Macro algae is a part of marine plants whose whole body is called the "thallus". Macro algae are widespread in tropical and sub-tropical waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of the macro algae species, the width of the micro-habitat niches, and the overlapping of the micro-habitat niches in the intertidal zone of the waters of Sibu Island, Oba Utara District, Tidore Islands City. The data was collected using survey method using belt transects and squares measuring 1x1 m2 which are placed systematically in zigzags along the tansek belt. In this study, 20 species of macro algae were found in the waters of the island of Sibu, consisting of Halimeda macroloba, Halimeada opuntia forma chordata, Halimeda incrassata, Halimeda opuntia forma renschii, Chaetamorpha sp, Eucheuma cottonii, Sargassum duplicatum, S.polycestum, Turbina ornata, T. conoides, Padina boergesenii, Dictyota dichotoma, Amphiroa fragilissima, Acanthopora spicifera, Eucheuma denticulatum, E. spinosum, Glacilaria salicornia, Hypnea nidulans, Galaxaura apiculata. The results of the analysis of the width of the recesses showed that the macro algae species with the largest recess width were Eucheuma denticulatum with a value of 0.905, while Galaxura apiculata had the narrowest recess widths with a value of 0.200. Furthermore, based on the results of overlapping analysis of microhabitat niches, it shows that the overlap of microbaitate niches is quite large by Sargassum polycestum against Galaxaura apiculata with a value of 0.337, while the lowest was carried out by Halimeda macroloba against Galaxaura apiculata, Halimeda opuntia forma chordata against Galaxaura apiculata with a value of 0.337, while the lowest was carried out by Halimeda macroloba against Galaxaura apiculata, Halimeda opuntia forma chordata against Galaxaura apiculata, Eucheuma spinosum against Galaxaura apiculata with a value of 0.000.

1. Observations made on bream, goldfish and dace swimming in the ‘Fish Wheel’ apparatus are described. These include: 2. An account of the complex changes in curvature of the caudal fin during different phases of the normal locomotory cycle. Measurements of this curvature and of the angles of attack associated with it are given. 3. An account of changes in area of the caudal fin during the cycle of lateral oscillation. Detailed measurements of these changes, which may involve a 30 % increase in height or a 20 % increase in area, are given. 4. An account of the varying speed of transverse movement of the caudal fin under various conditions and the relationship of this to the changes in area and amount of bending. Details of the way this transverse speed may be asymmetrically distributed relative to the axis of progression of the fish are given. 5. An account of the extent of the lateral propulsive movements in other parts of the body. These are markedly different in the different species studied. Measurements of the wave length of this movement and of the rate of progression of the wave down the body are given. 6. It is concluded that the fish has active control over the speed, the amount of bending and the area of the caudal fin during transverse movement. 7. The bending of the fin and its changes in area are considered to be directed to the end of smoothing out and making more uniform what would otherwise be an intermittent thrust from the oscillating tail region. 8. Some assessment is made of the proportion of the total thrust contributed by the caudal fin. This is found to vary considerably, according to the form of the lateral propulsive movements of the whole body, from a value of 45% for the bream to 84% for the dace.

Health is in the area of analysis of many sciences, e.g. psychology, sociology, pedagogy or philosophy. Each of them presents health and its specificity in a specific way. The most frequently indicated dimensions of health are: physical, mental (including intellectual and emotional), social, spiritual and transcendent. Contemporary pedagogical concepts of health emphasize that they can be considered as: value, resource (wealth), means, aim, a concept emphasizing the benefits of being healthy. Attention is also paid to the health mandala and the eudaimonic concept of family health. Thanks to these concepts, health is part of family care, educational and socialization processes. Parents, the main implementers of integrated interactions, create, among others, health behaviors, attitudes or lifestyle of their children. The subject of the research was the course of care, educational and socialization processes in professional foster families functioning in the city of Szczecin. The aim of the research was to find out about the specificity of family care, educational and socialization processes. The activities of professional foster families in caring for: children's health, their health attitudes and behaviors as well as health as a value in human life were especially emphasized. The research method was to triangulate the diagnostic survey method with the qualitative dimension of the case study. The technique used for the study was a questionnaire, in-depth qualitative interview and direct observation. The obtained empirical material was subjected to an in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis with elements of interpretability of the data, however, efforts are being made to make a holistic diagnosis of the family. Axiologization of health attitudes in the surveyed families and making children aware of the need to take care of their own health on the basis of resources at hand are particularly significant for the armory.

This chapter examined the perception of young Africans on American values as portrayed in popular entertainment programs. This chapter examined use DSTV as a study example because it is the most popular digital-pay TV with the highest subscription in Africa. Furthermore, the objectives are: (1) To ascertain the major type of western programmes preferred on DSTV among young Africans, (2) To examine the perception of young Africans on whether these TV channels influence the adoption of western values. This research adopted the use of the survey method to achieve the objectives of the study. A value contribution of this chapter is that global television has created multiple media products that have unique elements of American culture, which will distort African values. Also, the influence of American values will have a snowball effect on African youths in different spheres of life.

The feeding mechanisms of two rocky shore, intertidal, gammaridean amphipods are described. H. rupicola inhabits the lower intertidal zone and grazes primarily on macro-algae. P. australis inhabits rock pools of the littoral fringe. These pools are flushed with seawater only during rough seas and during periods of calm have a layer of amphipod faecal pellets covering the bottom. No macro-algae grow in these pools. P. australis is microphagous, grazing micro-algae from the rocks and from the faecal pellet layer. In addition to grazing, both species exhibit setal transfer feeding on the material cleaned from the body. P. australis also appears capable of filter feeding by an action involving only the mouthparts.

Research on some biological aspects of lambak pipih fish (Thynnichthys polylepis) was carried out in the Batanghari River, Jambi Province. Using the survey method, in March, May, August and October 2015. The station was determined by purposive random sampling which was divided into 3 regions: upstream in Mangunjaya and Puntikalo Villages, Tebo Regency, the middle in Penyengat Kecil and Kunangan Villages, Jambi Municipality and downstream in Sungai Kandis and Muara Sabak Villages. The size of the flat-rolled fish caught ranges from 7.2 cm in length and weighs 4.5 grams and 26 cm in weight, 162 grams. The largest length is between 10.1 - 15.0 cm totaling 55 heads, while the most weight is 1 - 30 grams totaling 52 heads. The relationship between long-weight flatfish follows the equation pattern: W = 0.013L2.901 with a value of b <3. So it can be said that flat-slawed fish have a negative allometric growth pattern. Its natural feed consists of macrophytes (water growths) as much as 49.9% as the main feed. Phytoplankton supplementary feed is 22.6% (Chlorophyceae 10.4%; Bacillariophyceae 8.1% and Cyanophyceae 4.1%, and detritus 17.4%. Additional feed is 0.8% Protozoa; 0.5% Rotifera and Crustaceae 0 , 4% and the unidentified part was 8.4%. Thus flat or motak fish were classified into groups of herbivorous fish or plant eaters.
