The aimed of this study was to analyze the effect of lecturer’s competencies and learning environment on students’ motivation in learning English. This study used a verification method which used explanatory survey and correlation analysis with saturation sampling technique.  The population of the study was the students of the social and political faculty at Universitas Pancasakti Tegal which amounts to 91 students. Primary data collection was done through the questionnaire which was distributed to respondents in this study. Data was analyzed through descriptive analysis, classical assumption test, and multiple regressions. The result of the simultaneous test indicated there was the significant effect of lecturer’s competence, learning environment and student’s motivation in learning English. Lecturer’s competence according to respondents was high, but the lecturers should always improve their pedagogic, personality, social and professional competencies. The university should provide a conducive learning environment and adequate teaching and learning facilities.

This study is aimed to investigate students’ levels of engagement in learning English literature for traditional learning and virtual learning environment. There are four dimensions of engagement that were studied, which are the cognitive, behavioural, emotional and agentic engagement. A self-determination theory perspective on student engagement by Reeve (2012) was used for the foundation of this study. A questionnaire of School Engagement Measure was used to collect data from 80 respondents. The data were analysed using descriptive analysis utilizing the SPSS software. The results of this study show that the engagement level of the virtual learning environment is higher than the engagement level of the traditional learning. Based on the results, further research is recommended to focus on the effectiveness of virtual learning environment in the classroom for the teaching and learning process.

Private Universities in Nigeria have a relentless goal of keeping their procurement cost down as most of them depend solely on tution fees. In the past, companies would mostly look to make cost-savings from headcount reductions or internal re-organisation. Now they are increasingly turning to procurement and strategic sourcing as a means for cost reduction in procurement. The study examined the impact of effective negotiation in realization of procurement goals in Redeemer’s University. The research was conducted through the use of self-administered questionnaire to obtain primary data. The study had sample size of 206. Purposive sampling technique was used to select respondents that are involved in procurement for the University for the Study. Descriptive analysis and linear regression analysis were used in analyzing the obtained data. The results indicated that effective negotiation is a strong procurement strategy in Redeemer’s University and has a significant impact in realization of procurement goals. The study concluded that Redeemer’s University procurement goals are realizable with effective negotiation strategy.

Background: Mobile learning (m-learning) has been recognised as an essential educational technology component in higher education. The use of mobile devices and the prospect to learn irrespective of time and place make mobile learning an important tool for students. Many studies have been conducted because of the importance of m-learning in advancing teaching and learning but few published scholarly studies have focused on perception and mobile self-efficacy.Objectives: The study’s objective is to assess students’ perception and self-efficacy towards mobile learning at the University of Zululand.Method: The study adopted a descriptive survey method and a stratified random sampling technique was used to select 200 undergraduate students from the four faculties for the study. Data were collected using questionnaire. Statistical tools such as frequency count and simple percentage were employed in analysing the collected data.Results: WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube are the top three social media applications mostly used by the students. Results showed that the students have positive perceptions towards m-learning and possess the confidence needed in using m-learning solutions.Conclusion: Perception and mobile self-efficacy towards m-learning technology are important factors that help in determining whether or not students are ready to use m-learning. Hence, this study focuses on investigating the perception and self-efficacy of undergraduate students at the University of Zululand towards m-learning. Therefore, the study concludes that the University management fully integrates m-learning solutions to its academic programmes to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.

<p class="apa">The study examined ‘Students’ Involvement in Social Networking and attitudes towards its Integration into Teaching. The study was carried out in the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The population of the study consisted of 17,618 undergraduate students enrolled into full time degree programmes in the University of Uyo for 2014/2015 academic session. The design of the study was survey design with ex-post facto approach. Random sampling technique was used to select 1730 students from the 12 faculties in the University. The instrument used for the study was ‘Students’ Social Networking and Attitude Questionnaire which was validated by an expert in curriculum studies and an expert in measurement and evaluation in the University of Uyo. Cronbach’s Alpha Statistical method was used to determine the reliability coefficient of .70 for the instrument. Two research questions and two null hypotheses tested at .05 level of significance guided the study. Mean and Standard Deviation were used to answer research questions; Independent t-test and Analysis of Variance were used to test the hypotheses. The results show that there is significant difference in involvement of university undergraduate students in Social Networking based on course of study, level (year) of study and age. Female undergraduate students’ involvement in social networking is higher than that of their male counterparts; but male undergraduate students showed a higher positive attitude towards integration of social networking into teaching and learning.</p>

