As an agricultural-based village, wives in Mojorejo village located in Ponorogo, East Jave have been supporting the family income from occassional production of bamboo handicraft, e.g. ‘besek’, ‘tumbu’, and ‘rinjing’ for generations. Despite its great potential, this bamboo handicraft is still produced individually with one family produced only one type of product, resulting in low economical impact for the family and the village. This community service program aimed to establish a ‘bamboo handicraft center’ with the final goal of increasing the income of the community in Mojorejo Village. This community service program uses a participatory rural appraisal (PRA) approach, which in the implementation of the program, several methods were used, in the form of focus group discussions, training, technology introduction, counseling and mentoring. As a result of this community development program, the community's economy have increased through development of new products and management of the micro-businesses from production to marketing.

Community and family empowerment activities are classic activities that are currently still underestimated by many parties, but this is still relevant and urgent when linked to community service programs. This community service program is proven to have a direct impact on efforts to improve the quality of life of the community, especially for disadvantaged families or disadvantaged families. Through this paper, the authors raise several positive aspects that can be obtained from several stages of the implementation of community service conducted by Padang State University in Nagari Lubuk Jantan Tanah Datar Regency. The focus of the activity is the empowerment of pre-prosperous family economies through the utilization of family resources and yards. The election of Nagari Lubuk Jantan is based on the consideration that this area is relatively many target groups or communities that are still underdeveloped in various aspects of life, especially in the education aspects, social aspects, and cultural aspects, and low levels of welfare, while they have relatively large family members as well as large yards that are not used optimally. The results of these community service activities have a significant impact, including: increased public knowledge about family problems and potential, the community gets an understanding in increasing family income through the management of family resources, and skills in improving the family economy by choosing and cultivating plants of economic value in the yard around residential areas, especially for economically weak communities. It is expected that all parties, including universities, regional governments, the private world, and community leaders, can increase their awareness of the family empowerment program, especially in optimizing the utilization of the potential of family resources such as human resources, family assets and time. Therefore, in the future, a variety of scientific studies and a more comprehensive service program breakthrough and totality related to efforts to improve the quality of the family will lead to a more dignified prosperous family.Keywords: Family Resources, Disadvantaged Families, Yard

The women’s cooperative “Usaha Wanita Mandiri” was established as a forum for women to be economically empowered. However, in the enforcement of rules of savings and loan activities, the management often encounters problems with loan repayments in each installment period. This program aimed to educate supervisors, administrators, and coordinators in charge of the Kopwan Utama group regarding the importance of keeping regulatory archives in the form of digital videos and facilitating the dissemination of information on savings and loan regulations that are still in paper form. The community service program consists of focus group discussions and video socialization. The formulation of regulations and the video socialization were conducted face-toface and through online communication platforms, such as whatsapp and youtube. Because of the pandemic, issues arose during the focus group discussions and socialization, wherein some stages were not attended by all participants. The dissemination of the video via whatsapp and youtube is acknowledged by the supervisors, administrators, and coordinators of the groups to  help provide their members with videos on savings and loans.

