Bakkara is a village with tourism potential in Geoarea Sibandang, Toba Caldera Geopark, one of UNESCO Global Geopark. This research was conducted to examine and review the geotourism development in Bakkara tourist destinations. Furthermore, the output of this research is to preserve the value of geotourism such as conservation, education, economy, and promotion, especially in public facilities. The method used in this study is a qualitative method through observation and focus group discussion. The results show that public facilities in the development of geotourism have been implemented but have not significantly affected tourism, and require some improvements.

As a maritime ethnic, Butonese people migrated to some places. A rather large amount of them are in Province of Maluku, Indonesia. This study aims at investigating Butonese cultural landscape in their new migrant region. Is there any different? If this study also aims to know social interaction among ethnics and how it affects Butonese cultural landscape dynamics. This study took place in Negeri Kawa, western part of Seram Regency, Maluku Province, on November 2015. The method used in the study was a qualitative method with in depth interview by snowball and triangulation technique, observation participation, focus group discussion (FGD), and literature study. The result showed that there is a different between Butonese cultural landscape in Buton and Negeri Kawa. Stereotype, presumption, and prejudice to Butonese people also occur. However, it is not always negative because from those three things, the process of acculturation and adaptation as a form of respect and prevention of Butonese culture can occur in Negeri Kawa.

This study aims to explore transparency and accountability of political parties in Surakarta. This study uses a qualitative method. Data were gathered through focus group discussion. The findings show that political parties do not understand financial report of this entity’s financial assistance under PSAK 45 and they use simple bookkeeping. Political parties’s financial assistance is not audited by external auditor and there are some audit findings. The transparency principle is not achieved because financial report only for internal parties. This study raises one interesting result that political parties need the role of accountant to make their reports more accountable.

Plantation and forestry areas can become new tourist destinations that offer natural beauty and education. In addition, with the development of agro-tourism in one tourist destination area, it will provide benefits for increasing the income of the community and the government. The potential of this natural tourism must be maintained until later it can be inherited to future generations. For this reason, the efforts of the surrounding community are needed to continue to preserve nature and its characteristics well. Cooperation of all parties is needed so that the development and continuity of the agro tourism village is in accordance with what is expected together. One of them is the dissemination of information about the environment to the people of Paledah Village, Pangandaran Regency. The method of implementing PPM was conducted with a focus group discussion conducted by village officials, agro-tourism village developers, PKK cadres, PAUD teachers and PPM implementation teams. The FGD resulted in the dissemination of a guidebook on environmental care information. In conclusion, the people of Paledah village have an environmentally caring attitude that can be seen from their daily behavior by always maintaining cleanliness, active community service, saving water and energy and being able to invite the surrounding community to take care of the environment. Daerah perkebunan dan perhutanan bisa menjadi tujuan wisata baru yang menawarkan keindahan alam dan pendidikan. Selain itu, dengan berkembangnya agro wisata di satu daerah tujuan wisata akan memberikan manfaat untuk peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat dan pemerintah. Potensi wisata alam ini harus tetap dipertahankan hingga kelak dapat diwariskan pada generasi di masa mendatang. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya masyarakat sekitar untuk terus melestarikan alam maupun kekhasannya dengan baik. Diperlukan kerjasama semua pihak agar perkembangan dan kelangsungan desa wisata agro ini sesuai dengan yang diharapkan bersama. Salah satunya dengan diseminasi informasi peduli lingkungan pada masyarakat Desa Paledah Kabupaten Pangandaran. Metode pelaksanaan PPM ini dilakukan dengan focus group discussion yang dilaksanakan oleh aparatur desa, pengembang desa agrowisata, para kader PKK, guru PAUD dan tim pelaksana PPM. Dari FGD tersebut dihasilkan upaya desiminasi berupa buku panduan mengenai informasi peduli lingkungan. Kesimpulannya masyarakat desa Paledah memiliki sikap peduli lingkungan yang dapt terlihat dari perilaku sehari-hari dengan selalu menjaga kebersihan, aktif kerja bakti, hemat air dan energi serta mampu mengajak masyarakat sekitarnya untuk ikut peduli lingkungan.

