ABSTRAK                                                                        Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas nira aren sebagai pengencer alternatif dalam proses pembekuan (kriopreservasi) semen kambing boer.Kriopreservasi semen kambing boer menggunakan pengencer tris-gliserol-kuning telur (P1 73-7-20%), nira aren-gliseol-kuning telur(masing-masing P2 74-6-20%, P3 73-7-20%, dan P4 72-8-20%) dan andromed (P5 tanpa mengandung kuning telur dan gliserol). Parameter evaluasi meliputi motilitas, viabilitas, dan membrane plasma utuh setelah pengenceran, ekuilibrasi dan thawing.  Evaluasi motilitas pasca thawing menunjukkan P5 52% berbeda nyata (P<0.05) dengan P1 42%, selanjutnya P5 dan P1 berbeda sangat nyata (P<0.05) dengan P2 8%, P3 6% dan P4 12%.  Viabilitas pasca thawing menunjukkan P5 65,4% tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) dengan P1 61,8%, akan tetapi P5 dan P1 berbeda sangat nyata (P<0.05) dengan P2 26,2%, P3 29,8%, dan P4 34%.  Membran plasma utuh (MPU) pasca thawing menunjukkan P5 66,2% tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) dengan P1 65,4%, akan tetapi keduanya berbeda sangat nyata (P<0.05) dengan P2 39%, P3 38%, dan P4 36,2%.  Disimpulkan kriopreservasi semen kambing boer dengan pengencer nira aren dan gliserol pada konsentrasi berbeda belum dapat dipergunakan sebagai sumber bibit berdasarkan standar nasional Indonesia.Kata Kunci : Kambing boer, semen, nira arenABSTRACTThe experiment was conducted to determine the effect of sugar palm juice as alternative extender for cryopreservation process of boer semen.Tris-glycerol-egg yolk (P1 73-7-20%), Sugar palm juice-glyserol-egg yolk (P2 74-6-20%, P373-7-20%, dan P4 72-8-20%), and andromed (P5) used as a extender  in the cryopreservation process of boer semen.  Sperm motility (%), live sperm (%) and sperm membrane integrity (%) were recorded after diluted, equilibration and freeze-thawing.  Result of post thawing motility showed that P5 52% was significantly different (P <0.05) with P1 42%, then P5 and P1 were significantly different (P <0.05) with P2 8%, P3 6% and P4 12%. Viability after thawing showed P5 65.4% was not significantly different (P> 0.05) with P1 61.8%, but P5 and P1 significantly different (P <0.05) with P2 26.2%, P3 29.8 %, and P4 34%. Spermmembrane integrity post-thawing showed P5 66.2% was not significantly different (P> 0.05) with P1 65.4%, but both were very significantly different (P <0.05) with P2 39%, P3 38% and P4 36.2%. Dates seeds are one of the byproducts of the date palm juice industry which has the potential for further processing. Dates seeds contain active compounds that are known to have ability to inhibit αglucosidase. This study aims to measure the activity of 70% ethanol extract and the fraction of date palm seeds with a mechanism in inhibiting αglucosidase. The measurement of inhibitory activity was carried out by extracting date palm seeds using 70% water and ethanol. The extraction product is then fractionated with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, n-butanol, and water. Then the total phenolic and flavonoid calculations were calculated for each extract and fraction. Measurement of α-glucosidase inhibition activity was measured based on reaction of substrate to enzyme by the addition of inhibitors. The results showed that the ethanolextract had the highest total phenolic and flavonoid, which were 76.86 mg GAE / g and 21.19 mg QE / g, respectively. n-hexane fraction have the best inhibitory activity seen from the IC50 value, which is 12.69 mg/L. The kinetics of inhibition of 70% ethanol extract of date palm seeds are mixed inhibition. Keywords: α-glucosidase, date seeds, flavonoids, kinetic inhibition, phenolics

This study aims to determine to determine the effect of land spinach plant growth due to the provision of liquid organic fertilizer palm sugar and to determine the right concentration of palm sugar palm POC to the growth of land spinach plants. This experiment used a single factor randomized block design consisting of 4 replications of 4 treatments. The best experimental results on plant height and number of leaves, leaf length and leaf width aged 14 and 24 HST were influenced by the use of palm juice 40 ml / L water with a height of 19.59 cm and 32.13 cm number of leaves 6.34 and 12.25 strands, leaf length 13.71 and 15.75 while leaf widths are 1.74 and 3.48 cm.

The athlete's achievement is related to the athlete's performance in a match. The performance can be seen in blood pressure and pulse. The administration of carbohydrateelectrolyte drinks influenced blood pressure and pulse. Drinks combination of sari dates and NaCl contain carbohydrates and electrolytes which helps to improve the performanceof athletes by delaying fatigue. This research to determine the effect of combination palm juice extracts and NaCl on blood pressure and the period of recovery of the pulse of a soccer athlete. The quasi-experimental cross over study was completed. This research was carried out in the Wates square. Subjects in this study were Hizbul Wathan Wates Football School(SSB) athletes. The subjects received one experimental used 300 ml combination drink of palm juice and NaCl or control drink, namely sugar water after a washout period of six days. Blood pressure measurements were carried out fifteen minutes before exercise and fifteen minutes after exercise, while pulse measurements were carried out fifteen minutesbefore exercise and five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes after exercise. The statistical test used was Shapiro Wilk, Paired t-test and Independent T-test. The results of statistical analysis showed that there was no significant effect on the combination of dates, and NaCl combined with systole and diastolic blood pressure (p> 0.05), and there was a significant effect on the combination of dates palm juice and NaCl on pulse recovery five minutes, ten minutes and fifteen minutes after exercise (p <0.05). There was no significant effect on the combination of date palm juice and NaCl on blood pressure, and there was a significant effect on the combination of dates and NaCl combination drinks on the recovery of pulsefive minutes, ten minutes and fifteen minutes after exercise. Keywords: Dates, NaCl, Soccer, Blood Pressure, Pulse

