MINERAL COMPOSITION AND SAFETY INDICATORS OF APPLES OF VARIOUS VARIETIES GROWN IN SOUTHERN KAZAKHSTAN

Фруктовые снеки получили широкое распространение на потребительском рынке зарубежных стран в связи с высокими диетическими и вкусовыми свойствами и отсутствием ограничений в употреблении для всех возрастных групп населения. В ассортименте фруктовых снеков наиболее распространены яблочные чипсы, что обусловлено доступностью сырья практически во всех регионах мира. Фруктовые чипсы являются хорошей альтернативой картофельным, так как содержат витамины и микроэлементы природного характера. При разработке технологии производства яблочных чипсов для получения качественного и безопасного продукта необходимо качественное и безопасное сырье. Исследованы минеральный состав и показатели безопасности яблок сортов Айдаред, Гренни Смит, Николь гренни, Фуджи и Голден, выращенных в фермерском хозяйстве Dala-fruit.kz. Минеральный состав определяли рентгеноспектральным методом на растровом электронном микроскопе по методике ГОСТ ISO 2173–2013. Содержание пестицидов (ГХЦГ (α-, β- и λ-изомеры), ДДТ и его метаболиты) в плодах определяли согласно СТ РК 2011–2010. Установлено, что яблоки всех исследованных сортов имеют богатый минеральный состав и в зависимости от сорта содержат, мг %: калия 40,16–46,3; кальция 2,1–3,7; магния 1,31–2,19; фосфора 2,1–3,7. По содержанию минеральных элементов наиболее богаты яблоки сорта Айдаред. Во всех образцах яблок отсутствуют пестициды, а содержание нитратов соответствует допустимому количеству. Следовательно, яблоки исследованных сортов можно применять в качестве сырья при производстве чипсов. Fruit snacks, due to their high dietary and taste properties and the absence of restrictions on consumption for all age groups of the population, have become widespread in the consumer market of foreign countries. Apple chips are the most common in the assortment of fruit snacks, due to the availability of raw materials in almost all regions of the world. Fruit chips are a good alternative to potato chips, as they contain vitamins and trace elements of a natural nature. When developing the technology for the production of apple chips, the raw materials were examined to obtain a high-quality and safe product. Mineral composition and safety indicators of apples of varieties – Aydared, Grenni Smit, Nicol grenni, Fudzhi and Golden, grown on a farm Dala-fruit.kz, investigated. The mineral composition was determined by the X-ray spectral method on a scanning electron microscope according to the GOST ISO 2173–2013 method. The content of pesticides in fruits is determined according to the ST RK 2011–2010. It was found that apples of all varieties have a rich mineral composition and, depending on the variety, contain, mg %: potassium 40,16–46,3; calcium 2,1–3,7; magnesium 1,31–2,19; phosphorus 2,1–3,7. Apples of the Aydared variety are the richest in the content of mineral elements. Pesticides are absent in all apple samples, and the nitrate content corresponds to the permissible amount. Consequently, apples of the studied varieties can be used as raw materials in the production of chips.

Целью данной работы являлось изучение минерального состава надземной части и корня растения Onosma gmelinii. Количественное содержание минеральных элементов определяли методом атомно-абсорбционной спектрометрии на базе Центра физико-химических методов исследования и анализа. Концентрацию тяжелых металлов в растительном сырье определяли в ТОО «Нутритест». В результате исследования установлено, что элементный состав растения Onosma gmelinii включают 9 элементов. Анализ тяжелых металлов свидетельствует об экологической безопасности растительного сырья. Полученные данные позволяют утверждать о наличии значительного количества важных минеральных веществ в растении и перспективности использования данного сырья в медицине The goal of this work was to study the mineral composition of the aerial part and root of the plant Onosma gmelinii. The quantitative content of mineral elements was determined by atomic absorption spectrometry at the Center of Physicochemical Methods of Research and Analysis. The concentration of heavy metals in the plant raw material was determined at Nutritest LLP. As a result of the study, it was found that the elemental composition of the Onosma gmelinii plant includes 9 elements. Analysis of heavy metals evidences the environmental safety of plant raw materials. The data obtained allow us to assert the presence of a significant amount of essential minerals in the plant and the prospects for the use of this raw material in the medical field.