This research was motivated by the  competitions phenomenon between  universities  to get the public/stakeholders trust. That’s the public trust have more influence on development of educational institution. Based on those phenomena, Researcher chose the Magister Program of  PAI (Islamic Education) IAIN (State Islamic Institution) Surakarta as field of research. The Magister Program of PAI (MPAI) as new program must built good image for stakeholders.This research was conducted to reveal the perception of Stakeholders on the Magister Program of PAI IAIN Surakarta. This research used qualitative design to analyze  data. The data was obtained through  interview and Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and used the triangulation technic to obtain the data’s validity .The results of this research are the stakeholders internal judged that, 1. MPAI can accommodates the hopes of the graduates of S1,  and teachers in the surrounding area can continue their studies to Magister program; 2. the vision, mission and MPAI curriculum will be able to respon community demans in the future; 3. MPAI still does not have adequate  facilities yet; 4  some stakeholders see that most of the MPAI lectures had the feasibility standard to teach at MPAI; but others don’t agree with the judge.   Key word: Perseption, Stakeholders.

Research on smoked fish packaging has only focused on its functional side to increase product life. Meanwhile, research on smoked fish packaging design that focuses on improving and expanding markets has never existed. Until now, smoked fish was sold without packaging even though the amount of production continued to increase. The purpose of this study was to determine consumer preferences for the design of smoked fish packaging. With the recognition of these preferences, it is expected that the smoked fish industry players can apply it so that it can increase the sale value and the number of sales. This study uses focus group discussion as a qualitative method and conjoint analysis as a quantitative method. Color, material, shape, size, brand, and additional information is the attribute chosen at the focus group discussion as a representation of smoked fish packaging to determine the level of its preference. The results of this study indicate that brands have the highest preference compared to others (importance values 30.303%).

The ceramic industry in Purwakarta is one of the industry icons that continuously decreases competitiveness. To improve the competitiveness of the industry, collaboration between actors or institutions that have roles and functions in the development of the industry is needed. The purpose of study is to analyze the relations among actors or institutions, the factors that influence collaboration among actors and to build collaboration models in the development of ceramic industry in Purwakarta, Indonesia.  This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques used interviews and focus group discussion. Data analysis uses interactive model using mactor analysis  The results of study show that relations between actors show that the development of the ceramics industry in Purwakarta is managed independently, not collaboratively. This research suggests that the development of the Purwakarta ceramics industry needs to be done by using a collaboration model with one institution acting as a leading sectorIndustri keramik di Purwakarta adalah salah satu ikon industri yang terus menurunkan daya saing. Untuk meningkatkan daya saing industri, diperlukan kolaborasi antara aktor atau institusi yang memiliki peran dan fungsi dalam pengembangan industri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara aktor atau institusi, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kolaborasi antar aktor dan untuk membangun model kolaborasi dalam pengembangan industri keramik di Purwakarta, Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan diskusi kelompok terfokus. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif menggunakan analisis mactor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antar aktor dalam pengembangan industri keramik di Purwakarta dikelola secara parsial-mandiri, bukan secara kolaboratif. Penelitian ini menyarankan dalam pengembangan industri keramik Purwakarta perlu dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan model kolaborasi dengan satu lembaga yang bertindak sebagai leading sector.

The objective of this research is to analyze the role of internal initiative driven by pesantren leaders and external development provided by the government in building pesantren entrepreneurship. This research was conducted by utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, with a sample of 5 pesantrens in Garut Regency, Indonesia. The data obtained in this research was collected through focus group discussion (FGD) with a number of stakeholdrs as informant namely leaders of the 5 pesantrens taken as sample along with a couple of their students. Based on field study, we discovered that the success of pesantren in building entrepreneurship activities are dominantly determined by internal initiative and creativity driven by entrepreneurs/managers/ initiators of pesantren, supported by their students. Other pesantrens that have succeeded to build their economic independencies have also received assistance from the government through one pesantren one product (OPOP) program as external development driving factor, which motivated these pesantrens to contribute and to help the government to achieve the goals of this program.

