Shared transportation, directly corresponding to research on the sharing economy, is an important issue, directly linked with the issue of city transport, as well as that of alternative transport when analysed from a broader perspective. Forms of alternative city transport may be classified into two basic groups, different in terms of the manner in which they use their shared vehicles. It is either ride-sourcing or vehicle-sourcing (further broken down to car-sharing, bike-sharing and scooter-sharing). All the above-specified forms require access to a mobile app or a website and, consequently, some Internet and app-using skills, so it is obvious that they are predominantly used by young people. The fact prompted the author to research consumer behaviour in the sharing economy area among young people, who are regular users of the public transport available in Krakow. The research was conducted on a group of 96 respondents using qualitative method (FGI). The objective of the research was to identify the factors which determine some specific mobile behaviours in young adults in the area of alternative forms of the public transport, as well as identification of these forms of transport which are preferred and most popular among users. With all certainty, alternative forms of transport represent an attractive transportation offer addressed to young people, complementing the city transport system. Young people pointed to the particular importance of hedonistic factors prevailing n their choices, as they particularly appreciated reaching their destination in a fast, pleasant and comfortable anner, as well as the feeling of independence and freedom. However, alternative transport was certainly not hosen for reasons related to the environmental protection or economic aspects.

The study aims to show that the public transport sector in Abidjan, constitutes a pool of jobs likely to allow the social integration of young people at risk of committing crimes and offenses. To achieve this goal, 207 people were interviewed empirically from a judgment sample through municipalities in the city of Abidjan. The data collected were analysed and processed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the survey reveal that the Abidjan public transport environment, essentially perceived as a niche for the development of urban insecurity, enables the social integration of many young people at risk by the opportunities for economic activities that are available to them without qualification.

This paper results from the research on the (im)possibilities of rural school regarding the promotion of agricultural familiar succession in the city of Barra Bonita (SC/Brazil). The research sought to understand if the public policies related to rural education promote the permanence/succession of young people in country properties. It is a qualitative research of bibliographical character, assuming a dialectic and critical orientation. The paper is organized in two parts: the first one focuses on the conceptual notion of rural education, approaching agricultural schools and the public policies created for this context. The second one reflects on the (im)possibilities of rural schools regarding contributions to familiar permanence/succession. It is anticipated that public policies and actions addressed to young people in the countryside are fragile when it comes to promoting the succession and the permanence of these young adults in the country properties from the city of Barra Bonita (SC). In addition, the paper highlights the need for creating public policies for young people that are coherent with the Brazilian diversity, in a way that they can provide incentive, human development and generation of income for the ones who want to live in the countryside.

The book superstore is promoted not just as a place to buy books but also as a community resource in which to read, learn and socialise: traits that have in combination traditionally been the preserve of the public library. This study investigates the impact of the bookstore environment on public library space. The attitudes and behaviours of library and bookstore users were examined through focus group interviews and a self-completed questionnaire. Clear areas of overlap in the functions of the two sites were found, as was evidence of age and income-related splits in use and perception of bookstores and libraries. Results suggest attention should be paid to the beliefs and behaviours of young people and middle-income earners (the groups most noticeably increasing their use of the bookstore) and to the desired balance of education and recreation in the image and nature of the public library.

O  presente artigo articula dois fenômenos aparentemente  distintos, o Urbicídio e o Juvenicídio, enquanto expressões da crise estrutural do capital., que se agrava no Brasil e nos demais países dependentes no atual quadro. A cidade é palco de um modelo neoliberal que segrega a classe trabalhadora dos direitos acessados nos grandes centros urbanos, sendo as periferias desprovidas de equipamentos públicos. As juventudes, mesmo que legalmente reconhecidas comosujeito de direitos, são vítimas da  ausência  de políticas sociais, principalmente nas periferias, territórios violados pelo Estado Penal. As políticas públicas até então constituídas promovem ações limitadas focadas no recrutamento de jovens no mercado de trabalho desassociadas de políticas públicas de proteção social básica, cada vez mais precarizadas. No entanto, as juventudes, plenas de potencialidades, podem protagonizar movimentos de resistência a este projeto societário, que exclui, encarcera e mata.Palavras-Chave: Juventudes, Território, Juvenicídio, Urbicídio THE TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN: Urbicide and Youthicide in Brasilian Reality.Abstract: The present article discuss two apparently distinct phenomena, Urbicide and Youthicide, as expressions of the structural crisis of capital, which is aggravated in Brazil and in the other dependent countries in the present conjuncture. The city is the stage of a neoliberal model that segregates the  working class, without right to the city  and  the social services.The youth, even if legally recognized as subject of rights, are victims of the absence of social policies, mainly in the peripheries, territories violated by the Criminal State. The public policies e promote limited actions focused on the recruitment of young people in the labor market disassociated with public policies of basic social protection, increasingly precarized. Abstract In this article the authors present the methodology adopted and the results obtained in the first stage of the research encompassing focus group interviews (FGI) about the needs of public transport users in a selected city (Poznań). The elicitation and assessment of the requirements were carried out for three groups of people with disabilities using public transport in the city of Poznań: blind and partially sighted people, deaf and hearing-impaired people, as well as people with locomotor dysfunctions. A study carried out on the basis of a scenario especially designed for the FGI purpose has made it possible to identify barriers for people with disabilities and, consequently, to formulate their pre-trip,on-trip and post-trip requirements when it comes to urban public transport services. The results will be used to construct a questionnaire to be used further on in the project.

