, application of the literacy strategy assisted by guided discovery learning model has significant effect on learning outcomes in grade IX students of SMPN 4 Sungai Penuh.

The low level of students’ higher order thinking skills (HOTS) has been the main problem of education in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the difference of students’ HOTS taught by using POE and Guided Discovery learning models. This quasi-experimental research involved 34 students of X IPA 3 and 32 students of X IPA 4 at SSHS 1 of Sungai Ambawang as the sample. The data obtained by using test which was analyzed using Mann-Whitney U-test. The results showed that the students’ HOTS who were treated with POE were significantly higher than those who were taught using Guided Discovery learning. Therefore, it is suggested to implement POE to improve students’ HOTS.

Learning science is not only related to the acquisition of knowledge but also a process of discovery. Based on learning observations, it was known that the activities and cognitive learning outcomes of Science Education department students, Faculty of Education, Hasyim Asy’ari University Jombang still low. Alternative learning that can be done to improve the activities and cognitive learning outcomes of students was guided discovery learning. This research was Classroom Action Research (PTK) with two cycles were carried out in the second semester of the 2015/2016 academic year. The research instruments were students’ activities assessment sheet, cognitive learning outcomes assessment sheet, learning observation sheet, and questionnaire responses of students to the learning process. Qualitative data were analyzed descriptively and quantitative data were analyzed by comparing the percentage students’ activities and cognitive learning outcomes in the cycle I and the cycle II. The result of this research were the percentage of students’ activities increased from 61,30% to 71,68%. Average of cognitive learning outcomes has increased from 73.68 to 80.04 and the percentage of cognitive achievement increased from 68.18% to 81.81%. The conclusion of this research was the guided discovery learning can improve the students’ activities and cognitive learning outcomes.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the use of computer assisted media in discovery learning models to learning outcomes of basic electrical and electronic training courses. The research subject is class X in the expertise of Audio Video (TAV) expertse. this type of research is a quasi-experimental. Students of class X TAV in SMK 1 Ranah Ampek Hulu are 29 school year 2018/2019 and here only take samples from the study as many as 25 students. The data of this study were taken by collecting scores four times through Pretest and Postest with an objective question of 15 items for a single meeting, the question also passed the different test questions, difficulty indexes, validity and reliability. From the four pretest and posttest meetings the results of the study can be seen using the normality test and hypothesis testing. From the results of the study there are average results of the pretest is 60.64 while the posttest is 82.88. The results of the t-test analysis obtained by tcount = 3.738 which is greater than t table = 1.711 at the 0.05 level of significance. Thus it can be concluded that the learning process using powerpoint media has an influence on the learning outcomes of class X TAV students of SMK 1 Ampek Hulu.Keywords: Computer Based Learning, Powerpoint, Discovery Learning (DL)

