Factors Associated with the Quality of Pharmacy Service Provision in Denpasar, Bali

Background and purpose: The approach of pharmacy service provision has shifted from rudimentary medicine distribution to becoming more patient centered. The objective of this study was to explore the factors that affect the quality of pharmaceutical care in pharmacist owned and managed (APA) pharmacies in Denpasar.Methods: Study was cross-sectional with 68 samples collected by systematic random sampling among 214 pharmacies at Denpasar City. Data was collected by interview with pharmacists, self-administered-questionnaires to their staff and observation regarding the quality of services. Bivariate data analyis was conducted using chi square test and multivariate analysis was carried out using logistic regression.Results: Findings indicated that 48.5% (33 pharmacies) provide poor quality services. The presence of APA, the status of APA and the ownership of pharmacy affected the quality of pharmacy service. Multivariate analysis indicated that ownership of pharmacy was the most dominant variable impacting upon quality of pharmaceutical care (AOR=7.04 (95%CI: 1.5-33.8).Conclusion: The ownership of pharmacy affected the quality of pharmaceutical service provision in Denpasar.

Background: One of the strategic efforts to reduce maternal mortality rate (MMR) is through the provision of comprehensive midwifery care. from pregnancy, childbirth to the puerperium. Indicators of success in midwifery care can be seen from the quality of life of postpartum mothers. Preliminary studies in Agam and Pasaman districts show that 50% of post-partum mothers have a poor quality of life. Methods: This analytic descriptive study with a cross-sectional design involved postpartum mother as the subject. The sample of the study was many postpartum mothers who received midwifery services at practicing independent midwives in Pasaman and Agam districts. Samples were taken using the accidental sampling technique within 1 month. A questionnaire for evaluating the quality of life of postpartum women is used as an instrument to measure the quality of life of postpartum mothers. Data were analyzed univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test Results: A total of 75.4% of the research subjects had a good quality of life. There is a relationship between service quality (p= 0.001) and maternal satisfaction (p= 0.001) with the quality of life for postpartum mothers. Conclusion: The better the quality of midwifery services and the level of satisfaction with services, the better the quality of life for postpartum mothers. Therefore, it is recommended that midwives maintain the quality of midwifery care starting from pregnancy, childbirth to childbirth on an ongoing basis (continuity of care).

The theme medication/self-diagnosis presents contrary opinions about what is right or wrong, in addition to being scarce the quantitative studies with the purpose to clarify the causes of these two dangerous practices. For both, the objective of this study was to identify the causes that influence the self-diagnosis and medication, as well as analyze failures in public assistance in health, which can be promoting the avoidance of the patient to search for an alternative medicine, evidencing the risk that this done can promote. It was a descriptive and cross-sectional study, of qualitative nature, carried out in all health centers in the urban area of Marabá (Pará State, Brazil), through the application of forms and having the data analyzed and tabulated, making use mainly of Chi-square statistical test. The results showed that education is not directly related to the medication, which before was vacant in literature, but the main result highlighted expressed that the motivation for the choice of ingesting medication without prescription, are the difficulties encountered in SUS, the poor quality of care and failures in the relationship doctor patient of the public health service.

<p>Breast milk is the best food for an infant. Toddlers are faster affected by the chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes when they grow up. The main causes are less quality of getting the exclusive breastfeeding. The percentage of exclusive breastfeeding in Maimunah’s midwifery lab work was only77,09% in 2016. The purpose of this study was to determine those factors that influenced exclusive breastfeeding in Maimunah’s midwifery lab work Palembang. This study was about a quantitative one with a cross-sectional approach and carried on 2nd-15th of August 2016. There were 94 qualified respondents and the data collection was done by using the questionnaire. The data were analyzed by frequency test, chi-square test, and logistic regression. The shown that 62.8% who gave the exclusive breastfeeding, 55,3% didn’t work,  47,9% were in an age of 20-30, 59,6% had high education, and 63,8% had children ≥2. Meanwhile, there was a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding with the occupation (p-value=0.000), age (p-value=0.025), education  (p-value=0,020), and parity (p-value=0.022). The result of multivariate analysis shown that influential factors of exclusive breastfeeding were occupational, age and parity. Furthermore, the most influential factor was an occupation with OR = 10.197.  It was suggested to improve the motivation of working mothers to have the exclusive breastfeeding by facilitating them with the corner of breastfeeding in their office.</p>

