Mahasiswa S1 Psikologi merupakan bagian dari masa depan bangsa yang diharapkan mampu memberikan teladan dalam kepemimpinan di masyarakat luas. Setiap prilaku dan ucapan yang disampaikan diharapkan menjadi contoh dan teladan yang baik untuk masyarakatnya. Agar hal tersebut terlaksana dengan baik maka diperlukan dan menjadi keharusan untuk dibekali keterampilan berbicara yang baik dan santun, sehingga mereka mampu menjadi tenaga-tenaga pamong yang handal, kompeten, tangguh dan professional dalam menangani permasalahan-permasalahan masyarakat dan memberikan pelayanan kepada public. Strategi yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pelatihan Public Speaking untuk profesi psikologi ini ialah menggunakan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). FGD itu sendiri ialah diskusi terfokus dari suatu grup dalam membahas suatu masalah tertentu. Diharapkan setelah ini Mahasiswa mendapatkan manfaat secara komprehensif dalam keterampilan dasar dan lanjutan untuk penerapan kepiawaian berbicara yang baik dan santun dihadapan public sehingga menjadi motivator/interest rekan sejawat di lingkungan kampus.    Kata Kunci : Profesi Psikologi, Ilmu komunikasi, Public Speaking Abstract: Undergraduate Psychology students are part of the nation's future who are expected to be able to provide role models in leadership in the wider community. Every behavior and speech conveyed is expected to be a good example and role model for the community. In order for this to be carried out properly, it is necessary and imperative to be equipped with good and polite speaking skills, so that they are able to become reliable, competent, tough and professional civil servants in dealing with community problems and providing services to the public. The strategy used in the Public Speaking training for the psychology profession is to use a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). FGD itself is a focused discussion of a group in discussing a particular problem. It is hoped that after this students will get comprehensive benefits in basic and advanced skills for the application of good and polite speaking skills in front of the public so that it becomes a motivator / interest for colleagues in the campus environment.   Keyword: Profession Psychology, Communication Studies, Public Speaking

The purpose of this research is to develop a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) model in learning personality development as an effort to improve students' public speaking skills. Through the FGD learning model students are invited to have the ability to think critically, creatively and innovatively in preparing presentations and discussions in a group. The results of the implementation of the FGD model in learning are expected to be able to develop students in an effort to improve public speaking skills, so they have competitiveness in facing of society 5.0. This research phase refers to the six steps of developing the ASSURE model. Development of FGD learning model in the form of presentations and discussions conducted online as well as gathering audience opinion data based on the specified themes. The object is the students who take courses in Personal Development and subject is public speaking. The results obtained is a maximum value=10  based  on  10  components  of public speaking skills assessment, an average score=8.1, and a standard deviation=1.8. The grade is divided into A (Excellence), B (Good), and E (Fail)

<em>Pengukuran persepsi siswa mengenai disiplin, cara pandang siswa mengenai penetapan aturan di sekolah merupakan konstruk yang patut ditelaah dalam kajian empiris. Disiplin di sekolah terkait dengan batas-batas yang diberikan oleh pihak sekolah untuk membantu siswa merasa aman, mengoreksi dengan cara yang penuh kasih, positif dan logis, menunjukkan rasa hormat melalui role model perilaku yang konsisten. Penelitian ini mengkonstruk karakteristik psikometrik dari kedisiplinan siswa yang dapat memberikan kejelasan pemahaman sebagai bagian dari studi empiris dalam ranah psikologi pendidikan. Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksplorasi penyusunan alat ukur kedisiplinan siswa di sekolah menengah yang dikembangkan berdasarkan hasil elisitasi dari 32 partisipan melalui focus group discussion. Pengambilan data sebenarnya terhadap qualified volunteer sample dilakukan terhadap 478 siswa, yang dipilih dengan teknik convenience sampling, yaitu partisipan yang dipilih berdasarkan kriteria tertentu yang sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian dan bersedia terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Reduksi variabel menjadi faktor dilakukan melalui Exploratory Factor Analysis dengan menggunakan program PASW 18. Partisipan adalah remaja yang tinggal di Jakarta dan menempuh pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Rentang usia partisipan penelitian ini adalah berusia 11-17 tahun. Berdasarkan analisis Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), skala kedisiplinan yang terangkum dalam empat dimensi. Dimensi–dimensi yang terbentuk tersebut adalah deliquency, respect, value transfer dan integrity.</em>

This research was motivated by the  competitions phenomenon between  universities  to get the public/stakeholders trust. That’s the public trust have more influence on development of educational institution. Based on those phenomena, Researcher chose the Magister Program of  PAI (Islamic Education) IAIN (State Islamic Institution) Surakarta as field of research. The Magister Program of PAI (MPAI) as new program must built good image for stakeholders.This research was conducted to reveal the perception of Stakeholders on the Magister Program of PAI IAIN Surakarta. This research used qualitative design to analyze  data. The data was obtained through  interview and Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and used the triangulation technic to obtain the data’s validity .The results of this research are the stakeholders internal judged that, 1. MPAI can accommodates the hopes of the graduates of S1,  and teachers in the surrounding area can continue their studies to Magister program; 2. the vision, mission and MPAI curriculum will be able to respon community demans in the future; 3. MPAI still does not have adequate  facilities yet; 4  some stakeholders see that most of the MPAI lectures had the feasibility standard to teach at MPAI; but others don’t agree with the judge.   Key word: Perseption, Stakeholders.

