Waste, both organic and non organic waste generated much cause problems, such as environmental pollution. In large cities waste product per capita ranges between 600- 830 grams per day (Mungkasa, 2004). On the other hand, the city government more difficult to get a processing Waste (landfill). With the launch of Act No. 18 of 2008 on Waste Management in which one important message of the Act is any source of waste should reduce the amount of waste to be disposed to landfill. The results showed that BPPT office waste generation amounted to 0.0108 kg / peg / day or 0002 kg/org/m2/hr paper component composition 59.94% (almost 60%), office space (80.84%), canteen (10.49%), parks (8.67%) and approximately 28.47% of organic material, (Shochib. R,2010). BPPT, as one source of waste from the commercial sector, has reduced the amount of waste that must be disposed of to landfill by utilizing inorganic garbage that still has economic value, while for organic waste, BPPT trying to reduce the amount of waste by processing organic waste into compost, for it will built home composting, which is one place that used to process organic waste into compost. Batik Semanggi is one of the typical batiks in Surabaya which has economic value for the community. However, the competitiveness of the clover batik business is relatively low. This study aims to identify the internal environmental conditions (strengths-weaknesses) and external (opportunities-threats) of the clover batik craftsmen as the basis for formulating a strategy to increase competitiveness. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques focus group discussions (FGD), semi-structured interviews, observation and document collection. Informants were determined using a purposive method. The data analysis uses interactive models and SWOT analysis. The results showed several strengths that can encourage the floating of clover batik, namely the ability to make a capable batik, iconic distinctive motifs and organic batik technology. The opportunities that arise, namely export opportunities, support of the city government, support of other elements of society, and online marketing opportunities. While weaknesses include the number of craftsmen, low online marketing capabilities, motives not yet registered as intellectual property rights, limited production, and marketing volumes, traditional tools, and low capital. The threat that arises namely, the emergence of other motifs as a competitor batik, and batik printing production that offers cheaper prices with a larger production scale. The map of strengths and weaknesses and threats above are very useful as a material for formulating strategies in empowering clover batik craftsmen.

The habit of Karang Joang people is throwing garbage, inherited from generation to generation. Most of treating’s their garbage are by burning it in the yard, throwing into the garden or the river. The transportation to take garbage that isn’t intensive by city officers and the lack of knowledge in managing the garbage greatly affects the pollution condition of the air, soil and water in the village. This research focuses on the patterns of society in treating organic waste and inorganic. Environmental conditions in the village to make some attention from the city government Balikpapan. Because the village is located in a protected forest manggar should be kept clean. We distributed questionnaires to 500 housewives that are living in 12 areas near the river. We interviewed one of the small shop and 5 housewives about what they buy and how dispose of waste in one day. Approximately 5-7 sachet plastics and around 200-300 grams of organic garbage. And approximately one drum of water is used for one family. Six months after distributing questionnaires and analyzing, we held a workshop with theme on the importance of eco-friendly living, composting of organic garbage, and counseling about bank of garbage program for 32 leaders in the village. Then we try to find solutions about how to build the consciousness and management in solid waste. In this study, some possible solutions have been presented by transfer environmental technologies