Mahasiswa S1 Psikologi merupakan bagian dari masa depan bangsa yang diharapkan mampu memberikan teladan dalam kepemimpinan di masyarakat luas. Setiap prilaku dan ucapan yang disampaikan diharapkan menjadi contoh dan teladan yang baik untuk masyarakatnya. Agar hal tersebut terlaksana dengan baik maka diperlukan dan menjadi keharusan untuk dibekali keterampilan berbicara yang baik dan santun, sehingga mereka mampu menjadi tenaga-tenaga pamong yang handal, kompeten, tangguh dan professional dalam menangani permasalahan-permasalahan masyarakat dan memberikan pelayanan kepada public. Strategi yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pelatihan Public Speaking untuk profesi psikologi ini ialah menggunakan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). FGD itu sendiri ialah diskusi terfokus dari suatu grup dalam membahas suatu masalah tertentu. Diharapkan setelah ini Mahasiswa mendapatkan manfaat secara komprehensif dalam keterampilan dasar dan lanjutan untuk penerapan kepiawaian berbicara yang baik dan santun dihadapan public sehingga menjadi motivator/interest rekan sejawat di lingkungan kampus.    Kata Kunci : Profesi Psikologi, Ilmu komunikasi, Public Speaking Abstract: Undergraduate Psychology students are part of the nation's future who are expected to be able to provide role models in leadership in the wider community. Every behavior and speech conveyed is expected to be a good example and role model for the community. In order for this to be carried out properly, it is necessary and imperative to be equipped with good and polite speaking skills, so that they are able to become reliable, competent, tough and professional civil servants in dealing with community problems and providing services to the public. The strategy used in the Public Speaking training for the psychology profession is to use a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). FGD itself is a focused discussion of a group in discussing a particular problem. ABSTRACT The Research aims to gain a kinesthetic assessment models used in assessing the i-pop dance (modern dance), because judging a dance performance is often not objective and not based on the theory of dance. Element of subjectivity and sense of art of assessors tend to provide an assessment that is not in accordance with the provisions that must be measured or assessed.The method used by the mixed method, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, in which the grains analyzed through validity and reliability, resulting in a valid and reliable instrument with two calibration is the calibration phase 1 and phase 2. So that the instrument has good quality in the construct, the kualitatuf testing done through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) of experts consisting of choreographers, professional dancers, and academics in the field of dance and fine art.Based on these results , the instruments are to be used in competitions at each race event. These results are expected to solve the problem in any event the modern dance competition dance (i-pop dance), so that the assessors and the public is more intelligent and has a good attitude of appreciation in assessing dance. Keywords: i-pop dance (modern dance), assessment, kinesthetic, dance    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan model penilaian kinestetik yang diguna- kan untuk menilai Tari I-pop (modern dance). Penilaian suatu pertunjukan tari seringkali ti- dak objektif dan tidak didasari pada teori tentang tari, karena unsur subjektivitas dan sense of art dari penilai cenderung memberikan penilaian yang tidak sesuai dengan ketentuan yang harus diukur atau dinilai.Metode penelitian yang digunakan dengan mix method yaitu menggabungkan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif, di mana butir dianalisis melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas, se- hingga menghasilkan instrumen yang valid dan reliabel dengan dua kali kalibrasi yaitu kalibrasi tahap 1 dan tahap 2. Instrumen memiliki kualitas yang baik secara konstruk, maka pengujian kualitatif dilakukan melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dari para pakar yang terdiri atas koreografer, penari professional, dan akademisi di bidang seni tari dan seni rupa.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka instrumen sudah dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan lomba di setiap even perlombaan. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat memecahkan ma- salah dalam setiap even lomba tari modern dance (i-pop dance), sehingga penilai dan ma- syarakat lebih cerdas dan memiliki sikap apresiasi yang baik dalam menilai tari. Kata kunci: i-pop dance (modern dance), penilaian, kinestetik, tari

ABSTRACT  South Nias Regency is currently still in the category of lagging areas based on composite index in North Sumatera province. However, South Nias Regency has a variety of potential, especially maritime tourism potential, fisheries, and agriculture. Focus Group Discussion with the stakeholders in South Nias Regency was done to formulate the right business model in South Nias regency. Based on the results of FGD and the analysis of business model conducted, business activities that can be done by South Nias Regency was to focus on the development of maritime tourism activities through surfing and agroindustry activities. The business Model would be able to succeed if the cooperation between stakeholders, such as the central government, local government, tourism business, and local communities with various models of operational cooperation. Keywords: business model, disadvantaged area, South Nias, maritime tourism.   ABSTRAK Kabupaten Nias Selatan saat ini masih masuk dalam kategori daerah tertinggal berdasarkan Indeks Komposit Ketertinggalan di Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Akan tetapi, Kabupaten Nias Selatan memiliki berbagai potensi, terutama potensi wisata bahari, perikanan, dan pertanian. Focus Group Discussion bersama para stakeholder yang ada di Kabupaten Nias Selatan pun dilakukan guna merumuskan model bisnis yang tepat di Kabupaten Nias Selatan. Berdasarkan hasil FGD dan analisis model bisnis yang dilakukan, kegiatan bisnis yang dapat dilakukan oleh Kabupaten Nias Selatan adalah dengan memfokuskan pengembangan aktivitas pariwisata bahari melalui kegiatan berselancar dan agroindustry. Model bisnis tersebut akan dapat berhasil jika adanya kerjasama antar stakeholder, seperti Pemerintah Pusat, Pemerintah Daerah, Pelaku Usaha Wisata, dan Masyarakat Lokal dengan berbagai model kerjasama operasional Kata kunci: model bisnis, kawasan tertinggal, Nias Selatan, pariwisata bahari.
