The second year (2017) Science Program for the Region (IbW) is a priority in the program in the previous year that is in 2016. The program in the first year has been fruitful and by the team will be developed further. The application of science and technology in this program in the past year has resulted in both services and products in the form of, the formation of the group, the formation of the bamboo creative industrial sub-group, the creative economy of beverages and chips, small wood industry, and printing business. The entire sector is based on renewable raw materials (green raw material). These results have had a significant impact on increasing incomes, updating science and technology in the community, regional economic growth, togetherness in managing creative productive economy in the group region.To develop the Science and Technology program for the Region (IbW) hereinafter, this program aims to create more independence and welfare of the community in Pandes and Gondang villages, especially the ex-Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) through empowerment programs that have been established by synergizing the college and Government counseling Kendal district as set forth in the RPJMD, and secondly, providing coverage in overcoming unemployment over solutions to problems faced by district and community Governments that directly potentially affect income and welfare improvements. In order to achieve these objectives, through the IbW program in 2017 the method used is to recruit new members (now 18 SMEs) to the established groups in order to have broader effects, extension and empowerment for industrialization of bamboo products innovation, creative drinking industry innovation and chips, wood industry groups, and printing business groups. Achievement and Motivation Training (AMT) method was also conducted to increase entrepreneurial motivation. The activity is carried out continuously with a plan of three consecutive years, this is the second year.

Phenol–formaldehyde (PF) resin continues to dominate the resin industry more than 100 years after its first synthesis. Its versatile properties such as thermal stability, chemical resistance, fire resistance, and dimensional stability make it a suitable material for a wide range of applications. PF resins have been used in the wood industry as adhesives, in paints and coatings, and in the aerospace, construction, and building industries as composites and foams. Currently, petroleum is the key source of raw materials used in manufacturing PF resin. However, increasing environmental pollution and fossil fuel depletion have driven industries to seek sustainable alternatives to petroleum based raw materials. Over the past decade, researchers have replaced phenol and formaldehyde with sustainable materials such as lignin, tannin, cardanol, hydroxymethylfurfural, and glyoxal to produce bio-based PF resin. Several synthesis modifications are currently under investigation towards improving the properties of bio-based phenolic resin. This review discusses recent developments in the synthesis of PF resins, particularly those created from sustainable raw material substitutes, and modifications applied to the synthetic route in order to improve the mechanical properties.

Activities of science and technology for innovation and creativity campus aims are: (1) thecommercialization of science and technology campus creativity as a source of financing for the developmentof institutions; (2) stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit among beings campus, and (3) help people get seeds ofdrought-tolerant maize varieties. Methods of execution include the business aspects of the planned businessactivities consist of: provision of raw materials, production processes, management, marketing, humanresources, facilities, and financial. The raw material is obtained from units of science and technology fornovation and creativity campus and through partnerships with farmers' seed corn. The production processstarted from seed, sorting, and packaging. Marketing is done directly, partnerships with local governmentsand konsiniasi with kiosk / farm shop. Results show that the activities of science and technology unit forinnovation and creativity campus drought-tolerant maize seed has gone well characterized by supportinfrastructure adequate maize seed production; IbIKK unit operates under the management of PSAgroecotechnology Faculty of Agriculture, University of Udayana; Of investment made in 2014 amountingto Rp. 39,550,000; Result of sales corn seeds turnover in 2014 amounted to 400 kg (Rp. 12 million); and netcash flow amounted to 17,672,400.

The increasing number of community plantation forests in Indonesia, specializing in plywood, has improved the size of this market. Many companies succeed in this business, creating fierce competition for raw material supplies. Additionally, the Indonesian government has intensified the wood industry production in 2015 so that several fast growing and shortage timber species were introduced. However, this great opportunity is also faced with the challenge that timber exported overseas must be certified. The existence of middlemen in the business supply chain can potentially disrupt the business with unsustainable procedures and can harm the environment. In this study, we investigated the requirements of a partnership to establish a sustainable partnership with the local communities, to provide a sustainable environmental development in Lombok and to deliver profitable business prospects to the wood industries. This research focused on investigating Dharma Satya Nusantara Group (DSNG)’s challenge to obtain and to secure raw materials of wood to maintain and to sustain its future plywood manufacturing businesses. A qualitative method was employed by using snowball sampling of 17 individuals, including farmers, landowners, NGOs, middlemen, and logistic companies. Finally, a triangulation method was employed to analyze the data. Our findings proved that a mediator was needed to find mutual goals between private sectors in the local community. The mediator position should be neutral and prohibit from taking a side. DSNG as the buyer could utilize an expert practitioner that would act as a mediator to connect with the people, while the farmers would be supported by cooperation as their connector to DSNG. Finally, a collectivist culture, mutual trust, solidarity, teamwork, and education were essential factors for sustainable partnership.