ABSTRAKSalah satu dampak dari proses pembangunan adalah pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan. Pertumbuhan penduduk yang pesat terutama di daerah perkotaan dengan perilaku membuang sampah yang tidak baik menyebabkan berbagai limbah yang harus diserap oleh lingkungan, terutama limbah domestik atau limbah rumah tangga. Komposisi sampah organik menempati persentase tertinggi hingga 57% di Kota Bandung, dimana limbah sisa makanan yang menempati urutan teratas yaitu sebesar 40%. Masyarakat dan pemerintah saja tidak cukup untuk mengatasi persoalan pengelolaan sampah. Keterlibatan dan partisipasi aktif perusahaan sebagai pihak swasta melalui kegiatan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan dapat dilakukan melalui program-program yang mendukung pengolahan limbah organik berkelanjutan. Pengembangan program CSR yang baik pada suatu perusahaan sebaiknya dikaitakn dengan kebutuhan dan persoalan yang dihadapi masyarakat sekitar. Model Social Responsible Business Practice, merupakan salah satu jenis program yang bertujuan untuk mensejahterakan masyarakat, tapi juga memiliki korelasi positif dalam peningkatan produktivitas perusahaan secara operasional. Model praktik ini, memungkinkan aktivitas perusahaan yang salah satunya mencakup penyediaan fasilitas yang memenuhi tingkat keamanan dan keselamatan lingkungan dan dapat memelihara aktivitas pembangunan berkelanjutan. PT. Pertamina TBBM Bandung Group merupakan salah satu BUMN yang peduli dengan inovasi penanganan masalah sampah di Kota Bandung, melalui program BU MANIK (Budidaya Maggot dan Pupuk Organik), sejalan dengan program KANG PISMAN (Kurangi, Pisahkan, Manfaatkan) milik pemerintah Kota Bandung, yang bertujuan untuk membudidayakan maggot sebagai media utama pengurai limbah organik serta pakan ternak alami. Efektifitas program ini bergantung pada CSR PT. Pertamina TBBM Bandung Group sebagai lembaga yang memfasilitasi pelaksanaan program dan kelompok bank sampah sebagai komunitas yang diberdayakan, serta keterlibatan masyarakat dan dukungan pemerintah.Kata kunci: CSR, pengelolaan sampah, sumber daya berkelanjutan, pemberdayaan ABSTRACTOne of the impacts of the development process is environmental pollution and damage. Pertamina TBBM Bandung Group is one of the BUMN that is concerned with the innovation of handling waste problems in the city of Bandung, through the BU MANIK (Cultivating Maggot and Organic Fertilizer) program, in line with the KANG PISMAN program (Reduce, Separate, Utilize) the Bandung city government, which aims to cultivate maggot as the main media to decompose organic waste and natural animal feed. The effectiveness of this program depends on the CSR of PT. Pertamina TBBM Bandung Group as an institution that facilitates the implementation of programs and groups of waste banks as an empowered community; as well as community involvement and government support.Keywords: CSR, waste management, sustainable resource, empowerment

This research was motivated by the fact that there was resistance from street vendors in Madiun City as a manifestation of people's resistance to the country. The city of Madiun, the capital city of Bakorwil 1, Madiun, is economically developing so that the number of street vendors explodes. Therefore this area is economically meaningful and has high economic value, so it becomes the goal of workers seeking, namely as street vendors. To organize the traders in the city of Madiun and the DPRD make a PKL Regional Regulation. The PKL Regional Regulation is intended to regulate the PKL selling in the city of Madiun. But the process that happened to street vendors was less involved, causing resistance. There was people's resistance to the state, because the state did not prosper the people. The regulation made by the DPRD and the Madiun city administration aims to keep traders in order, and implement the rules, but the regulation creates resistance. This study aims to: (1) understand the causes of the street vendors 'resistance (2) understand the meaning and purpose of street vendors' resistance to the Satpol PP. (3) understand the forms of street vendors' resistance to the Madiun city administration. The approach used in this study is qualitative with data collection techniques with observation, interviews and documentation. The paradigm in this study uses a social definition. While the theory used to explain the resistance of street vendors to the policies of the city government of Madiun James C. Scott's resistance theory.

The largest cities in Pacific Asia are the engines of their countries’ economic growth, seats of national and regional political power, and repositories of the nation’s culture and heritage. The economic changes impacting large cities interact with political forces along with social cultural concerns, and in the process also impact the neighbourhoods of the city. Neighbourhoods for the City in Pacific Asia looks at local collective action and city government responses and its impact on the neighbourhood and the city. A multi-sited comparative approach is taken in studying local action in five important cities (Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore and Taipei) in Pacific Asia. With site selection in these five cities guided by local experts, neighbourhood issues associated with the fieldsites are explored through interviews with a variety of stakeholders involved in neighourhood building and change. The book enables comparisons across a number of key issues confronting the city: heritage (Bangkok and Taipei), local community involved provisioning of amenities (Seoul and Singapore), placemaking versus place marketing (Bangkok and Hong Kong). Cities are becoming increasingly important as centers for politics, citizen engagement and governance. The collaborative efforts city governments establish with local communities become an important way to address the liveability of cities.