This study aims to analyze the factors forming the marketing mix at BNI Syariah customers in Padang Branch. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The population of this research is customers of Islamic banks in the city of Padang with a sample of 100 customers obtained using Slovin formula. The sampling technique is accidental sampling. Research data are primary data collected by questionnaire. Instrument testing uses validity and reliability tests. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and factor analysis. The results of the study showed that of the eight factors there were six factors that influence the form of the marketing mix for customers of the BNI Syariah branch of Padang Branch.Keyword: Marketing Mix

Pemimpin menjadi ujung tombak yang menentukan keberhasilan suatu organisasi. Begitu pula yang terjadi dalam pendidikan tinggi. PTS sebagai sarana meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dihadapkan kepada persaingan yang lebih ketat diantara PTS dan PTN. Hal tersebut menyebabkan PTS perlu mengadopsi strategi pemasaran yang digunakan dalam industri non pendidikan. Salah satu unsur dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, selain pimpinan adalah kinerja dosen, untuk dapat menjamin terjadinya penguasaan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi maka tingkat keprofesionalan kinerja dosen harus ditingkatkan pula. Pengelola PTS harus mulai menjalankan kegiatan operasionalnya dengan berorientasi pada mutu kinerja PTS yang ditunjang dengan kepemimpinan yang efektif, dan kinerja dosen, sehingga mereka dapat memenangkan persaingan atau paling tidak bertahan dalam menghadapi persaingan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh antara efektifitas kepemimpinan dan kinerja Dosen dalam peningkatan Mutu terhadap Strategi Pemasaran PT. Data terdiri dari data primer dan data sekunder. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei di Perguruan Tinggi X dengan sampel 22 responden. Analisis Data menggunakan Analsis Deskriptif dan Regresi Linier. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan Efektifitas Kepemimpinan dan Kinerja Dosen mempunyai pengaruh dengan tingkat Signifikansi 0,013 dan 0,043. Faktor yang paling besar pengaruhnya terhadap Peningkatan Mutu PT adalah Efektifitas Pimpinan.  Hasil penelitian ini sesuai dengan kondisi yang terjadi di Perguruan Tinggi X yang resmi diakuisisi oleh Universitas Y dan menjadi Fakultas Kesehatan Universitas Y.  Private University as a means of improving the quality of human resources is faced with tighter competition between Private University and Public University. This causes Pruvate University to adopt a marketing strategy used in non-education industries. One of the elements in improving the quality of education, in addition to the leadership is the performance of lecturers, to be able to guarantee the mastery of science and technology then the level of professional performance of lecturers should be improved as well. Private University Manager must start their operational activities with the quality which oriented performance of Private University which is supported by effective leadership, and the performance of lecturers, so that they can win the competition or at least survive in Against competition.  This study aims to analyze the effect of leadership effectiveness and the performance of lecturers in improving the quality of the Marketing Strategy of  University. Data consists of primary data and secondary data. The study was conducted in May at University X with a sample of 22 respondents. Data Analysis using Descriptive Analysis and Linear Regression. The results is Effectiveness of Leadership and Lecturer Performance has an influence with a significance level of 0.013 and 0.043. The most influential factor on University Quality Improvement is Leadership Effectiveness. The results of this study are in accordance with the conditions that occurred in the University X which was officially acquired by the University Y as the Univerity Y at Health Faculty.

