MOLECULAR MARKER ASSISTED SELECTION FOR Phytophthora capsici Leon. RESISTANCE LINES IN PEPPER (Capsicum annuum L.)

The most important diseases that cause loss of productivity in all areas of pepper production in the world and the limitation of cultivation are Phytophthora crown blight of pepper (Phytophthora capsici Leon.). The disease is a soil borne pathogen, and its challenge is difficult. Selection of varieties resistant to diseases of soil-borne plant pathogens is the most efficient, economical and sustainable method. In this study, the resistance of Phytophthora crown blight (Phytophthora capsici Leon.) disease on 95 pepper genotype in terms of yield and some quality characteristics was investigated by using SCAR marker (OpD04.717). In the study, pepper lines in 7 pepper genotype F2 population showed durability band at 717 bp of agarose gel, while 88 pepper genotype were found to be sensitive. As a result of molecular studies, 7 pepper genotype resistant to Phytophthora capsici Leon. were also confirmed by classical test using seedling immersion method. In the study, as a result of molecular and classical tests, Phytophthora capsici Leon. is determined to be resistant to pepper lines in the hybridization programs to obtain new varieties and will be used as a parent or father will contribute to improvement studies.

The traditional way for lexicographers to deal with polysemy in dictionaries is by applying the terms lumping and splitting. We will not follow this tradition. Instead, we argue that the identification and selection of meaning items (= polysems) should be treated in the same way as the identification and selection of lemmas. Identifying meaning items is comparable to identifying different words, the only difference being that meaning items share the same orthographic form. When identifying meaning items, we do not at the outset assume that a somewhat abstract meaning can be split up. Instead, we always assume that there may be many meaning items connected to a lemma, and we try to identify them – though for some lemmas, it is only possible to identify one meaning item. The process of identification involves a method that combines analyzing corpora and establishing a meaning relationship to references in the world (in this contribution called things), followed by a meaning formulation of the identified meaning items which can be used for reception situations. Not always – as in the case of lemma selection – will all the identified meaning items be included in the dictionary. The selection of identifi ed meaning items will depend on the genuine purpose of the dictionary.

Представлены результаты изучения сортов сои мировой коллекции ВИР в условиях Рязанской области в 2015 2018 гг. Целью исследований является изучение коллекционного материала сои в условиях Рязанской области и выявление скороспелых и высокопродуктивных образцов, адаптированных к условиям Центрального региона России. В коллекционном питомнике изучалось 224 образца сои из 30 стран, в т.ч. 52 сортов отечественной селекции. Ежегодно самыми скороспелыми сортами были сорта российской селекции Эльдорадо, СибНИИК315, Касатка, Светлая сорта шведской селекции Brawalla и 1384 и сорт Прогресс (Польша). Установлено, что продуктивность сортов сои во все годы исследований в большей степени зависела от количества продуктивных узлов на растении (r 0,738) и количества семян на растении (r 0,827). Урожайность семян в 2015 2018 гг. сильно зависела от погодных условий: наиболее урожайными были сорта Мерлин (Австрия) и Gaillard (Канада). При изменяющихся погодных условиях важным показателем сортов является их устойчивость к стрессу. Установлено, что самую высокую устойчивость к стрессу ( 3,7) имеют сорт Елена (Украина) и линия Н17/09 (Россия). Самую низкую стрессоустойчивость имели сорта Мерлин ( 13,6) и MON04 ( 13,5). Полученные новые знания будут использованы в практической селекции при создании новых сортов, адаптированных к условиям Центрального региона России. При селекции сои на продуктивность необходимо учитывать количество продуктивных узлов, бобов и семян на растении. Селекция на скороспелость осуществляется с учётом пригодности сортов к механизированной уборке.The results of the study of soybean varieties of the world collection of VIR in the conditions of the Ryazan region in 2015 2018 are presented. The aim of the research is to study the collectable material of soybeans in the conditions of the Ryazan region and to identify earlyripening and highly productive samples adapted to the conditions of the Central region of Russia. 224 samples of soy from 30 countries were studied in a collection nursery including 52 of varieties of domestic selection. Annually the most earlyripening varieties were varieties of Russian selection Eldorado, SibNIIK315, Kasatka, Svetlaya varieties of Swedish selection Brawalla and 1384 and variety Progress (Poland). It was established that the productivity of soybean varieties in all years of research was more dependent on the number of productive nodes on the plant (r 0.738) and the number of seeds on the plant (r 0.827). Seed yield in 2015 2018 strongly depended on weather conditions: the most productive varieties were Merlin (Austria) and Gaillard (Canada). Under changing weather conditions an important indicator of varieties is their resistance to stress. It was established that the highest resistance to stress ( 3.7) was in the variety Elena (Ukraine) and the line N17/09 (Russia). The lowest stress resistance had varieties Merlin ( 13.6) and MON04 ( 13.5). The new knowledge gained will be used in practical selection to create new varieties adapted to the conditions of the Central region of Russia. When selecting soybeans for productivity it is necessary to take into account the number of productive nodes, beans and seeds on the plant. Selection for early ripeness is carried out taking into account the suitability of varieties for mechanized harvesting.

