The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of the family business, internal strategic factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external (opportunities and threats) of the family business. This study analyzes various strategic alternatives that will be selected as a family business development strategy, then to determine the main strategies that can be implemented. ess by compiling a strategic business plan, implement the cooperation with external parties in the form of training and assistance related to product quality improvement, product innovation, preparation of financial rep This research is a descriptive study with 43 respondents as the research object selected by purposive and convenience sampling technique. The analyzed data uses descriptively by IFE-EFE matrix analysis and the SWOT matrix. The results from this study show that the family business was in a growth strategy position. Business development was carried out by increasing the scale of the busin orts, processing business licenses, online marketing (digital marketing), preparation of credit proposals, build the relationships with suppliers and maintain well-established relationships with customers.

The main objective of this study is to analyze internal and external factors and recommend strategies for the development of betta fish cultivation. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method with case study techniques, while the selection of respondents uses a purposive sampling method through participatory observation with interviews based on questionnaires. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) and quantitative strategic planning matrix (QSPM) analysis techniques are carried out to plan the required management strategies. The results showed that the IFE matrix analysis had a total score of 3.159 and EFE 2.835. In the SWOT matrix, allocating the betta fish cultivation business is located in quadrant I which can be interpreted as an aggressive growth (growth-oriented strategy) and on profitable growth. QSPM analysis results obtained top priority is to improve the quality and number of betta fish produced with a STAS value of 5.749. Based on this top priority, it can be used as input and reference consideration in making policies on betta fish cultivation business which includes strategic factors in the long term.

ABSTRACTBusiness Development Strategy Certified Rice Seed On Subak Guama,Marga District, Tabanan RegencyThe increasing rate of population growth led to increased demand for food. Inorder to achieve food security, the use of certified seeds is one of the factors thatinfluence the improvement of yield and quality of production. Attempt to capturethese opportunities, Subak Guama need to make strategic business development ofcertified rice seed. The purpose of research is to investigate alternative strategiesand priorities appropriate strategies run by Subak Guama in the development ofcertified rice seed business.The research location was at Subak Guama. Respondents were selectedpurposively regarding their expertise and knowledge of the research. Primarydata were collected focus group discussions, surveys, and in-depth interviews.Secondary data were collected from publications. Formulation of alternativestrategies and priority strategies using SWOT matrix analysis and analysisQSPM.The results show alternative strategies of business development certifiedrice seed include: 1) expand market share in order to meet the potential needs ofseeds, 2) the formation of youth groups farmer, 3) improving the quality of humanresources, 4) empowerment of farmers through the capital strengthening farming5) integrated pest and disease control, and 6) optimization of the certified riceseed business. The result also shows that the priority strategy selected is capitalstrengthening farming.In supporting the development of business certified rice seed, members of SubakGuama is expected to strengthen the capital to apply for credit farming throughfinancial institutions/banks so as to increase production and develop productsseed varieties vary, increase access to a wider market so as to maintain its marketposition has been achieved, as well as more effective cooperation betweenfarmers with KUAT Subak Guama.Keywords: SWOT, QSPM, Rice Seed, Subak

The purpose of this study was to identify internal and external factors of SMEs of Junggo Village Goat, to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by Junggo Goat Village SMEs, to formulate a business development strategy that should be done of  SMEs of Goat Village Junggo . This research uses participatory action research (PAR) approach to data collection and processing. The data obtained in the form of primary data and secondary data. Based on the results of SWOT matrix analysis, there are several alternative strategies such as increasing the number of permanent customers, increasing sales capacity, increasing production capacity, promoting, performing financial and administration recording system, conducting market research and development, providing quality goats, increasing synergism and partnership, provide supplementary food and preventive medicine and conduct comparative studies.

Abstract Palm sugar is one of the primary commodities in agribusiness sector, that have a huge potential to be developed into an industry. The palm sugar industry has an important role in employment, income distribution, and improving the welfare of local communities. The problem in this research is how to develop the potential of small palm sugar industry in Lombo Village, Sidrap Districts. The purpose of this study is to identify external and internal factors, 2. Formulate the palm sugar industry development strategy. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The sampling method in this study used the accidental sampling method with a selected sample of 15 respondents. Data analysis was performed using SWOT matrix analysis. The conclusions obtained are based on matrix analysis of Internal Strategic Factors (IFAS) 2.9 and External Strategic Factors (EFAS) 2.4. This shows that the palm sugar industry in Lombo Village, Sidrap Districts has strengths that can be maintained or improved and have opportunities that can be developed. The development strategy that can be carried out is a strategy that supports aggressive growth. The advice given is to maintain the characteristic taste of the product and improve product quality by creating innovations in product packaging, diversifying product types so that they have high added value.