Abstract. Hand adjustments of 6- and 10-month-old infants and adults were studied as they reach to grasp a rotating rod. It was found that the subjects in all three age groups adjusted the hand prospectively to the rotating rod during the approach of it. They also adjusted the reaches to the rotating rod in such a way that almost all of the grasps were overhand ones as predicted by the endpoint comfort hypothesis. Finally, it was found that the rotation of the hand was made up of movement units as translational movements are, and that the approach units were relatively independent of the rotational ones.

Spreads are used widely for making the fast foods more amazing and tasty. Varieties and cross combinations of ingredients are used to make many flavours of fast foods. Different restaurants prepare their signature spreads for attracting people but this can cause opposite result if not prepared using high quality raw materials and proper hygienic conditions are not maintained. Current study was conducted on ten different types of spreads (pesto, cilantro, queso, tomato sauce, peanut butter, honey, mustard, cream cheese, chocolate sauce and butter) which are used by the local restaurants in Dhaka city, Bangladesh. Almost all the samples (nine out of ten) harbored total viable bacteria exceeding the standard limit. Four spread samples showed high fungal count (102 cfu/gm). Four samples showed to be positive (˃101/ml recommended acceptable count) for Escherichia coli and Klebsiella spp. which indicates that these spread cannot be recommended for public consumption. Among all the samples examined, only chocolate sauce showed acceptable result without the presence of coliforms, Staphylococcus spp. and Pseudomonas spp. This finding suggests proper maintenance of sanitation in spread preparation and selling area. Various difficulties in learning English which have been an obstacle for almost all students, this should be avaluable lesson to spark new ideas in group learning implementation programs. To overcome the problem of thelow level of English learning outcomes of class VII students of Bangkinang State 2 Junior High School inKampar Regency, group learning is one good alternative. The study is a classroom action research conducted inBangkinang Kota 2 Public Middle School, Kampar district. The subjects of this study were seventh gradestudents. The results of the study obtained data on teacher activity in the first cycle of the first meeting with apercentage of 57%, the second meeting with a percentage of 66.5%, in the second cycle at the third meeting thepercentage was 83.5%, and at the fourth meeting percentage obtained 90.5%. The observation data of studentsin the first cycle of the 1st meeting was 51%, the second meeting was 62.5%, in the second cycle the thirdmeeting was 80%, and the fourth meeting was 88%. Data on the improvement of learning outcomes in the initialdata obtained an average of 63, in daily I repetition of 75, and in the second daily test of 88.

In this chapter, we analyse how former healthcare monopolies run by counties were abolished so that all healthcare centres that meet basic medical requirements are allowed to compete for patients, who are free to choose their provider. We use theories from the field of marketing for analysing this reorganization and demonstrate that it can be seen as the creation of a new consumer market or a reorganization of the counties; it is equally accurate to describe the result as an organized market or a marketized organization. We argue that terms such as ‘quasi-markets’ and ‘quasi-organization’ are misleading, as they are based on the assumption that markets and organizations are pure and distinct opposites. Rather, we argue that almost all markets are more or less organized and that many organizations are more or less marketized.

Abstract Purpose Collective evidence from single-centre studies suggests an increasing incidence of pilonidal sinus disease in the last decades, but population-based data is scarce. Methods We analysed administrative case–based principal diagnoses of pilonidal sinus disease and its surgical therapy between 2005 and 2017 in inpatients. Changes were addressed via linear regression. Results The mean rate of inpatient episodes of pilonidal sinus disease per 100,000 men increased from 43 in 2005 to 56 in 2017. In females, the mean rate of inpatient episodes per 100,000 women rose from 14 in 2005 to 18 in 2017. In the whole population, for every case per 100,000 females, there were 3.1 cases per 100,000 males, but the numbers were highly variable between the age groups. There was considerable regional variation within Germany. Rates of inpatient episodes of pilonidal sinus disease were increasing in almost all age groups and both sexes by almost a third. Surgery was dominated by excision of pilonidal sinus without reconstructive procedures, such as flaps, whose share was around 13% of all procedures, despite recommendations of the national guidelines to prefer flap procedures. Conclusion Rates of inpatient episodes of pilonidal sinus disease in Germany rose across almost all age groups and both sexes with relevant regional variation. The underlying causative factors are unknown. Thus, patient-centred research is necessary to explore them. This should also take cases into account that are solely treated office-based in order to obtain a full-spectrum view of pilonidal sinus disease incidence rates.