In the Forest-Steppe Zone of Ukraine, a study was carried out to establish the effect of mineral fertilizers and drip irrigation on the yield of dry raw material. It was found that irrigation significantly increases productivity of althaea, by eliminating the deficit of soil moisture in critical periods of growth and development. The yield increase caused by the use of drip irrigation in the first year of vegetation of the crop was 1.27–1.98 t/ha for dry grass, for leaves — 0.69–1.17 t/ha, for roots 0.22–0.39 t/ha. For the second growing season, the yield increase was: 1.52–4.7 t/ha for grass, 0.46–1.35 t/ha for leaves and 1.5–2.76 t/ha for roots. It was also found that increase of the mineral fertilizers main application dose caused increase of the yield. The highest yield of dry raw material of the culture was obtained in both the first and second years of the growing season with the introduction of N180P180K180. With the application of mineral fertilizer at a dose of N180P180K180 under conditions of drip irrigation, the yield of dried althaea grass was 8.09 t/ha, leaves — 3.88 t/ha, roots — 3.08 t/ha, which exceeded the option without fertilizers and without irrigation by 4.08 t/ha for grass, 2.04 t/ha for leaves, 1.44 t/ha for roots. The highest yield was obtained in the second year of vegetation using the variant with the application of the highest dose of mineral fertilizers under drip irrigation, where the yield of dry grass was 15.78 t/ha, leaves — 4.42 t/ha, roots — 6.24 t/ha. On the plantation of the second year of vegetation in the variant without irrigation and without fertilizers, the yield of raw materials was the lowest. It was 6.85 t/ha for grass, 1.88 t/ha for leaves and 2.12 t/ha for roots.

The increased development of residential areas and community facilities in the South Kalimantan region, especially in Banjarmasin and its surroundings, increased demand for wood, The research objectives were to identify the problems of small industry entrepreneurs with waste wood/sibitan raw material. The research period was 5 (five) months, from the end of January 2020 to the end of April 2020, which included the preparation of research proposals, research, data processing, and reporting. The results of the research were: a) the high level of community demand for sawn wood as a basic material for building houses and the dependence of the Banjarmasin Utara Subdistrict community on the presence of the wood industry was important factors for the existence of the wood industry with raw material from industrial waste wood; b) Laws and Ministerial Regulations stipulated that the licensing authority for a logging industry is carried out by the forestry service, while for every other industry it is regulated by the Industry and Trade office; c) the solution to fulfilling the requirements for obtaining a small industry license is a guarantee that the supply of raw materials can be obtained from three alternatives, namely; source of raw materials from the waste of business permit for the Primary Industries of Timber Forest Products (IUIPHHK), People’s Plantations (HTR), and rejected wood, and d) draft policy on the legality of the wood industry with raw material from waste wood. Identification of Leading Forest Commodities in Supporting ‘Batik’ Wood Creative Industry in Gunungkidul Regency The forestry sector is one of the sectors that has a role in increasing revenue in Gunungkidul Regency, contributing more than a quarter of the regency’s GRDP with main commodities of mahogany, acacia, and sengon. With a forest area of ​​56,592 Ha, it is possible for Gunungkidul Regency to produce large amounts of wood. Wood produced in Gunungkidul Regency are processed into wood-derived products in the form of wooden batik handicrafts, with an average annual turnover of Rp 4,134,801,000.00. This study aims to identify leading commodities using Location Quotient method and to provide land suitability factor for forestry commodities as batik wood industry raw material. Secondary data and primary data are used in this study. Secondary data were obtained through data collection from related institutions, such as the Office of Cooperatives and SMEs of Gunungkidul Regency and Gunungkidul Regency in Figures, Meanwhile, primary data were sourced from interviews. From the results of the study, it was concluded that mahogany and acacia are leading commodities compared to sengon. The implications of this research are expected to be input for the formulation of local government strategies, as well as for batik wood craft producers concentrated at Patuk District in developing the creative economy sector using raw material from Gunungkidul Regency.

The purpose of the study. In the rapidly industrializing Hungary, the wood industry became an important economic branch in the country by the beginning of the 20th century, which also played a significant role in the country’s foreign trade. This industry was extremely important in the area I studied, as the forest cover along the Dráva was above the national average, and the quality of the forest stock also had an international reputation. In the last third of the 19th century, domestic and foreign demand for wood products increased, which was accompanied by an increase in the purchase prices of wood raw materials. Applied methods. I involved sources from monographies, employment and census records, and my own data from researches of archives. In my study I present the larger wood companies in the region, the results of the plants, the operation and extent of the industry, and their market relations. I also made a structural analysis examining the entrepreneur and its business together. Outcomes. During this period, the logistical and transportation possibilities of the region improved, as the railway lines – built almost completely until the war – networked the region. In addition to transport on the river, crossing opportunities also increased, so the raw material could reach a processing unit more and more quickly. In the age of dualism, a strong stratum of forest owners and entrepreneurs in the wood industry developed. Major wood industry enterprises were established mainly in the larger estates (Bellye, Dárda, Barcs, Berzence) or through citizenship in the territory of certain large municipalities. Outstanding among these was the Beliscian plant beyond the Dráva, which in two decades had become the largest timber company in Central Europe, employing thousands of people.

AbstractFunctionality and appearance are key aspects of good footwear. Developments in recent science and technology offer a wider scope of innovations, contributing to diversity and higher complexity of the production concept of footwear. Contemporary industrial footwear market offers a practically limitless number of new design and fashion solutions, often of quite similar appearance, but with significant differences in quality level, both regarding manufacture, raw material content, durability, and in some special functional finishes. The materials for footwear manufacture are functionalized for functional protective purposes, such as antimicrobial, waterproofing, fire resistant, wear and tear resistant, and recently for some therapeutical purposes. Novelties in material functionalization for the materials built in the footwear are most often promoted and presented on tags and labels and are used as advertisement issues, while some functionalities have become a logo for some brands.