The paper presents a detailed analysis of the market development stages of public transport bus services. Establishment of a new management model on the urban ground public transport entails a need to create a competitive market, through effective distribution of the city route network. As part of this goal we propose the route grouping method based on weighted average profitability and investigate some Moscow route network. The analysis and classification of these routes can determine the degree of variation in the route profitability. Drawing on the data obtained, we offer certain conclusions concerning the feasibility of a more detailed diversification of route portfolio followed by its further distribution among passenger carriers on regular urban bus routes.

Increasing the number of population every year in the city of Malang makes the increase also the number of private vehicle users who trigger the occurrence of congestion and lack of public interest to ride public transport, especially in terms of operation and service of public transportation. The main purpose of the research is to explore factors causing the decrease of public transport passengers for LDG route. The research used Importance Performance Analysis. The results showed that the main factors causing the decrease of the number of passengers on the LDG route in Malang City based on the public perception such as driver behavior, the condition of the transport (inside and outside), transportation hygiene, the availability of place to put luggage, the availability of seating, the availability of route / route information LDG transport, duration of stop transportation time at the terminal, and length of travel time.

Many cities have already installed bike-sharing systems for several years now, but especially in recent years with the rise of micro-mobility, many efforts are being made worldwide to improve the operation of these systems. Technology has an essential role to play in the success of micro-mobility schemes, including bike-sharing systems. In this paper, it is examined if a state-of-the-art mobile application (app) can contribute to increasing the usage levels of such a system. It is also seeking to identify groups of travelers, who are more likely to be affected by the sophisticated app. With this aim, a questionnaire survey was designed and addressed to the users of the bike-sharing system of the city of Thessaloniki, Greece, as well as to other residents of the city. Through a descriptive analysis, the most useful services that an app can provide are identified. Most importantly, two different types of predictive models (i.e., classification tree and binary logit model) were applied in order to identify groups of users who are more likely to shift to or to use the bike-sharing system due to the sophisticated app. The results of the two predictive models confirm that people of younger ages and those who are not currently users of the system are those most likely to be attracted to the system due to such an app. Other factors, such as car usage frequency, education, and income also appeared to have slight impact on travelers’ intention to use the system more often due to the app.

Over the last three years, the dockless bike sharing scheme has become prevalent in the context of the boom in the sharing economy, the wide use of mobile online payment, the increasing environmental awareness and the inherent market demand. This research takes Beijing as a case study, investigates the users’ characteristics, their behaviour change, and perceptions of dockless bike sharing scheme by the quantitative survey, and then analyzes the reasons behind it and how it has changed the residents’ life in Beijing. This new kind of dockless shared bikes, with great advantages of accessibility, flexibility, efficiency and affordability, helps to solve the ‘last mile’ problem, reduce the travel time, and seems to be very environmentally-friendly and sustainable. However, with the help of interview and document analysis, this research finds that the shared bikes are not the effective alternative for the frequent car-users. Nevertheless, it also has numerous negative consequences such as ‘zombie’ bikes blocking the sidewalks and vandalism to the bikes. The public is also worried about their quality and safety, especially the issues of ‘right of way’. How to coordinate and solve these problems is not only related to the future direction of the dockless bike sharing scheme but also to the vital interests of the general public. Therefore, it is important to emphasize that governments, enterprises, and the public participate in multi-party cooperation and build synergic governance networks to carry forward the advantages and avoid the negative effects of the new bike sharing system.

The basic tasks of the public public transport operator include reliable and safe transport services under the concluded transport contract with the transport organizer. The entity acting as the operator is obliged to punctually adhere to timetables, it is possible provided that the operator has a rolling stock characterized by a high level of readiness for rolling stock. The paper attempts to assess the readiness of the public transport operator performing tasks in the city and the adjacent area with a total number of residents not exceeding one hundred thousand.
