One of the complications of pregnancy which is quite dangerous is preeclampsia. Increased blood pressure is a major indicator for pregnant women from preeclampsia. Various complications lead to increased risk of mortality and morbidity in the mother and fetus. During the birth process, the fetus that is conceived by a mother with preeclampsia, have a higher risk of developing neonatal asphyxia. This study aims was to determine the risk of preeclampsia on the incidence of neonatal asphyxia in dr. Sayidiman Magetan Hospital in 2018. The method used was observational with a cross sectional design. Data were collected using patient medical records. The results showed there was a difference in the incidence of neonatal asphyxia in preeclampsia and non- preeclampsia pregnant women (p = 0.000). Pregnant women with preeclampsia had a higher risk of giving birth with neonatal asphyxia (OR=3,071). In this study, it can be concluded that the risk of incidence of neonatal asphyxia is 3 times higher in preeclampsia than in non-preeclampsia at dr. Sayidiman Magetan in 2018.

Background: Angiogenic and antiangiogenic imbalances play a major role in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia. Increased production of sFlt-1 by the placenta causes free circulating PIGF and VEGF concentrations to lower because it is bound by sFlt-1. Measuring levels of angiogenic and antiangiogenic proteins as biomarkers indicates placental dysfunction and distinguishes preeclampsia from other disorders. This study aims to analyze the levels of angiogenic and antiangiogenic molecules in pregnant women at risk for preeclampsia. Methods: The study with a cross-sectional design was carried out in 11-15 weeks gestational age whom had a risk of preeclampsia with 30 samples in primary health care starting April-August 2018. Blood serum was measured by molecular levels of VEGF, PlGF, sFlt-1, and sFlt-1/PlGF ratio using the ELISA method. Data analysis used Pearson product moment test. Results: The mean of VEGF levels are 15.5±21.6, PlGF 89.7±55.5, sFlt-1 11519.4±5126.0 and the ratio sFlt-1/PlGF 166.7±102.1. Correlation value of risk factors for preeclampsia with molecular levels of VEGF r= -0.05; p = 0.76, PlGF r= -0.21; p = 0.26, sFlt r= 0.01; p =0.99 and ratio sFlt-1/PlGF r = 0.10; p = 0.58.Conclusions: The higher the total score of preeclampsia risk factor, the lower the molecular level of VEGF and PlGF is. Moreover, the higher the total score of preeclampsia risk factor, the higher the molecular level sFlt-1 and the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio is. There are no significant correlation between total score of preeclampsia risk factor and levels of molecule VEGF, PlGF, sFlt-1 and sFlt-1/PlGF ratio.

HIGHLIGHTS1. Pregnant women infected with COVID 19 have a higher risk of maternal fetal mortality and morbidity.2. The available evidences show a safety profile in all type of COVID vaccines in pregnancy.3. Vaccination in pregnant women will decrease pregnancy complications, adverse pregnancy outcomes, and maternal death risk.4. The benefit of COVID vaccination exceeds the potential risk in pregnant women.5. Pregnant women are strongly recommended to receive COVID vaccine. ABSTRACTCOVID-19 pandemic has been lasting for years, and pregnant women encounter an increased risk of mortality and morbidity. Until now, vaccine COVID-19 has been developed and shows a promising result. Unfortunately, pregnant women are consistently excluded from receiving a new vaccine. Because pregnant women are excluded from participating in a clinical trial of vaccines related to safety issues, this exclusion cycle prevents pregnant women from receiving the vaccine that may benefit them. In this review article, the author provides evidence, data, and the reason why vaccination of pregnant women should be started in Indonesia, at least in a clinical trial, especially for health workers and women with comorbidities.

Pregnant women have an increased risk of vulvovaginal candidosis. Recurrent candidosis is under debate as a contributor to preterm birth, and vertical transmission may cause diaper dermatitis and oral thrush in the newborn. Apart from cultural methods, the gold standard for diagnosing candidosis is Gram staining, which is time-consuming and requires laboratory facilities. The objective of this prospective study was to validate a point-of-care vaginal yeast detection assay (SavvyCheckÔ Vaginal Yeast Test) and to evaluate it in asymptomatic pregnant women. We enrolled 200 participants, 100 of whom had vulvovaginal candidosis according to Gram stain (study group) and 100 were healthy pregnant controls (control group). Of these, 22 participants (11%) had invalid test results. The point-of-care test of the remaining 85 and 93 study participants in the study and control groups, respectively, showed a sensitivity of 94.1%, specificity of 98.9%, positive predictive value of 90.3%, and negative predictive value of 99.4% when compared with Gram stain. In conclusion, we found a high correlation between the SavvyCheckÔ Vaginal Yeast Test and Gram-stained smears during pregnancy. This suggests a potential role of this point-of-care test as a screening tool for asymptomatic pregnant women in early gestation.

Abstract: Creatinine is the end result of the metabolism of muscle creatine phosphate which was synthesized in the kidney. Serum creatinine level can normally decrease during pregnancy due to hyperfiltation of the renal glomeruli. Estimation of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) with CKD-EPI formula is beneficially used in populations with GFR >60 ml/min/1.73m2 especially in pregnant women. The creatinine levels of normal pregnant women are lower than of non-pregnant women and pregnant women with pre-eclampsia. This study was aimed to obtain the serum creatinine level and estimated GFR (eGFR) in normal pregnant women. This was a descriptive observational study with a cross sectional design. Samples were obtained by using non-probability sampling of purposive sampling method. Blood samples of 30 normal pregnant women were obtained at three Public Health Centers (Minanga, Sario, and Bahu Manado) from October to November 2017. The laboratory examinations revealed that all samples (100%) showed decreased serum creatinine levels with a mean of 0.53 mg/dL and increased eGRF >90 ml/min/1.73m2. Conclusion: During pregnancy, there was an increase in eGFR and a decrease in serum creatinine level in all trimesters.
