accelerates wound healing. We examined the effect of Ethanol Extract of Neem Leaf (EENL) inaccelerating wound healing and compared its potential with povidone iodine. This was ananalytic experimental study, using Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with a comparativemethod. We used 30 male Swiss Webster mice that were divided into five groups (n=6). Eachgroup was given the Ethanol Extract of Neem Leaf (EENL) with a concentration of 25%, 12.5%and 25%, aquades (negative control) and povidone iodine 10% (comparison). The averagewound healing time of EENL 25%, EENL 12.5% , EENL 6.25% , povidone iodine and aquadeswere 11.2; 12.2;13.2;13.2;and 1.3 days respectively. The data was analized with one wayANOVA and showed a highly significant difference of p=0.000. Tukey HSD test showed thatEENL 25% and 12.5% had better potential than povidone iodine 10% and EENL 6.25% had thesame potential with povidone iodine 10%. This study concludes that ethanol extract of neem leafhas an effect in accelerating the duration of wound healing, with EENL 25% as the bestconcentration in accelerating the duration of wound healing.Keywords: neem leaf, Azadirachta indica A. Jawa bark (Lannea coromandelica) is a part of the plant that can be used empirically for handling wounds. This study aims to determine the activity of ethanol extract of Jawa bark on healing wound and determine the effective dose compared with povidone iodine. The test animals used were white rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) consisting of 5 groups, namely negative control (vaseline without extract), positive control (povidone iodine), dose of 250 mg/kg BW, dose of 500 mg/kg BW, dose of 750 mg/kg BW. Each rat made an incision in the area parallel to the spine with 2 cm long and 2 mm deep. Measuring the length of the wound was done every day for 14 days. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using One Way Anova and followed by Post Hoc Duncan test. Statistical results showed that the ethanol extract of Jawa bark has an activity in curing slice where the effective dose is a dose of 500 mg/kg BW with a wound healing time of 12 days.

Background: A wound is an injury caused by a cut, blow, or any else that typically involves laceration. For the treatment of infections and promoting wound healing, povidone-iodine is usually used but sometimes it can lead to irritation. The researcher would like to develop Lansium domesticum Corr. (duku) seed extract ointment to promote wound healing. Materials and Methods: This experimental study was done on 30 rats which are divided into six groups namely negative control, positive control (povidone-iodine 10%), the experimental group with three different concentration of Lansium domesticum seed extract ointment (2.5%, 5%, and 10%) and followed for three days to assess wound size. Approval was acquired by the Research Ethics Committee of the Sriwijaya University Faculty of Medicine, Palembang, Indonesia. In vitro capacity of Lansium domesticum extract also assessed by measuring inhibitory diameter. Results: After three days of treatment, there is a significant difference in wound closure for all groups (p<0.05) except for the negative control group. The best wound closure was found in a 10% extract group with average wound size decreasing by 0.3 cm. For in vitro activity, only 10% Lansium domesticum seed extract ointment which is showing inhibitory zone at 3 mm of diameter. Conclusion: Lansium Domesticum Corr. seed extract ointment has the potency to promote wound healing on rats in addition to its small antimicrobial activity.

Muli banana peels contain flavonoids, saponins, and tannins that foster the process of wound healing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ethanol extract in muli banana peels (Musa acuminata) on cut wounds healing process in mice (Mus musculus). The study design was the completely randomized design by using 24 male mice which were divided into 6 groups, namely (K+, K-, P1, P2, P3, and P4). Each treatment consisted of 4 mice. All groups of mice were treated with a 1 cm cut wound on the back. The K+ group as the positive control group were applied with povidone-iodine, the K- group as the negative control group were applied with distilled water, the P1 group was applied with a concentration of 10% extract, the P2 group with 20% extract, the P3 group with 30% extract, and the P4 group with 40% extract for 14 days. On the 15th day, histological slides were made by taking 1 sample from each group. The results showed that the ethanol extract of muli banana peels played a role in the cut wound healing process. Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Etanol Kulit Buah Pisang Muli (Musa Acuminata) Terhadap Penyembuhan Luka Sayat Pada Mencit (Mus Musculus L.)Abstrak: Kulit buah pisang muli mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tanin yang memiliki peranan dalam proses penyembuhan luka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak etanol kulit buah pisang muli (Musa acuminata) terhadap proses penyembuhan luka sayat pada mencit (Mus musculus). Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap, menggunakan 24 ekor mencit jantan yang dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu (K+, K-, P1, P2, P3, P4) dengan masing- masing perlakuan terdiri dari 4 mencit. Semua kelompok mencit diberi perlakuan luka pada punggung sepanjang 1 cm. Kelompok K+ sebagai kontrol positif dioleskan povidone iodine, kelompok K- sebagai kontrol negatif dioleskan aquades, kelompok P1 dioleskan ekstrak konsentrasi 10%, kelompok P2 dioleskan ekstrak konsentrasi 20%, kelompok P3 dioleskan ekstrak konsentrasi 30%, dan kelompok P4 dioleskan ekstrak konsentrasi 40% selama 14 hari. Pembuatan preparat histologi dilakukan pada hari ke 15 dengan mengambil 1 sampel dari tiap kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak etanol kulit buah pisang muli berperan dalam proses penyembuhan luka sayat yang dilihat dari gambaran histologi lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok kontrol.

