This study aims to analyze the problematic analysis of science learning based on local wisdom and the solution in terms of its solution in terms of several aspects, namely: curriculum, teachers, students, learning strategies, assessments, facilities and infrastructure. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research data was obtained through literature review and giving questionnaires to 65 respondents. The respondents came from 201 teachers who are alumni at one of the universities in Mataram City who are members of WAG IKA (WhatsApp Group Alumni Association). The questionnaire contains a list of six open-ended questions. The results of the study provide information that curriculum changes are expected to answer the needs of the times and consider local wisdom according to the characteristics of each region, these changes require mental changes from curriculum implementers. The quantity of teachers is sufficient but the quality of teachers still needs to be improved, especially in designing learning tools based on local wisdom. From the student factor, the role of parents as well as motivation and interest in learning is important to improve so that learning outcomes are as expected, and students also care about local wisdom in their neighborhood. For this reason, teachers need good learning strategies in planning local wisdom-based learning processes in the classroom by considering authentic assessments that are able to measure aspects of students' attitudes, knowledge, and skills in learning science. Facilities and infrastructure that can support science learning activities based on local wisdom include: library facilities, science laboratories, multimedia laboratories, and objects of local wisdom around students.

The 2013 curriculum aims to form students who are ready to face the 21st century so that the 2013 curriculum is not only taught about aspects of knowledge but also aspects of skills. Thinking skills are the skills used in the 2013 curriculum, where one of the thinking skills students need is expertise in analytical thinking. These skills are necessary for science learning. Analytical thinking skills can be improved if the teacher trains them correctly, both from the learning model and learning strategies. This study examines learning models and learning tools that can improve analytical thinking skills. Learning based on inquiry learning is expected to improve students' analytical thinking skills. The findings of this study, it is known that inquiry-based models and tools can improve analytical thinking skills because they start from a problem. The problems given are then discussed with the group to find information that fits the situation and find ways to solve the problem nicely by conducting experiments or observations, then summing up the results obtained and communicating them well. Analytical thinking skills are closely related to problem-solving. So with analytical thinking skills, students will quickly identify and solve a problem.

While countries are facing different stages in their COVID-19 infection rates, worldwide there are millions of students affected by universities’ facilities closures due to the pandemic. Some institutions have enforced strategies to transfer some courses to a virtual modality, but many Dental Schools have been challenged to deal with a situation which requires emergency measures to continue the academic course in the middle of lock-downs and social distancing measures. Despite the fact that the number of online academic programs available, especially graduate programs, has increased in diverse modalities, this pandemic forced e-learning processes to develop abruptly. The likelihood of using e-learning strategies in dentistry was substantiated in the scientific literature and an overview of these opportunities is presented. Additionally, the experience of the University of Costa Rica Faculty of Dentistry is presented, as it was evident that some of the key elements in a e-learning environment needed a quick enhancement and initiation of some processes was required. First, it was necessary to categorize the academic courses depending on their virtualization's possibility (curricula analysis and classification), to better understand the extent of the impact and the work needed to contain, as far as the possibilities allowed, negative consequences on students learning process. Second, teachers needed further training in the application of virtual strategies which they hadn’t used before. do Third, an evaluation of the students’ conditions and needs was conducted in a form of a survey. Finally, teachers and students activated the available virtual platforms. For many Dental Schools, this virtualization process is an ongoing progress although it was abruptly imposed, but this moment indeed represents an enormous opportunity to move forward and get immerse in the virtualization environment as a teaching/learning experience.

In the context of ongoing debate about the relationship between strategy training and autonomous learning, this study set out in the belief that they are inextricably linked and sought to explore three important aspects of learner strategy development more deeply. An experiment was designed to investigate the effectiveness of learner training with three groups of Saudi students taking a course in English for Medical Purposes: control (no treatment), offline (treatment delivered on paper), and online (online treatment). The treatments used supplementary learning material focused on language learning strategies (LLS). The design and the delivery of the treatments was informed by Rubin, Chamot, Harris, and Anderson (2007), Cohen (1998), Murphy and Hurd (2011), and Murphy (2008a). This paper sought to answer three research questions related to the impact of learner training on students’ attitudes, awareness, and use of LLS in relation to their autonomous abilities after exposure to the treatment. Qualitative data from students’ reflective writings, interviews and focus group discussion was used to answer these questions. For the two treatment groups, the treatment impact was found to be positive in relation to the research questions and negative in the control. The online group outperformed the offline one in all the three investigated aspects.