This paper explores not only the attempt of integrating Speaking class activities and service learning but also its effects to the students. Under the topic of survey and interview with its environmental issues the students of third semester of English Department, Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta were asked to see closely the problems in their surroundings. By conducting a survey they examined the problems in their surroundings. Next, the result of the survey was shown to the experts and local officers by interviewing them in English. The students then were asked to find some solutions toward the problems. The last step was making a report by presenting their activities. Focus Group Discussion in reflection section was conducted to see whether or not the students were affected by the service learning activities. It shows that the activities contributed to the speaking skills ability and at the same time gave the awareness toward the problems found in their surroundings.

ABSTRACT The Research aims to gain a kinesthetic assessment models used in assessing the i-pop dance (modern dance), because judging a dance performance is often not objective and not based on the theory of dance. Element of subjectivity and sense of art of assessors tend to provide an assessment that is not in accordance with the provisions that must be measured or assessed.The method used by the mixed method, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, in which the grains analyzed through validity and reliability, resulting in a valid and reliable instrument with two calibration is the calibration phase 1 and phase 2. So that the instrument has good quality in the construct, the kualitatuf testing done through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) of experts consisting of choreographers, professional dancers, and academics in the field of dance and fine art.Based on these results , the instruments are to be used in competitions at each race event. These results are expected to solve the problem in any event the modern dance competition dance (i-pop dance), so that the assessors and the public is more intelligent and has a good attitude of appreciation in assessing dance. Keywords: i-pop dance (modern dance), assessment, kinesthetic, dance    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan model penilaian kinestetik yang diguna- kan untuk menilai Tari I-pop (modern dance). Penilaian suatu pertunjukan tari seringkali ti- dak objektif dan tidak didasari pada teori tentang tari, karena unsur subjektivitas dan sense of art dari penilai cenderung memberikan penilaian yang tidak sesuai dengan ketentuan yang harus diukur atau dinilai.Metode penelitian yang digunakan dengan mix method yaitu menggabungkan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif, di mana butir dianalisis melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas, se- hingga menghasilkan instrumen yang valid dan reliabel dengan dua kali kalibrasi yaitu kalibrasi tahap 1 dan tahap 2. Instrumen memiliki kualitas yang baik secara konstruk, maka pengujian kualitatif dilakukan melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dari para pakar yang terdiri atas koreografer, penari professional, dan akademisi di bidang seni tari dan seni rupa.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka instrumen sudah dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan lomba di setiap even perlombaan. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat memecahkan ma- salah dalam setiap even lomba tari modern dance (i-pop dance), sehingga penilai dan ma- syarakat lebih cerdas dan memiliki sikap apresiasi yang baik dalam menilai tari. Kata kunci: i-pop dance (modern dance), penilaian, kinestetik, tari

ABSTRACT According to Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) India 2009-2010, around 8.3% (13.4% among male and 2.5% among female) of people in Maharashtra are gutka users. Gutka consumption not only causes oral cancer, but has also been link ed with develop men t of oral su bmuco us fibrosis, a precancerous lesion. Considering its harmful effects, gutka and pan masala were banned by Maharashtra Government from July 19, 2012 disallowing their sale, manufacture, distribution and storage. Though the ban has come into enforcement, the evidence stating the extent of its implementation is sparse. The objectives of the study were to learn about perception of gutka ban, impact of the ban on gutka consumption, changes in the trend of tobacco related products consumption, availability of gutka to the public on demand and economic effects of the ban on users. A Focus Group Discussion was conducted among current and ex-gutka users on January 24, 2013 at Healis Sekhsaria Institute for Public Health, Navi Mumbai, India. A total of 11 male, ex-gutka users from different professions, participated in the discussion. The FGD lasted for 40 to 45 minutes. The verbal consent for participation in the FGD was taken from the respondents. The findings showed that with enforcement of the ban, 3 out of 11 respondents completely stopped consumption of gutka or any other tobacco product, whereas the rests switched to other tobacco products. All the respondents were aware about gutka ban and agreed that its a good step to reduce its consumption; however, most of them felt that the ban has not been implemented properly. According to them, the vendors still manage to sell gutka to their known regular customers. Since the ban has helped in compelling most of the users to quit gutka, it clearly implies that enforcement of ban with proper implementation is required to diminish gutka consumption among people. Bakkara is a village with tourism potential in Geoarea Sibandang, Toba Caldera Geopark, one of UNESCO Global Geopark. This research was conducted to examine and review the geotourism development in Bakkara tourist destinations. Furthermore, the output of this research is to preserve the value of geotourism such as conservation, education, economy, and promotion, especially in public facilities. The method used in this study is a qualitative method through observation and focus group discussion. The results show that public facilities in the development of geotourism have been implemented but have not significantly affected tourism, and require some improvements.