Background: Varicella is a well-known infectious disease that can have severe complications, also in young children. The Universal Varicella Vaccination (UVV) program was introduced in Tuscany (Italy) in 2003, with a two-dose vaccine schedule given to children between their 13th and 15th month, and at 5–6 years old, as a monovalent for varicella (V) or tetravalent (measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV)) formulation. Although varicella notifications have dramatically fallen in the last two decades, varicella disease underreporting remains a challenge. Methods: A qualitative immunoenzymatic test (ELISA) was used to measure the presence of anti-varicella antibodies in 165 sera of subjects aged 1–18 years residing in the province of Florence (Italy). Information regarding the anamnestic and vaccination status (including disease notification) was also collected. Results: Our study showed an overall varicella seropositivity of 75.8% (reaching the maximum at 96.3% in the 15–18 years age group). We found that varicella disease notification had been recorded for only 7/165 subjects; however, since 42/165 recalled having had the disease, we can hypothesize that some of them must have been underreported. Furthermore, our study showed that the presence of antibodies after the varicella vaccination remained over time, lasting up to 12 years. Conclusions: Although varicella seroprevalence is <95% in almost all our age groups (except for the 15–18 years age group), our data are encouraging and reflect the success of the introduction of the UVV program and the vaccination campaigns promoted in the Tuscany region.

This study was conducted to investigate the deposition of several mineral elements and the mRNA levels of mineral-related genes across different tissues of cherry valley ducks. The contents of magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), zinc (Zn), and selenium (Se) in ducks’ breast muscle, thigh muscle, liver, skin, and tibia at the age of 0, 21, 35, 49, and 63 days, respectively, were measured using an atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer, while the mRNA levels of mineral-related genes were detected by qRT-PCR. The results revealed that the dynamics of Mg and K were generally similar in each tissue, with a significant positive correlation (p < 0.05). In the breast muscle, thigh muscle, and liver, the contents of almost all mineral elements reached their peak values (p < 0.05) at the age of 49 to 63 days. Interestingly, the expression of most mineral-related genes was the highest at birth (p < 0.05). In addition, there was a significant negative correlation between the expression of ATP1A1 and the deposition of K (r = −0.957, p < 0.05), and a similar result was found for the expression of ATP8 and the deposition of Zn (r = −0.905, p < 0.05). Taken together, Mg and K could be used as joint indicators for the precise breeding of the high-quality strain of cherry valley ducks, while the age of 49 to 63 days could be used as the reference for the best marketing age. In addition, ATP1A1 and ATP8 could be used as the key genes to detect K and Zn, respectively. Hence, the findings of this study can be used to improve the production and breeding efficiency of high-quality meat ducks.

Bacterial strains become resistant to almost all classes of antibiotics, which makes it necessary to look for new substitutes. The non-absorbable ciprofloxacin–biguanide bismuth complex, used locally, may be a good alternative to a conventional therapy. The purpose of this study was to study the structure of the proposed ciprofloxacin (CIP) -bismuth(III)—chlorhexidine (CHX) composite (CIP-Bi-CHX). The spectroscopic techniques such as UV-VIS (ultraviolet-visible) spectroscopy, FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared) spectroscopy and NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopy were used for structure characterization of the hybrid compound. The performed analysis confirmed the presence of the two active components—CIP and CHX and revealed the possible coordination sites of the ligands with bismuth ion in the metallo-organic structure. Spectroscopic study showed that the complexation between Bi(III) and CIP occurs through the carboxylate and ketone groups of the quinolone ring, while CHX combines with the central ion via the biguanide moieties.

Background:The 2016 Swedish Report Card on Physical Activity (PA) for Children and Youth is a unique compilation of the existing physical and health related data in Sweden. The aim of this article is to summarize the procedure and results from the report card.Methods:Nationally representative surveys and individual studies published between 2005–2015 were included. Eleven PA and health indicators were graded using the Active Healthy Kids Canada grading system. Grades were assigned based on the percentage of children/youth meeting a defined benchmark (A: 81% to 100%, B: 61% to 80%, C: 41% to 60%, D: 21% to 40%, F: 0% to 20%, or incomplete (INC).Results:The assigned grades were Overall Physical Activity, D; Organized Sport Participation, B+; Active Play, INC; Active Transportation, C+; Sedentary Behaviors, C; Family and Peers, INC; School, C+; Community and the Built Environment, B; Government Strategies and Investments, B; Diet, C-; and Obesity, D.Conclusions:The included data provides some support that overall PA is too low and sedentary behavior is too high for almost all age groups in Sweden, even with the many national policies as well as an environment that is favorable to the promotion of PA.