Kota Pangkalpinang memiliki topografi relatif rendah dan berbatasan dengan laut di bagian timur. Pendangkalan aliran sungai, serta alih fungsi lahan menyebabkan bencana banjir pada musim hujan. Berdasarkan permasalahan dibutuhkan peningkatan penguasaan teknologi pemetaan bagi aparatur kecamatan dan kelurahan, pembuatan peta banjir, dan mensosialisasikannya kepada kalangan pelajar. Program dimulai dengan survey pengumpulan data koordinat banjir, diskusi kelompok terarah dan pelatihan pembuatan peta, dan sosialisasi hasil. Hasil program pengabdian telah meningkatkan kapasitas para aparatur kecamatan dan kelurahan dalam penguasaan teknologi pemetaan. Pada peta banjir dan genangan air Kota Pangkalpinang menunjukkan pola sebaran banjir terdapat pada morfologi dataran rendah disepanjang aliran Sungai Rangkui. Pelajar dan mahasiswa peserta sosialisasi mitigasi bencana banjir mampu memahami materi secara optimal. Keseluruhan hasil program pengabdian secara signifikan memberikan sumbangsih dalam implemetasi teknologi pemetaan untuk mitigasi bencana banjir. Kata Kunci:  Banjir, Mitigasi, Pemetaan, Pelatihan, Sosialisasi ABSTRACT Pangkalpinang City has a relatively low topography and bordered by the sea in the east. the stream siltation and land-use change cause floods during the rainy season. Based on the problem, it is needed to improve the mastery of mapping technology for district and village apparatus, making flood maps, and disseminating them to students. The program starts with collecting flood coordinate data, focus group discussions and map-making training, and socialization the result. the program has increased the capacity of the district and village apparatus in the mastery of mapping technology. On the map of floods and puddles of Pangkalpinang City shows the flood pattern distribution found in the lowland morphology along the Rangkui River. Students and scholars participating in the flood disaster mitigation socialization understood the material optimally. The overall results of the community service program significantly contributed to the implementation of mapping technology in flood mitigation. ABSTRACTThe shift in the principle of setting of the principle of "decentralization" and "residuals" on previous legislation became the principle of subsidiarity and the principle of recognizing in Act No. 6 of the year 2014 of the village became hope and renewed energy for the village to be able to determine the position, role and authority over him. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the budget of the village Fund in the field of community empowerment in Wowonii Island.This research uses qualitative descriptive approach. The subject specified in purposive that describe the representation of topology village (the region of mainland coast, and inland). The technique of data collection was done through interviews, the study document, Focus Group Discussions and observations. The technique of data analysis performed with the interactive approach in the form of model reduction data, display data, verification and conclusion.The results of showing the budget of the village during the time brackets 4 (four) years have contributed to the village and community in the County Wowonii Island. Although the budget of the fund of the village in the field of development and the empowerment of the community very small but their impact is very beneficial for community interests. The Village Government and the Improved Quality in 2014 The Village Government and the Improved Quality in 2014, the Village Fund Budget Year 2014, 2015 and 2016, do not contribute directly to the community. of community service. The village Fund Budget activity 2015-2017 year, especially through the village of interior Shield, is considered to be highly contributing to society, especially the poor and women. Community empowerment carried out in Waifoi village in the process has dynamics that can be understood as material for developing community empowerment processes and formulating empowerment activities appropriate to the local community's context. The purpose of this study is to uncover the dynamics of community empowerment in Waifoi village and describe the innovative formulation of empowerment activities in accordance with the context of community needs in Waifoi village in a participatory manner. The research method used was a case study and participatory rural appraisal through observation, incidental interviews, focus group discussions and document studies which were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the Waifoi Village community was a type of community that was open to developing innovation but had a socio-cultural context of hunting and gathering types. There is a differentiation of perception in the community structure of Waifoi village regarding interest in the object to be developed in the village. Empowerment through the formulation of integrated village-based ecotourism development can be an alternative that can be drawn from the results of a participatory community needs tracking done.

A Community service program (PKM) is a program designed for community empowerment. Mojorejo Village, Ponorogo Regency, East Java, Indonesia, is a village with bamboo producers and human resources who have expertise as woven bamboo craftsmen. The community service program aims to develop safe woven bamboo production, with the ultimate goal of increasing the income of the community in Mojorejo Village and reducing the risk of work accidents for bamboo woven craftsmen. This program uses a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, and identification of potential hazards, where in the program implementation it uses focus group discussions, training, socialization, counseling, and mentoring. The result of this program is an increase in the health and safety of woven bamboo craftsmen and an increase in the community's economy through product development.

