Objective — provide a systematic analysis of the scientific literature on the current state of diagnosis of patients with tuberculous spondylitis (TS), and identify prospects for improving the diagnosis of this disease. Materials and methods. To carry out this work, we analyzed 118 literature sources from the Pub Med database on the records of Diagnosis of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Diagnosis of tuberculous spondylitis, and 26 of them tacked for detailed study. Results and discussion. It was found that TS is the most severe clinical form of osteoarticular tuberculosis (OATB), which is a serious medical and social problem. The percentage of diagnostic errors in TS is very high and its level in recent decades has a clear tendency to increase. The diagnostic pause in this disease usually lasts at least three months. Clinico-radiological examinations are the most accessible and widely used in the world, being the basis for the diagnosis of OATB. From the standpoint of evidence-based medicine, a verified (proven) diagnosis of OATB should be based on data from bacteriological and histological examination of pathological material. Quite often the course of the TS is accompanied by the phenomena of pathomorphosis, which significantly complicates the differential diagnosis. In scientific publications, insufficient attention is paid to the issue of etiological diagnosis of the disease, but traditional methods of clinical and radiological studies have a significant percentage of diagnostic errors. Conclusions. Diagnosis of TS in modern conditions in the vast majority of cases occurs at a later stage (in the advanced form), which causes significant difficulties in the treatment this category of patients. It is important to improve the methods of etiological diagnosis of TS with the following studies sensitivity of the pathogen to antibacterial drugs, which is one of the main conditions for successful treatment.

This paper presents the synchronisation of economic cycles of GDP and crude oil and oil products cargo volumes in major Polish seaports. On the one hand, this issue fits into the concept of sustainable development including decoupling; on the other hand, the synchronisation may be an early warning tool. Crude oil and oil products cargo volumes are a specific barometer that predicts the next economic cycle, especially as they are primary sources of energy production. The research study applies a number of TRAMO/SEATS methods, the Hodrick–Prescott filter, spectral analysis, correlation and cross-correlation function. Noteworthy is the modern approach of using synchronisation of economic cycles as a tool, which was described in the paper. According to the study results, the cyclical components of the cargo traffic and GDP were affected by the leakage of other short-term cycles. However, based on the cross-correlation, it was proved that changes in crude oil and oil products cargo volumes preceded changes in GDP by 1–3 quarters, which may be valuable information for decision-makers and economic development planners.

E-mobility services are important enablers for the success of electric vehicles. In contrast to conventional mobility, where an ecosystem consisting of the vehicle and complementary services has been built up and has improved over decades, the ecosystem for e-mobility is far less advanced and still in its infancy. In order to get on the sustainable path to success in the steadily growing e-mobility market, innovative ideas are necessary which are not covered by existing service offerings. This paper therefore describes a study that explored opportunities for innovative e-mobility service business models through a systematic analysis. Furthermore, each e-mobility service depends on information technology (IT) support. Therefore, IT standardization is an important issue to consider in order to build up more complex services on top of basic services and further advance the e-mobility ecosystem. Consequently, this paper presents results from a survey conducted with 27 e-mobility experts from Germany to help identify necessary standardization gaps in the context of e-mobility services. The paper contributes to the existing body of knowledge by proposing a structured, repeatable method for identifying innovative business models and by offering insights into study results. In addition, gaps in the standardization of IT infrastructure that are important for the provision of existing e-mobility services are illustrated.

The article describes the practical implementation of an experimental model for teaching academic writing to non-linguistic students of humanities at three levels of higher education. Improving the quality of domestic scientific publications submitted to high-ranking journals requires new effective pedagogical technologies. Theory and methodology analysis, as well as empirical observations show that the problems faced by Russian-speaking authors of academic texts can be divided into two categories: strong Russian accent that creates the language barrier and hinders understanding, and flawed academic style that leads to the cross-cultural academic barrier. The described ten-year study involved 25 students of Petrozavodsk State University, aged 17 to 28, who subsequently completed bachelor’s, master’s and postgraduate programs. At each of the three stages, the participants completed a set of tasks aimed at consistent and systematic formation of academic writing competence through writing abstracts (bachelors), conference proceedings (master’s students) and full-text academic articles (postgraduate students). To collect and process the data, the researchers used an open-ended questionnaire, the observation method, expert assessment, and descriptive statistics. The study results showed that the systematic approach helps to effectively eliminate structural and stylistic writing problems over the course of studies. However, the difficulties associated with the manifestation of the Russian accent in written English-language academic discourse are more resistant. The authors make the conclusion that the systematic development of academic writing skills in English will help to overcome obstacles for the internationalization of Russian science.