An effort to utilitize waste for the community is said to be successful if the products it produces can be useful for the community and economic value so that it sells. Likewise, various kinds of products resulting from waste processing, will feel the benefits if they can be felt by many people and have high economic value, so that it can help the economy of the community whose livelihoods depend a lot on scavenging garbage. To achieve the community’s economy, it is necessary to have an effort to manage the results of the utilization of the waste and market the products resulting from the utilization of waste so that they can be sold. In addition, the feasibility of business needs to be known with the financial presence so that the goals to be achieved can be met and produce results for those who manage it. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The method used is direct observation of the Galuga TPA in order to interview relevant parties to obtain complete information and data. Based on the information obtained from the intervies, the amount of income of the scavengers for one month ranges from Rp. 2,600,000. This means that these activities will be sustainable in the long term because of the market and the economic. Benefits received. The city government of Bogor must be able to empower and increase the capacity and role of scavengers as well as the participation of the surrounding community so that they are able to reduce the environmental burden on the dangers of pollution and obtain economic benefits from the exixtence of jobs at the Galuga TPA. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was (1) to analyze and find out what the Government’s policy to relocate street vendors Manado City in the center of the city of Manado. (2). To analyze and determine the factors that influence Relocation Policy Implementation street vendors by the City of Manado. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Data validity checking techniques include degree of confidence, and the degree of dependency and certainty. In this study it was found that PKL relocation policy based Perwako No. 1 of 2006 concerning the relocation of street vendors in the market due to Manado Bersehati population and the presence of street vendors in the city center of Manado 45 raises complex issues that directly impact the other activities in the region, especially public transportation routes to be disrupted due to the capacity of the central area of the city of Manado 45 can no longer accommodate diverse activities. Assertiveness factor is needed in the City Government made a policy on street vendors. Are also important factors to be considered is the feasibility of a sale is seen from all aspects, primarily the physical condition of the building is also provided for the relocation of economic value that can be obtained by street vendors in these locations. Also affecting the relocation policy implementation is weak supervision and monitoring of the implementation of the policy. Thus it can be suggested that the relocation of street vendors Policy mayor Regulation No. 1 of 2006 should be revised or updated to a higher legal force the relocation of local regulation of street vendors. Government policy has had to consider the interests of both parties. On the one hand giving opportunity to all people to a decent life with his work, but still managing urban obliged to be a comfortable place for all activities of the citizens. Assertiveness factor is needed in the City Government made a policy on street vendors. This shows about government authority as the holder of the authority under applicable laws. Are also important factors to be considered is the feasibility of a sale, arranged from all aspects, primarily the physical condition of the building is also provided for the relocation of economic value that can be obtained by street vendors in these locations. Waste is a waste product produced by both industrial and domestic production (household), its presence at a certain time and place is undesirable because it has no economic value. Chemically verified, this waste includes organic chemicals (waste that can be decomposed: leaf  residue, food  particles) and non-norganic (waste that cannot be decomposed: metal, plastic).  At  certain concentrations and levels, the presence of waste may have a negative impact on the  environment, in particular on human health. Therefore, it is necessary to handle the waste. Measures must be taken to reduce the amount of waste generated by use. Video sharing  services based  on  this  site is  a  support solution for the Department of Sanitation of the city  of  Kupang  in dealing with the problems of waste that occur in the community, in particular  directly raising  awareness  of  the  community  to each other to motivate others in the use of waste generated.

This article discusses the struggles of urban social movements for a de-neoliberalisation of housing policies in Poulantzian terms as a “condensation of the relationship of forces”. Drawing on an empirical analysis of the “Berliner Mietenvolksentscheid” (Berlin rent referendum), which was partially successful in forcing the city government of Berlin to adopt a more progressive housing policy, the article argues that urban social movements have the capacity to challenge neoliberal housing regimes. However, the specific materiality of the state apparatus and its strategic selectivity both limit the scope of intervention for social movements aiming at empowerment and non-hierarchical decision-making.

Based on the concept of a livable and global age-friendly city, pavements are a public facility that the city should provide to the people. Appropriate pavements will be beneficial for the people, particularly for good quality of life for the elderly to move around in the city. This study explored the behaviour of the elderly in the use of pavements and the problems confronted. The study also evaluated the value of the pavement walking area as it reflected the benefits of pavements to the elderly by applying the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). During March-May 2017, data were collected using interviews with 601 elderly living in Bangkok. The study indicated that the main problem for senior citizens regarding their use of pavements was from being disturbed by motorbikes riding on the pavements. The average value of pavement for the elderly was about THB 160 (USD 5.30) per person per year. Thus, the benefits of pavements to the elderly in Bangkok was approximately THB 158 million (USD 5.2 million) per year. Thus, policy makers should make proper budget allocations for elderly-friendly pavement management and seriously address the problems confronting the elderly in using pavements, to maximize the usefulness of pavements not only for the elderly but also for the public and to support a sustainable urban development.
