The cultural meeting creates a form of art performance  namely Madam Balance Dance. The existence of the Madam balanse dance is influenced by several factors such as: customs, religion, community and government environment. This dance has changed its function from dance as a custom to dance as entertainment, this is because of the lack of interest in the community and the government of Padang to preserve and learn the Madam Balanse dance. One of the efforts to keep the Madam Balanse dance alive and sustainable is that the government have to promote or introduce the Madam Balanse dance again to the public. Keywords: Factors Affecting the Existence of Madam Balanse Dance

The world is in the grip of a health crisis due to the unforeseen consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic causing a substantial increase in distress associated with pain, depression, and loss. Indonesia is not handling the epidemic properly at this early stage due to a lack of planning and readiness on the part of the country. The government subsequently established the COVID-19 national task force, a COVID-19 assistance centre that reflects the government's readiness and urgency in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. At the national and regional levels, the task force reports directly to the president, organizes and encourages all connected agencies to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. The task force's other responsibility is to raise awareness about COVID-19 to the general public. The study aims to determine how Indonesia's COVID-19 task force volunteers can act as a communication aid for the public as a source of empowerment during the pandemic, as well as to examine risk communication and community engagement. This research uses a qualitative approach using the theory of social support. As a result, this study has identified new volunteering approaches for Indonesia's COVID-19 task force that could act as a support system as well as improvements on their approach on community engagement with the public.

This study mainly explores the communication preferences of the public; their level of trust in the government; and the factors affecting their risk/crisis perception amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The key findings —derived from the data collected through an online survey and analysis using descriptive statistics, cross-tabulations, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), provide insights on how Local Government Units (LGUs) can improve their risk/crisis communication in this current health crisis. Among the key takeaways include the use of social media platforms, like Facebook, and native/local language for effective risk/crisis communication which may, consequently, foster trust building between the LGUs and the public.

House is the most important basic need for the human survival, however many individuals especially those who are categorised in the category of generation Y still do not acquire a house due to various factors. It is quite a normal practice for most of home-buyers in Malaysia to purchase a house through banking institutions. However, as a Muslim, it is an obligation to purchase and acquire a house through Islamic financial institutions (IFIs) as it is accordance to the Shariah principle. The objective of the study is to qualitatively identify factors affecting the behavior of Muslims generation Y in Malaysia towards Islamic home financing products. Apparently, it is found that religious belief, profit rate, offer and promotion, and fast service (loan approval) are factors in affecting Muslims generation Y in choosing Islamic home financing products. Afterwards, the study proposed to integrate the findings (identified factors) with the theory of Attitude-Behavior-Context (ABC). The study findings are expected to contribute significantly to the theory, methodology, and empirical practices.

This chapter examines various radical and incremental changes and innovations (physical, economic, educational, societal, and cultural) introduced by the government of Saudi Arabia in view of the slogan “modernization without westernization.” The slogan highlights the government efforts to encourage incremental change to integrate development or modernization with the traditional values. However, the authors aim to confirm whether this is an incremental change accepted by the public or a radical change where the tradition is being replaced by westernization, that is, whether it is modernization with or without westernization. The approach taken in this study is to examine the literature in order to find some evidence that supports or refutes the slogan. The authors also conducted a questionnaire survey involving 237 respondents in order to determine their perceptions toward this slogan. The results provide strong support for both modernization and westernization since these two practices have brought about many positive changes to Saudi Arabia. Thus, if one were to include certain Saudi values into the concept of modernization, particularly those related to culture and religion, one could safely say that the slogan or motto, “modernization without westernization,” is true or acceptable only up to a certain extent. In other words, the findings suggest Saudi society is more accepting of both “modernization” and “westernization” as long as they do not go against the basic tenets of Islam.

Non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) are recognized as the fundamental of a financial market as they complement the banking institutions. Since 1981, NBFIs have been playing a vital role in the economic growth of Bangladesh. Unfortunately, in the recent years most of the NBFIs have been found financially distressed. However, few NBFIs that were included in our sample claimed themselves as potential companies with sound financial performance though it was highly criticized. Therefore, the motivation for conducting this study is to examine the financial soundness of selected NBFIs using Altman’s Z score (1995). This study involved 20 NBFIs out of 23 Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) listed institutions, which were selected based on information availability by considering A, B and Z categories from 2014 to 2018 period. The secondary data were collected from the annual reports of the selected companies over the period. The findings are as follows: 95% of the 20 NBFIs were in distress zone during the study period and only 5% NBFIs were in safe zone during 2017-2018 period. Therefore, the analysis predicted that within the upcoming years a few of the NBFIs will be approaching bankruptcy. Finally, it is suggested that the government, respective regulatory authority, and policy makers to pay an immediate attention on mitigating the factors affecting the financial distress.

Abstract: Currently the development of technology is growing very rapidly and has entered into all sectors, including the financial sector. With the technology to the financial sector, it is slowly transforming the financial industry into the digital era. The combination of Financial Technique (Fintech) with financial institutions, especially sharia financial institutions, is considered to increase financial inclusiveness in agriculture. Inclusion is a situation where the public is not aware of access to digital finance. The emergence of problems in the first agricultural sector due to lack of land, secondly due to lack of farmer capital and thirdly due to lack of land processors made modernization of technology create agricultural financial technology as an alternative to increase financial inclusion in agriculture. The use of fintech agro in Indonesia is felt to be lacking because of constraints such as lack of literacy to the community, poorly trained human resources, lack of legislation and lack of network access to remote villages. Financial inclusion can increase with the support of the government to improve supporting facilities and infrastructure for the use of fintech agro in Indonesia.