Wound is a very common thing that can happen to all people around the world. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of methanolic extract and powder of Kalanchoe pinnata (Lamk) leaf in ointment. The methodology is laboratoric experimental design. Six groups of mice (n=30) were incised for 8 mm and treated with different treatment: methanolic extract of Kalanchoe pinnata (Lamk) leaves in ointment (SEMDSB) 10%, SEMDSB 20%, Kalanchoe pinnata (Lamk) leaves powder in ointment (SSDSB) 10%, SSDSB 20%, vaseline album (ointment) as negative control, and povidone iodine ointment as positive control. Examination is carried out by measuring the width of wounds in mice every day until the wound interlocked. Data analysis used one way ANOVA continued by Tukey HSD with α=0,05. The result showed the average time for wound healing (in days) are: SEMDSB 10% (7.2), SEMDSB 20% (6.6), SSDSB 10% (8.8), SSDSB 20% (7.6), negative control (10.6), and positive control (7.8). SEMDSB 10%, SEMDSB 20%, and SSDSB 20% showed highly significant difference (p = 0,000) and SSDSB 10% showed significant difference (p=0,021) when compared to negative control. As conclusion, methanolic extract  and powder of Kalanchoe pinnata (Lamk) leaves in ointment can accelerate wound healing time. Keywords: ointment, Kalanchoe pinnata (Lamk), wound healing, mice

Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) has been known as traditional medicine. Shallot which has same genus with garlic(Allium sativum L.) contains allicin that is also found in garlic and has been suspected has fungicidal activity toCandida albicans. It is supported by several researches. Therefore, shallot is suspected has antifungal activity too.The aim of this research was to know antifungal activity of shallot’s water extortion againsts Candida albicans invitro. This was a laboratory experimental research which used completely randomized design, with diffusion method.Shallot’s water extortion was devided into three concentrations, there were 50%, 100% and 200%. Ketoconazole 2%was positive control and aquadest was negative control. The result of this research based on analysis of varians(Anova), there was significant difference between several treatments and was confirmed with Duncan New MultipleRange Test (DNMRT) p<0,05, there was significant difference between 100% shallot’s water extortion with othertreatments, but there was no significant difference between 50% shallot’s water extortion with 200% shallot’s. Theconclusion was shallot’s water extortion had antifungal activity againsts Candida albicans with the best concentration100%, but it was lower than ketoconazole 2%.

Kersen leaf (Muntingia calabura L.) contains tannins, flavonoids and polyphenol compounds allegedly have analgesic effect. The objective was to determine the analgesic effect of ethanol extract of kersen leaves and to determine the most effective analgesic dose. This study was an experimental research. Leaves were extracted with ethanol 70% and the analgesic effect test was divided into 5 groups: negative control treatment (distilled water), positive control (mefenamic acid 2.6mg/kg), kersen leaf ethanol extract first dose (100mg/kg), second dose (200mg/kg) and tthird dose (400mg/kg). Giving treatments by oral, after 30 minutes, the mices were given a pain inductor with 0.5% acetic acid by intra peritonial administration. Analgesic power was calculated by counting the number of writhing in mice for 1 hour. The results showed that the ethanol extract of cherry leaf has analgesic effect. From the calculation of the first dose analgesic power (42.9%), second dose (59.4%) and the third dose 69.9%. Statistical test results kruskal wallis value of p=0.011 (p<0.05) showed a significant difference between all analgesic treatment groups. The conclusion of this study is all of the ethanol extract had analgesic effects on male white mice, whereas a dose of 400mg/kg is the most effective analgesic dose.

Background: The process of wound healing is influenced by various factors such as age, hormones, and wound care. Wound care is done to accelerate wound healing which can be done by various methods, one of them is traditional care. Traditional wound care can use medicinal plants. Rhodomyrtus tomentosa is a medicinal plant that has an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor and antibacterial content. Thus this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the antiseptic solution of the Rodhomyrtus tomentosa leaf extract on wound healing in male Wistar rats. Method: this research is pure experimental research with post test only control group design. Thirty male white rats were divided into five groups, namely negative control, positive control, Rhodomyrtus tomentosa leaf extract 15%, 30%, and 60%. Rhodomyrtus tomentosa leaf extraction was carried out by maceration method with 70% ethano solvent. The extraction results are divided into 3 concentrations (15%, 30% and 60%). The wound healing process was evaluated by measuring the length of the wound manually from 0 to 10 days in each group. Meanwhile, the number of fibroblast cells was calculated through hematoxylin eosin (HE) staining and observed using an Olympus CX41 microscope with a 10x magnification and objective lens magnification in 3 fields. Result: There was a significant difference in the reduction in wound length (p =< 0,000) between the five experimental groups (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa leaf extract solution 15%, 30% and 60%, negative control and positive control. Solution of rhodomyrtus tomentosa leaf extract accelerated the increase in the number of fibroblasts compared to the negative control group (p = 0.003), but did not make a difference (p = 0.403) with the positive control group. Rhodomyrtus tomentosa leaf extraction solution had the same microscopic effect on the number of fibroblasts with a positive control group given 0.9% NaCl solution. Conclusion: There was a significant difference in the number of fibroblasts between all groups, but no difference in wound healing length.