Community Empowerment in the Tourism Sector in Efforts Acceleration of Economic Recovery in Dambalo Village As an effort to grow the economy which is currently slumped as a result of the covid 19 pandemic. He people of Dambalo Village have various livelihoods from self-employed fishermen, farmers and some are civil servants and construction workers, all of which aim to help the family economy. and almost 60% are creative and micro business actors. Here fore, we are interested in providing creative ideas in the tourism sector, where in this village there is a pretty good tourist attraction to be developed, namely the Botudidingga tourism object, as for the tourism objects in this village that have existed since a few years ago which are located on the coast which has its own uniqueness, because to go to this place the tourists seem to go on a trip to the mountains, the vast expanse of sea surrounded by mangroves and has a courtyard to the middle of the sea makes Botudidingga tourism object the maldeves of North Gorontalo. To further beautify and attract tourists, the thematic village community service students create interesting photo spots with materials taken in the village of Dambalo itself

ABSTRACTThe hijab sewing skills training program is seen as a strategic educational skill to be implemented for women because hijab sewing can be applied for their own needs or become a side business. This skill, if properly trained and mastered, can become a form of business that can help the family economy and create jobs for the community. The village community service activities were carried out in Bunsur Village, Sungai Apit Subdistrict, Siak Regency, Riau Province with the target audience is the housewives of the village. They have given basic knowledge in choosing materials for the hijab. Then skills trained was held, starting how to make pet and headscarves, cutting fabrics according to the patterns that have been made, and sewing headscarves with various existing patterns. Keterampilan ini bila dilatih dan dikuasai dengan baik dapat menjadi bentuk usaha yang dapat membantu perekonomian keluarga dan penciptaan lapangan kerja bagi masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat desa ini dilaksanakan di Desa Bunsur Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak Propinsi Riau dengan khalayak sasarannya adalah Ibu-ibu rumah tangga desa tersebut. Mereka diberi pengetahuan dasar dalam memilih bahan untuk jilbab. Kemudian diadakan pelatihan keterampilan, mulai cara membuat pola pet dan jilbab, memotong kain sesuai dengan pola yang sudah dibuat, dan menjahit jilbab dengan bermacam pola yang telah ada. Setelah jahitan selesai, kemudian dilakukan pemeriksaan terhadap hasil jahitan sehingga layak untuk dijual dan dipasarkan. Kata Kunci: Desa Bunsur, home industri, pelatihan menjahit, jilbab

Introduction: There is evidence of the inability of older people in Nigeria, Ghana and other developing countries to sustain themselves through savings, assets or pensions. This situation highlights the minimal benefit of pensions, savings or assets as income sources for older people; old age very often brings poverty and disability. Methodology: A qualitative interpretive design informed the study. The study area was categorized into three distinct ecological areas namely urban, periurban and rural areas. Twenty interviews and three focus group discussions with 68 elderly persons were conducted in ten sub-districts in the Cape Coast Metropolis, Ghana. The forty-eight elderly individuals were put into groups of 8, 20 and 20 for the focus group discussions. Data was thematically analysed.Results: Four major themes and subthemes were identified to reflect the pertinent issue of exploring and defining the preparedness of people for their retirement and ageing. There was evidence that preparing for old age is not an active precedent for the people of Cape Coast and they still believe in the traditional system of caring where it is the sole responsibility of the family to care for its own aged members.Conclusion: It is evident that formal care is not practiced in Ghana and that the aged therefore find the idea bewildering. They want to experience this care, but existing norms expect the family members to single-handedly provide care for their aged.

The general theme of the 2020 Community Service Program is “Community Empowerment”. Meanwhile, the special theme is "Entrepreneurship". The implementation time starts from August 3 to September 3, 2020, in Onekore Village, Ende Tengah District, Ende Regency. On the program. With this special theme, the main activity carried out is supporting entrepreneurship in Onekore Village. The purpose of implementing this activity is that students are expected to gain learning experience through direct involvement in the community in finding, formulating, solving, and overcoming problems in the field. In this KKN activity, the problems found were the lack of utilization of existing garden products, namely bananas. So far, it is consumed by boiling or eating it without further processing. Olso besides, we also found woven products from weaving that were difficult to market. Students socialize and practice entrepreneurship as an effort to solve problems faced by weaving craftsmen. Efforts made to help the household economy include making flower pots and making wallets made from woven fabrics. Supporting activities during the Community Service Program are assisting with the administration of the Village, community service, building a gate for the Indonesian Independence Day, making sample gardens, socializing COVID-19 and, health service for the elderly.