This study aims to determine the perception of consumers of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) gas in Bima City. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. In this study the data used are primary data obtained from consumer LPG user questionnaires in the Bima City. Data were analyzed using univariable one-sample t-test analysis. The instrument was obtained from a questionnaire (questionnaire) that would be distributed and answered by LPG consumer users in the form of Likert scale questions. The population in this study is LPG consumer consumers in the City of Bima. The sample used is calculated using the formula Unknown Populations and the number of samples obtained is 96 consumers. As for the sampling technique using the accidental sampling method. After processing data using several statistical tools such as average values and descriptive analysis, the results of this study are the perceptions of LPG users who on average give good answers. LPG users state that the use of gas is more profitable than kerosene, in terms of cost being more economical, the cooking process is also faster and cleaner and there is no compulsion and receiving gas as a substitute for kerosene.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of human capital and organizational learning on company performance which is mediated by organizational competence. This research uses quantitative research with descriptive analysis approach. The population in this study were 75 respondents, each of whom worked for 3 MSMEs in the city of Jakarta. The sampling technique used is a saturated sample. The types of data in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, in-depth interviews and questionnaires. The analysis technique is carried out with two main parts, namely the measurement model and the structural model. Based on the results of research data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) Human Capital has a positive and significant effect on organizational competency with a t-statistic value of 5.176; 2) Organizational Learning has a positive and significant effect on organizational competency with a t-statistic value of 4.786; 3) Human Capital has a positive and significant effect on Company Performance mediated by organizational competence with a t-statistic value of 5.387; 4) Organizational Learning has a positive and significant effect on Company Performance mediated by organizational competence with a t-statistic value of 3.175; and 5) Organizational Competency does not directly affect the Company's Performance with a t-statistic value of 1.571.

This study aims to examine the factors that drive student creativity, identify key factors and look at differences in creativity factors for male and female students. A total of 119 respondents from one polytechnic in the southern zone were involved in this study. The study data were obtained from the administered questionnaire and the Cronbach Alpha value obtained was α = 0.873 and then analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis of student gender was seen using frequency and percentage while inference analysis using t-test at a significant level 0.05 was used to see the difference in creativity factors between genders. The results of the study found that the main factor that motivates student creativity is the knowledge factor with a mean value of 4.3025. In addition, studies also show that there is no difference in creativity factors between male and female students except for the knowledge factor. It is also hoped that this finding will provide an opportunity for lecturers to continue to strive and give encouragement during the teaching and learning process so that students' creativity can be highlighted through the factors that have been mentioned. Keywords: Creativity, Creative Thinking, Higher Education, Polytechnic, Students   Abstrak: Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji faktor-faktor yang mendorong kreativiti pelajar, mengenalpasti faktor utama dan melihat perbezaan faktor kreativiti bagi pelajar lelaki dan perempuan. Seramai 119 responden telah terlibat dalam kajian ini yang merupakan pelajar di sebuah politeknik di zon selatan. Data kajian diperoleh daripada soal selidik yang telah ditabdir dan nilai Cronbach Alpha yang diperolehi ialah α = 0.873 dan seterunsya dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensi. Analisis deskriptif mengenai jantina pelajar dilihat dengan menggunakan frekuensi dan peratusan manakala analisis inferensi menggunakan ujian t pada aras signifikan 0.05 digunakan untuk melihat perbezaan faktor kreativiti antara jantina. Hasil kajian mendapati faktor utama yang mendorong kreativiti pelajar ialah faktor ilmu pengetahuan dengan nilai min 4.3025. Melalui kajian ini juga diharap dapat memberikan peluang kepada pensyarah untuk terus berusaha dan memberi galakan semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran agar kreativiti pelajar dapat diserlahkan dan ditonjolkan lagi melalui faktor yang telah disebutkan. <p>PT Trubus Mitra Swadaya is a company engaged in the agribusiness industry that sells a wide range of agricultural goods. The development of the agribusiness industry, particularly agricultural stores are now increasing to fiercer competition. The objectives of this research were (1) Identify the level of knowledge management at PT Trubus Mitra Swadaya, (2) Identify the level of the activities associated with knowledge management at PT Trubus Mitra Swadaya, and (3) Analyzing the perceptions of employees regarding the application of knowledge management at PT Trubus Mitra Swadaya. The data that used in this research were primary data and secondary data. Collecting the respondences was done by quota sampling technique, database examine was done by descriptive analysis, average value calculation analysis, and chi-square analysis.<br />The result of average value calculation analysis showed level implementation of knowledge management was excellent (67,01%), represented from strongly agree answered 20,75% and agree answered 46,26%. Moreover, employees said bad, represented from less agree answered 19,97% and disagree 13,02%. In this research, found at least two components which employees feel valued and still yet to be repaired, that was 1) knowledge and 2) work time. The result average value calculation showed level of activity associated with knowledge management was less good (42,78%), represented five to ten times answered 22,78% and more than ten times 20%. Moreover, employees answered never 30% and less than five times 20%. The result chi-square showed employees’ perception about knowledge management based on employee characteristics where the majority of employees agreeing with the implementation of knowledge management.</p>