Palm tuak is one of the traditional drink that is usually consumed by majority people in Bali. Tuak palm is produced from fermented palm juice. The fermentation process makes sucrose contained in palm juice will turn into alcohol and continues to acetic acid. The aim of this research is to know the characteristic objective and subjective palm tuak (Arenga pinnata) based on the storage time. The method in this research was quasi experiment design. The samples of palm tuak were stored at room temperature (24-30°C) on the first day to fifth day. This research was conducted by measuring characteristics objective and subjective at palm tuak, determination of ethanol's concentration by gas chromatography (GC), determination of the pH by pH stick, determination of total acid by titration method, and organoleptic test by acceptance test method. The results showed that the ethanol content obtained during time storage of first to fifth day are 8,1512%, 8,234%, 9,117%, 10,6214%, dan 11,615% respectively. The pH was determined is 4. While total acid obtained during time storage of first to fifth day are 0,321%, 0,421%, 0,433%, 0,472%, dan 0,480%. The result of organoleptic test palm tuak showed that palm tuak that were stored on the first day are the most preferred among the others in terms of taste, color, and aroma.

Red Sayer is one of the date varieties from the United Arab Emirates. This variety is one type of dates that is imported into Indonesia and used as processed date palm juice producing waste, namely date seeds. Date seeds can be made into some coffee that is rich in antioxidants and does not contain caffeine. The purpose of this study is to determine the chemical characteristics, antioxidant activity, total phenol, and caffeine contents in coffee of the Red Sayer variety date seeds. Coffee of date seeds is made into powder and then analyzed for its contents of water, ash, protein, fat, carbohydrates and total sugar, besides its antioxidant activity, total phenol, and caffeine levels. The results of the analysis obtained are, as follows: 4.42±0.01% water, 1.17±0.04% ash, 8.55±0.64% protein, 7.34±0.07% fat, 78.52±0.76% carbohydrate, 16.39±0.01% total sugar, 23.81±0.22 µg/mL antioxidant activity (IC50) and 340.65±1.53 mg GAE / 100g total phenol, while caffeine is not detected. Red Sayer date seed coffee, therefore, can be a source of carbohydrates and natural antioxidants that does not contain caffeine.

Abstract: Mother Maternity needed drinks and foods that contain lots of sugar elements, this is because of the amount of contraction of the muscles of the uterus when it will remove the baby, even more so if it takes a long time. Purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the consumption of palm juice at the end of pregnancy to the first stage of labor progress and the amount of bleeding during childbirth. The design of this study using a quasi-experimental design with the design of a static comparison group, sampling technique using purposive sampling approach, analysis of data Bivariate statistical tests using independent sample t-test. Hypothesis test results with respect to the progress of the first stage of labor is obtained t count -3.234 while t table at dk n-2 (58) was 2,002 so that Ho refused because -3.234> 2.002 means "no influence between the consumption of palm juice regularly in late pregnancy with progress first stage of labor in primiparous in the BPM area of South Klaten Klaten district. On the amount of bleeding obtained t count -3.131 while t table at dk n-2 (58) was 2,002 so that Ho refused because -3.131> 2.002 means "no influence between the consumption of palm juice regularly in late pregnancy with the bleeding amount of labor. In conclusion, there is the influence of the consumption of palm juice regularly in late pregnancy with the bleeding amount of labor.

Abstract: Sarikurma, Pregnancy, Anemia, Hemoglobin. Dates also have many benefits including increasing the number of platelets, preventing blood clots, prevent strokes and heart attacks, prevent uterine bleeding, thin brain during fasting, increase energy, hindering the process of aging, prevent constipation and smooth bowel movement, reduce blood cholesterol, keeping eye health and good for the nervous system. Aim. To determine the effectiveness of the addition of palm juice against anemia in pregnant women at health centers Wedi Klaten district. This type of research is experimental, quasi-experimental approach, using a pretest-posttest control group design. population (N) = 303 people, found the number of samples (S) as many as 50 people. Of the 50 people, will be dividedinto two equal groups, 25 people will be used as the treatment group (giving palm juice) and 25 will be used as the control group (without a date palm juice). In the group without extract dates, respondents consumed MMN. Data were analyzed using t-test. Results.Anemia hemoglobin levels of pregnant women who were given MMN average was 10.4 mmHg. Hemoglobin levels of pregnant women are anemic before given Sarikurma average of 10.38 and after Sarikurma by an average of 10.84. Conclusion. Sarikurma more effective compared to MMN with p = 0.045 (p <0.05).

Nipah instead was one of the most fatal outbreaks of diseases in the mankind which was initially assumed as Japanese encephalitis. A multidisciplinary exploration was done at several levels of microbiology, histopathology and genetics which led to the discovery of a new paramyxovirus named Nipah virus (NiV). The disease was primarily identified in Malaysia in 1998 and named after a village, Sungai Nipah. The main mode of transmission in the Malaysian outbreaks was thought to be the consumption of bat’s dropping, urine and fruit partially eaten by pigs. In Bangladesh and northeast India, the virus was directly transmitted from bats to human through consumption of raw date palm juice. To limit the epidemic, coordinated efforts by health care providers have become mandatory. This article gives a note about the NiV, its infection and on-going researches on its management strategies. Data were collected using electronic media consisting of articles, books and websites.