Introduction: Research on the use of papaya and aloevera sap on wound healing each been done, but effects the combination of the two extracts on wound healing in diabetes mellitus condition has not been done.Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of a gel combination of papaya latex and aloevera flesh extracts on the traumatics ulcer healing process in diabetic rats.Methods: True experimental laboratory research with the post-test-only control group design that performed on 28 male wistar rats which were divided intofour groups: DM and non-DM rat that treatment with povidone iodine and gel combination of papaya latex and aloevera flesh extract. The treatment was done for 7 days with smearing that was given 2x/day. Traumatics ulcer healing seen from the number of fibroblasts that then were analyzed by One WayAnova and post hoc LSD test.Results: The results showed the number of fibroblasts in DM and non-DM rat with povidone iodine were 44.6 and 42.73; in the DM and non-DM rat with a gel combination of papaya latex and aloe vera flesh extracts were 61.10 and 77.03. One Way Anova test resulted p-value = 0.000, it was mean that there were at least a significant difference on the number of fibroblasts in the two groups. Differences of the number fibroblasts was shown in all groups, except in the group DM and non-DM rats with povidone iodine (p = 0.764).Conclusion: Conclusion of the study was the provision of a gel combination of papaya latex and aloevera flesh extracts effect on the traumatics ulcer healing process in diabetic rats.

ABSTRACT Gotu Kola Leaf (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) are known to contain flavonoid compound, and flavonoid are known to decrease blood glucose level by stimulating pancreas beta cells to produce insulin. The aim of this research is to find out wether the ethanol extract of gotu kola leaf (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) has the antidiabetic effectiveness or not. This research used Completely Randomized Design method. There were 15 rats used in this research that were split into 5 groups that is negative control (Aquadest), positive control (Metformin), and ethanol extract of gotu kola leaf with the dosage of 5.4 mg;10.8 mg;21.6 mg. The acquired data were analyzed with ANOVA test and LSD test. The analysis result showed that ethanol extract of gotu kola leaf had antidiabetic effectiveness against male white rat. Keywords:  Centella asiatica (L.) Tikus yang digunakan sebanyak 15 ekor dan dibagi dalam 5 kelompok yaitu kontrol negatif (aquadest), kontrol positif (metformin), dan ekstrak etanol daun pegagan dengan dosis 5,4 mg; 10,8 mg; 21,6 mg. Data yang ada dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji ANOVA dan uji LSD. Hasil analisis menujukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun pegagan memiliki efektivitas antidiabetes terhadap tikus putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus). Kata kunci: Centella asiatica (L.) Penambahan nutrisi perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas pertumbuhan jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus). Salah satu bahan yang dapat digunakan adalah serbuk jagung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan serbuk jagung pada komposisi media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan miselium bibit F1 jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus) dan mengetahui konsentrasi serbuk jagung yang paling baik digunakan pada pertumbuhan  miselium bibit F1 jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus). Penelitian ini mengunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan sehingga diperoleh 12 satuan percobaan; P0 (perlakuan kontrol), P1 (25%), P2 (50%), dan P3 (100%). Variabel yang diukur adalah persentase pertumbuhan miselium yang diamati pada hari ke-6, 12 dan 18 dan waktu penyebaran miselium Hari Setelah Inokulasi (HSI). Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA) dengan uji lanjut menggunakan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh pada pertumbuhan miselium bibit F1 jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus) dengan penambahan serbuk jagung pada komposisi media tanam. Selain Itu, konsentrasi serbuk jagung yang memberikan hasil yang paling baik terhadap pertumbuhan miselium adalah P2 dengan konsentrasi 50%. Kata kunci : miselium F1; Pleurotus ostreatus; serbuk jagung  ABSTRACTAdditional nutrition needs to be done to increase the productivity of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) growth. One of the materials that can be used is corn powder. This study aimed to determine the effect of corn powder on the planting medium composition towards mycelium growth of oyster mushroom F1 seeds (Pleurotus ostreatus) and to find the best concentration of corn powder to grow mycelium seeds F1 oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). This research was an experimental study using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments namely; P0 (control treatment), P1 (25%), P2 (50%), and P3 (100%), and 3 repetitions so that obtained 12 experimental units. The variables measured were the mycelium growth percentage on days 6, 12, and 18, and the mycelium widespread time after the day of inoculation. The data were analyzed using ANOVA then continued on the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results showed that the addition of corn powder on oyster mushroom growing media affected mycelium growth of the oyster mushroom F1 seeds (Pleurotus ostreatus). It also found that the P2 with a 50% concentration of corn powder gave the widest mycelium growth.  Keywords: corn powder; mycelium; Pleurotus ostreatus
