Abstract: Improving the quality of guidance and counseling services in the educational unit requires the support of other parties. Process guidance and supervision right, and carried out by competent and professional personnel are needed to support the quality of counseling services performed by teachers BK. BK control activities include activities supervisor, educator, and motivator. The pattern of structured supervision, honest, and based on the analysis of the problems the ministry guidance and counseling in schools, will be able to give a good contribution to the improvement, evaluation, and improvement of guidance and counseling services, as well as the professionalism of teachers BK as a service provider.Keyword: guidance, counseling, supervision, management

This study is concerned with the presence of BK teachers who have no educational background in guidance and counseling. They are appointed by the principal because they are deemed to be and come from educational and non-educational graduates with little teaching hours. This certainly has an impact on the quality of the implementation of guidance and counseling services in schools. This study aims: (1) to reveal and describe the implementation of guidance and counseling services by BK teachers; (2) differences in the implementation of guidance and counseling services classical format reviewed from the background SI BK and Non BK; (3) differences in the implementation of classical guidance counseling and counseling services in terms of working period of <16 years and ≥ 16 years; (4) the interaction of education background and working period of BK teacher in providing guidance and counseling service of classical format.This research uses quantitative method with comparative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study were all BK teachers with BK and Non BK BK Sijunjung who numbered 32 people. The instruments used are Likert model scale with 0.965 realib and 0.507 validity (implementation of classical counseling guidance and counseling service). Data were analyzed by using variance analysis technique (ANOVA).The result of data analysis shows: 1) the implementation of guidance and counseling service of the classical format given by the teacher of education background S1 and Non BK with working period <16 years and ≥ 16 years are in high category, and the average score of implementation of guidance and counseling service of classical format same category. 2) there is no significant difference in the background of BK and Non BK S1 education. 3) there is no significant difference in the implementation of classical counseling guidance and counseling services in terms of working period of <16 years and ≥ 16 years. 4) there is no significant interaction between the education background score and the working period of the BK teacher towards the implementation of classical counseling guidance and counseling services.

The importance of substantial vocational guidance and counseling services is discussed in light of the challenges and demands of the 80's to provide a higher quality of services to a more severely disabled clientele on less and less dollars with more and more accountability. The need for and the benefits of an effective client vocational assessment is examined along with a discussion of the client vocational assessment process.

Guidance and counseling services play an important role in helping students in academics and behavior as well as in planning their future. Realizing this, the Ministry of Education has issued a circular letter DG / 5209/35 / (40), which requires each school to appoint a teacher of guidance and counseling. This study was carried out to identify teachers' perception towards the needs of guidance and counseling in rural primary schools, especially in Bakong, Miri, Sarawak. This study is a descriptive study involving 35 teachers in rural primary schools in Bakong district. The instrument used was a questionnaire adapted from Haidhir Md Yusof Mohd study (2015) that includes four parts, A, B, C and D. Part A consists of eight items including demographic data, while likert scale was used in Part B, C and D. Part B includes the perception of guidance and counseling data, part C the needs and teachers of guidance and counseling in rural area, and section D identified the issues and roles that require the needs of guidance and counseling services. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis including frequency, percentage and mean. The findings could provide inputs not only to guidance and counseling area but also to the school, higher authorities and Ministry of education in upgrading the guidance and counseling services as well as ensuring the optimum use of the services in improving the quality of education.

<p><em>Evaluation of guidance and counseling services should ideally be conducted periodically and continuously. Appropriate evaluation procedures will provide many benefits for teachers Guidance and counseling. Evaluation gives teacher guidance and counseling feedback to develop and improve programs. Evaluations also provide information to leaders about student development and improvement efforts. Proper evaluation results will help the counselor in achieving the goals of guidance and counseling services. This study aims to determine how the evaluation process is in high school. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are interviews and observation. The sampling technique was carried out through a nonprobability sampling procedure. The results of this study indicate diversity in the evaluation process carried out by high schools. There are 6 (six) types of evaluations conducted by guidance and counseling teachers in high schools. The results of the study also illustrate the evaluation techniques and the purpose of schools conducting evaluations. We hope that the results of this study can provide information to improve the quality of evaluation in the Guidance and Counseling services in Indonesia</em>.</p>

Reading interst is a strong desire that  accompanied  a sense of pleasure of enjoyment of reading with self­­-will. Reading is a demand for individuals because reading is an effective activity to gain insight and knowledge. Surah Al-Alaq which is the first letter to come down is a reading order. Furthermore, the mandate of regulations and legislation also invites reading culture and encourages people to enjoy reading. The problematics of some of the research results indicate that Indonesian interest in reading is still relatively low. Therefore how important are efforts to foster interest in reading. Improving  interest in reading must be done through families, education units and the community. One of the factors influencing reading interest is the teacher. Counseling teacher/ Counselor is a teacher assigned to carry out guidance and counseling activities in schools responsible for providing various service activities in developing various student potentials and encouraging national education goals. Guidance counseling at schools is expected to be more intensive in order to improve students interest in reading through various types of counseling services. As for some services that can be applied in improving interest in reading such as orientation services, information, group guidance and individual counseling.