The service activities that have been carried out aim to provide an understanding of bullying prevention for student organizations at the Muhammadiyah University of Mataram. The implementation method used is in the form of socialization and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The socialization method is carried out online related to the delivery of material about preventing bullying among students and the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method is carried out online by providing education to students regarding forms of bullying and its prevention. Based on the results of the service activities that have been carried out, it can be seen that the level of student understanding of bullying prevention is high. Thus, it can be concluded that bullying prevention training activities can provide a high level of understanding among students.

Desa Cileunyi Wetan termasuk pada subdas Citarik dimana terdapat aliran anak-anak sungainya bermuara di Sungai Citarum. Isu lingkungan yang berkembang antara lain isu mengenai lahan kritis, konservasi air, sampah dan limbah pertanian, serta mitigasi bencana. Pengabdian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakter dan perkembangan kondisi lingkungan dan sosial ekonomi Desa Cileunyi Wetan berdasarkan pada kelima isu tersebut dengan mengurutkan prioritas isu agar dapat diketahui solusi efektif dari permasalahan yang berkembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk pengambilan sample adalah dengan menggunakan Snowball sampling dan Active Citizen Focus Group Discussion, sedangkan untuk membuat analisa menggunakan analisis kualitatif dan peran warga aktif. Hasil dan temuan dari pengabdian ini adalah urutan isu dengan menitikberatkan pada permasalahan sampah dan sanitasi, serta lahan kritis, yang dianggap sebagai faktor utama yang memberikan kontribusi yang besar pada permasalahan longsor dan banjir, serta konservasi air. Peran warga menjadi sangat penting dalam pengelolaan lingkungan untuk mengentaskan permasalahan tersebut, harus ditekankan pentingnya peran warga untuk dapat mengurangi permasalahan sampah dan sanitasi ini dengan meningkatkan perekonomian warga melalui pemanfaatan limbah dan penggunaan sanitasi yang tepat guna. Selain itu, diperlukan pengelolaan yang baik dan strategi dalam peningkatan produk olahan limbah dengan design dan fungsi produk agar dapat bersaing di pasar nasional maupun global. Oleh karena itu, selain sosialisasi dan penerapan hasil riset pada sektor pengolahan limbah menjadi produk yang diminati publik, dan kreatifitas design serta kualitas produk juga diperlukan tata kelola yang lebih jelas dan pasti, serta dukungan investasi dan pemasaran produksi. Kesemua ini mengerucut pada pengembangan BUMDES baik pengelolaannya dan jaringan usahanya.  Cileunyi Wetan village is a part of the Citarik subwatershed where it’s many streams disembogue in the Citarum River. The enviromental issues that has arisen includes critical lands, water conservation, garbage and agricultural waste, and disarte mitigation. This social service targets to identify the character and development of the environment and social economy of CIleunyi Wetan village based on the 5 aforementioned issues. Whilst also prioritzing issues in order to identify an effective solution to the miriad of developing issues. The research method used to collect samples is the Snowball sampling and Active Citizen Focus Group Discussion, whilst the analysis was conducted through a qualitative method with an active citizen role. The results and findings of the social service is that the priorities start at garbage and sanitation, critical land, which is seen as a major factor in landslides and floods, and finally water conservation. The role of the public becomes vital in environmental management in order to alleviate the issues, there needs to be emphasis on the role of the public in decreasing the garbage and sanitation issues through waste utilization and good sanitation practices, which in turn can increase the publics economy. There also needs to be good management and strategy in order to increase the value of the waste that is recycled. Especially design and functional aspects that will facilitate the products competitiveness nationally and globally. |Therefore, other than socialization and implementation of the research results in the waste recycling sector. And the creative designs and quality products, there is a need for better governance, and investment support and marketing. All this boils down to the development of the BUMDES, in its management and its networking.

This study examined the perception of children on reading, the audiovisual materials available for children in the public library, kinds of literature children love most, challenges inhibiting children from coming to the library, the lessons learnt and the implications of the findings. The survey took place in the children‘s department of the divisional library with twenty two (22) children who are registered members of the library. There were four (4) engagements with children using children‘s literature and audiovisual materials in reading. The instruments used were reading inventory, literature, focus group discussion (FGD) and observation technique. The study found out that the participants loved reading. While 20 participants loved books with pictures, 2 refuted the idea. The challenges revealed that the library is far from their residence, among others. It was recommended that more advocacies should be done to schools for more attendance to children‘s reading while more audiovisual materials should be provided for meaningful learning. The implication is that if children are not inspired with new reading facilities, their interest will wane which will affect academic and knowledge. With this, the national development will never be actualized because these children are the progressive population for resilient cities and communities.