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan pada model discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Luwu pada materi pokok larutan penyangga. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest only control design. Sampel diperoleh secara acak dan terpilih kelas XI MIA 3 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dengan jumlah peserta didik 30 orang dan kelas XI MIA 2 sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah peserta didik 32 orang. Kelompok eksperimen dibelajarkan dengan pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan pada model discovery learning sedangkan kelompok kontrol dibelajarkan dengan model discovery learning tanpa pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan. Data hasil belajar dilakukan dengan pemberian tes hasil belajar. Hasil analisis statistik deskriptif menunjukkan nilai rata-rata posttest peserta didik kelompok eksperimen yaitu 81,33 dan nilai rata-rata posttest peserta didik kelompok kontrol yaitu 74,87. Hasil analisis statistik inferensial menunjukkan bahwa data terdistribusi normal dan homogen. Pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan dengan uji parametrik dengan menggunakan uji-t menghasilkan hasil belajar thitung > ttabel = 2,45 > 1,67 pada α= 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan pada model discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Luwu pada materi pokok larutan penyangga. Kata kunci: Pemberian kuis, Model discovery learning, Hasil belajar ABSTRACT This research is a Quasi-experimental that aims to know the effect of giving quizzes at the beginning of the meeting on the discovery learning model to the study result of the students of class XI MIA in SMA 10 Luwu on the subject matter of the buffer solution. The research design used was the posttest only control design. The sample is taken randomly so the XI MIA 3 is chosen as the experiment group with 30 students and XI MIA 2 as the control group with 32 students. The experiment group is taught by using quizzes at the beginning of the meeting in the discovery learning model meanwhile the control group is using the Discovery Learning Model without giving quizzes at the beginning of the meeting. Data result is collected by giving posttest. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis showed that the average study result of the experimental group student was 81.33 and the control group students was 74.87. The results of inferential statistical analysis show that the data is normally distributed and homogeneously. The hypothesis trial by using the parametric test t-test results thitung > ttabel = 2.45 > 1.67 in α = 0.05. So, it can be concluded that giving quizzes at the beginning of the meeting in the discovery learning model influencing the study result of class XI MIA students in SMA Negeri 10 Luwu on the subject matter of the buffer solution. Based on the theory, the success of students in learning is determined by learning model applied by the teacher and students’ independent learning skills. This research is a quasi experimental research with pretest and posttest design. The population of this research was students of class XI SMA N 3 Tebo in 2019/2020 academic year. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The research instruments used mathematical cognitive tests and student independent learning questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is two-way variance analysis with 3 × 3 factorial design. Based on the results of this researh, we can concluded that (1) There is a difference in the average of students’ mathematics cognitive skills based on the applied learning model, (2) There are differences in the average of students mathematics cognitive learning outcomes based on the level of independent learning, (3) there is no interaction between Discovery learning model and independent learning towards students’ mathematics cognitive skills.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan keefektifan pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah dan pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing ditinjau dari hasil belajar kognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VIII SMP. Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Yogyakarta tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdiri atas sembilan kelas. Sampel penelitianmenggunakan kelas VIII.8 dan VIII.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pembelajaran berbasis masalah efektif ditinjau dari hasil belajar kognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VIII SMP, (2) pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing efektif ditinjau dari hasil belajar kognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VIII SMP, dan (3) pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih efektif daripada pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing ditinjau dari hasil belajar kognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VIII SMP.Kata Kunci: pembelajaran berbasis masalah, pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing, hasil belajar kognitif, dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif The effectiveness of mathematics problem-based learning and guided discovery learning viewed from the cognitive learning achievement and creative thinking skill AbstractThis research aimed to describe the comparison of the effectiveness of mathematics problem-based learning and guided discovery learning in term of the cognitive learning achievement and creative thinking skill of grade VIII students of junior high school. This research was a quasi-experimental design. The research population included all of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2014/2015 which consisted of nine classes, The sample was classess VIII.8 and VIII.9 randomly selected. The result shows that: (1) mathematics problem-based learning was  effective in terms of the cognitive learning achievement and creative thinking skill of grade VIII students of junior high school, (2) mathematics guided discovery learning was effective  in terms of the cognitive learning achievement and creative thinking skill of grade VIII students of junior high school, and (3) mathematics problem-based learning was more effective than guided discovery learning in terms of the cognitive learning achievement and creative thinking skill of grade VIII students of junior high school.Keywords: problem-based learning, guided discovery learning, cognitive learning achievement and creative thinking skill

This study aims to develop learning tools oriented to scientific communication skills for students of SMK Pharmacy ISFI Banjarmasin using a guided discovery learning model on temperature and heat material. This research was carried out in detail; (1) the validity of the learning tools, (2) the practicality of the learning tools in terms of the implementation of the lesson plans, (3) the effectiveness of the learning tools in terms of students' cognitive learning outcomes, and (4) the achievement of students' scientific communication skills. This research is a development model that refers to the Dick and Carey development model, learning tools developed in the form of teaching materials, lesson plans, worksheets, and THB. The results showed; (1) the validity of the learning tools is categorized as valid, (2) the practicality of the learning tools is considered very good. (3) the effectiveness of learning tools is considered effective, and (4) the achievement of scientific communication skills is considered good. This study shows that the learning tools de-veloped are feasible to be used in the learning process.Keywords: learning tools, guided discovery, scientific communication.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi kemampuan berkomunikasi ilmiah pada siswa SMK Farmasi ISFI Banjarmasin menggunakan model pem-belajaran penemuan terbimbing pada materi suhu dan kalor. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan rincian; (1) validitas perangkat pembelajaran, (2) kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran yang ditinjau dari keterlaksaan RPP, (3) efektifitas perangkat pembelajaran yang ditinjau dari hasil belajar kognitif siswa, dan (4) pencapaian kemampuan berkomunikasi ilmiah siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan model pengembangan yang mengacu pada model pengembangan Dick and Carey, perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berupa materi ajar, RPP, LKS, dan THB. Hasil penelitian menunjukan; (1) validitas perangkat pembelajaran berkategori valid, (2) kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran dinilai terlaksana sangat baik, (3) efektifitas perangkat pembelajaran dinilai efektif, dan (4) pencapaian kemampuan berkomunikasi ilmiah dinilai baik. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.Kata kunci: perangkat pembelajaran, penemuan terbimbing, komunikasi ilmiah.