Background: Substance dependents is a major challenge for the economic wellbeing of an individual, society or a country. There is a huge gap between treatment demand and supply. Treatment facilities provided by the centers are different and are many a times lesser and inferior than required. This study was aimed to explore the status of basic facilities in the treatment centers of Sikkim from dependents’ perspectives.Methods: This study was conducted with n=241 participants who were undergoing treatment in seven different treatment centers of Sikkim. Reliable and pre-validated sociodemographic and treatment facility questionnaires were administered by the investigator on personal interview. Answers were recorded on the questionnaire and the same was entered in SPSS following which frequency and chi square analysis was done.Results: There were more male participants than females. Also, more number of participants were from Nepali, Hindu and urban origin. 31% participants were found to be unemployed. Knowledge about other treatment centers was fair (66%) and maximum had the knowledge of present treatment facilities. More than 90% participants were not satisfied with the contact facilities and nutritional supplements (98%). At around 41% participants reported that the education sessions were either boring or useless or both.Conclusions: In order to increase the entry in the treatment, there is a need to improve the quality of different facilities at the treatment centers. Also, there is a need of intermittent audit of the minimum required facilities.

HIV / AIDS sufferers overcome various problems both physical, social, and emotional. If emotional problems such as decreased arousal succeed, stress, confusion, depression, are not immediately addressed then it can reduce the quality of life of people with HIV / AIDS. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of depression levels with the quality of life of people with HIV / AIDS in the Gajah Mungkur Wonogiri Peer Support Group. The study used descriptive correlative with a cross sectional study design. The sample took with a consecutive sampling, with the sample size of 116 respondents. There were 14 respondents did not arrive when the data was taken. The instruments in this study used the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and WHOQOLHIV-BREF questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square test. This study result showed that depression level of respondent were 25 respondents did not experience depression, 21 respondents (18.1%) had good perception quality, the remaining 4 respondents had poor quality of life, while 36 respondents experienced an increase in poor quality of life as many as 19 respondents (16.4%). Respondents who experience severe depression as many as 33 respondents (28.4%) more have a poor quality of life as many as 20 respondents (17.2%). The result showed that p-value = 0.001, which means there was a relationship between the level of depression with the quality of life of people with HIV / AIDS in the Gajah Mungkur Peer Support Group. Apabila masalah emosional seperti penurunan gairah bekerja, stress, bingung, malu, depresi tidak segera diatasi maka bisa menurunkan kualitas hidup penderita HIV/AIDS. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat depresi dengan kualitas hidup penderita HIV/AIDS di Kelompok Dukungan Sebaya Gajah Mungkur Wonogiri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif korelatif dengan desain cross sectional study melalui kuesioner, Teknik pengambilan sampling dengan consecutive sampling dengan ukuran sampel sebanyak 116 responden. Instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah kuesioner Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) dan WHOQOLHIV-BREF. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 25 responden tidak mengalami depresi, 21 responden (18,1%) memiliki persepsi kualitas hidupnya baik, sisanya 4 responden memiliki kualitas hidup yang buruk; sedangkan 36 responden mengalami depresi sedang memiliki kualitas hidup yang buruk sebanyak 19 responden (16,4%). Responden yang mengalami depresi berat sebanyak 33 responden (28,4%) lebih banyak memiliki kualitas hidup yang buruk sejumlah 20 responden (17,2%). Nilai p adalah 0,001, yang berarti ada hubungan antara tingkat depresi dengan kualitas hidup penderita HIV/AIDS di Kelompok Dukungan Sebaya Gajah Mungkur Wonogiri. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive and irreversible disorder of renal function, in which the body's ability to fail to maintain metabolism and balance of fluids and electrolytes, causing uremia. The purpose of this study in general was to determine the relationship between hemoglobin levels and quality of life in chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis at dr. M. Yunus Bengkulu. This type of research is descriptive analytic with cross sectional approach. The study sample was 64 patients with CKD who underwent hemodialysis at the hemodialysis installation with accidental sampling technique. The results showed that most patients with chronic kidney disease who underwent haemodialysis (71.9%) had severe anemia and most (56.3%) had a poor quality of life. Chi square test results obtained ρ value 0,000 (α = 0.05). Conclusion, There is a statistically significant correlation between anemia and quality of life in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis in the RDUD Dr. Hemodialysis room. M. Yunus. Suggested to Dr. Hospital M. Yunus Bengkulu to control the incidence and symptoms of anemia experienced by CKD patients. Keywords: Anemia, Hemodialysis, quality of life, CKD