Abstract. In the construction of scales intended for the use in cross-cultural studies, the selection of items needs to be guided not only by traditional criteria of item quality, but has to take information about the measurement invariance of the scale into account. We present an approach to automated item selection which depicts the process as a combinatorial optimization problem and aims at finding a scale which fulfils predefined target criteria – such as measurement invariance across cultures. The search for an optimal solution is performed using an adaptation of the [Formula: see text] Ant System algorithm. The approach is illustrated using an application to item selection for a personality scale assuming measurement invariance across multiple countries.

Ben Jonson's early plays show a marked interest in prose as a counterpoint to the blank verse norm of the Renaissance stage. This essay presents a digital analysis of Jonson's early mixed-mode plays and his two later full-prose comedies. It examines this selection of the Jonsonian corpus using DocuScope, a piece of software that catalogs sentence-level features of texts according to a series of rhetorical categories, highlighting the distinctive linguistic patterns associated with Jonson's verse and prose. Verse tends to employ abstract, morally and emotionally charged language, while prose is more often characterized by expressions that are socially explicit, interrogative, and interactive. In the satirical economy of these plays, Jonson's characters usually adopt verse when they articulate censorious judgements, descending into prose when they wade into the intractable banter of the vicious world. Surprisingly, the prosaic signature that Jonson fashioned in his earlier drama persisted in the two later full-prose comedies. The essay presents readings of Every Man Out of his Humour and Bartholomew Fair, illustrating how the tension between verse and prose that motivated the satirical dynamics of the mixed-mode plays was released in the full-prose comedies. Jonson's final experiments with theatrical prose dramatize the exhaustion of the satirical impulse by submerging his characters almost entirely in the prosaic world of interactive engagement.

Program pemuliaan ikan mas varietas Punten dilakukan dengan seleksi individu terhadap karakter bobot ikan. Pembentukan populasi dasar untuk kegiatan seleksi dilakukan dengan memijahkan secara massal induk ikan mas yang terdiri atas 20 induk betina dan 21 induk jantan yang dikoleksi dari daerah Punten, Kepanjen (delapan betina dan enam jantan), Kediri (tujuh betina dan 12 jantan), Sragen (27 betina dan 10 jantan), dan Blitar (15 betina dan 11 jantan). Larva umur 10 hari dipelihara selama empat bulan. Selanjutnya dilakukan penjarangan sebesar 50% dan benih dipelihara selama 14 bulan untuk dilakukan seleksi dengan panduan hasil sampling 250 ekor individu setiap populasi. Seleksi terhadap calon induk dilakukan saat umur 18 bulan pada populasi jantan dan betina secara terpisah dengan memilih berdasarkan 10% bobot ikan yang terbaik. Calon induk yang terseleksi kemudian dipelihara hingga matang gonad, kemudian dipilih sebanyak 150 pasang dan dipijahkan secara massal. Didapatkan respons positif dari hasil seleksi berdasarkan bobot ikan, yaitu 49,89 g atau 3,66% (populasi ikan jantan) dan 168,47 g atau 11,43% (populasi ikan betina). Nilai heritabilitas untuk bobot ikan adalah 0,238 (jantan) dan 0,505 (betina).Punten carp breeding programs were carried out by individual selection for body weight trait. The base population for selection activities were conducted by mass breeding of parent consisted of 20 female and 21 male collected from area Punten, eight female and six male (Kepanjen), seven female and 12 male (Kediri), 27 female and 10 male (Sragen), 15 female and 11 male (Blitar). Larvae 10 days old reared for four moths. Then after spacing out 50% of total harvest, the offspring reared for 14 months for selection activity based on the sampling of 250 individual each population. Selection of broodstock candidates performed since 18 months age on male and female populations separately by selecting based on 10% of fish with best body weight. Candidates selected broodstocks were then maintained until mature. In oder to produce the next generation 150 pairs were sets and held for mass spawning. The results revealed that selection response were positive, 49.89 g (3.66%) for male and 168.47 (11.43%) for female. Heritability for body weight is 0.238 (male) and 0.505 (female).

The characteristics of new varieties of potatoes of the selection of the Kamchatsky RIA are created in accordance with the priority for the region selection areas included in the State Register of Selection Achievements of the Russian Federation and protected by patents.

This paper presents the results of two years of research (2018-2019) of the most important phonological phases of seasonal growth and development, biometric parameters, productivity and economic efficiency of new varieties of Chinese plum (P. salicina Lindl.) grown in the foothill zone of the North Caucasus in the Krymsk district of Krasnodar territory on a plot of the Krymsk experimental breeding station – branch of VIR. As a result of research, the varieties Angeleno, Black Star, Byron Gold, Black Amber, Larry Ann and Sun Gold were recommended for cultivation using intensive technologies.
