Asma Nadia is a reading house at Sumbang Subdistrict, Banyumas Regency, Central Java which started on May 26th , 2016. There were nine volunteers at the reading house. The objective of reading house was to increase reading interest and build mental character especially for children. In fact, the reading interest was high but it was not supported with adequate reading house facilities. The limited reading space in reading house made them to shift another area. In addition, the collection of books was limited as well. In terms of library management, there were many unrecorded and unclassified books and ability of volunteers to use information technology were relatively low. Morover, In terms of funding, there had been several efforts made by volunteers such as selling drinks or making paper flower but those were undeveloped well. So, by those problems, some programs had been created such as training Senayan Library Management System (SLIMS) software, classifying and labelling books, holding on e-commerce business communication strategies workshop and children writing competition. The generated outcome from the internal community activities were implemented for library information systems, publications on ISSN community service of scientific journal, and online publication.

Posyandu is the center of community activities in the effort to provide health services and family planning. These trained Posyandu cadres are not only seen from the way they handle maternal and child health but also have to be supported by their ability to use computers in administrative management and data processing. The method used in this community service activity is a combination of tutorials, practice, and discussion or question and answer, as well as evaluation to determine the level of absorption of the training material. The office application materials provided are Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, and Microsoft powerpoint. Office application program training activities for cadres of Posyandu Anyelir 8 Block 8 Perumnas Antang were carried out well and improved the skills of Posyandu Anyelir 8 Block 8 Perumnas cadres in the use of information technology.

The purpose of science and technology activities for the Society (IbM) is to solve problems in the school library by providing understanding and management of libraries to library officer or teachers placed in the library to be able to manage the school library based on information technology in accordance with established standards. In this activity, it will solve the problem completely from conceptual understanding and conducting school library management practices based on information technology with the implementation of library automation system using Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) and socialization of information literacy in the school library.The method offered to solve the problem of school library management based on information technology is the training is used lecturing method, question and answer, group discussion, and practice. Then this is followed by information socialization activities information technology-based information for all school members. Training activities accomplished properly according to the expected objectives of the program. This activity received a positive response from various parties and trainees can apply the use of SLiMS software in school library management. From the socialization activities for information literacy performed by involving all elements schools can increase their citizens’ understanding of various sources of information that can be utilized. So hopefully the school library can provide better service and the existence of school libraries will contribute significantly to the society.

One of the main elements in the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi is carrying out community service activities. Public Space Integrated Child Friendly (RPTRA) were built and developed by Jakarta Provincial Government has a library that needs to be managed properly. To increase interest in reading among library users, especially children, the Program Management Studies Bunda Mulia University, held a traning program in the library management and also held activities in order to increase interest in reading. The educational background or knowledge of the librarians of RPTRA who are not educated libraries of course make them limited in managing the library including developing activities related to the development of reading interest. Through the training of good library management to increase interest in reading is seen some things that can be felt directly by the librarians and the children as the majority of library users in RPTRA Dharma Suci. For the board perceived the benefits of knowledge about how to manage the library well. Then also gain knowledge on how to develop activities that can be used to develop reading interest among library users, especially children. For children as library users it is felt that through the example of storytelling activities, their interest in finding other stories through library collection books in RPTRA Dharma Suci can increase. This is certainly positive because it will make them spend more time in the library than playing on the streets. So therefore, the future of these children can continue to develop themselves in order to improve their welfare in the future.<br />Keywords: management, library, reading interest, welfare living

