The aim of this paper is to highlight the dynamic and open character of teaching methodology in higher education and to emphasize the necessity of centering the education on the student in order to increase the efficiency of the educational activities. In the education  centered on student, the student turns into an active subject of the education process. He should be considered as a partner of the teacher who together set goals in order to increase the efficiency of the education process and the formation of the school route.  Because of the evolution of society, now, more than ever, a reform of university education is needed, more exactly, a reform of the way in which education unfolds. Moreover, university education must bring multiple valences to the professional and personal development of the graduate, which is also an aspect of  educational ideal.

This chapter reviews the book University Education of the Parochial Clergy in Medieval England: The Lincoln Diocese, c.1300–c.1350 (2014), by F. Donald Logan. In 1298, Pope Boniface VIII’s constitution cum ex eo was published. It was considered a landmark in the provisions of higher education for the parish clergy, opening the way for parish rectors who had not yet been ordained as priests to absent themselves from their parishes for up to seven years to attend university. Logan explores how this constitution was implemented across Europe by focusing on the diocese of Lincoln, the largest in England with nearly 2,000 parishes. Logan emphasises the distinction between cum ex eo dispensations and the parallel procedure called licencia studendi, both of which contributed significantly to the enhancement of clerical education in fourteenth-century England.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) reflect the relationship among social, economic, and environmental aspects of society. Massive online open courses (MOOCs) represent an opportunity to promote lifelong learning (SDG 4), complementing university education or providing knowledge to society free and openly. The objective of this work is to analyze experiences in one MOOC about wastewater treatment applied to higher education in civil engineering (SDG 6). The proposed educational methodology and the achieved participation results are studied. The MOOC had three editions and was hosted on the Miríadax platform. Data about sociodemographic characteristics, initial motivation, and satisfaction level were collected from questionnaires. The results highlighted the importance of design decisions to obtain a high completion rate: defining a target audience, without prejudice to the course’s open character, where the prior knowledge of students is crucial. The teaching methodology is based on autonomous and progressive learning, with short and direct master classes, social support, with the motivation of students to continue their training with opening complementary topics in the forums, following up on their doubts, and their combination with social networks.

The crossfit training system allows you to easily adapt it for people with different levels of physical fitness. Students of higher education institutions were offered a method of classes using crossfit tools in physical education process. Conclusions: Thanks to the implemented methodology, the usage of functional all-around (crossfit), we proved that during our study, students who were engaged in the experimental method, improved their general physical condition, level of physical fitness and motivation to engage in physical culture and sports.

Methodology: They were provided with life reflections in the first 15 days of class for no more than 15 minutes at a time and later, a WhatsApp group was formed with volunteer students, in which they received small reflections and a daily exercise, for 21 days to realize their thoughts and control them for the benefit of their peace and tranquility. Contribution: As a result, more than 70% of both groups considered these activities to be beneficial and useful for their lives. The article reveals the influence of independent physical exercises on the improvement of physical condition. It is established that the level of health of modern youth is at a low level, which is due to the lack of motivation for physical education. It was found that most students are to some extent dissatisfied with the system of organization of physical education in higher education institutions. The article suggests ways to increase the prestige of physical education classes and improve motivation for independent exercise. First of all, it should be noted that independent exercise can not take place without awareness of the need for a healthy body and good health. The student's awareness of the need for exercise is the first step towards his personal development, regardless of where and how he wants to realize himself in this case. Physical education acts as an integral part of the general and professional culture of the student, as the most important qualitative dynamic characteristic of his personal development, as a fundamental activity that determines the beginning of his socio-cultural existence, method and extent of essential strengths and abilities. First of all, the student must be interested in the lessons, and also keep in mind that the body, spirit and mind - this is the only whole that is the essence of a healthy and harmonious personality. The student should also understand that his own body in many ways resembles a vessel, and it depends on the subject what and how to fill it. When exerting a pedagogical influence on a student, it is important to convey to him an understanding of this simple truth, and in physical education classes it is necessary to try to give maximum freedom to everyone. Of course, it is difficult to make a student aware of the need for physical education, and even more so through pedagogical skills to encourage him to do physical exercises, because in the educational program of higher education there are other subjects that require some time.

In last decades higher school in Russia has undergone qualitative transformation, which deals not only with the higher school organization but also the deep foundation of this most essential social and cultural field of the ethnos being. Architecture of university education, criteria of assessing results of university work, models of education process are changing, i. e. all aspects of external attributes in the sphere of augmentation, retention and communication of accumulated knowledge to future generations. The essential foundations are changing, the power and depth of these transformations act as irreversible after-effects and refraction on the deep level of the higher education form and at the same time the society demand for the importance of higher education, individuals’ demand for applied conditions, which can provide their being in a formalized manner. Commercialization of higher school influences the form, depth and speed of transformations, stipulates demands for the functional component of education process designers, advances demands for economic efficiency and expediency of their professional work. The author shows that the key contradiction evident in the sphere of higher school of Russia, which gave birth to continuously existing problems makes professional community consider the nature of these phenomena and makes authorized representatives of power pay attention to inevitability of managerial paradigm modernization, to the necessity of introducing more tough, more formalized system of estimation criteria of efficiency of university functioning (the program of university development). But it would not prevent us from realizing the historical mission of higher school of Russia, this essence-value component of national culture and from understanding the necessity of public dialogue about the future of higher school. And finally, we must apprehend that academic education is not a service but one of the most important functions of state.
