These conditions resulted in nearly all processes of tourism development will affect people's lives, and conversely, any community activities will also affect tourism. In every aspect of tourism development needs to involve the community as part of the development impact and receiver. Levels of participation can be divided into three groups, namely mokoki (main actors), ngombyongi (supporting actor), and masabodoa (not involved). Spatially, greater area of space, community participation will be lower and the other hand, narrow region of space will increase community participation. Keywords: Participation, Tourism, Dieng

This chapter assesses the resurfacing of populism and its much-discussed and documented adoption and enactment by leaders and citizens. More specifically, it discusses reasons for this (re-)emergence and its effects on people's daily lives and their participation in community life against the wider political-economic background, two areas central to much community development theory and practice. The first question posed is: what is going on with and around people — especially their modalities of 'being' and 'relating' — rendering them more 'prone' to being influenced by populisms and become populisms' 'accomplices'? Second, what role does social media play in this imposition/complicity dialectic? Indeed, social media powerfully invades and interpenetrates all levels and processes of the political economy, of people's everyday experiences and their subjective-affective lives, and they infest the mediating institutions operating 'between' the virtual global and the imperceptible here and now. Finally, a third question is posed: what is the effect of such socially mediated populism on communities and on efforts to (re)develop and maintain them? The chapter concludes with some ideas about ways to resist the (combined) assault of populism and social media and restart the project of democracy.

This paper uncovers some dimensions of Singapore's mental health practices which, compared with western ones, indicate an alternative view on “community.” Singapore's culture is rich in community life based on larger systems of reference like language, religion, history, and tradition. This gives more salience to social dimensions often ignored or poorly taken into account by western specialists speaking about community approaches. The author puts forward the idea, through an analysis of interviews done with practitioners in the mental health field, that community redefined as it is in Singapore penetrates the institutions of mental health practice. Consequently, a community development model need not be limited to local and immediate community issues: It could also address more global community references systems, which create deep and lively cultural grounds for people's lives.

Although Turkish economy system was based on a patriarchal community for a long time, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of Modern Turkish Republic, has been promoted innovative policies for female citizens to incorporate them into social and economic life. Thanks to those policies, crucial changes have emerged especially for well-educated and cultivated ''urban women''. They both took care of their families and joined the economic system and raised their career expectations. In recent years, there are some entrepreneurship curriculums and financial support projects has been launched for women who would like to take an active role in business life. Those projects provide opportunity for Turkish women to create their own business instead of working as employees. First of all, literature review on ''community development'' and ''women entrepreneurship'' was conducted in this study. Those issues considered as not only an economic issue but also social and psychological behavioral processes usually by using macro-sociological analysis method. Secondly, an empirical research performed in Denizli province, in which considerable economic moves have been realized in recent years. Their capability development training in Malaysia takes place in an informal and unorthodox way through Community of Practice (CoP). Thematic analysis is used in this qualitative research, with the help of atlas ti vers ion seven for data analysis. The research could hardly reveal any existence of community resilience, though hundreds of them are staying together in many construction sites. Meaning, they are staying together but forming a 'Solitary Community' and leading a lower QoL. The outcome of this research will be useful for experts to further enhance migration, capability expansion, and community development philosophy to improve the migrant workers QoL.