This article analisys tourism development strategy of Talaud regency, North Sulawesi Province. This regency has a great tourism potential but faces vaious problems. Its tourism potentials is evidenced from the diversity of the natural, culture, and man made tourism attractions. The great tourism potential has not been able to make Talaud widely known by tourists. As the outermost regions, the problems of accessibility are the main obstacles faced by the region of Talaud Islands. Other obstacles such as limited electricity and telecommunication access, and the lack of supporting facilities of tourism activities, have an impact, on the slow development of tourism potential in Talaud. Stages in the research were: described the potentials of tourism, then explained the obstacles that hinder the potential, and finally formulated strategies for the development of tourism potentials. SWOT matrix analysis is used to find the strategies to develop the tourism potential in Talaud. S-O strategy includes the development strategy of attraction. S-T strategy is the institutional strategy. W-O strategy includes the development strategy of public facilities and the supporting facilities at each tourist attraction. W-T strategy includes the making of programs intended for the community participation.

The issue of succession is important news if there is a generation that involved more than one man. Of course, the possibility of dispute occurs as a result of the difference in the perspective of the successor generation when running the business. The proposed research aims to demonstrate how the process of succession in the family business with Strategic Collaboration Models (SCM). This research includes descriptive qualitative research. The data will be collected with the interview and selection of informants using the purposive sampling technique. In this proposed research, the informants are the founder generation that including family business leaders and potential successor. The result of this research is expected to explain the process of succession through strategic collaboration model. Three phases need to be addressed when the process of succession already from input, process, and output. The input stage is more advancing in training, guidance and direction program for the successor generation. In the process, stages explain how the founder generation can identify the interest and talents of the successor generation. This case is aimed to know whether the business existence related to interest and talent for the successor generations. In output stage will explain how the founder generation and the successor ability to calculate about how much financing required to build a new business. In the family business allows a conflict, so it necessary anticipates with how about the existence of an agreement can separate the business from the founder generation with the business from the successor.

AbstractA number of family business researches affirm benefits of family involvement to the business while some of other studies assure only detriments of family involvement. When comparative studies of family businesses begin to surface on the family involvement in business, there is that irritating question on what effect is brought about by family involvement to the business. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore business advantages and disadvantages generated by family involvement in businesses in Sri Lanka. The present study attempted to address the above knowledge gap, using qualitative research approach and multiple case studies as the strategy of inquiry. Purposive sampling technique was used to select both cases and respondents. Privately held, successfully conducted four family businesses were selected as cases and, existing business owner and one family related manager from each case were taken as respondents. Data was collected mainly via semi-structured, in depth interviews, observations, and secondary documents. Data collection from interviews consisted of 15 interviews with 09 different people from four cases. Before the data analysis, coding and categorization of respondents’ views from interviews helped to identify common patterns and themes from both within the case and across cases. The analysis was carried out in the light of Agency Theory and resulted in a rich understanding of business advantages and disadvantages of family involvement in businesses in Sri Lanka. The findings of this study indicated that the agency cost is created not only on business matters but also on family matters. Further, findings revealed that agency benefit also can be obtained by family business by handling the family matters carefully in line with business matters. Findings of this study clearly indicated that an extension to Agency Theory is required to explain owner agent relationship in family businesses.

Family business (FB) in the food industry was very important. Capturing the Family Business Resilience in Traditional Food Sector in Surabaya was conducted from 2015 to 2016 by Petra Christian University, funded by UBCHEA. The purposes were to document the Family Business in traditional food sector in Surabaya and the types of business place of the family business. It was conducted with qualitative methods of: FB location mapping, students’ workshop, interview and photo documentation, video documentation, SWOT analysis, marketing and architectural design for traditional food vendors. FB in Traditional Food Sector in Surabaya were found interesting but less sustainable. The Business Principles, such as, hard work and humility were found central. They could be more sustainable with application of human resources development and professional management. Meanwhile attractive factors of the FBs were the food quality, human service and affordable food price. Several types of architecture typology were found: the restaurant, the legal eating place (warung) and the illegal street-hawker stall. The informal ones were found because of the behavior of Surabaya’s residents. Lastly, more business development strategies were needed, such as website marketing, collaboration with online marketing such as Go-Food and architectural rehabilitation.

This study aims to analyze the internal and external conditions as well as compose and recommend the business development strategy of agro-industries of Civet coffee at Satria agro- tourism in the Gianyar Regency. The methods used in this research is a method of observation field and in-depth interviews using questionnaire. Data field observations and interviews are then analyzed to obtain formulation strategies using the SWOT analysis. The assessment weighting and rating conducted by 5 experts. Results of the study show that there are 5 strengths, 5 weaknesses, 4 opportunities, and 3 threats. Results weighting and rating values for the matrix that the weighted Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) was 3.72 and matrix External Factor Evaluation (EFE) is 3.75. This value indicates a strong position on the matrix Internal external (IE) and the strategy to do is intensive and integrative strategies. Based on SWOT Matrix Analysis, priority alternative strategy is maintaining of price and quality to expand marketing. Keywords : strategy, SWOT, agro tourism, civet coffee, QSPM
