The relevance of the study of event approach is justified by its potential for training personalization, personal and professional development of students. The aim is to analyze the practice of event education at Volgograd State Medical University and Volgograd State Technical University. The classification of educational events is presented and levels of event education are highlighted. The aims, content and procedural aspects of approach are studied and characterized with an emphasis on personal and professional development of students. The experience of implementing event approach helped to distinguish and characterize the stages of educational events and effectively use the technologies for specialists’ training. The potential of educational, developmental and educational events for improvement of quasi-professional skills was substantiated. To get the instructors ready for implementation of these technologies, the event-based approach was introduced in educational process at levels of postgraduate education and continuing pedagogical training of university staff. The cooperation of students and instructors in the process of “living” in an educational event, as well as reflection, are considered as the means and goals of event education. The analysis of the trainees’ satisfaction showed that the event approach met the educational needs of attendees (students, graduate students and teachers). It also made the educational process personally and professionally significant. The findings can be used in the development of university curricula, as it personalizes the educational process due to event approach.

The rapid loss of health of the younger generations during school education makes it a pressing problem for students to maintain their health during the learning process. This problem is extremely important not only for the general education environment but also for institutions of higher and postgraduate education, since the safety of the educational process for the health of students depends first and foremost on the teacher. However, to date, the problem of student health technologies has not been sufficiently studied. In particular, there is no single approach to the name and overall classification of such technologies. The article analyzes the views of scientists on the nature of student health technologies. Based on this, the term "school technologies of preserving students' health" and a general classification of student health preservation technologies are proposed for use, which logically integrates existing semantic interpretations. We believe that it is appropriate to separate school technologies for preserving students' health into appropriate health (technologies implemented in the educational process without compromising the health of the subjects: taking into account individual, age, gender characteristics; ergonomic, technical, organizational norms educational process, etc.) and health-saving (technologies aimed at shaping students' competences in maintaining their own health and that of other people: fostering a culture of health, health of the same lifestyle, sanogenic thinking etc.). It is noted that the results of theoretical analysis of the problem of general classification of school technologies of preserving students' health actualize the problem of further detailed classification of these technologies and ways of their introduction in the educational process of general educational institutions.

The stages of the Department of socially significant infections formation, starting from the training course for laboratory diagnosis of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) at the Department of Infectious Diseases, scientific, educational and practical association «AIDS and AIDS-defining illnesses» at the Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (nowadays - Northwest Medical University), approved by the order of Healthcare ministry of USSR №467 in 1987, which in 1992 came under the jurisdiction of Russia, headed by Professor A.G. Rakhmanova, up to creating the Department of the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University. In the late 90s and early this century, Department of Infectious Diseases with the course of the AIDS laboratory diagnosis was virtually the only one in the country for training on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, its laboratory diagnostics and other related diseases. As a result of scientific, educational and practical association «AIDS and AIDS-defining illness» activity, for over 20 years scientific staff was trained on HIV Medicine and associated socially significant infections. As a part of that effort, more than 25 doctors of science and 60 PhDs who are currently teaching HIV medicine and associated co-infections: chronic viral hepatitides, tuberculosis, herpes and other diseases in Russia and countries of the former post-Soviet space, were trained. The next step was the establishment of «HIV Medicine» course in 2009 in the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University, and later in 2013 - creation of an independent Department of socially significant diseases.