Abstrak            Perkembangan Teknologi Informasi informasi yang semakin pesat berdampak kepada berkembangnya perangkat lunak dengan sumber terbuka  Open Source Software (OSS) seperti  LINUX (yang lebih kepada Sistem operasinya), MySQL (basis data) PHP, Perl, Pyton (bahasa pemograman). OSS yang telah dikembangkan seperti Koha dan NewGenLib merupakan suatu tawaran yang menarik bagi perpustakaan untuk mengembangkan sistem pengelolaan di perpustakaan.            Penelitian  ini memberikan analisis rinci mengenai perbandingan dari kedua jenis perangkat lunak, yaitu Koha (3.2.4) dan NewGenLib (3,0), sebagaimana yang akan dilakukan dalam penelitian ini. Metodologi yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah "metode Evaluasi"            Hasil dari Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari sistem pengelolaan perpustakaan terpadu sumber terbuka (Open Source), yaitu Koha dan NewGenLib, untuk menginformasikan kepada pustakawan tentang pertimbangan apa yang harus dibuat ketika memilih sumber terbuka untuk sistem manajemen perpustakaan terpadu.                                                            AbstractDevelopment of Information Technology Information that increasingly rapidly affect the development of software with open source Open Source Software (OSS) such as LINUX (more to the operating system), MySQL (database) PHP, Perl, Pyton (programming language). The aim of community service is the establishment of a good and correct library management system for the two partner schools and the preparation of a primary school library management manual. The target audience includes 2 partner schools, namely SDN Sentul 1 and SDN Sentul 2, Purwodadi District, Pasuruan Regency. This activity involved the Community Service Team consisting of 4 lecturers and 4 students as resource persons and assistants, and teachers in 2 partner schools who served as librarians in each school. The method of implementation is the classical approach and individual approach. This library management assistance activity produced results in the form of a library management system in the two partner schools properly and correctly. Based on the results of the evaluation, it can be concluded that this service activity was successful in achieving its objectives. The benefit that can be obtained through this activity is the strengthening of the school literacy movement.Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu tersusunnya sistem pengelolaan bahan pustaka yang baik dan benar pada kedua sekolah mitra dan tersusunnya buku panduan pengelolaan perpustakaan sekolah dasar. Khalayak sasaran kegiatan ini meliputi 2 sekolah mitra yaitu SDN Sentul 1 dan SDN Sentul 2 Kecamatan Purwodadi Kabupaten Pasuruan. Kegiatan ini melibatkan Tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang terdiri dari 4 orang dosen dan 4 orang mahasiswa sebagai narasumber dan pendamping, dan guru di 2 sekolah mitra yang bertugas sebagai pustakawan di masing-masing sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan yaitu pendekatan klasikal dan pendekatan individual. Kegiatan pendampingan pengelolaan perpustakaan ini memberikan hasil berupa tersusunnya sistem pengelolaan bahan pustaka pada kedua sekolah mitra dengan baik dan benar. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil dalam mencapai tujuan. Manfaat yang bisa diperoleh melalui kegiatan ini yaitu terjadi penguatan gerakan literasi sekolah.

<p>Institut Hindu Dharma Negeri (IHDN) Denpasar utilize information technology to support the vision and mission. Besides utilized to assist in the administration of education, information technology is also used for the development of quality IHDN. For example, the implementation of SPMI by the Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu (LPM) IHDN Denpasar by utilizing information technology in empowering educators, staff, service for learners. Information technology can make SPMI process becomes more transparent and accountable, so as to improve the quality of education in IHDN Denpasar.</p><p>In 2016, the lecturers of IHDN Denpasar have been using applications Beban Kerja Dosen (BKD) so that the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi of each Lecturer can be calculated in a professional manner. Application Beban Kerja Dosen (BKD) which uses Microsoft Access greatly assist the lecturers of IHDN Denpasar in preparing the report of BKD, which became the basis allowances of lecturer certification. Scientific Journal Publication as research journals have been managed by using information technology in website’s form http://www.ejournal.ihdn.ac.id. Process research and community service in IHDN Denpasar, ranging from proposals to reporting already using online application that Management Information Systems Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM). Implementation of the obligations of officials in Denpasar IHDN in education have used the system of financial information which relating to applications such as SPAN and SILABI, and for IHDN affairs personnel data in Denpasar using http://ropeg.kemenag.go.id information system. whereas for asset management or inventory in IHDN Denpasar is managed by using the application of State Property (BMN). Services to students, starting from recruitment of new students, the learning process through graduation in Denpasar IHDN also have been managed through a new Student Information System Admissions, Academic Information Systems, and Information Systems Graduation.</p>

Library is one of the facilities which provides information, knowledge resource, and acts as an academic helper for readers to get the information. The huge number of books which library has, usually make readers find the books with difficulty. Universitas Multimedia Nusantara uses the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) as the library catalogue. SLiMS has many features which help readers, but there is still no recommendation feature to help the readers finding the books which are relevant to the specific book that readers choose. The application has been developed using Vector Space Model to represent the document in vector model. The recommendation in this application is based on the similarity of the books description. Based on the testing phase using one-language sample of the relevant books, the F-Measure value gained is 55% using 0.1 as cosine similarity threshold. The books description and variety of languages affect the F-Measure value gained. Index Terms—Book Recommendation, Porter Stemmer, SLiMS Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, TF-IDF, Vector Space Model

Purpose A case study of the Wales Higher Education Libraries Forum (WHELF) project to procure and implement a shared library management system (LMS) for all universities in Wales, together with the National Health Service Libraries in Wales and the National Library of Wales. In particular, the purpose of this paper is to explore the drivers to this collaboration, outline the benefits achieved and the framework to realise further benefits. Design/methodology/approach Case study review of the process, together with a review of literature on consortia and LMSs. Findings WHELF has developed into a more mature consortium through procuring and implementing a shared LMS. The process has delivered tangible benefits and is driving more work to realise further benefits. Research limitations/implications As the WHELF Shared LMS project is only nearing the end of the implementation phase, many of the anticipated operational benefits cannot be reported. Practical implications Useful case study for other consortia or potential consortia. Originality/value WHELF is in vanguard of consortia developments in the UK, and this is the first case study of the project.