Quality and sustainability have been unresolved issues since the repercussion of the commercialization of distance education. Personal guidance, counseling and study habits, which are critical in maintaining the quality of distance education, have been underrated in most distance education. The study investigated the influence of personal guidance and counseling on study habits of distance learners in Bachelor of Education at the University of Nairobi. 319 respondents participated in the study by filling in questionnaires. The results of the Pearson Correlation Coefficient showed a positive correlation R= 0637 between personal guidance and counseling and study habits. The hypothesis was tested at α=.05 level of significance and the results H01: Personal guidance and counseling do not significantly influence study habits of distance learners was rejected since P=0.000<0.05. Therefore, the study concluded that there is a significant influence of personal guidance and counseling support services on the study habits of distance learners in Bachelor of Education studies of the University of Nairobi. The study recommends a paradigm shift through face to face and digital technology in the provision of personal guidance and counseling for study habits to maintain the quality of distance education.

This study aims to identify a form of politeness in the dialectic of guidance and counseling. The data in this study is a word, phrase, sentence, and discourse Obtained through listening process guidance and counseling services. This research of the data sources conversation in the process of guidance and counseling services. The research use the data collection methods of documentation, see and continued with the technical note. Use research the method of data analysis and the pragmatic intralingual match. The results Showed a form of politeness in the dialectic of guidance and counseling services include: (1) a greeting; (2) use the expression preamble; (3) use of humor; (4) use good language or not hurt the hearer; and (5) to give a compliment.

Mastery of counseling service skills for counseling teachers always needs to be done to improve the professionalism and quality of counseling guidance services in schools. One way to improve the skills of counseling teachers is through the supervision of counseling guidance. This study aims to describe the guidance and counseling teachers' understanding of the skills they have in carrying out counseling services and to describe the implementation of counseling guidance supervision activities at SMA Rejang Lebong. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. The population of this study was all high school counseling teachers in Rejang Lebong. The results showed that some of the skills often used in counseling services were questioning skills, providing support and reinforcement, listening, closing, empathy, clarification, problem-solving, focusing, and encouraging skills. While skills that are rarely or not yet mastered include focusing, paraphrasing, confrontation, opening up, and reframing skills. The results of the evaluation of the counseling guidance supervision activities showed that 80.73% of the supervisors said they had understood, mastered, and implemented several counseling service skills taught by supervisors in providing counseling services in schools, and only about 19.27% said they had not mastered and had not fully implemented the skills taught by a supervisor.

The counselor's personality is influenced by belief values (belief systems), so these values are essential to consider. Indonesia is a diverse country. Indonesian society is also a religious society. In terms of diversity and terms of religion, there is a match between the two points in the an-Nahdliyah moderation value as the majority group of Indonesian Islam. This study aims to improve the personal quality of the counselor based on an-Nahdliyah moderation values by providing training to prospective counselors. This study uses a one-group pretest-posttest design. Research subjects were 25 prospective counselors at STAI Miftahul Ulum Pamekasan with simple random sampling. The data analysis technique used a t-test. The results showed that an-Nahdliyah moderating values training for prospective counselors was effective in improving the personal quality of prospective counselors. This is evidenced by the value of increasing the personal quality of prospective counselors who fall into the medium category. This means that this training is appropriate to be used to improve the personal quality of prospective counselors in providing guidance and counseling services based on the values of tawassuth, tawazun, tasamuh, and i'tidal.

Lesson Study (LS) has been widely practiced by class teachers to improve the quality of learning in class. Lesson Study, which consists of the planning process (plan), the practice of carrying out learning (do), and reflection for improvement (see), is used by the classroom teacher to improve the process and learning outcomes. LS is applied to settings classical class. Information and orientation services in Guidance & Counseling (BK), almost similar to implementation Classroom learning, is given in a classical format. Information services are efforts that are made to meet students' lack of information, which can be done with several techniques such as conventional lectures, as well as with courses interactive with the help of media usage. Neither the orientation services are services provided in a classical format in a class aimed at helping students order able to adjust to the environment or new situations. So if Observing the application of LS can also be done on BK services, especially on services information and orientation. This paper discusses how to apply LS in BK service. The application of LS is expected to improve the quality of services provided by the BK teacher in the class.