ABSTRACT Cancer is one of the main causes of morbidity (conditions that change quality of life and health) and mortality (death). The highest prevalence of cancer in children is blood cancer (Leukemia). One of the factors that affect a person's quality of life is overprotective, related to the behavior undertaken by a person. The aim of this study was to determine the correlation overprotective behavior of parents to the quality of life of children with Acute Lympoblastic Leukimia. The study was conducted on 30  respondents in Poly Oncology Seruni RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province taken with purposive sampling technique. This stdy is quantitative with correlation design using cross sectional approach. The results showed that most parents have overprotective behavior as many as 18 people (60,0%), most children have poor quality of life as many as 18 people (60,0%). Based on chi square statistic test found that p value 0,024 (<0,05) that means there is correlation between overprotective behavior of parent to quality of life of child with Acute Lympoblastic Leukimia. The suggestion for further research to develop more about the correlation of support systems to the quality of life of children.   Keywords         : Overprotective behavior of parents, quality of life of children, acute lymphoblastic leukimia

Introduction: Hypertension is a degenerative disease that causes changes in the elderly so it will affect the quality of life of the elderly. One effort to improve the health status and quality of life of the elderly is maintaining health conditions with activities. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of physical activity and the quality of life of elderly patients with hypertension in the working area of the Hambawang Beach Health Center. Method: This study used correlation with the cross sectional design approach. Respondents numbered 56 elderly taken in total sampling. The research instruments were PASE questionnaire and WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Data analysis used chi square test. Results:There was a relationship of physical activity with the quality of life of elderly people with hypertension (p = 0,000). Odds Ratio value of 49,5 means that elderly who have less physical activity are 49,5 times more likely to have a poor quality of life of the elderly compared to good physical activity of the elderly. Discussion: Good physical activity can improve the quality of life of the elderly. It was recommended to the elderly to do physical activities such as walking and doing sports.

People's perception of HIV / AIDS is transmitted through sexual relations that are considered immoral and embarrassing tends to discriminate against PLWHA. This negative stigma can indirectly reduce the quality of life of PLWHA. The low quality of life of PLWHA can affect their health. But in the end, all sufferers accept their condition as sufferers of HIV / AIDS by returning the problem to God. The spiritual role is very important in the process of acceptance because it has a positive influence marked by a reduction in depression, an improvement in the quality of life, a reduction in the fear of facing death, and a growing spirit of survival. This research method was observational analytic with a cross-sectional approach which was conducted at the Angel Heart Foundation in Batam City in 2018. The population in this study was people with HIV / AIDS at the Angel Heart Foundation in Batam City in 2018, amounting to 50 people, using retrieval techniques total sampling. The statistical test used was the chi-square test using a 95% significance level. 50 respondents, of which 30 respondents with a less spiritual level with a classification of 27 respondents (90.0%) had poor quality of life, and 3 respondents (10.0%) had a good quality of life. Meanwhile, 20 respondents with a good spiritual level with a classification of 1 respondent (5.0%) had poor quality of life and 19 respondents (95.0%) had a good quality of life. Statistical test results with chi-square obtained p-value = 0.00 <0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. There is a relationship between Spiritual Level and Quality of Life of People with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA) at Angel Heart Foundation Batam City in 2018.

Patients with heart failure already have problems that will affect the quality of life, one of which can be influenced by family support. This study aims to determine the relationship of family support with quality of life in patients with congestive heart failure in H. Andi Sulthan Daeng Radja Hospital Bulukumba District. This study is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling was done by consecutive sampling technique. The population in this study were 144 patients with congestive heart failure at H. Andi Sulthan Daeng Radja Regional General Hospital. The sample in this study were 48 people. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire. Data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results of the study showed that from 21 respondents who received good family support there were 16 (57.14) whose quality of life was poor and 5 (25%) of good quality. And from 27 respondents who received family support in the poor category, there were 12 (42.85%) of poor quality of life, and 15 (75%) of good quality. Based on the results of the analysis of family support with quality of life using the Chi-Square statistical test obtained p = <0.027 <0.5 indicates that there is a relationship between family support and quality of life in congestive heart failure patients at H. Andi Sulthan Daeng Radja Hospital Bulukumba District.
