Metaphorical perceptions of sports management students in Turkey with regard to “leadership” notion

This study aims to analyze the metaphorical perceptions of sports management students in Turkey with regard to “leadership” notion. In the study, qualitative research method was used. The study group of the research was composed of 90 people studying at a Sports Management Department in a Faculty of Sports Sciences in 2020-2021 academic year in Turkey. In order to determine the metaphorical perceptions of prospective sports managers with regard to leadership Notion, the study required the participants to complete the sentence “Leadership is like... because...”. The descriptive analysis method was used for the analysis of the data. The analysis showed that metaphorical descriptions made by the participants with regard to leadership were composed of the themes of ‘providing guidance’, ‘influencing people’, ‘uniting people’ and ‘setting people in motion’. It was found that the most common metaphorical perception of participants with regard to leadership notion was ‘providing guidance’, followed by ‘influencing people’. It was also seen that the least common metaphorical perceptions of participants with regard to leadership were related to the themes of ‘setting people in motion’ and ‘uniting people’.

One of the factors that play a role in the success of Madrasahs is the potential for female teachers, considering that the teacher profession is very much in demand by women. And the research locus that will be researched by the author, the majority of the teachers are women. Based on this background, the following problems can be raised: 1) The potential of female teachers in improving the existence of MI Ma'arifTabanan Bali for the 2020 academic year? and 2) What are the constraints and solutions for the coaching program for female teachers at MI Ma'arifTabanan? This study uses a qualitative research method, which by definition is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written words or words from people or observable sources. Sources of data or words in this study were obtained by the author through interviews with people who can be trusted. In this study the authors collected data through several informants including: 1. Head of Madrasah. 2. Management of the Ma'arif Education Institute. 3. Teachers. 4. Employees. 5. Madrasah Committee. Based on the explanation of the results of the research and discussion by the author, it can be concluded that female teachers have the potential to improve the existence of Madrasah IbtidaiyahSanggulanTabanan for the 2020 Academic Year. This is in accordance with the theoretical study which states that potential is an ability that has various possibilities or hopes for further development, either in the form of strength, power, or ability that is obtained by the community directly or through a long process.

Abstract This study aimed at investigating the perceptions of children attending preschool education about protecting the environment through drawings. This study was carried out with a qualitative research method. The study group of this study consisted of 80 children among 48-60-month-old children attending preschool education in Nicosia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). In this study, the children were requested to explain their thoughts through drawings by asking the following question: “What can be done to protect the environment?” Then, the children were asked to describe their drawings orally. The descriptions of children were recorded in writing and analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the most common perception about protecting the environment was “not littering”. In addition to this, it was determined that the children had different perceptions as “not wasting water”, “not polluting nature”, “not starting a fire”, “not polluting the sea”, and “not cutting the trees”. It was concluded that the children had a perception of protecting the environment only from these aspects with the drawings that included reduce and respect dimensions of the 7R model. It was also concluded that they did not have a perception in the dimensions of reuse, rethink, reflect, recycle, and redistribute.

Abstract: The industry or restaurant business in Tomohon City has a very rapid growth. The purpose of this study was to analyze the benefits of competency assessment for waiters to ensure the quality of their services while working. The method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive analysis model. The research was conducted at 10 restaurants in Tomohon City. The results showed that as a reflection or image of the restaurant, it was judged by the visiting guests, which was determined by the competence of the waiter who worked, including the expertise of the waiter in serving customers directly. This is very crucial in giving a good impression or image and giving satisfaction to customers because they feel comfortable. This of course cannot be separated from a competency or knowledge of the profession in providing a table during the service. The results also show the need for competent waiters to have qualifications that are truly recognized in their fields which can be developed through trainings whose credibility is tested and recognized by the Professional Certification Board. Professional certification aims to provide recognition of competencies that have been obtained through learning, training, as well as work experience.

The aim of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the role of English subject to implant and to improve students’ university behavior to be honest, do not cheat on the test, and do not corrupt on their daily life. Subject of this study is the first semester student of PGSD the academic year of 2019/2020 University of Buana Perjuangan Karawang. In order to reach the goal of this study the writer uses qualitative research method with descriptive qualitative approach. While, technique of data collecting is done by observing, field studying, interviewing and documenting. The result of this study is expected to be able to have a contribution and is useful for all related parties, especially university or college in order to build students’ behavior to be honest, do not cheat on the test and do not corrupt in their life

This study aims to analyze the implementation and evaluation of quality development of PTAIN lecturers in Aceh. A qualitative research method and descriptive approach is applied in the research. The research result shows that the implementation of quality development of PTAIN lecturers in Aceh is done by referring to the strategic plan or programs prepared at the beginning of the year. The forms of implementation of lecturer quality development include room visits, inspection to lecturers’ learning devices, and providing opportunities for lecturers to increase their competence and professionalism through various exercises and benchmarking to other leading Islamic universities. The evaluation for the lecturers quality development is carried out through routine meetings, weekly, mid semester, and annually at the beginning of academic year. The results of the evaluation will become supplementary materials for the institutions in following up the lecturers’ performance on the lecturers’ daily activities. The development carried out to the lecturers are in the form of admonition, providing training and development to increase the lecturers’ competence and professionalism, and also doing routine religious lectures.

