Language and media are effective entities to perpetuate male domination over women. Both are representations of various social conflicts, interests, power and hegemony. Through Psychological analysis, this study aims to reveal how both of them can establish the process of 'marginalizing' women. This study used a qualitative method with a literature review approach. The results showed that violence against women in language and the media is an invisible form of violence. Language is something that has a purpose (teleology) in itself, which is conditioned by various environmental interests. In patriarchal culture, language is used to build a bad image of women with the aim of strengthening the position of men as the dominant group. The bad image is then transplanted by the media, made into a universe of discourse and implanted into collective consciousness as the public's subconscious imagination. As a result, whether we realize it or not, women are treated in a subordinate way, but also define themselves in a subordinate way according to men's eyes.

Bahasa dan media adalah entitas yang efektif untuk mengekalkan dominasi laki-laki atas perempuan. Violence against women (VAW) continues to exist as a pervasive, structural, systematic, and institutionalized violation of women’s basic human rights (UNDivision of Advancement for Women, 2006). It cuts across the boundaries of age, race, class, education, and religion which affect women of all ages and all backgrounds in every corner of the world. Such violence is used to control and subjugate women by instilling a sense of insecurity that keeps them “bound to the home, economically exploited and socially suppressed” (Mathu, 2008, p. 65). It is estimated that one out of every five women worldwide will be abused during her lifetime with rates reaching up to 70 percent in some countries (WHO, 2005). Whether this abuse is perpetrated by the state and its agents, by family members, or even by strangers, VAW is closely related to the regulation of sexuality in a gender specific (patriarchal) manner. This regulation is, on the one hand, maintained through the implementation of strict cultural, communal, and religious norms, and on the other hand, through particular legal measures that sustain these norms. Therefore, religious institutions, the media, the family/tribe, cultural networks, and the legal system continually disciplinewomen’s sexuality and punish those women (and in some instances men) who have transgressed or allegedly contravened the social boundaries of ‘appropriateness’ as delineated by each society. Such women/men may include lesbians/gays, women who appear ‘too masculine’ or men who appear ‘too feminine,’ women who try to exercise their rights freely or men who do not assert their rights as ‘real men’ should, women/men who have been sexually assaulted or raped, and women/men who challenge male/older male authority.

This research discusses the concept of zakat in Abu Ubaid's Kitab Al-Amwal. The purpose of this study is to analyze the existence of social justice in zakat. The research method that I use is a qualitative method with a literature review method. The result of this research is that zakat according to Abu Ubaid has esoteric values of social justice. Zakat instruments can alleviate poverty and stabilize state finances. To create social justice, the zakat instrument provides space for those in need. The space is not only a treasure. But also capital that can be used to start a business. In addition, in order to optimize zakat, the government must take part in maximizing the potential of zakat.

This study aimed to reveal the concept of Tumbuk in Javanese gamelan tuning, namely gamêlan agêng with Sléndro and Pélog. This study used a qualitative method with an ethical emic perspective. The data collection was done by conducting literature review, observation, interviews, and studio work, then processed with data analysis. The data analysis then was followed up through data interaction by interpreting the relationship reactions of the three elements of analysis consisting of data collection, data reduction, and data presentation. The interpretation of the data was done inductively, so that the conclusion was drawn entirely from the development of the data according to the realities of the field. The results showed that tumbuk was not only limited to a note that has the same high and low, but it is a musical concept that integrates the Sléndro and Pélog scales in the tuning of a set of gamelans. There are basically only two types of tumbuk: nêm tumbuk and lima tumbuk. Other than those, it means that they are the strut. The thing is,tumbuk has a central tone that serves as a benchmark and a supporting tone whose position strengthens the integration of each type of tumbuk. As a concept, it was found that tumbuk plays several important roles including equalizing the highs and lows of certain notes, equalizing the range of certain notes, and conditioning the range of notes or the addition of the tune.

This study aims to find the representation of feminist discourse in the Najwa Notes program entitled “Women in the Shihab Family”. The Shihab family is known as a family that has a high level of religious knowledge with the figure of M. Quraish Shihab in it. The negative stigma against women, which is always associated with religious narratives, is an important point to see how women from the Shihab family view freedom. The aspect of freedom in this event is illustrated by the motive for this event, namely as a reflection of Kartini Day, which is known as the inspiration for the rise of women in a patriarchal culture. This study uses a qualitative method with a feminist discourse approach to Sara Mills. This research found that women in the Shihab family uphold the principle of independence without sacrificing their duties in the domestic sphere. For them, women need to have self-confidence, be able to make their own decisions, be empowered to be able to overcome obstacles in themselves to progress, and be of benefit to those around them. This narrative then deliberately provided stimulation for women in Indonesia who became the object of the story of the women of the Shihab family. Readers who are in the wider community are given the doctrine of freedom through joint production efforts between the writer and the reader so that they are indoctrinated to believe in and apply the messages contained in the program.

The sar culture is the pre-existing culture of the Kanum tribe whose implementation is aimed to maintain and preserve nature. Sar culture not only has a positive influence on the environment, but it also represents symbolic violence against women and the Kanum people. This research is aimed to describe sar culture based on the theory of habitus and symbolic violence by Bourdieu. This research involved a qualitative descriptive method, in which the data was obtained from in-depth interviews with Kanum tribal head, Kanum tribe elders, and some village residents involved in sar, observation in Naukenjerai district, and supported by literature review. All collected data were then analyzed descriptively according to the concepts of habitus and symbolic violence by Bourdieu.
