PT NT is one of an International Tobacco Industries in Indonesia. The rapid development of the cigarette industry, as well as the increased demand, encourage many companies to evolve their production quality and capacity. One effort established by PT NT is controlling the effectiveness of production machines, including SD5 machine. In this study, an analysis of SD5 machine performance conducted using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness and Total Effective Equipment Performance. Based on the ten days of direct observation of machine performance, the study revealed that the OEE level was only a mere at 63.2%, under the world level, 85%. Further, the TEEP number was about 36.8%. Those low figures were mainly caused by the low level of machine utilization and availability. Thus, the fishbone diagram established to discover the main causal, reporting that four main aspects, human, methods, material and machine, played essential roles in the problem.

Durban climate conference decided to continue the second commitment period of the Kyoto protocol, and announced to start Green Climate Fund, which provided great opportunities for the rapid development of the carbon trading market. The problem of grassland carbon sink has already received more and more attention from the countries all over the world, and the grassland carbon sink potential and value also got more attention from people. Xilinhot has abundant grassland resources and it is one of the main grasslands in Inner Mongolia. The huge carbon sink has important ecological function and also contains huge economic benefits. Based on the principle of additionality, this paper proposed the method of calculating the carbon sink potential of grasslands, and calculated and analyzed the carbon sink potential of degraded grasslands in Xilinhot. The results indicated that the existing huge carbon sink potential of Xilinhot grasslands was 0.733-0.869Tg C/a. According to the carbon sequestration cost price of afforestation cost method (260.9 RMB yuan / ton C), we estimated the value of grassland carbon sink was 191.2 - 226.7 million RMB yuan / year in Xilinhot.

as the manufacturing industry gains momentum around the world, the conflicts between its rapid development and the accompanying consumption of materials, discharge of wastes and ecological impacts spiral. Governments around the world have explored measures and made achievements in alleviating the dual pressures from economic growth and environmental degradation. As for the overall trend of the manufacturing industry, creating and developing “green manufacturing” brands is the only way for the manufacturing industry to achieve further development. It is of great significance to design guidelines for green manufacturing from the angle of branding, the green notion provides more profundity and the soul to brands, ensuring sustainable development of brands. The development of green brands in Xiamen has adopted a global vision and related to the local realities, which would provide lessons for high-quality development of green manufacturing brands in other places.

PT XYZ is the shoes manufacturer in Tangerang that produces Mizuno and Specs brand. Many competitors in the shoes industry enforce the company to improve all aspects; one of them is to improve the problem of low productivity achievement in Mizuno production line. This study aims to know the productivity measurement method by using Objective matrix, and to do analysis of productivity criteria that dominantly contribute to the low productivity in Mizuno production line. This research method was using Objective Matrix (OMAX), Pareto diagram, Fishbone diagram, and 5W1H. Base on the result, it was identified that the highest productivity performance indicator was happened in August 2018 and the lowest productivity performance indicator was happened in March 2018. While for productivity index, the lowest productivity index was happened in March 2018 and the highest productivity index was happened in April 2018. Criteria that dominantly contributed to the decreased productivity in Mizuno production line was on criteria 1 (utilization of material usage), criteria 6 (number of loss output / down time), and criteria 2 (labor utilization), therefore the focus for improvement in this research was to prioritize these criteria to gain increased productivity in Mizuno production line.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an enormous and unprecedented effect on higher education. Perhaps most notably, the virus catalysed a speedy movement to online delivery in response to the range of mandatory physical restrictions to campuses and classrooms around the world. To that end, this article discusses the online self-access student support options that were implemented at a mid-size public Australian university during March and April 2020. Drawing upon reflections from three student support leaders at the institution, it explores the rapid development and deployment of three new initiatives: self-access resources and videos for preparing to learn online, videoconference appointment options with learning advisers and librarians, and peer-to-peer virtual guides to online learning. It also comments on the implications of these programs for future practice, including the personally observed criticality of student feedback on accessible short video guides, flexible online individual support options and avenues for connecting with peers for technical support. Through this exploration and reflection, this article contributes to the new emerging body of literature on student support during the outbreak of COVID-19.

Since the implementation of China’s reform and opening-up policy, the rapid development of economy and the international exchanges require a growing need for the publicity materials and translation, C-E translation in particular, in which, faithful reproduction of China’s culture and image should be regarded as the priority. Many translators have been aware of the great importance of the cultural communication in translation of publicity materials, and various theories had been applied to study this issue both at home and abroad. In terms of preserving the source-language culture, Venuti advocates the dissimilarities between two languages. And that is why he puts forward foreignization. However, due to the dominating position of domesticating translation theory in China, Lawrence Venuti’s theory of foreignization failed to receive enough attention in the field from translators and translation researchers in China. This paper, by using the theory of Venuti’s foreignization to analyze the C-E translation of the publicity materials, especially a case study of An Overview of the World Exposition Shanghai China 2010, aims to demonstrate the application of Venuti’s foreignization to analyzing the translation of the publicity materials, and therefore provides a brand-new approach for English learners to analyze the C-E publicity materials.

Abstract Culture shapes our basic sensory experience of the world. This is particularly striking in the study of religion and psychosis, where we and others have shown that cultural context determines both the structure and content of hallucination-like events. The cultural shaping of hallucinations may provide a rich case-study for linking cultural learning with emerging prediction-based models of perception.

This paper addresses the fields of social and service design in development contexts, practice-based and constructive design research. A framework for social design for services will be explored through the survey of existing literature, specifically by drawing on eight doctoral theses that were produced by the World Design research group. The work of World Design researcher-designers was guided by a strong ethos of social and service design for development in marginalised communities. The paper also draws on a case study in Namibia and South Africa titled ‘My Dream World’. This case study presents a good example of how the social design for services framework functions in practice during experimentation and research in the field. The social design for services framework transfers the World Design group’s research results into practical action, providing a tool for the facilitation of design and research processes for sustainable development in marginal contexts.

This paper demonstrates how a range of linguistic methods can be harnessed in pursuit of a deeper understanding of the ‘lived experience’ of psychological disorders. It argues that such methods should be applied more in medical contexts, especially in medical humanities. Key extracts from The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath are examined, as a case study of the experience of depression. Combinations of qualitative and quantitative linguistic methods, and inter- and intra-textual comparisons are used to consider distinctive patterns in the use of metaphor, personal pronouns and (the semantics of) verbs, as well as other relevant aspects of language. Qualitative techniques provide in-depth insights, while quantitative corpus methods make the analyses more robust and ensure the breadth necessary to gain insights into the individual experience. Depression emerges as a highly complex and sometimes potentially contradictory experience for Plath, involving both a sense of apathy and inner turmoil. It involves a sense of a split self, trapped in a state that one cannot overcome, and intense self-focus, a turning in on oneself and a view of the world that is both more negative and more polarized than the norm. It is argued that a linguistic approach is useful beyond this specific case.