The aims of this study are to test: 1) the differences of the influences between MMP learning strategy and Guided Discovery learning strategy towards mathematics learning outcomes, 2) the differences of the influences between students’ initial ability level towards mathematics learning outcomes, and 3) the interaction between MMP learning strategy and students’ initial ability level towards mathematics learning outcomes. The Quasi-experimental research design used the population of all students from class XI of SMKN 3 Klaten. This research uses cluster sampling. Data were collected by documentation and tests. Technical analysis used anava, different two way cells, and then followed by Scheffe method. The results of this study showed: 1) the students’ learning outcomes by using MMP learning strategy are better than by guided discovery learning strategy, 2) the students’ learning outcomes of high initial ability level students is better than middle and low initial ability level students, and the students’ learning outcomes of middle initial ability level students is better than low initial ability level students, and 3) MMP learning strategy is more effective than guided discovery learning strategy towards middle initial ability level students. MMP learning strategy, the learning outcomes of high initial ability level students is better than middle and low initial ability level students, the learning outcomes of middle initial ability level students is better than low initial ability level students. Meanwhile, guided discovery learning strategy, the learning outcomes of high initial ability level students is better than middle and low initial ability level students. As for,  in guided discovery learning strategy, the learning outcomes between middle and low initial ability level students gets the same learning outcomes.

In the effort of improving the learning process, teachers must try to apply learning models that are appropriate to the character of the subjects so that the students are more active and learning becomes more meaningful. Based on data taken from the results of the daily tests of class VII J, as many as 67.65% of the students scored below the passing grade, and the average daily tests were 67.73. Factors causing the low learning outcomes are learning models that are still teacher-centered, so students are less active. Therefore we need an effort to improve the students’ activities and learning outcomes. This study aims to improve the students’ activities and learning outcomes in the Organizational System of Life through Guided Discovery Learning Model. The subjects of this study were the students of class VII J of SMPN 2 Demak, totaling 34 people, consisting of 10 men and 24 women. This research is a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. The research is said to be successful if the average daily test minimum reaches passing grade (80), classical completeness is at least 80%, and the percentage of student activity is at least 75%. The data collection techniques are using student test results, observation sheets of teacher and student activities. The results showed an average grade of 82.0 in the first cycle and 90.9 in the second cycle. Completeness of classical learning outcomes reached 82.34% in the first cycle and 94.12% in the second cycle.

The purpose of the research for to know the difference mathematical generalization ability of student are taught by use guided discovery learning and expository. The research was held at SMPN 21 Bekasi in second semester academic year 2016-2017. The sample  is class VII.2 and VII.5 (76 students). This research used quasi-experimental with statistic group comparison or post-test-only with nonequivalent groups design. Instrument be used is an essay test to measure mathematical reflective thinking ability. Before tested instrument analyzed by correlation product moment to test the validity, reliability by formula alpha cronbach and an index of the lurch. The data is analyzed firstly be done test regulation is test normality with Lilliefors and also test homogeneity by using Fisher. The result of normality test of class experiment and control can be conclude that both of the sample are from normal distribution. While the result of homogeneity test can be conclude the population of both have a homogeneity variance. The result of research were obtained t result is 5,29 with significance α is 0,05. The result of research showed a difference mathematical generalization ability of student through guided discovery learning and expository.