The objectives of this research was to know the process of learning English vocabulary by using guessing words game and to know the students’ problem in learning English vocabulary by using guessing words game for the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Palu in academic year of2019/2020 with the use of guessing words game technique. In this research, the researcher used qualitative research method. The researcher chose class VII D as sample which consisted of 23 students. In collecting the data, the researcher used four kinds of instruments, they were: observation,interview, test and document. Based on the observation, there are some problems in the teaching and learning. To solve those problems, the researcher implemented guessing words game as vocabulary activities. This research was conducted through classroom action research that consisted of two cycles. Each cycles consisted three meetings. The result of the research showed that there were some improvements of the students’ vocabulary. In cycle 1 average score was 62,86 there were some unsuccessful score. Meanwhile, in cycle 2 average score was 72,34 the implementation of guessing words game was successful in developing students vocabulary. Guessing words game gives better result to develop the students’ vocabulary. In other words, guessing words game is effective to use in teaching English vocabulary.

This article aims to analyze Indonesia’s Immigration policy in restricting the arrival of foreigners due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Through a qualitative research method and descriptive analysis approach, it can be explained how the concept of human security and state sovereignty affects the making and implementation of a series of policies to restrict the arrival of foreigners to Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. The author seeks to provide an analysis of how the Covid-19 pandemic has become a real threat to global human security and how the Indonesian government seeks to protect the Indonesian people by limiting the arrival of foreigners to minimize the spread of Covid-19. The Indonesian government does not take a lockdown policy, but prefers policies that can protect health while protecting the economic activities of the Indonesian people. In the ‘New Normal’ way, Indonesia’s immigration policies continue to adapt to support economic recovery while supporting the implementation of health protocols.

The research is to find the dominant factors influencing students` pronunciation mastery at English department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera. This research is using qualitative research method. Total of participants are 10 English students academic year 2016/2017 in English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera who are getting the best mark in pronunciation class. Sample of the research was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument of the research is interview. The purpose of the interview is to get the real arguments about factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery. This research revealed that motivation is the dominant factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery. Most of the students were motivated to increase their pronunciation because they were motivated by native speakers-watching the western or English movies and songs. Besides, they also argued that they wanted to go to overseas so, they should produce the word with correctly pronounced to avoid misunderstanding for both speaker. Based on the data obtained, it can be stated that motivation is the dominant factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery in academic year 2016/2017 at English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera.

This article aims to reveal the affixation process using derivational affix per-/-an on Indonesian derived nouns based on the theory of derivational and inflectional morphology. This research was a qualitative research method by using the theory of structural linguistics and case grammar. The object of the research was a derivational affix per-/-an used on Indonesian derived nouns, and the data were sentences (utterances) whose nouns having the derivational affix per-/-an. The analysis method used was a distributional method. Viewed from the perspective of derivational and inflectional morphology, the affixation of the derivational affix per-/-an on the verbs (both base verbs and derived verbs) and on the noun can produce (1) behavioral nouns, (2) Action nouns, (3) actional instrumental nouns, (4) behavioral instrumental nouns, (5) behavioral locative noun, (6) process nouns, (7) collective nouns, (8) abstract nouns. This paper explores the origins of Emmaus pilgrimage heritage site. Religious and different pilgrimage sites will be discussed. The focus of this paper is to describe the establishment and origins of Emmaus pilgrimage heritage site and also the role played by Abbot Francis Pfanner in the establishment of this pilgrimage heritage site. Furthermore, the paper discusses the tourism perspective of religious pilgrimage sites. Emmaus heritage site draws visitors from all over the world, and such visitation is linked to religious-travel. A key objective was to unpack an understanding of religious tourism as a driver behind the observance and respect for Emmaus pilgrimage site. A description of the religious tourism perspective is offered as well as the benefits of religious pilgrimages to the destination. The paper is conceptual and emphasis is on the sanctity of the site while also offering some perspective of religious tourism as a strategy to sustain and market the heritage site to attract a greater volume of global pilgrims. A qualitative research method has been used to get answers and a descriptive analysis has been done to show the sanctity of Emmaus heritage site. The paper demonstrates that a ‘niche’ product of religious tourism is indeed a big drawcard for the industry. There is a ‘sanctity’ element of Emmaus pilgrimage site as well as a presentation of the key role played by Abbot Francis Pfanner. Reflection of religious tourism and reasons for motivation and promotion of domestic and international pilgrims to visit pilgrimage sites is also briefly considered. In concluding, the paper draws attention to understanding the Roman Catholic religious’ traditions, and it also presents motivations on a variety of pilgrimage types.