The main objective of the paper is to examine whether offering a co-creation opportunity as a part of service marketing strategy influences customer value creation and satisfaction in the airsoft industry. Our study uses a case study of a technology-based firm from the airsoft industry which operates internationally. The methods employed included statistical analyses based on the data collected through a survey of the technology-based company customers (n=178). Coefficients of Spearman and Kendall were used to examine the correlations between respondents’ particulars and elements influencing customer satisfaction. The study results reveal that there are different drivers involved in the marketing strategy of value co-creation and customer satisfaction, and some of them have a stronger impact on target customers. The research contributes to the present scientific publications by adding a comprehensive analysis of users’ value co-production as part of a successful marketing strategy implementation by a technology-based firm. The study emphasizes the need for more empirically grounded support for the management of value co-creation processes incorporated in firm’s marketing strategy.

The research substantiates the role of clinical psychologists in the system of comprehensive rehabilitation within the conditions of bio-psychosocial model of rehabilitation. Practical experience and the analysis of scientific literature made it possible to describe peculiarities of modern complex rehabilitation and the problems experienced by clinical psychologists. The authors determined difficulties and characteristics of professional work of rehabilitation psychologist within modern legal terrain. One problem is the lack of professional standard for the profession of clinical psychologist. The other problem is the inconsistency in the use of terms denoting professional specifics. Тhe paper focuses on the specificity of psychodiagnostic and rehabilitative work of a psychologist in the light of changing theoretical basis of rehabilitation and the transition from the International Classification of Disability Disorders and Social Insufficiency to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health. The authors showed the discrepancy between the theoretical approaches of domestic and foreign psychology to the assessment of mental disorders. New professional tasks of the psychologist are defined taking into account multidisciplinary orientation of rehabilitation process. The paper describes the problems of professional training of clinical psychologists and specifies new educational tasks are specified proceeding from the modern approach to rehabilitation. Positive dynamics in the solution of the declared problem can be found in new legislative initiatives, development of General clinical recommendations for rehabilitation psychologists, scientific publications on psychological rehabilitation, update of educational programs for training clinical psychologists.

Introduction: Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects millions of people worldwide. Although Parkinson’s disease has traditionally been described as a disorder of the motor system, it is now recognized as a complex disease with several clinical features that include neuropsychiatric and non-motor manifestations. Studies show that 97% of patients with Parkinson’s disease report non-motor symptoms, in addition to motor symptoms, and some non-motor characteristics may appear before classic motor signs. Objectives: To list the main non-motor clinical manifestations of Parkinson’s disease and analyze its importance in establishing an accurate and early clinical diagnosis. Methods: This is an integrative review, carried out based on the search of scientific publications indexed in the datebase MEDLINE via PubMed, Lilacs and SciELO. At the end of the searches, 66 publications met the eligibility criteria and were selected to compose the study. Results: Within the non-motor clinical manifestations, there may be present: cognitive dysfunction and dementia, psychosis and hallucinations, mood disorders, sleep disorders, fatigue, autonomic dysfunction, olfactory dysfunction, gastrointestinal dysfunction, pain, sensory disorders and dermatological manifestations. Of these, olfactory dysfunction, constipation, depression and sleep disorders stand out because they often precede the motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Conclusion: In this perspective, it is up to the general practitioner and the neurologist or geriatrician to carry out, whenever possible, screening tests to identify early changes that may precede Parkinson’s disease, guaranteeing patients an early multiprofessional treatment and consequently a better prognosis in the course of the disease.

This review examines the relationship between a person’s social status and trust. Previous research has yielded differing results. On one hand, studies have repeatedly found positive correlations of different strengths between social status and trust; that is, persons with higher social status trust more than persons with lower social status. On the other hand, empirical evidence has also suggested a negative correlation between social status and trust; that is, persons with lower social status trust more than persons with higher social status. In addition to a systematic analysis of the various theoretical approaches and the respective study results, possible causes for these diverging empirical findings are discussed. With regard to the relationship between socioeconomic status and generalized trust, all studies reviewed show a positive correlation. Contradictory results can be found only in studies that investigated socioeconomic status and trust, measured as behavior. In addition to the different operationalizations of social status and trust, one potential cause for different results may be found in the fact that in experimental settings, the social status of the interaction partner is often known.
